Jack Willie's is amazing I been coming here for about 8 years now. Jack Willie's is located in Oldsmar and is right on the bay. This place is definitely a locals hotspot. If your looking for good seafood and want the feeling of being by the water and tiki bar vibe Jack Willie's is it. Very reasonably priced compared to the big name seafood restaurants located on the beaches. My go to favorites are the Shrimp Po Boy , Appetizer Fried Shrimp Basket and the Smoke Fish Dip. Everytime I'm at Jack Willie's the food is always consistent and the service is awesome. I highly recommend Jack Willie's for your tiki bar sunset date nights! read more

As our boat pulled up to the dock, in front of a broken down warehouse I thought either this is a scene out of a movie where a deal goes bad, or we're going to go and eat at some crazy tiki bar. Thank God, it was the latter. This is a local bar, because quite frankly, I don't know how tourists would ever find it tucked behind a school at the water front. But it is quaint, offering seating in the loudly decorated and colored area inside or waterfront seats, and around the tiki bar in the fresh open air. Either way, it won't be a dull time! People watching and laughing with the Harley riders as you watch a game on the screens is a fine way to spend your Sunday afternoon! The food is surprisingly good, diverse and unique, offering something for meat eaters and veggie heads alike! I have been there twice now, and it still marvels me! read more

Today the service was very poor and food not the best. Took over 40 minutes to get food. When it arrive it was over dong. Waitress was very inattentiive. All the bills where wrong. Not the usual good service and food read more

I love this place I really do. Cool atmosphere great service and REALLY good food. A must try if in central Florida

When you say locals only know about the place, sometimes it's true and sometimes it isn't. This is one of those times where it is. Nobody pops by because they see the advertising (there isn't any). Nobody sees it while driving by on a busy street. Word of mouth doesn't work either since most are too drunk to remember any specific details. However, if you'd like a tasty lunch or a drink or four in a nice outside tiki bar, I would recommend it. Just bring a designated driver and you are good to go! read more

Thankfully Jack Willie's Original Tiki Bar & Grill is under new management, as the previous ownership had run this place into the ground -- netting it several Health Department and "Dirty Dining" citations. But all of that has changed, and Jack Willie's is back to being an excellent place to hang out on the northern end of Old Tampa Bay. The restaurant and famous tiki bar sit right against the bay, and you can watch the sunset along with the sandpipers, the cranes, the tarpon, and other critters while you enjoy something to eat or have a frosty cold beverage outside under the thatched roof tiki hut. You'll find Jack Willie's right near the intersection of Tampa Road and St. Petersburg Drive in Oldsmar. If my memory serves me correctly, Jack Willie's was originally started by a couple of guys from the New York Yankees baseball team as their take on an old Florida fish house / tiki bar. The back room of the restaurant is filled with autographed photos, bats, baseballs and other Yankees memorabilia. For years this had been a spot to order their crab cakes, grilled grouper sandwiches, or sushi-grade tuna served over a big bowls of greens with an Asian-inspired sesame dressing. And I am really glad to say that the kitchen is back to cranking out some mighty tasty (and thankfully, Health Department-approved) meals. The menu is full of seafood prepared as you like it, along with soups, salads, appetizers, burgers, wraps, sandwiches, and full entrees including steaks and chicken. Jack Willie's is a great place to visit on the weekends when you can sit outside, under the thatched roof of the tiki hut, and enjoy your favorite drink. On the weekends and in the evenings there is a small house band that plays a lot of classic rock mixed with Jimmy Buffet beach songs. Kind of a funky mix, but it's popular with the locals. Don't be surprised if the parking lot is filled with motorcycles as Jack Willie's is a popular gathering spot for people on their long weekend rides. We were there on a Saturday evening after a very filling meal elsewhere, so we found an open table outside and listened to the music while enjoying a few drinks. Later in the evening we split an order of blackened grouper bites, and toasted the fact that Jack Willie's is back in action! read more

Great atmosphere the outdoor dining area right on the water is cool, came here for lunch while traveling on business. I had a light lunch which was seared Ahi tuna with a cole slaw type salad. It was tasty and not to filling, it hit the spot. the people at the giant tiki bar seemed to be enjoying themselves, looks like a great local hang out spot. The service was good even though she had just started. The wildlife was nice to watch with the fish and the birds and the signs said manatee's. Next time I roll into this part of town I will stop here for sure. read more

It is time to upgrade this local bar to a 4 star status despite the occasional presences of heavy smokers and nonsensical drunks at the outdoor Tiki bar. After all, like most of the local folks in Oldsmar, I go to Jack Willie's for its quality food and relaxing water front atmosphere. I doubt I will ever complain about the food here. Jack Willie does seafood right. The freshness, flavor and portion aligned to the best that please a picky eater like me. I even liked their onion rings. A large cut of sweet onion coated with a light batter fried to perfect golden color, then serve sizzling hot to satisfy my crave for decently local cooking. Forgive my finger licking eating manner just in case you see me chewing down Willie's food. I can't help. There are many decent restaurants around Oldsmar offer sophisticate atmosphere for folks after a long working day. For that matter, Willie is probably an outcast where pretentious is not required. What matters is simply how much you enjoy your food. read more

