I will say the items I purchased were decent quality even though the labeling was crooked, but the turnaround time and customer service were extremely disappointing and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I originally placed an order in late March for one short sleeve, two long sleeves, and one hoodie. It's now the middle of May, and I've had to repeatedly come back to the shop week after week because the order still wasn't ready. Every visit came with a different excuse: "I didn't have it ready." "It'll be done tomorrow." "We didn't have the right size." "It'll be done in 10 minutes." "I ran out of Materials" After waiting this long, I expected at least some accountability or effort to make things right, but instead I was met with attitude and dismissive responses from the young female up front. I came in this Thursday morning 14May2026 they said they have to get the hoodie from somewhere and that it'll be done at 1530. I walk in at 1530 on the dot it wasn't ready and they had to press it when I walked in. Misspelled my name and wouldn't fix it or refund it. Absolutely a circus fest. They also said they would deliver the order to my BN, but that never happened either probably because they didn't have it ready. The products themselves are fine, but between the delays, poor communication, and customer service, I'd recommend going somewhere else like local alterations shops like Gate 2 Alterations on Forrest Drive for uniforms or Etsy sellers if you want reliability and professionalism. If you value your belongings, do NOT bring them here. This business lost my fiancé's $70 designer wedding shirt. When I went to pick up the shirt from a simple spot clean service, the owner admitted the shirt was missing but offered to replace it if I sent the details. I want to note prior to that solution, she started handing me other random white button downs, saying I could take any of them that would work....insane to pass off different clothing items as a replacement...I went ahead and sent her the details of the shirt for replacement, she acknowledged via text she received them; and then for the next three weeks she ignored every call and text, even though her read receipts showed she saw my messages. I was calling this business multiple times a day every day of the week and they would NEVER answer. I had to attempt stop by in person, but their online hours are different than the ones posted on their door that they operate under, so they were closed when social media said they should have been open. After getting nowhere, I filed a BBB complaint. The next day, I was able to stop by and they still had not purchased the replacement. She said she was going to buy it on Saturday, and would call me to come pick it up. Lo and behold, a week later of no phone call and refusing to answer my calls, she suddenly called saying she had the shirt, but refused to give it to me because I reported her. She openly admitted she was holding the replacement shirt hostage out of spite. I had to involve the police just to try to get it back. Even in front of officers, she demanded I cancel my BBB complaint in exchange for the shirt; when I agreed, she then changed her mind and told me my "integrity is awful" (ironic I know). She even tried to gaslight me by saying I couldn't prove I dropped off that exact shirt and demanded I show a receipt of that being the shirt I purchased. I told her I could do that and was pulling up the receipt and then she said even if I prove it with a receipt she still wasn't giving me the shirt. This went back and forth with her demanding different things in exchange for the shirt....every time I tried to meet her demands she moved the goalpost and ultimately decided she wasn't going to give me my shirt. Law enforcement went back inside and either found a way to reason with her, or informed her that I was encouraged to take her to small claims court, and she gave them the shirt. This is not just bad service, it's manipulative, dishonest, and malicious. She lost a groom's wedding shirt, ignored me for weeks, then used it as leverage when I filed a complaint. I wouldn't trust this business with a rag, much less something as important as wedding clothes or uniforms. This business used to be run by great and honest people,and now is run by this woman who talks to costumers like they owe her things. Don't let the good reviews from the past owners services trick you. You can see from recent reviews how downhill this place has gone. read more

I would like to give this place a negative star. Please just don't go there if you like your belongs. I drop my shirt for dry cleaning, they charged me but they didn't wash my shirt. They took it back kept it for couple of days and gave it to me as same. That my first time there and it's for sure my last time too. Im very disappointed. read more

Took in 8 shirts to get military crease and the finish date was 22 Oct. Called them to get an earlier finish date and i only want 3 short and 1 long sleeve shirts done my Friday and i would pickup the rest of the shirts. I arrived in Fridays and all 8 shirts were completed. I took pics of the front and back. My son told me the crease in the front was not centered and all the creases were sewn in. i asked the manager was this a military crease she yes and someone had told her to do it this way. As the customer we had no rights. I spoke with the manager on the phone about getting front two lines on two shirts completed cause he needed it by Sunday. I arrived showed the manager where the front crease should be and she stated we going to have to charge you to take out and redo it. Each crease was five dollars and one shirt without getting pressed was 25 dollars. This by far was the worst customer service i ever had. She sounded as though i got it done for free. Searched high and low for a dry cleaning spot to clean my uniform for a very important ceremony and based of yelp brought it to this spot. Looking at post ceremony photos my pant legs looked odd and one appeared to be bunched on my leg. Initially I thought it was the the way I was standing. Turns out to be a crappy dry cleaning job. I failed to do a proper PCC/PCI and it bit me in the butt. First time in a dry cleaning spot jacked me up. May be the only time this has happened at this establishment but if you ask me. I want to give this location 5 Stars because the seamstress did an amazing job on the alterations I requested but I left the shop with dusty furry uniforms. I am from out of state and was referred to this location by over 10 people so I gave it a chance. So I took my uniform jacket, Pants and a skirt in for alterations. The seamstress new immediately that I needed to take in my waist size on my skirt and hem the pants up to standard. Great job! No complaints. Within one week I return to pay and pick up my uniforms. When I got back to my hotel and prepared my military uniform for inspection, I noticed I had animal fur on my uniform. I paid over $60 for these services and expect a great product in return. My recommendations: 1) if you're allergic to animals, don't take your items here. 2) the shop needs to remove the animals from the shop because it's unfair to pay for a service and receive lesser value service. 3) inspect your items before you leave read more

Before new owners this establishment was outstanding. Now the place is pure trash! They do not listen and dry clean clothes as they please. Don't crease they ignore, a customer wants a crease they ignore. Alteration prices are extremely pricey for the quality of work. One last thing! This place alters the reciepts given. I paid in advance and was given the pink slip for pick up. When I returned to pick up my garments the employee showed me the white slip stating I couldn't pick my garments until after four. So I have been to at least 3 other alteration shops in Columbia, and I thought that they were great. However, the level of customer service, and attention to detail you receive at Magic Touch is unparalleled. As an Active Duty Soldier, I take great pride in my uniform, and this is the only shop that will do a better job at pressing a uniform than me. They also do ASU ribbon set ups with surgical precision, as one of the owners is a former Soldier himself. I always feel good supporting a local, independent or family ran business like this, since they know me by name and are always happy to see you. I agree with the top notch reviews of others who have used this shop. I'm not active duty, but I'm a veteran, so like most ex-military, I like my clothes to fit right. The service is great here, and the owner-operators are very friendly. They even have a big Golden Retriever who comes out to visit once in a while! I would give this place negative 3 stars if I could. I've never rated a place so low. EVER. I sent in a uniform jacket with a specific request to sew a rank on to the jacket. Paid extra for the rank. The uniform came back with buttons missing, dirtier and more scuffed up than I sent it in, with NO RANK. THEY STILL CHARGED ME EVERY DOLLAR AND DIDN'T EVEN TRY TO OFFER TO FIX IT. read more

This place is awesome, especially for military. They do dry cleaning, alterations, and custom embroidery. They do an excellent job tailoring formal gowns as well as military uniforms. They make the name and rank badges for uniforms and will also set up all of your awards on your dress uniform for you (for a small fee). All of this is done within a couple of days.
