Best crabcake in the world!
Laura K.

My mom and I went here for lunch and we sat in a booth in the bar area. It's so nice and cozy up there with the big beautiful TVs and a bar that is a piece of art on its own. Our server was Vinny and he was a delight! Very friendly and professional and honest about what to order. I've had lump crabcakes many times before, and they all seem to be the same, full of breading. He assured Me that the Lump meat crabcake at J Marks is superb. Well, he was right! It was the best crabcake I've ever had in my life and I am 67 years old. I have also been to Maryland many times. I will always order this every time I go from now on. My mom and I enjoyed some specialty martinis and ended our lunch with an espresso martini. Danny, the manager is always so lovely and friendly. Our waiter VINNY was right there when we needed him every time. Excellent experience! Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Ambiance: 5/5

Bam Bam Shrimp

Really was torn between 3 * or 4*, but I will give them the 4. I feel like this steakhouse was going for more upscale and it did have that vibe. The food was good but not amazing and the drink options were okay. I think what made me go 4 was because they were not busy and the wait staff, she really tried to make it great (the best) and they had small July 4th specials like a free Bam Bam shrimp with 2 drinks and steaks had 1 free topping, which she got mushrooms and I got onions. So I will say it was a good experience, not average. The mojitos were tasty and well done. They had bread that was okay, but not great, just kind of a soft wheat roll with butter. The Bam Bam was great and tasted amazing. The steaks, we had the 10 oz Sirloins and they presented well and were cooked correctly and still hot. came with two onion rings and one side. I had Garlic Mashed Potatoes and my wife had the Plantains. No issues and everything was good. The mushrooms for the steak are a mixture, so may not appeal to those who are partial to one type. Overall an decent experience. but a little more expensive than I would have liked if it had not been for the specials. Might need to try again, but I would try others in the area first.

This is one of my favorite restaurants. Everything is delicious. We went here again the other night and brought others. Everyone agreed, it's yummy. The service is great and the manager Danny is amazing. The place is always clean. Oh and if you don't eat pasta they have zoodles. I get them all the time

We came here to celebrate NYE with our friends/neighbors in DBI (Deerfield Beach Island). Our group of 8 enjoyed our individual entrees, the cocktails and the Bam Bam Shrimp appetizer (reminds me of Kung Pao Shrimp). My hubs and I had our own version of Surf & Turf by splitting the Hawaiian Ribeye and Chilean Seabass. Both were outstanding. Thanks Kathy for the excellent service!

Blackened Chicken Pasta

I ordered a chopped salad, calamari, and blackened chicken pasta for two other co-workers and me. My salad had the wrong dressing; the avocado was a little brown. The calamari was somewhat okay, and the blackened chicken pasta was a real disappointment. The amount of grease on the to-go container was too much. My coworker stopped eating it because the pasta was drenched in oil. I always recommend this restaurant, but since the quality of the food is going down, this is it for me.

Excellent service from the manager Lindsay, to our server Ricardo Came for Christmas Eve dinner and Loretta was our server...she was a ray of sunshine. The food was soooo good and the Christmas decorations were great. We started with a spinach artichoke dip which we gobbled up. I had chicken parm with angel hair in Alfredo sauce. Not something I normally would order in a non italian restaurant but boy was it delicious. My sister had 5 cheese pasta which she loved. We had leftovers for another 2 meals. Such a great experience

Cheers to the beginning of our vacation in Pompano Beach

Our first time in Pompano Beach and we just stumbled across this restaurant. First look you would think it is a chain BUT it is NOT. It is a family owned establishment and one you should definitely try. The interior decor and ambiance bring you in and right from the start you get a good feeling it's going to be good. We went on a Monday night. Party of 2. No reservation. Hostess was pleasant told us it would be 10-15 minute wait. It was just under 10. We got a nice booth in the bar area. Our server was Connor. He came up to our table promptly Started with a glass of wine each which came quickly. We shared the soup (Tomato Basil) and salad (house) appetizer. I've found when it's shown as a combo the portions are smaller, but not in this case. It was a full bowl of delicious soup and the house salad was just as large and fresh and delicious. My husband opted for the Mahi Mahi with green beans and I had the Chicken Fierro. Both were delicious. Very nice size portions Mine came with two nice sized pieces of chicken; which resulted in being boxed up to have for lunch another day. We didn't have room for dessert but the choices sounded delicious (7 layer carrot cake, chocolate cake, or apple pie with ice cream) Connor was super attentive and gracious when we asked him for entertainment recommendations in the area. Overall we enjoyed our dinner and would definitely recommend

Chicken Fierro
Doug R.

