We were told the steak sandwich was the thing to get. We ordered that and a few drinks and sat outside. It was a beautiful day, the area is lovely. Our food was ready in a few minutes. The steak sandwich was tender and juicy. The fries were pretty good too. If you're in Parkfield, this is the place to eat. Oh, and in case you're wondering, no pictures of the food because I ate it fast. We were hungry.

Top five best burger I've had in my life!!!!…read more A couple buddies and I spent the past few days in Parkfield on a hog hunt with Miller Bros Expeditions and found ourselves rolling into town with a massive hunger and thirst for some good food and cold beer. We arrived before checking in with our guide and were greeted by Missy. Missy welcomed us in and took our order while we admired the quaint layout of Parkfield Cafe and discussed the coming hunt amongst ourselves. Our beers were served promptly along with ice cold waters and let me tell you something about frosty beers in hot weather after six hours of driving... they hit...they hit good! Although we each ordered different burgers, we were unanimously impressed and satisfied with the quality and every element of our burgers. The side of fries, the meat and the bread were all of top tier ingredients. The burgers were perfectly cooked and presented and had we not inquired about the bread, we would've assumed it to have been baked in house. We found ourselves here a few more times throughout our visit for cold beers and ice and regardless of where we were from, we felt welcomed, served excellently and felt right at home at Parkfield Cafe. Parkfield is a small town, but they afford patrons with outstanding food and service. Seeing as this trip has been a tradition for some of us and for others the start of a new tradition, this was not our first, nor will it be our last experience at Parkfield Cafe.

As someone visiting from out of town, I was hoping for a warm, welcoming coffee shop experience. The café is definitely cute and has a great atmosphere, but the service felt a bit rushed. It also wasn't busy--there were only a few customers inside, and I was the only person ordering coffee at the time. Even so, I wasn't asked if my order was for here or to go, and I also wasn't asked if I'd like my coffee cake warmed. Everything was automatically served in a to-go cup with a cold slice of coffee cake. After sitting outside, I noticed other customers enjoying their drinks in ceramic mugs, which would have made the experience feel much more like the cozy coffee shop I was hoping for. It's a small detail, but those little touches can make a big difference, especially for first-time visitors. The quality of the coffee is worth stopping in for, but a little more attentiveness and hospitality would make the experience even better.

Unfortunately, I was immediately told they were out of matcha when I went to order. Given that the menu is fairly small, with only about eight different drinks, I was pretty disappointed that one of the main options wasn't available. My sister ordered a coffee with foam on top, but when her drink came out, there was barely any foam and she couldn't taste it at all. On top of that, the service felt a bit lacking in personality. The staff wasn't particularly warm or welcoming, which definitely affected the overall experience. Maybe we just caught them on an off morning, but we left feeling pretty underwhelmed. Based on the reviews, we were expecting more and ultimately wished we had tried somewhere else.

This place has been our go to breakfast spot for so many years. After our past few visits our group…read moreis all in agreement that this place has gone down in food quality. Our normal order is pasole and brown rice bowl. Pasole our past few times has been lukewarm and lacking flavor. This past visit we waited 45 minutes for our food and saw most of our plates getting cold at the window. We had to ask our for a status of our order when normally we have never waited more then 10-15 minutes. Food was again barely hot. The brown rice bowl was dry and is now missing ingredients and no longer is anywhere near the same dish as it was. They didn't even put the pesto (magic green sauce) in it. It's as if there is a new chef running things cheaper now. Today as we woke up planning to go to paso for wine tasting and our group had zero interest in going there for breakfast due to past experiences. It no longer is our go to breakfast spot which is sad. Also we have noticed on our past visit that front of the house staff and back of the house staff didn't seem to be communicating well. At one point we watched one employee working with the a cook and the cook just stared at the employee ignoring her. When there is communication breakdown in a restaurant this begins the gradual death of a business. Hopefully they can clean it up fast. We may give this place one last shot but if it's just ok quality we won't be back. The food is too pricey to just had bland lukewarm food.

They make some of their pastries in-house and also bring in items from other local bakeries. The pastry selection was a bit limited when we visited, but the service was friendly and the prices were very reasonable. We tried the dulce de leche croissant and an iced mocha. The iced mocha was excellent. The croissant wasn't the best I've ever had, but it was tasty and a good value for the price. Overall, a pleasant little spot for coffee and a pastry. I'd definitely come back and try some of their other offerings.
