We had the Korean bbq and a hot pot. The mushroom flavored broth was very unseasoned and bland. the bbq meats were seasoned and they offered a good selection of vegetables. They have a large sauce bar with different flavored soy and chilli sauces that we were not aware of at all till we got up to get dessert which was just three offerings. All the drinks are extra and so are the à la carte desserts. The service wasn't knowledgeable about the food differences or seasonings. The ambiance was nice and restsurant is new. read more

The restaurant itself is clean and very inviting. The smell of the delicious food being cooked at the tables just makes you want to sit down right away and start eating immediately! So many choices of meat cuts and options for your hot pot and or the grill is more than enough to make anyone happy. The sushi in the side bar which comes with the meal is awesome as well rivaling some other sushi spots in Corpus. It's a great date night place to eat so you can both have fun cooking, laughing about how one of the two people want to take over the grill:) the hot pot is amazing as well. If you are really hungry you can do both the hot pot and the grill. It is a lot of food though and the table can get hot so some sweating can occur. Love that Corpus Christi has more Asian dining options including this bbq and hotpot spot! Unfortunately, I have been here a few times and a lot needs to be improved. Some days the service is great but most of the time it is very slow. There are very long wait times in between ordering and receiving meats. The buffet does help with this but when you come for ayce bbq and hotpot you do want to eat the actual meat cuts. My last visit the meats were extremely overmarinated and unbearably salty. Also, the meats are not cut properly against the grain which makes them extremely tough. I really wanted to like this place but I hope they can fix these issues. It was not very good. The service was not very good and they weren't very nice and explanatory about how it worked. Barely checked on and it was not a very fun experience. The broth was flavorless the meats was too salty. I was so excited about this place opening, literally waiting for a year to open, and it felt lacking. First of all the atmosphere was very nice and clean. They welcome you immediately and take you to your table. Our waitress Lynae Sadie was the absolute best ever service I've received at a restaurant. She was very patient and knowledgeable of the menu and even gave me suggestions that will be my go to items such as the ribs and lamb. The food was seasoned to perfection and us getting to cook it was so cool. The buffet has wings spring rolls sushi and the list goes on. We will definitely be returning. That was the first all you can eat buffet that I ate all I could eat but didn't feel over stuffed. Another lady I believe to be upper management also was very nice and checked on us as well. It's roughly 40.00 per adult but it's worth every dollar. My husband and I really needed to do something different and I want to thank JPot for providing such a wonderful atmosphere. We like this place so much we've been there a few times since they opened. It's so pretty on the inside! The first time we went was a couple weeks after they opened so there was a couple issues but the service has always been good! We do both the bbq and hot pot. The wait staff is extremely good and explaining how everything works. My favorite soup base is the healthy herb! The veggie section is always stocked and fresh (I highly recommend trying the wood ear mushrooms) They have a small hot buffet section and I love the bbq and lemon pepper wings. They also have a sushi section that's pretty solid. Then you have a sauce bar that includes soy sauce, chili oils, hoisin sauce, chopped garlic and so much more. I love mixing the j pot soy sauce with a lil sweet chili sauce and chili crisp oil. This place has just gotten better every time we go. I hope it stays as good as it's read more

Overall: 3.3/5 Food: 1.8/5 -Meat was rather low quality. Cheaply made. -Broth was very underseasoned. It tasted watered down, and rather bland with such a small hint of flavor. -Buffet food was okay. The Shrimp tempura is unique in a good way. Ambiance: 4/5 -Very nicely decorated. -Warm ambiance with just the right amount. -Only reason they didnt get a 5 is because the AC was very hot and the music they played wasn't very good. Service: 4/5 -It was good, food came fast and our server was attentive. Other things to note: -The grill they use is a very big concern for a fire hazard. Its an open grill with big holes, which is not suitable for the type of BBQ that they have, because you need to spray oil, oil + open flame is not a good combo. Its a matter of time before it becomes an actual fire hazard. Preferably would like to see a flat round grill in the future. -The ground was very dirty around the buffet area, however its understandable due to the volume of custome that was there. read more