Stopped in Sunday afternoon. Sat on the patio under an umbrella. Was pretty busy. Live music which was very good. He ordered the jalapeño margarita which was pretty nice on the spice. The redfish special was very good. Flavorful yet light. The mahi mahi was even better. Perfectly cooked. Nice spice and the bun was a perfect compliment to the fish. Cole slaw was fresh. Fries were perfectly fried. Staff was very friendly. Clean, following social distancing amongst the tables. The bar was pretty packed so we stayed clear of that. Plenty of parking. Love the scenery as it is right on the water. Watched the fish jumping. We will definitely be back. read more

Off the beaten path, but worth finding! Old marina area and sits on water. Had the Grouper melt sandwich (grilled) w/fries and it was phenomenal! Had 3 craft drafts and 5 domestic swill - wish they had a few more local drafts on tap. Very laid-back, chill place. Seemed to be a lot of locals. read more

Went for lunch today, ordered 10 wings from the appetizer menu that was priced for 11.99. Got the bill and was charged 15.99. I asked if they have a military discount and the response was no, apparently they don't like you people. Wings were decent at best. read more

This is my second time here! The first time I was here I had a sampler platter that had fried grouper and shrimp with hush puppies and coleslaw. I also got sweet potato fries. This was good but I think my order today was much better. I had a fried grouper sandwich with coleslaw and Swiss cheese on Texas toast which came with a choice of side. I got the tator tots which were crispy and delicious. This was an awesome grouper sandwich! As good as in Clearwater at Frenchy's! I also had a mango pina colada that was delicious. Overall I had an awesome time painting and left feeling content with an awesome dinner. I ate inside so I didn't deal with any smoke that people complain about outside. Come here and try the grouper sandwich on Texas toast! You'll be happy you did! read more

Thought we would try out this local bar on the water. We started with fried alligator bites but they were very chewy and didn't have any flavor so we didn't finish them. My son had a bison burger and he did enjoy it and said it was really flavorful and juicy. I had the stuffed shrimp and the crab meat that it was stuffed it was a little bit fishy. My husband's fried shrimp were very good though. And I have to say I did order a spicy margarita and it was not spicy at all. They actually put a green bell pepper instead of a jalapeño in it. I'm not sure if they didn't realize those are two completely different types of peppers. Very disappointing. My husband and son did enjoy playing corn hole outside so that was fun and the band was pretty good. read more

Sydney is an exceptional bartender! Not only does she makes great drinks also provides a welcoming and fun environment for all!! Love this place. Super relaxed vibe. Not pretentious. The portions are filling and reasonably priced.

We thought we would try this place out. They seat us, bartender comes over for our drink order. Hostess continues to seat another couple, redneck looking regulars. The waitress assigned to both our table and redneck table immediately goes to them to take order...meanwhile we've been sitting 10 mins, no one comes to take our order. We walked out. Save your time unless you are a grungy regular. read more

It was a disappointing time. The soup came up cold and had to be taken back, then way too hot. The fries were tasteless ,the onion rings were so small and oily and the waitress was sub par. Will not go back again read more

This has been tough day for reviews. This Florida on the water eatery rates high if you want to experience yesteryear Florida - nothing very fancy but an interesting experience. Atmosphere 75 Run down, but on the water Service 70 For a local place not very friendly Food 75 Rustic Floridan eats Value 75 Pricey for what you get If you want the old Florida experience without driving to the shore, you might like this eatery. Otherwise, there are a ton of better places to eat on Tampa Road. read more

Driving by you may think about straying far as the sign and exterior give it a rough look.... but it does not disappoint. It's on the water, with a huge seafood selection like mahi mahi, scallops, grouper, crab cakes etc. plus burgers, chicken, nachos, buffalo cauliflower to name a few. There is a bar outside and inside. There is usually a band playing at dinner and trivia during the week too. The service is fast and efficient. Found my hidden gem! read more

Cute little divey place right on the water. We like to come here to drink cheap and play outdoor games. We used to do some day drinking here and you can watch manatees swim around in the water. There are also a ton of different birds, frogs and crickets to listen to. I know they have some pretty good specials during games. The outdoor bar is the place to be for those. The only thing we ate here were nachos and they were delicious!! The bathroom is small and not super clean but what do you expect for a divey kind of place. The bartenders and hosts are always really great. The bartenders were talking clear across the bar about how drunk they got the night before and how much they had hangovers but, again, what do you expect from a divey place. It wasn't them being rude or gross like I've heard at other places- just seemed like their typical conversation. We will definitely be back for a few drinks here and there! Cheers! read more

