I was so stunned to see all of the negative reviews for BMWFS. I am not a Rep of FS, but I do work at a BMW Motorcycle Dealership, so I have had much first hand experience with them. I am also a customer of theirs, having had 3 motorcycle loans through them. Since I pay my bills on time, I don't have any issues as someone else mentioned. I find their rates to be extremely competitive, their website to be very easy to navigate, and any contact that I've had with employees to be very professional! Maybe I'm just lucky... but honestly having dealt with BMWFS professionally since 1998, I can't recommend them enough! read more

bmwfs sucks, I logged into my account to set up auto bill pay and it doesn't show my vehicle it just say if account is new it may not be added yet. So I called up waited on the phone for 10 min getting through all of the automated voices, finally got someone and I explained it to them. They told me I needed to talk to someone in tech support, so I waited 15 more min. Then I got some lady who was extremely rude and condescending and was never able to set up auto bill pay. I have to call on the phone every month and go through the auto voice stuff for ten minutes. Place is totally lame. read more

I just had a really horrible experience with BMW Financial. My car was declared a total loss after an accident. The insurance company paid BMW financial almost $6000 more than what the cost. Then with the payoff amount was BMW financial kept those funds and in addition build me in an extra $500 that was my deductible keeping in mind that they received $6000 extra after I spoke to customer service BMW refused to waive the deductible. i've at least three to but get another one. What a terrible way to retain clients. read more

Receive a letter dated March 5th, in my mailbox, March 17th. From Joe Bruno, Collection Analytics and Recovery Manager asking for payment of $250 excise tax. Implied I was in "collections and recovery". Went to town hall and checked - indeed BMW paid the bill - March 12th. Nice move to cement what was a positive relationship to one where I feel demeaned and wondering if they dinged my credit score - which by the way is 850+. Never again BMW or Mini. We bought our BMW from San Francisco BMW and was financed. We have been making payments for the past 4 years Always on time.My son somehow missed a couple of payments which I was not aware of it. so I called the number on the letter.I spoke with the agent. Duration of call was 8 minutes. She stated if you make the two payments and update the account they will wave the penalty. we update the account and I called yesterday and spoke with another agent. She stated that there were no notes on the account. We were late for two payments but they charged us 7 lates payments because by their mistake when the payment was made in January. and February they applied it to a wrong month. Any way I am so frustrated that I will never buy another BMW from BMW financial because they nickel and dim their customers . They really Chocked their customers in penalties rather than keeping their customer happy. Stay away from BMW FInancial service. read more