Food wasn't that great. The cold bar was not cold, the seaweed salad was a bit slimy and the kimchi was warm. The hot bar wasn't much better all the fried food was old. I ordered beef shrimp and brisket. The beef and the shrimp was ok but the brisket was nothing more that a few slices of fat with some meat. Cooked and and couldn't eat it. The Hot pot broth was ok. Nothing spectacular. However the wait staff was awesome and engaging. Overall. It's new, so much is to be forgiven, but the things you would expect to be poor were actually pretty great. The young lady the greeted us at the front counter was great, our server was knowledgeable and helpful, and generally everyone had the right attitude. However, the food runner brought the wrong meats and noodles for our HotPot, and the buffet was sparce at best. I could chalk that up to opening recently, but it still should be mentioned. What is more troublesome were the number of flies in the dining room, the gross floors, sticky tables, and the $79 price for two hotpots and sweet teas. It seems like they rushed to open and didn't take the time to do the final touches before opening to the public, and with average-at-best food, I can't imagine going again for that price. read more

We visited this place for my son's birthday and family. We thoroughly enjoyed our first time there, especially the friendly staff and manager. They greeted us warmly, showed us the ropes, and continued to check on us throughout the meal. They even refilled our drinks and asked if we needed anything else. Went to Jpot today for dinner. We did both the broth and the bbq menus. I liked the boiling pot very much. The flavors were good and hot. I recommend the tomato very good flavors. The BBQ side however very disappointed in the grill temp in the middle of the table, the cook times were longer than the menu suggests. Couldn't turn the heat up fixed at one temp. We arrived around 5 PM and waited about an hour to be seated. Most of the staff were friendly and welcoming, but our experience with our server, Melanie G., was disappointing. She asked if we'd ever been to a Korean BBQ -- we have, many times across Texas -- but then proceeded to tell us we weren't cooking our food correctly. Oddly, she didn't provide basic tools like scissors or tongs until we saw another table using them and asked a different staff member for help. The hot and cold bar was great with plenty of variety. That said, the grill was very small and not centered on the table, which made it tough for our group of six adults to share and cook food comfortably. Melanie never checked in on us for meat refills and didn't take our drink orders. The only time she returned was an hour in, to remind us we had 30 minutes left before the dining time limit. One major issue: the restaurant had a Facebook post stating that kids under 12 eat free -- but we were still charged for them. When we brought it up, it wasn't addressed or resolved. The food and atmosphere were great, but the service and inconsistency around the kids-eat-free policy left a bad taste. With better training and clearer communication, this could be a top-notch experience. read more

I'm giving it three stars because we went during their soft opening. If this restaurant had been open a while, I would have rated them much lower. This was our first time to a restaurant like this, and our waiter had a really hard time explaining the way everything worked. I was really disappointed with the hot-pot. My daughter and I ordered the chicken and brisket for the hot-pot and they were out of both meats; my bf didn't get the hot-pot. So, we paid $15 for absolutely nothing ($5 fee pp to have both hot-pot & bbq) bc we never touched the broth. I also ordered brisket for the bbq and it never came out. The *one* meat me & my daughter had for the entire dinner, and it was SHARED, was a filet mignon. My bf was able to get all the meats he ordered. Our total for 3, two adults and a child, was $123, before tip. I didn't complain while we were there bc it's during their soft opening and I wanted to extend patience to the restaurant and server. Our server really needs additional training. We will go back to give it another try once they've hopefully ironed out all the kinks. read more

The quality of the meat is not it at all. The meat sucked and was not good at all. We ordered the filet mignon and it wasn't a filet cut it was a sirloin cut. Which isn't what we asked for at all. For the wait staff it took forever to get drink refills. I left hungrier than when I came in. No one came to get the dirty plates out of the way until the very end. DO NOT COME HERE!!!
