This is a nice local spot that has solid food and good live music. My wife and I came here on a Saturday evening to support a friend of ours who was playing with a band. We were able to get a seat inside pretty quickly given how crowded it was outside. Our waitress was attentive and brought out our drinks in no time. We placed our order and had our food in about 15 minutes. I ordered a Grouper sandwich and my wife ordered the fried shimp platter. Both were absolutely delicious and we polished off our dinners really fast. As we were eating, it began to rain outside, so the bulk of the people who had been outside listening to music came inside and filled up the bar. At that point it got really loud and my wife and I couldn't really talk to each other anymore. We were mostly done with our meals by the time it got too loud so it wasn't a big deal. Just be prepared for that if you run into the same situation. read more

This is one of my favorite hole in the walls with killer hamburgers (my favorite is the firecracker burger). If you're looking for an appetizer that's satisfies all tastebuds I recommend the Buffalo cauliflower. We probably got here around 3 o'clock in the afternoon on a Monday wasn't that busy there were five of us we sat to the left which is not the main part of the outdoor seating but it's shaded and service was bad. They forgot one of our lunches and it took a really long time to get the bill. A couple of us had the crabcake sandwich I wasn't really that good it didn't have a lot of seasoning and the spicy mayo has horseradish in it one of my least favorite things. I'm sure will give them another try but this time definitely not up to par. read more

Ok this is a dive tiki bar with good food. Menus really need to be replaced they are old and dirty. But the food on the menu is good. Mostly seafood. I had the fish and chips the last time I went there. Sit outside it is very nice! The parking lot is beat up too. I love this place! It's been our new Friday night hang out. There's live music, the staff is great, plenty of parking and it kind of a hidden gem. Our favorite appetizer is the crab fries, I highly recommend them. I've had multiple different options and have not been disappointed. This week I got a chicken quesadilla and it was so good. They're onion rings and tater tots are also the bomb! They have everything from philly cheese steaks to sea food to even Greek food, they have a bit of everything. This time we ordered the crab fries to share which were the epitome of rich. Seriously, they were awful but my father in law kinda loves em. There are just some things that should not go on fries and crab with melted cheese and some kind of sub sauce is one of those things. I had a grouper sandwich which was excellent. I special ordered it with lettuce tomato, onion and mayo, and tartar sauce on a ciabatta. Fish was fresh and grillled to perfection. Also had the wings. Crispy and large with a side of hot sauce. They're probably the best wings in the area. And drinks are reasonably priced. Oh, and service is spot on. read more

Ambience at Jack Willies is always excellent. You never have to worry about that. However, this time we felt the food was sub-par. Food was just thrown on a plate. For instance, one of the diners ordered oysters blackened and the plate came out with a bunch of oysters thrown on a white plate and no, attempt to make the plate look nice fish-and-chips were served on a plate where they left puddles of Grease Another diner had tacos. The tacos came out. They were toasted, not soft and there was layers of congealed cool cheese on the bottom of the taco. We have been going there for years. But the place has had a serious downturn. Giving this hole in the wall 5 stars for character and food. It is definitely hidden gem status! We opted to sit inside because we came with kids and it was hot in the sun next to the water. I hated to miss the great entertainment outside! The man playing guitar had a great voice. The kids actually ended up back outside after we ordered, to play some cornhole and rings. Inside, I love the look of the restaurant and bar. Beautiful patterned woodwork on the ceilings. Definitely a tiki dive! Portions were huge and the food was great. My husbands fish and chips had about a dozen hushpuppies with it! He said it was good but he'd get something else next time. My scallops were delish. If you're looking for fried coastal bar food in a very relaxed atmosphere, look no further. Headed over to Jack Willie's on a Friday for lunch with some coworkers. Upon pulling into the lot, I said "This is the kind of place that serves Smoked Fish Dip", and I was spot on. We sat outside, it was a nice breezy day. The patio had a nice tarp overhead to keep that pesky sun out of our eyes, which was a nice touch. There were a healthy amount of customers on the patio and the one server was busting his ass to try and get them all ordered, served and bussed. I really, really hate to ding a server because of bad scheduling, but this day, he needed help badly and our experience suffered a lot. I made sure to order sauces when I put in my order (hot sauce, sour cream and salsa) and had to ask for the hot sauce three additional times. :/ I had to ask for the sour cream and salsa one additional time. My unsweet iced tea was refilled with sweet tea. Such a nice fellow, he was working really hard, he was just overwhelmed. Whoever made the schedule that day needs to take notice. One guy doing all that is no bueno and takes you down a star. What's weird is there were other employees we saw flashes of, but apparently none of them were willing/able to deliver food or even bus a table. Anyway, the food. We ordered the appetizer sampler to start. The fried pickles were by far my favorite. Long spears in a light batter, so good. The mozzarella sticks were your standard good fried cheese. The onion rings were also good. The stuffed mushrooms.....they had absorbed a lot of the oil and were hard to eat. Hard on the stomach. The ranch dressing seemed to be watered down. If it's homemade (which I doubt), they need to thicken it up a good bit. I ordered my favorite - smoked fish dip. It NEEDED the hot sauce. Again, it was watered down, way too soupy and over processed. Without the hot sauce it felt like I was eating cat food :( I also ordered the kettle chips, which were good. To sum up, Jack Willies seems like a great place to go have some drinks in a bucket and maybe grab a snack while you're there. The food is fine, the atmosphere is relaxed and the bar seems to be where it's at. read more

The only negative was the chicken was really dry, both in the quesadilla and in my friends chicken philly sandwich. Those were just ok. Hidden dive bar! I was nervous as I don't know the area and it's so hidden only the locals and Yelpers know about it. My friend who does live in the area said it was welcoming and it was. There was a band playing outside. The place was old and a little dirty looking. The bathroom was weird, small and freaky. I got the shrimp tacos and she got the haddock fish tacos. We also got the cheese fries with crab. We couldn't find any crab on there what so ever so we basically got $12 cheese fries. Fun neighborhood bar with good vibes and live music. First off the outside patio was packed when we arrived, which was unexpected but a good sign! Drinks were on point and the food was surprisingly good. I ordered the mushroom caps, mahi mahi sandwich and the grouper melt. The food came out quick and hot. The mushroom caps were delicious and the mahi mahi was soft and juicy. My girlfriend loved the mushroom caps but thought her grouper melt was on the blander side of things. I have tried so many times to go to this bar and have a great experience bc I like the atmosphere and I have had good experiences with the bartenders. Unfortunately the geriatric locals who frequent this bar have too much say in what music and how loud the bar atmosphere should be. I'm sorry but when your at an outside tiki bar on a river Cinco de Mayo at 3pm , the last thing I want to hear is elevator music at 2 decibels. read more
