They were sneaky and stashed some huge mushrooms in my General Tso's Chicken--a welcomed surprise. Don't be put off by the aesthetics, they put their money into the volume of food they give with your order and their low prices. BYW...Plan on getting two full meals from an order. And they still have those little orange Duck Sauce packages that are an essential addition to my meal! I've been feeling bad and I really wanted some wonton soup so my husband stopped by here to grab me some because it is close to our house. He got the Hunan chicken for himself. The wonton soup was fabulous. A lot of wontons and a delicious broth. He loved the Hunan Chicken. We liked it so much he went back today to get me some egg drop soup and he got the lunch sweet and sour chicken. The egg drop soup was wonderful and hit the spot. His sweet and sour chicken was also very, very good but let me tell you, the portion size blew our minds. There had to be over a pound of chicken. It was juicy, white meat chicken with a crispy, thin coating. Usually restaurants give you 90% rice and a little bit of chicken but not here. He went through the drive through both times and he said the wait was very short and the employees were very friendly. It smells delish the minute you walk in. they have two people manning the drive thru orders , it looked like a call center jajaja, means they r super busy. The girl behind the counter is most attentive. The egg drop and the hot and sour soups we're delish. Then comes the 5lbs of food in a styrofoam container. I understand now why the to go cont, it's sooo much food I got the low mein chicken , rice is perfectly flavored not overwhelming with fillers or foreign flavors, neither was the food all together. A 1-star rating is way too high for this restaurant. This used to be a good place to eat but what we were prepared I wouldn't feed to my dog. It was so bland, unflavorful, dry and completely inedible. When I called to see if there was a chance of getting it remade, would even bring this "food" back to them, forget it-not a chance! The guy who answered said he would let his big boss know and the regular head cook would be back in three days. Look, I'm not asking for a refund, I just wanted my order to taste like food and not cardboard. If I had wanted steamed veggies and boiled rice noodles, I wouldn't have spent $40 for 2 entrees that couldn't be eaten. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. We will never go back. Even after years of going there, it only took this 1 visit to lose us forever. Drive thru service is horrible. The past 3 times we have been there we have had issues & they consider having you come back for what they forgot as the fix. Twice we ordered sweet & sour chicken & they didn't put in the sweet & sour sauce. Another time, we ordered 4 meals & they left out the fried rice on 3 of the 4 dinner meals. This time & possible our last time there, they not only forgot the sweet & sour sauce again but the meat on the pepper steak meat was so chewy & rubbery, it was not edible. When called, they just say come back for sweet & sour sauce. If we lived around the corner, that would maybe work; however, we drive 20 minutes one way to eat there. I find this very irritating when we tipped them $5 for the meals. Definitely not good customer service at the Williams location. read more

I've had better "fast food" Chinese food, BUT I was also in much bigger cities. For Corpus being as small as it is, with so many big market choices, this is my go to. Always hot and fresh, reasonably priced too. I'd rather eat at the restaurant over delivery because you get a soup with your meal. They have a male employee there that will make your day so bright! Last night he kept singing a jingle from a television commercial. After the day I had at work, it was refreshing. Their large shrimp fried rice and hot mustard sauce get a 10 from me. Ok...I was kinda concerned that when I drove to the window to pickup our order, none of the workers handling the food had hairnets on. Or caps. Or any kind of hair control. That's something for the health inspectors to address. We didn't find any hair in our order, but still...the laws are the laws. Make the workers wear hairnets or caps. On the PLUS side...the helpings for the dinner orders are HUGE. Honestly...one order (my sweet and sour chicken) was $7.99 and could easily feed two generously. Outstanding value there. Hands down my favorite Phô place in Corpus. I got spoiled living in Dallas where there is a large Vietnamese population. The large comes in a punch bowl. The small is a big serving bowl size. The only thing I wish they had beef tendon, but I haven't found anyone here that does. I get the large and ask for extra noodles. My husband then gets to have as much as he wants, too. Food is good, customer service and speed of service is horrible. The past 3 times I've been, I have waited over 30 minutes to get the food. Quick to take your money yet forever to give you your food. The last 2 times I've gotten my order home and they don't put the sweet and sour sauce for your sweet and sour chicken. You'd think that should be an automatic thing but apparently not. I call them to have it brought to me since they deliver and they just say "you want to come pick it up?" Have been going to hunan express for past 10 years. Well last year my girlfriend was charged twice on her credit card for the food and I thought oh, may have been an honest mistake. I went there tonight and the manager said my credit card didn't go through so I paid cash. Well I then looked at my bank account online and saw that the charge did go through but she argued it didn't when I showed it in black and white....I will have my bank stop this but now know that hunan is getting away with stealing money from credit cards...that is just a fact. Got the general tso chicken and it was pretty under average. It was WAY overbreaded with hardly ANY chicken at all. They make up for it with the overly tangy/sweet/spicy sauce but to me it doesnt cut it. I have had plenty of other places locally that are the same price if not cheaper and are way better. So tonight my boyfriend and I went here to eat dinner. The food was okay, nothing spectacular. The whole time we were there all of the employees were arguing and cussing with each other. As we were about to leave two of the male employees started yelling at each other about where to place the order tickets. One of the men, (the one with the very long pinky nails, I wonder what that's for!) stormed away after cussing very loudly at the other guy. Very unprofessional, will never go back.
