Wanting a second opinion, I took the car to a Toyota dealership for an inspection. After a full evaluation, the dealership found no leaking struts, no suspension defects, and no abnormalities requiring repair. That discrepancy raises an obvious question: how does a car go from allegedly needing suspension repairs at one shop to having a clean bill of health from a Toyota dealership? The GR86 is not your average commuter car, and its suspension setup is more specialized than what many general repair shops work with daily. In my case, the car is also not driven hard or abused. It's used normally, with no track use, no canyon driving habits, and no aggressive treatment that would reasonably point toward premature suspension wear. It's also worth noting that summer performance tires naturally wear faster than standard all-season tires, and can sometimes show uneven wear patterns due to the factory negative camber built into the suspension geometry. That alone is not necessarily an indicator of a mechanical issue. While I can't say exactly what led to the diagnosis, the experience left me questioning whether there was enough familiarity with this platform to accurately distinguish normal characteristics from actual mechanical issues. When I called AAA they sent me to Fisher/Martin automotive which was 1 hour and 15 minutes from where I was. I was so upset I didn't understand why I had to go so far for a repair. That's how I met Danny, who I later learned is one of the owners along with his cousin Oscar. From the beginning, what stood out was how straightforward and reasonable everything felt. The labor rate was fair, the communication was clear, and instead of pushing one expensive path, Danny took the time to explain different options for replacement parts and what made sense financially. I live in Woodland Hills, and Sharp's is in Oxnard, so this was not exactly around the corner for me. But after that first experience, I felt comfortable enough making the trip because it already felt worth it. After that, I came back with my own 2016 Chevy Volt for an A/C issue. Since that car does not have a traditional belt-driven compressor setup, I knew it was going to take more than generic trial-and-error diagnosis. I eventually was directed to Mario's Garage and I'm so happy I found this place. As a woman, I'm always on high alert with mechanics taking advantage of me assuming I don't know anything about cars (tbh I don't lol). At Mario's Garage they were honest with me, charged me very reasonable prices, and were very understanding of any financial restraints I had. They spent extra time explaining to me what was going on with my car because I was honest about how little I know about cars. Dont bring your car here!…read more I had my radiator was replaced when Jason was still here. Jason was a really great man. Floyd, however, is very rude and condescending. 6 months after my radiator was replaced, the new one started leaking. I called and spoke to Floyd, who stated that if the radiator is the issue, they would replace it under warranty. Three times I brought my care here, and the first two times he said it's not the radiator. So those first two times he charged me a diagnostic fee. This being my only car, I had to pay Uber fees to get it there, and get back. On top of the diagnostic charges. The first time he told me it was the water pump and tried to charge me $900. I bought it for $100 on rockauto.com and replaced it, and still had a coolant leak, so it wasn't the water pump. I took it back to him and he told me it's the coolant hose and charged me yet another diagnostic fee. I let him replace it, and it was still leaking coolant. I took it to him a third time and he said it is the radiator and replaced it for free. Or at least he says they replaced it. Once I got it back, I now have an oil leak that I didn't have before, and it still leaks coolant! The only reason I am not suing him is because I decided to get a new car. So he charged me two diagnostic fees when I was right the first time, and I had to pay Uber fees every single time I brought it here. Two Uber charges to get it there, two Uber charges back, three times. And that is on top of his incorrect diagnostic fees. And now I have a car that still leaks coolant, but also now leaks oil. I say it again, do not bring your car here!

Well, not only did they take the vehicle for a drive. It was driven to their home in Ventura and parked overnight on their property. It was brought back to the business the following day. Did they think that my friend was not going to find out. That's a liability issue on the Owner of the business. My friend let them know of the disappointment of what they did.
