My friend and I wanted a quick bite to eat without having to sit down in a restaurant and wait forever on a Saturday night when we were staying in this area for a night away. Long story short - this was the BEST gluten-free sandwich I have ever eaten. As someone who is allergic to gluten and has tried nearly every gluten-free bread under the sun, this was the BEST bread and freshest sandwich I have ever eaten. They were very generous with the veggies that they put on my sandwich and all of the condiments and cheese were fresh and delicious. We will absolutely be back to J Pace & Son the next time we visit in Boston. Grab yourself something to eat here the next time you are in the Seaport area. So good! read more

This is my go-to lunch please for work days. Definitely have a large variety of foods. For me, I either hot food or sandwiches. the sandwiches are amazing and you can customize them however you want. the hot food is a buffet that changes everyday. Also, you can always go with good old trusty pasta or lasagna. Great staff who always packs in your plate. Not sure what the color tags mean though as they sometimes put different colors on the same meal. maybe just depends on servers' mood that day read more

Stopped by here for dinner when we went to Comic Con. My boyfriend and I shared a buffalo chicken plate, which they messed up at first and gave us a regular chicken tender plate. The fries were good and the buffalo chicken was alright, but not worth the 15 minute wait on a quiet day. The assembly is confusing ordering certain things on certain sides. It's like a half grocery half convenience and half restaurant, and it is confusing. The employees seemed miserable and were doing their job very slowly, but the pricing is not the bad and that is why this is 3 and not 2 stars. read more

I work down the street and have always recommended this place to the people I work with! Their sandwiches are wicked good, the service behind the counter is a little intimidating if you don't know what you are ordering so I suggest looking ahead as the lines are crazy (especially during the summer!) They have more than just good sandwiches, they offer hot food, all sorts of goodies and part of the store is an Italian little grocery store inside. Omg. Had an overnight here. Our van driver... Out of all the restaurants near my hotel (rennainance waterfront), he recommended this one and one other. I chose this one. Ordered the Big Dig based on previous reviews. Got back to my room. Took just one bite with it cold as I wasn't ready to eat yet. Delicious. Time to eat, put it in micro for 30 sec. Omg like omg. I love places like this. It's a ridiculous amount of everything under one roof. I always find myself combining things that simply were not meant to go together, or just being a damn glutton. Like this morning when I ordered breakfast and also bought a slice of chocolate peanut butter cake. But I'm getting ahead of myself... One of the most important things to mention (and one of the reasons why I give this place a 3 instead of the 2 I was contemplating) is the friendly service. The people here are nice, they engage, they approach you instead of you having to hunt them down. It's nice. On to the food. I've eaten here twice: once for lunch and once for breakfast. They kind've cancel each other out. For lunch I had the Steak Bomb (sans salami cuz, ewww!) and it was awesome. It was easily the best that I've had in Boston. It was greasy and full of meat and it wasn't nasty cheap Steak'Um or anything, but it also wasn't stake tips which Boston restaurants seem to be overly fond of. I was super-pleased and when I noticed that they also served breakfast I vowed to come back because there are way too few breakfast spots in the Seaport area. I shoulda stuck with lunch. My first complaint is that it seemed like they had just started serving breakfast, as in they'd never had anyone order breakfast...ever. They didn't know the menu. I asked for a Bostonian, and it came out missing the hash browns and the coffee. I had to ask for both items, and had to point out that according to the menu they were included. It was also a steep price for breakfast ($8.95) so I wasn't willing to walk away without everything I was supposed to get with it. They went back into the kitchen and came back out with the hash brown. It was...man, I can hardly describe it. You won't believe me. You know those frozen hash brown patties you can get at the grocery store? It was one of those, fried beyond recognition. Seriously. It was so hard that when I opened the foil they put it in, it crumbled. Crumbled! Potatoes don't do that naturally, y'all. I wish I could take a picture and attach it to my review. Who lets something like that leave their kitchen? I thought it was a piece of toast at first. The bacon was good though, and the eggs were decent and fluffy. I also got an order of pancakes, which were greasy but still tasty. So, I don't think I'll be back to spend another $9 on breakfast, but I'll still pop in for lunch. read more

This is my favorite place to eat at lunchtime near the Seaport. It's not too expensive and the sandwiches are good without being fussy. I usually go for the caprese, which has fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, basil, and balsamic. The rolls are super fresh and the sandwiches are huge. The bakery also has great cookies. read more

The sandwiches here are to die for, and I love the variety of drinks and snacks I can grab to accompany my "Autobon" (turkey, bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, caesar dressing on an italian bun - I add marinated roasted red peppers, DELISH!). They have a ton of other food options available too, but the sandwiches are definitely the most popular. I'm working on the Waterfront this summer, so I grab lunch here. Came to Boston with the family for our kids fall break. We needed to grab a quick bite to eat because we were in a rush to start our tour. We went to the Starbucks in our hotel hoping to grab some breakfast sandwiches but they were sold out. We didn't have time to get anything so we left for the tour. While on the tour a super sweet couple mentioned how they had this fantastic breakfast at J Pace and Sons. Lucky for us it was right around the corner from our hotel.
