    Burger and fried chicken sandwich

Ok it's kind of weird to give the local townie place 5 stars but it's really better than it has any right to be at a great price. Also weird I've never reviewed it so here we go. You're not gonna get a craft cocktail but everything else is available including lots of beers, a decent $5 house wine and excellent sandwiches (w stellar onion rings), seafood dishes and great steaks. Oh and the chowder. Watch some sports or not, bar or booth, It's great.

I enjoyed this local spot, I have been waiting to try this spot for a while and I am happy that I did there is a lot of local art work and the food was good my only issue was the clam belly, I wish they offered strips

The Galway House in Boston sure takes you back -- this place started in 1960, and that's exactly what it feels like walking in. We were greeted by a few servers almost immediately -- it felt good to know you were recognized. We grabbed ourselves a booth, ordered a few pints and some wine, and then put in our food order. We had the seafood platter -- broiled (key, not fried). Wow -- it had about 8 scallops, shrimp, and a nice piece of fish -- all tasty. We also ordered the steak tips -- they were great. I think they use the same marinade I make. Steamed broccoli, summer squash, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, and fries rounded out the sides. Oh, get this -- for an extra $2, you can add the clam chowder when you order a main, so we definitely opted for that. All in all, it was a good experience, and I would definitely go back. Saluti

    Daily specials

I got there pretty late so a few of the daily specials were gone. I ordered the stuffed sole which was pretty good. The meal came with soup or salad & for a $2 up charge I could substitute for chowder, which I did. The chowder tasted very good except for the clams which had a rubbery texture. I also ordered the calamari as a starter. The breading was nice but it was not worth $10. All in all a good meal for the price. I will certainly try it again.

My friends and I recently decided to give Galway another go. Once again, the ambience was great. I love the feel of a local Irish bar playing Boston sports on the TVs with the bar "regulars" hanging out. Our waiter was nice. We had a bit of trouble with the food -- a member of our party has an olive allergy and requested no olives on a dish, but was given them anyway. This happened last time we visited as well. We stayed for about an hour and were never brought water. Small things that can be fixed but definitely took away from the experience. Galway is great but would benefit from refocusing on details!

    Stuffed Sole Newbury, excellent

Pleasantly surprised, good good and service. Food is very good for value and freshness, and preparation and flavor. I was tempted by the orange glazed duck but this being my first visit I didn't want to be disappointed if the food was not up to snuff. Ordered sole Newburgh. 2 delicious rolls sole fillets stuffed w bread crumbs. Who even has this on a menu in Boston, it is underrated what a good dish it actually is. Ordered the sauce on the side and picked the broccoli. Broccoli came steamed perfect, fresh good size crowns. 18.00 Laid back place w bar on one side table and booths on the other. Patron raving about chicken Marsala. Someone else meatball sub.

A great hamburger! Best one I have had in Boston. Friends loved the clam chowder and their salads looked great too.

You can go tapas and share or not depending on your style. We like to try everything and suggest you do the same. It was 9 of their plates plus a dessert. It was way too much food (they had said it would be). We could have simply picked what we wanted to eat and gotten a reasonable amount of food for a reasonable price. I do not recommend "The Ride". As for the food, we liked the tuna tartare (a tad salty, but still good) and the hamachi crudo. The brussels are noteworthy at Brassica, so it was nice to get them - they are charred with maple and miso and served over white rice. The pork belly was fine. The lobster pasta was so spicy we couldn't eat it. The oxtail was excellent - I loved the flavors of the tomatillo; ironically, we probably would have not ordered that unless it came with The Ride, and I am glad we got to try it. The one thing we had that didn't seem to be in the menu was duck, which was very good. We also were served a pepperoni pizza and caesar salad, neither of which I could eat because I was so full. And the salad was so salty, I wouldn't have been able to eat it anyway. Dessert was tiramisu, which was solid. I'll go back to brassica, but pick my own dishes, and ask for ones that aren't spicy and have less alt in them,. To be fair, most restaurants over salt their food these days, which is so unfortunate.
