So I need this place for my extra stuff...and it's not a bad storage unit except that they always have some kind of issue with the front gate. It seems like the last three months, they've had some kind of construction going on to where I've had to drive basically in a circle to get to my unit. I think they're finally done with all that, thankfully. For less than a hundred dollars a month, I get to stow all my rollerblades, weights and small furniture- not too bad, if I do say so myself! The only other pet peeve I have is that there are no trash cans in any of the hallways. That's pretty inconvenient. Oh, well, I guess I got what I'm paying for. read more

Paid the late fee then spent hours on the phone trying to get lock off a paid unit. Staff was unfriendly and rude, no concern for people's time. Treat you like you're nobody and your time is worthless even when it's their own clerical error. Would not recommend to anyone who doesn't have free time to talk to staff who definitely does not put the customer first. read more

This is my first ever review so don't take this lightly. I was told "this may not be the storage facility for you" after being a customer for 7 years. They dont care about their customers and they are quick to show it. The place is completely overpriced compared to others. This Jack Rabbit is very unprofessional, and they always have been along with being dirty, and unsafe. They raised costs while taking away amenities like a disposal because they didn't do their job to stop non-customers from dumping. I would recommend someone look anywhere else and you will be happy you did! read more

Storage is not a complicated thing. You need reliable shelter at a reasonable price with half decent support for billing and any issues. I've been at Jack Rabbit for about two years and they covered those basics. There are a lot of options out there, I have found. I'm moving out now because there was a change in management and they are making small things more difficult. They notified me that I can no longer use the facility dumpster for anything (this was a nice feature until recently). They also informed me that if I happened to lose a key, I was not allowed to remove the lock on my own unit. You have to call a locksmith which will be logistically challenging and expensive. Considering the available options, I've found a less expensive option a mile down the road with dumpster diving privileges. read more

This place has been around for a while. The buildings show their age, but all is clean, functional, and well maintained where it counts. I rented my space online and got a special that made the 50 square foot space the cheapest, and most convenient to my location. After renting online, and signing an actual signature online, I presented my confirmation email at the desk. I was outta there and loading in my first haul in 37 seconds. They also have modestly priced packing materials, and moving equipment rental. My 5x10x10-0" space is indoors, and has automatic lighting. While not climate controlled, there is basic 55 degree winter heat. With the web special, my first month was 10 smackers, and rent is 65.00/mo. Don't forget to take proof of personal property insurance or you will pay another 10 a month for a mandatory policy issued with your lease. After shopping around, this place is a stable spot, and a good value. read more

They made me feel like I had been a customer for years, on the first day. The unit is clean and very reasonably priced. The staff was super nice and helpful. Their truck was totally free as advertised which helped me immensely. I know my belongings will be safe and secure. When I dropped the truck back Bailey Schmitt, the resident manager for the Birdneck location, was very helpful. She could see how exhausted I was so she got checked in quickly and helped with some of the tasks so I could go home and rest. Also there were no gimmicks. Everything that they advertised was true. 1 star and thats being generous. Do not get a unit here if you ever plan on dying. We lost a loved one and showed up with the keys to get into his unit. We had no code but the first day one of the employees let us in if we PAID the 114. Ok cool. We took out as much as we could. Tried to come back & was told we needed a death certificate to gain access to the unit. No big deal. a week later we receive the death certificate for our loved one and NOW they say we also need an estate executor form, AFTER saying numerous times that we just needed the death certificate. On 11/26 i came in an spoke with the assistant manager about our options as to what we can do since the unit itself is expensive for something that we have no access too (since we cant file for the paperwork that they want till AFTER 60 days) and she basically told me we had to pay for it or else it goes to auction. I get it, thats the law. But the lack of empathy is disgusting. Dont smile in my face and basically tell me i have to pay or else. if they had STATED that we needed ALL of the paperwork FIRST instead of sending us on a damn wild goose chase I wouldn't be so disgusted and annoyed with them. Today we find out they have double locked the unit and made "notes" on the account that we pay for. We will continue to pay till we can retrieve my boyfriends fathers things, BUT i DO NOT recommend this location just for the LACK of communication & empathy placed by the employees. read more

Most horrible experience I've ever had!!!!!! Back in January I had gotten a storage unit for my grandma and mother. I went to get it released out of my name in April signed the paperwork to release my name off of the account. Today a $300 withdrawal was removed from my account from this location. I called up to the store and a girl named shaniece answered so while I'm trying to get an explanation on why this happened she had an attitude because I was upset but let's be honest who wouldn't be?????? Me and my mom called up to the store multiple times to get an explanation and she had hung up on my mother and me twice. She stated that they ran a card without a name on it but I wanted to know why my card was on file in the first place if my name wasn't on the account anymore and also how you can run a card without a name but require a debit card with a matching identification card..... then it's like it was just brushed off and the girl told her manager that she was in fear for her life because I wanted to know why $300 was randomly taken out of my account. It's like it was funny to them. We're in the middle of a pandemic at that. All I'm gonna say is do better, please!!!!! Train your employees to not say anything if they don't know what they're talking about not to hang up in people's faces when they want an explanation on why you "accidentally" take that much money off of someone's card when it wasn't even supposed to be there in the first place sounds a little fraudulent to me.... do better please!!!!! read more

My son was stationed here in Virginia Beach. We had to store his belongings here for several months after his honorable discharge. We moved him back home to Texas. The employees Bailey and Courtney were the best! We had a few things not quite go our way as far as scheduling the move and losing the keys to the lock we put on the unit. These employees went above and beyond with helping us through this process. The unit was perfect. It was clean and just what we needed. I would highly recommend this place. I received the 1st month free.The property is really clean and I received my own access code to get thru the gates from 7-9pm I also received a free truck rental when I rented my unit. My initial contact with the owners was not good; but I needed the space. I provided them with proof of homeowner's insurance twice, and they never removed the insurance charge from my bill. I have another unit that I rent from Public Storage on General Booth. The people there are so friendly and helpful. read more

Just had items stolen from unit due to a broken door. Management did not demonstrate empathy. They provided the insurance information to me. read more

I have stored my goods at this location for many years, the managers have always gone out of their way to help me. I have not had any issues except for a light bulb change. The price is good and my stuff has always been safe. I am glad they don't have 24 hour access and a part time guard, it makes my wife and I feel safer. read more
