I Yelped and found Del Mar Tile and Stone and checked out photos and crossreferenced everything. He had stellar reviews everywhere. John the owner came out within a day or two (on a Sunday!) to look at the project and gave me a quote the next day. The project involved tiling on the fireplace surround and also into a cutout for our TV and the vent for the fireplace above. The quote was fair for the amount of work involved and I thought, hey if he's already there maybe get him to re-do tile in one of our bathrooms (a much smaller project)? I texted him a video and measurements of the space prior to him working on the space and he was able to quote the bathroom without coming back! Super cool. The quality of work is amazing. I am a detail-oriented, visual person and with the beautiful black marble with white veining that we chose (with a fluted pattern!) I wanted to be particular with what tiles we should use and which we should not. He was more than accommodating and we have a beautiful, beautiful fireplace now and a gorgeous bathroom. Not everybody could do this job. It was technical as a fireplace surround. The tile contractor had to use the right mortar and he had to level it out just right. As we homeowners know, rarely is your house completely true and flat and square everywhere and the tile had to be done to accommodate all of the imperfections in our visually perfect house. The corners and leveling had to be perfect. He had to carve into drywall to make the corner of the fireplace square. It was crazy and it would have taken me decades of experience to do this myself (enter John). The cutouts for the fireplace and the TV surround had to be perfect. The bathroom turned out flawless as well. John is an awesome person and was so kind and courteous to our pets (he told my dog Thatcher she was beautiful) and was respectful of other contractors we were having at the house at the same time. His son Hunter and his other employee Carlos who worked with him were conscientious, clean, and all three were just all around good people. Please see photos! They do not do the fireplace justice!

Corey made sure we knew every step of the job was communicated to us. The team arrived on time and ready to work every day of the job. We used them again for to replace all our hallway and bathroom doors and flooring in each bedroom. Their attention to detail is excellent and when anything concerns arose, Corey was on there to make sure we were satisfied and happy with the results. JMM excelled in the "first-time remodel project" experience. I worked mainly with project manager, Corey. He visited both the plumbing and tile store to pick out the products. The partners he worked with were both professional and non pushy. We especially enjoyed working with Jenna at Ferguson. As you can see in the photos, we LOVE our new bathroom. Out of all my past experience with home remodeling , this team is the best. They are very professional and very fast paced. They are always punctual on time and work hard through out the day. Every day beginning with covering the floor and ends with removing the cover and even mopping the floor to keep the house as clean as possible, least disruption as possible. They did the drywall, putting new tiles, painting. They did the work thoroughly and in great detail without cutting the corner. That greatly relieve my stress and worries. I got a reasonable quote from Hector and agreed to have the work done. This was a big job as I had the wood like tile installed throughout the whole house (2,364 sq ft). My wife and I had just bought the house and wanted to do some remodeling before we moved in. We remodeled the floors, kitchen, and repainted the house. I quickly realized that communication isn't Hector's strong suit. He would respond quickly, but with a response that didn't make much sense due to spelling/grammar errors and incomplete sentences. Based on the other reviews and pictures of work that was completed, I had felt that the job would have been done correctly nonetheless. During the time that work was being performed, I had to travel for work internationally for 2 weeks and I wasn't able to view the house while work was being done. Hector did send me picture updates as the installation took place, but of course didn't showcase the lack of quality in the workmanship. By the time I got home from my work trip, the painters had already covered the floors so that they could start painting to meet our move in deadline. After the painters were finished, it was obvious the issues with the tile. I reached out to Hector and it seemed like he was going to honor his work and fix the issues. Hector rescheduled many times and then eventually stopped all communications. I paid him over $12K for his labor, not including tile, and I'm very disappointed. You can't pull out a chair from the dining table without a foot getting caught on the uneven tile and you can feel the unevenness when walking around with bare feet. I've tried to clean the excess grout that is on top of tile, but have had no luck. I'm now going to need to hire another contractor to fix his issues. Overall, I would say absolutely do NOT use him. The work was sub par, the communication was terrible, he didn't do the work that was promised, and refused to fix the issues.

5.000 stars. Hector completed our commercial bathroom tiling job to perfection. We needed two small…read morebathrooms tiled out, and, by far, he was the most responsive through Yelp, and later, text, and his prices were beyond fair. The quality of work is impeccable, and he and his team were seasoned pros. He knew, for example, that the sanded ground recommended by Arizona tile would not work for the Subway tile walls and, on his own, bought replacement grout (we reimbursed him) that would work better for that purpose. Hector does require that you pick out the tile and grout and deliver it to your space. Tile is super heavy, so bring a truck and a couple of friends or have it delivered. The work is impeccable, and though he quoted us 3-4 days to complete the project, he and his team finished in 2 days. That is what we call over-delivering. Being a small business owner, I really appreciate when fellow business owners are responsive, customer-oriented, and fair. He did a good enough job to where I would happily have him tile my house (and we are now considering this!) We paid half of the fee halfway through the project and the second half at completion of the project.

I reached out for help and he ghosted me. I had to watch YouTube videos to get it done correctly. I'm worried they installed others things incorrectly as well. Roger never responded to me asking for help. I trusted him and am really sad and disappointed by this company. Made zero effort to fix what was wrong. The shower is inconsistent with hot water and now, I have to hire another contractor to fix it. This experience makes me feel scared to hire contractors. Just really heartbroken by this company and defeated. Not a good company to do business with.