Solo dinner on Monday 12/2/24. Arrived late without a lot of research or recommendations but the hotel manager suggested J Mark's. Atmosphere, dinner and service were all really good. Based on the bartenders recommendation I went with Fierro Chicken entree. Absolutely full of flavor, super rich and delicious. Chicken was really moist, adding the prosciutto and smoked mozzarella cheese, topped with Dijon white wine cream sauce puts this dish over the top! Amazingly delicious!

Seating capacity is 600+, so there is the possibility of dining without reservations, but in season, maybe not. Aside from the view and the size, the brunch/lunch menu offers quite a selection and the food is delicious. Their Eggs Benedict with wood fire Beef Tenderloin and the Shrimply Divine Avocado Toast are both really divine. The staff are cordial and attentive. I'd give a five star review but perhaps I'm old school thinking that the staff shouldn't look like they just woke up, nor just came passing by wearing Daisy Dukes. Where's the class? After all, it's not a sports bar. Other than that, I recommend the Beach House for your next meal.

The Intracoastal water views create a beautiful atmosphere, and the combination of fine dining, fresh food, and attentive service makes the experience even more special. I had the emerald kale salad with rotisserie chicken, a French dip sandwich with fresh-cut fries. Also, ordered the signature crisp martini and half way through the server changes out my Martini glass with a chilled new one. Now that is service!!! Everything was delicious and beautifully prepared. The spinach dip appetizer was insanely delicious and definitely a standout! Warm towels are offered for your hands, adding a thoughtful touch to my dining experience. If you're looking for a restaurant with great food, a lovely waterfront setting, and an elevated dining experience, this is a wonderful place to enjoy a meal. It was Monday, so many places were closed. We came across Crafty Crab, which was open with a few customers lingering just inside. There was no apparent host(ess), so I asked a gal... "Is this place good?" She asked if I wanted an honest answer. Of course! (I always trust the locals.) And she pointed us to J.Mark's, saying it was the best. Inside this restaurant were two smiling greeters, including Dani, the manager who ended up giving us personal service when she learned it was our first time in. The menu is vast, which Dani said put her off 18 years ago when she first came here (restaurant was just two-yrs-old then). But she grew fond of the fact that they have everything to match anyone's taste, knows the full repertoire like the back of her hand, and says she's even able to prepare each item on the menu herself. She got to know a little about what we like, then recommended the perfect... and most affordable choices for our tastes and hunger level. Hubby enjoyed an exotic mushroom with Swiss burger, plus (on Dani's recommendation) he ordered for me a (incredibly moist and delicious) crab cake on the side (decorated with a small swirl of yummy green sauce and roasted red peppercorns). I lean towards vegetarian, seafood and dairy options; so happy to see the rarely available baby limabeans, which Dani made sure the bacon stayed out and the delicious buttery spices in. Because I was having a hard time deciding, Dani took charge and surprised me with a plate of the most colorful chunky-good cooked carrots you can imagine. Ginger beer was my NA choice, which they served up in a cold pilsner glass to match my mate's favorite brew, Yuengling. Promise I'm not trying to show off my writing skills here. LOL We just loved the place and I'd like others to experience the same joy. Everyone I saw in this beautiful place seemed happy to be there... including the staff, which is very rare.

The wings got smaller, the steaks were noticeably thinner, and even the Ahi tuna portions shrank to the point where it just didn't feel worth it anymore. Eventually, we stopped coming altogether. Fast forward to today, and it's a completely different story. Everything we ordered was outstanding. The steaks were massive, juicy, and cooked to perfection, easily some of the best I've had anywhere, and I've paid top dollar at high-end steakhouses. The Hawaiian ribeye, in particular, was incredible. The wings were huge and packed with flavor, honestly some of the best wings I could ask for. They've also stepped up their starters. The new bread with honey butter is insanely good, and the avocado eggrolls with tamarind sauce are absolutely next level. I added on the crab cake which is of insane quality, big lump pieces, it's actually hard to find breading. Service was just as impressive, attentive, smooth, and genuinely welcoming. I even had the chance to speak with the manager, Dani, who explained they made a major shift away from distributors that were hurting their quality. They went back to basics, focused on what made them great in the first place, and it shows in every bite. This was one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time, across any cuisine. J. Mark's is back, and better than ever.

He informed me that the burger won first place at the Boca Burger Battle in 2025, making it the best burger in South Florida! The burger was spectacular! It had melted pepper jack and Gruyère cheeses with sautéed onions and mushrooms in a bourbon sauce. It was sweet and saucy. The fries were incredible as well.
