Great service and cocktails! The white cosmo was delicious! Definitely recommend! Try the dry rubbed wings too!

Just reopened newly renovated great food drinks and people. Has a good size parking lot at the restaurant and a second lot at the intersection. Keno and a lottery kiosks. Better TVs than most sports bars.

Very friendly - on both sides of the bar. It's an over 40 crowd and nobody has the faintest whiff of an attitude. Outstanding kitchen. Wonderful people. The place is actually called "J.J. Brannelly's" so "Brannelly's Cafe" is inaccurate.

Nice big screens at the bar

Cheap drinks! Did not try the food! How can you not love cheap drinks!? Tired of paying $12 a drink? How about a highball for about $6 .

Eugene O'Neill's - Pickle burger and drinks

Eugene O'Neill's is NOT that precious, piped in Irish Rovers (don't get me wrong....I love a good unicorn tale) music, with a smattering of apostrophe'd food selection names on the O'Menu. This is a solid, finely vetted menu with amazingly good food, even better Bloody Mary's, and staff who are lovely. And I use that word intentionally. Fish and chips were light, fries AMAZING (simple and crunchy and with malt vinegar? Kooky delicious). The buffalo tenders were on the small side-which I prefer- not too spicy and cooked perfectly. The house salad super fresh and it deducted any calories from the tenders, obviously. The Reuben was grilled, and I mean GRILLED! Look at it! My husband is a borderline reuben snob and he breathed it in. He ordered sweet potato fries, but it accidentally came out w regular. Because the fries are so delicious as is, it was no problem. But then the plate of sweet potato fries appeared and they were glorious. Ridged, fried crisp and perfectly. Just lovely people at EO's. We were there on a Friday at 12:30pm, very quiet, dark wood (I mean, Irish pub) and cozy. I saw a flyer for a monthly book club that happens, and other neat events, as well. Def check out this wonderful place....I promise that you'll feel as if you've been there a thousand times before!

The shrimp Mozambique had a really good cook on the shrimp and nicely flavored seasonings and sauce. The fish and chips had a decent fry on the fish batter without being too browned. The slaw and sauce were decent as well. Some of the fries were over fried, but otherwise decent. The haddock chowder had some dairy in the broth, but wasn't a thick chowder. The cod and clams were cooked properly, with a nice blend of celeriac. The seafood fra diavolo was really delicious, balancing spice with savory. The seafood was also properly rendered here. Great eats!

The barkeeps (one British--Will, one Irish--Adam, addressed me as either 'love' or 'darlin', so I was smitten from the get-go LOL! (Will resembled a young, bearded Jimmy Fallon). The Bees Knees cocktail was delicious alongside the pork schnitzel with apple bacon slaw. Fun fact: they don't serve dessert of any kind, but they sure can make an espresso martini instead! (It was unpretentiously delicious).

Great ambiance and food. Once they get Jamsey back on the shots it's the best bar in Hyde Park.read more

It is not easy to gain access to this place…read more I arrived here at noon on a sunday, eager to start a UYE day drinking campaign. The door was locked, and the windows were opaque. I wasn't sure if the bar was abandoned, closed, or if they were just unwilling to accept my business. Moments later, what could only be a "regular" sullenly unlocked and opened the door for me. I asked "are you open?" and got an affirmative grunt in response. Master McGrath's is actually quite spacious and clean; the bar has about 15 seats, and is well-lined with small flat-screen TVs, the better to see the Sox beat the snot out of the O's. They have an internet jukebox, and a popcorn machine for free snacking. I knew right away that I was in a bar frequented almost exclusively by regulars; the surprisingly cute female bartender was eager to prepare drinks for the customers walking *in from the back door* before they sat down. I received a fairly standard silent-treatment half hour, followed by a cautious inclusion in some casual conversation. Being a gregarious individual, I soon was laughing and chatting with the regulars, and even had one of them buy me a drink, a favor I returned later. I was not able to get a Jameson - the man who bought me the drink explained that "if there's a bottle of Jameson, I'll drink it all." Of course, I didn't know if he was a manager, owner, or regular customer, but he is apparently important enough to the management that in an Irish pub, they don't stock Jameson. The buffalo fingers are top feckin' shelf. Definitely worth ordering. Hyde Park is a neighborhood that could use some more folks making the trip down to see. Lisa, the bartender, is cute and friendly, and will chat you up about shark week. All in all, not a bad way to spend three hours on a Sunday afternoon.
