    The maggot

So good that maggot in my food was just extra protein it was so delicious and it gave me a sickness that just made me stronger, thanks chef

    Roach leg in the salt

will never go back!! food was ok. ladies restroom was disgusting... there were 2 stalls, one was un flushed, and the other had two small "puddles" on the floor in front of the toilet. soap and paper towel dispensers were broken (although they did provide a pump bottle of soap and a roll of paper towels). I could have let the restroom pass, but I noticed a thick black hair on the salt shaker, and on closer inspection, there was a roach leg inside! I told to employees about all of it, and both had the same response," sorry".

Pretty glad I found this place. I was surprised to find a place in Corpus that made lumpias and pancit. The pancit was some of the best I had in a while. As for the service, my server Wanda was excellent and very professional.

The place said it's Taiwan Restaurant but when you come inside, they have a sign with Filipino food. Staff is super friendly! Loved that it's not a buffet like most typical Filipino restaurants you find here in Texas. I came in a little early so I ordered the tocino with fried rice. I was so glad it was made just like back home and it was good! Big portions for only $10.95! Ask for some sawsawan- yum! I also ordered lumpia. 6 pieces for $2.95 sooo good! I was so full and was bummed I couldn't eat any halo halo. Will definitely be back when I'm in CC again.

I used to defend this restaurant from people claiming the service was bad or that they found roaches in their food. It never happened to me and I just couldn't see that happening here. This all changed the other day when I went to pick up takeout to bring back to work. I am a registered nurse, I don't have much time on my lunch but being that I had a medical appointment prior to going to work that day, I decided to get lunch from here bc i was fasting earlier in the day. I called ahead that way it would be ready when I got there. When I arrived, my order was sitting with the cashier. I told the cashier I was there to pick it up, to which he replied "give me a moment". He wasn't doing anything but proceeded to bring menus to like six tables, pick up dirty dishes and greet other customers. All the while two waiters are just standing against the wall chitchatting when they should be doing what the cashier is doing. Covid is going on, cashier should not be handling money and menus and having direct customer interaction except when checking out. Germs spread that way. Additionally, having done this, he had me waiting at the front for over five minutes with a growing line. I was tempted to grab my plate and go. When he got back, I mentioned that the waiters should be doing what he just did instead of him, he needs to wash his hands, and that he shouldn't keep customers waiting so long with takeout as most are on a short lunch break and don't have that much time. He mumbled something back, i couldn't really hear it and just ignored what i said. I took my food and left, drove back to work. I started eating my sesame chicken and after about halfway through, I noticed a HUGE ROACH in my food! It was cooked with it. Gross. I called the restaurant, they offered to refund, but that was it. I understand there isn't much that can be done (in that situation) but this happens here TOO often. This restaurant needs to be gutted and thoroughly cleaned and renovated to prevent the roach infestation that occurs here. I hear of too many incidents with people having roaches in their food at this restaurant. It's disgusting, unsanitary, and the health department needs to shut this place down. I felt queasy the rest of the day, and because of that I recommend you do not eat here unless you enjoy insects in your food.

Sweet & sour fried fish delicious

First time here & everything was delicious! Met me & my family expectation. & everyone was very nice! Will come back here again! Need to try more from their menu, so much to choose! Loved it

Hunan beef with fried rice and egg roll (lunch special.) Low mein with chicken, fried rice and egg roll.

The lunch special is a good deal and I enjoyed the hunan beef, but the dining room wasn't very clean. They brought the food out quickly. It struck me as authentic with decent portion sizes. The fried rice has very little egg and no vegetables. They also charged me $2 to pay by card without verbally informing me.

Okay for quick asian fix....definitely had better. Had craving for Filipino food and the menu had decent choices along with the Chinese food. Would I go back? Sure, if the craving hits again and I don't have mom around to cook for me....

On the occasions I've gone in, the restaurant has always appeared clean and well kept. Customer service can be a little hit or miss, which matches what some other reviewers have mentioned. I've had visits where the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and others where I was simply stared at while waiting to order without so much as a greeting. It hasn't been bad enough to keep me away, but it's noticeable. The food is why I keep coming back. The bánh mì sandwiches are excellent, especially the short rib version. My wife is obsessed with the green onion pancake, and I wish I knew the recipe for the dipping sauce they serve with it. The pork belly steamed buns are absolutely worth ordering, and the crispy pork belly rice is still my favorite dish on the menu. The rich pork belly, fried rice, fresh salad, and vinaigrette all work really well together. If you haven't been, it's worth a visit. Try a few different dishes and you'll probably find a favorite of your own.

The prices are still fair, which is getting harder to find these days, and you actually feel like you're getting your money's worth. If you go, start with the Shanghai lumpia. They're that good. Honestly, it's worth buying extra to keep in the freezer at home because you'll want them again. My usual order is the pancit bihon with combo meat, and the portions are no joke. You're getting multiple meals out of it without feeling like you overdid it. It's packed with flavor but doesn't sit heavy, which I appreciate. The lechon kawali is another standout. The pork comes out crispy on the outside with a tender center, and the sauce they serve with it really pulls it together. Every staff member I've encountered at the counter has been nice and knows their menu well. The inside doesn't really focus at all on ambiance, but that's not why I go.