Stuffed! My husband and I ate here last night and everything was great! From the view sitting outside to the attentive waiter, we were more than happy. We ordered the buffalo cauliflower for an appetizer. It was spicy (just as we like) and delicious. We also ordered the blackened shrimp and the Firecracker burger with the sweet potato fries to share. The burger was huge and so juicy we needed multiple napkins! Everything tasted wonderful and was cooked to perfection. We had a couple of local craft beer and watched the fish jump beside us. Great experience off the beaten path. Hidden treasure. Glad we stumbled upon this place! read more

First time here from out of town visiting family. Service was prompt. We all ordered are food and when it arrived the disappointment started. My niece ordered a burger medium came out charcoal. I ordered the seafood combo for $23 and got 3 shrimp 2 scallops and 3 small grouper bites. They were the size of a small scallop. My nephew's fiancé had a chicken taco with absolutely no chicken in it. My sister and nephews fiancé had ordered a shock top draft that tasted nothing like shock top. The owner came out to ask what the problem was and we were told the beer was fine and that's the way the taco is. He did nothing to try and resolve the problem. Being a former bar owner I am shocked that's how you treat any customer. We are not looking for anything free and will pay are bill without taking it out on our server. I know a lot of people have given this place good reviews I will not. Really wish I could add the pictures but for some reason it won't. read more

Came here for the first time on a whim. So glad we did. Awesome atmosphere. Music, outdoor seating, sat by the water and watched the manatees. Good food. Great drinks. For the price and it's close proximity to home, this is a great place. We arrived around 830 on a Saturday night and sat outside. It was busy but not packed. You could definitely find a table or a seat at the bar. The crowd was interesting. It's definitely an older, biker, sort of rough around the edges type of crowd. But it was good-definitely not pretentious and some good people watching. Our server was slow to greet us or take our drink order, but once she came around she was pretty good. We ordered the crab stuffed fries mushrooms and they were awesome. For dinner we both ordered the blackened mahi sandwich. Mine with fries, the hubs with a side salad. The sandwich was wonderful. It was served on a toasted sesame seed bun and the fries were nice and crispy. The sandwich had crisp lettuce and juicy red tomatoes on the side. We ordered an ice tea and a bud light. For $30, this was a great deal and one we will be repeating again. read more

I give this place five stars because the staff was so friendly and the food was so damn good and it was really priced fairly. The Bloody Mary was a bit of a disappointment, but I survived worse. I had grouper blackened and my husband had a steak. Both were awesome. I was also really pleased to get a big, fresh spinach salad with my meal -- at a biker bar!?! Excellent. Live entertainment, great atmosphere, reasonable prices and great food...it is a bit off the beaten path but do yourself a favor and find it. We had no wait at all at 7:00 on a Saturday night -- but I bet when the weather is nicer, that won't be the case. read more

Just went back to try the food since the new management took over, and it was excellent. Grouper sammich was way better than the one offer by the previous owners. The filet was a nice size and pleasantly thick. I love me some grouper sammiches, but I think the story to write about here was the burger my chica got. Damn if that thing was flame grilled to tasty perfection. It's just hard to find a freaking burger grilled over an open flame these days after the fall of BGR. Honestly, I cannot see going back to Jack Willie's and ordering anything but this burger! read more

Tiki bar? Cold drinks? Great music? Minimal tourist?! I'm there! I have an aunt that lives down the road from Jack Willies. My first night in town, this was always my go to place. There used to be an employee named Mike, he was a true Floridian. He would have my friends smiling all night long! Great guy! At night the live music can get a little loud, but, it is Florida, you are on vacation....cut a rug!!!! Also, I loved this place because it was a great place for the whole family (well the 21+ variety) young cousins, older aunts and uncles could all have a blast! read more

We found this place on yelp! Older reviews were terrible, but later ones were good. So we tried it, for lunch. Good surprise! Now we go every couple of weeks, for lunch. Came here on a Tuesday night with some friends after hearing good things about the food. Disappointed we couldn't sit outside but that's Florida summer weather for you. You can't go wrong with Fish Tacos in the area, but these were especially delicious. The chips that came with the meal were excellent as well. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their meals ( mostly fish tacos) as well and both the food and drinks were reasonably priced. My only complaint was that our waiter screwed up our drink order but it wasn't a big deal. I'll definitely be back to sample the rest of the menu. read more

I wasn't sure what to expect with the new ownership taking over and practically razing the interior of an old favorite spot, but I think we're gonna be ok. We've lost the pool table, but we've got dollar beer. We've lost some regulars after the initial closing, but we've got flame-licked burgers. The trade-offs at this place are alright with me. On every other Thursday they offer bike-night Jack burgers for 5 buckaroos which pretty much outshine most burgers in the area by simply arranging really fresh ingredients with spot on cooking technique. Still like the place, hope it holds up! read more
