I've had my car for 6 months. took it to them for transmission then they told me my starter broke, now the radiator fan isn't working. they have had it for 5 WEEKS they do not call and update me!! everytime i FINALLY get someone on the phone they tell me it's a new issue. i have to call them and ask what's going on and they NEVER answer the phone. they have also caused more problems than i had in the beginning, i had already had a diagnosis for my vehicle from another shop and now that they have it multiple problems keep coming up that have never been an issue before! I bought a 2011 Cheverolet Equinox from them. Salesman was great, no problems with him, other than he failed to submit my insurance documents along with my paperwork to CNAC, the financing arm of JD Byrider. As a result; CNAC put insurance on my Equinox and is expecting me to pay the $91 per month for said insurance, despite me having had full coverage on the vehicle from the day I took delivery of it. Additionally; my vehicle has been in the shop since last Wednesday. They called me at 4:02 pm on Friday, but left no messages. I called back at 5:09 pm on Friday, they were supposed to be there until 6 pm. I left a message on their answering machine with my phone number and letting them know I was returning their call; however, they never called me back. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. First of all, they are the biggest predatory lender I've ever seen. I do NOT know how they are still even in business or haven't gotten in trouble. When it's all said and done, I will end up paying 20k for a 5k car. A 2009 Chevrolet Impala!!!!! Because I was a dumb teenager and didn't understand what credit was. Now, that I'm trying to rebuild, nobody wants to help or give you a chance so you have to be subject to these types of businesses. They take advantage of your situation and vulnerability to make money off of you. And the WORST PART is now there's nothing I can do to get rid of this car without worsening my credit score even more. My credit union won't help me refinance because I'm paying more than triple what the car is worth and they obviously aren't going to take that kind of loss. So, the only thing I can do is pay it off and the thing isn't worth a piece of crap. Haven't had it for even a year and the AC is already broken. I have ZERO power steering so I'm struggling to drive anywhere with my 7 month old daughter in the backseat. There's a knocking in my dashboard on the passenger side EVERY TIME a door is opened. And, do they care? Absolutely not! don't even get me started on their financing company, CNAC. I've asked them MULTIPLE times to set up my payments to come out of my checks automatically. If I see that I have money in my account, I use it. I'm a single mom, every dollar counts. They tell me they have EVERY TIME and when it comes time to take it out, they don't and I spend the money thinking that I've already paid it and then they're calling and harassing me at my job 2 DAYS later during a meeting for their payment. When I asked her can she please call me back in about 20-30 minutes because I was currently in a meeting (obviously why I didn't answer my cell when she called) she was extremely rude. So I hung up on her. I am so over dealing with this company I could scream!!! But, now I'm stuck. $474/month for a death trap and I couldn't be more fuming at this point. I went home that night after buying the car and dissected the financial contract with my mom and there are a ton of little tricks hidden throughout the entire thing in tiny print that I didn't realize I was agreeing to. They knew I was in a hurry and desperate and totally ripped me off. The sales man Antonio Moorer lied to me about multiple things, and unfortunately I was so rushed and flustered during the contract signing I didn't notice the differences from what he said to what was written. When I met with the financial advisor earlier, she very rudely hammered me with questions about every single late payment on my credit report, which is funny considering they advertise being lenient and understanding about credit history. When they finally approved me and after finding a car that didn't rattle or have sticky stuff around the windows, we began talking about money. He (Antonio) told me this great realistic deal and price for the car, which all turned out to be a TOTAL lie that I believed. And here's the kicker, I can't return it. That contract is air tight and there is nothing I can do to get out of it. They lied to me, took advantage of my vulnerability and tricked me into doing something that is irreversible and that is just slimy business practice. read more

I bought my 2011 Ford Ranger in 2018 from the West Broad street location. Recently my front end started to shake very badly and steering was hard to hold. I took it in to have it checked out and the out come was not good. All 4 ball joints were out which was the major cause, they found that wheel seals and bearings needed replaced. They even found a transmition seal that was leaking and needed replaced. Thinking I would go broke paying for repairs I didn't know what to do. After having it checked I received a call from the service department that everything was covered under warranty and all I had to pay was $53 dollars and some cents. I got my truck back and it drives like brand new. All the people at West Broad are great and the have the best service department. read more

I just want to start off by saying dealing with this car dealership has been nothing but a headache and their financial company CNAC is a complete joke. First off the case managers are rude and disrespectful. Like how can you speak to customers the way they do. Definitely not a professional place I'd never recommend someone going here even having them as a last resort I wouldn't adverse you to go there. My first couple of months of having the car we had problems and nothing little, like transmission and power steering issues my first options was to drop it back to them like forget it but they are so rude and threatening your credit and it's just a mess. So once they repair it or claim to have we only found out they put a damn bandaid on it until the next thing breaks. J D Byrider it's a terrible company. The whole experience from going in to purchase the car having it serviced their warranty and paying it off was a nightmare. I am not sure how this company is not in trouble with the federal government for predatory lending. First of all they sell a $5,000 car for $15,000 and then they tack a large interest rate on top that. So you end up paying $25,000 for a $5,000 car. The customer service from beginning to end is horrible. From the salesman the service department and their financing Department they all have dropped the ball on several different occasions. The service department is not above putting junkyard parts in your car to repair it. Shortly after I purchased my automobile out the transmission went out, they informed me that they would install a transmission from a junkyard and not rebuild the one in my car. And when you pay it off it takes 6 weeks to get your title. I'm currently on week 10 since I have paid my car off and still haven't seen the title. I've called their finance department three separate times over the past couple weeks with Promises of we will email the proper people and call you back. I have yet to receive a call back and still have no title. So this is 10 weeks after I've paid the car off and don't have a title. I would not recommend anyone purchase a car from J D Byrider. I honestly regret ever doing business with you guys. CNAC is a predatory lender who takes advantage of people who have credit issues. They jack the prices of the cars up to 3 to 5 times their blue book value. They sold me a $4,000.00 car for nearly 20 grand. That is price gouging to say the least. I would have been better off going to a buy here pay here type thing. Not to mention, the customer service is horrible. For crying out loud I would get calls at 8:00 am in the morning when the payment was due. I had until 11:59 pm that night to get it in before it was late. I was driving on the freeway both cars same situation the car stopped mid drive and locked up and I couldn't accelerate the gas to go or anything I just played my car note that Friday by that Saturday my car was towed to the dealership.