I traded in my 330i for an X3 as I was moving _ we had a miscommunication as i always use my PO Box for billings _ they were sending invoices to an old email address _ and I got new cell phone due to major hacking and didn't tell them.. now my car is repossessed_ and I owe them 5k of payments and they hold meeting to decide i must 46k to get it back, period. No negotiating and no bonus points for solid long standing relationship since 2002.. they actually say they keep records for 10 years and dont see any past history of leases.. Dig this_ they got my car, and my fico dropped from 765 to 602 .. So what do I do? Pay bigger interest to lease another lesser car. That's it.. burn. I am writing to formally request release from my lease for a 2026 Mini Cooper Countryman and reimbursement of my down payment and all monthly payments made since the lease began on November 11. The vehicle qualifies as a lemon, as it has been continuously out of service at Mini Cooper of Edison since December 1 with no resolution. Despite this, I have experienced only delay, finger-pointing, and lack of accountability among BMW Financial Services, MINI of North America, and Mini Cooper of Edison. I have been a loyal Mini Cooper customer since 2018. I first leased, then purchased, a 2019 Countryman from Mini Cooper of Monmouth. I loved that car--it was reliable, distinctive, and well-suited for my family. It served me safely during an accident and was only replaced because it was totaled by insurance. My positive experience led me to Mini of Edison to lease the new 2026 Countryman. I signed the lease on November 11. While reviewing the vehicle features before leaving the dealership, the digital key failed to connect to my phone. Although I was assured this could be resolved by service, the issue persisted despite two and a half weeks of troubleshooting with sales, service, and my own efforts. On December 1, Mini of Edison took the vehicle into service, where it has remained ever since. I received daily updates indicating diagnostics, software updates, and escalation to MINI USA engineers. On December 8, I was informed regional support was involved. By mid-December, I was told the issue involved cloud communication with the vehicle and key, but no solution had been identified. On December 15, Kyle from Mini of Edison authorized ordering a replacement key fob. The new key arrived on December 18 and also failed. At that point, my confidence in the vehicle deteriorated. If the system cannot support something as basic as key access, I am concerned about broader reliability. Kyle acknowledged my concerns and mentioned my rights as a consumer. We discussed the possibility of replacing the vehicle, pending consultation with BMW Financial Services. After repeated attempts to follow up on December 19 and 20 without response, I decided I no longer wished to continue as a MINI customer and instead sought full release from the lease. I reviewed Lemon Law guidelines, noting the vehicle had been out of service for more than 20 consecutive days. From that point forward, communication became increasingly unprofessional. Michele from BMW Financial Services contacted me and offered two car payments as compensation, which I declined. When I reiterated my request to terminate the lease, responsibility was repeatedly deflected. Kyle stated BMW Financial instructed him to stand down, while Michele stated the decision rested with the dealership. Both claimed to be advocating for me. Kyle acknowledged Lemon Law protections; Michele stated she was unfamiliar with them. I explained the 20-day consecutive service criterion. Lacking clear guidance, I followed Lemon Law procedures and sent a certified letter to BMW Financial Services, which Michele confirmed receiving. I also emailed the letter to Kyle at Mini of Edison. On December 30, my frustration peaked. I have been unable to speak with anyone with decision-making authority. BMW Financial voicemail responses take up to 48 hours, Mini of Edison took over a week to respond, and MINI Customer Relations could only take notes, advising it may take up to five business days for a supervisor to respond. This level of dysfunction is unacceptable. I attempted to initiate a joint conversation via email between BMW Financial Services and Mini of Edison, yet there remains a breakdown in communication that has resulted in complete customer dissatisfaction. MINI USA, BMW Financial Services, and Mini of Edison all share responsibility here. The vehicle is faulty, has not been repaired, and has been out of service for more than 20 consecutive days. The appropriate resolution is clear: release me from the lease and refund my payments. Had this been handled appropriately weeks ago, I would have remained open to working with your brands in the future. Financing my car,moved to Florida and notified BMW financial services. They were supposed to send a package to me and send the title to DMV in order to register the car and get plates. We called countless times and told it would be sent, and we wouldn't have to do anything. We were then told the title had been sent to the DMV. We made an appt. and after waiting over an hour on line and at the window that the title had not been sent. Back to square 1 again. Contacted BMW Financial services again and sent them the forms again. Called after a week to follow up and was told the title would be sent via FedEx and I would receive a tracking number. NO tracking number was received. Now have to contact them again. Does anyone over there know what they are doing? Do they know their job? Do they even care? I have been a loyal BMW owner since 1986, and have had 1 or more BMWs in my garage since then. Based on this experience, it may be the last bummer I will own.‍ read more

DO NOT WORK WITH BMW FINANCIAL On June 9th 2023, I was rear ended which resulted in a total loss of my leased BMW vehicle. The car was around $61,000 where I put $14,000 down along with a years worth of payments. At the time of the accident, the pay off amount for the leased vehicle was $44,000. After the assessment was performed by my insurance company, it was determined the amount the car was worth was $56,000. BMW Financial has stated since this was a total loss, the lease is terminated and they will be keeping the entire amount rather than paying the lease pay off then providing me the different which is around $12,000. From my insurance company, to dealerships with me looking for a new car, to my lawyer, all stated they have never heard of this before and the logical outcome should be me being provided the balance after the lease payoff of $44,000 was taken out. My insurance agent as well as myself spoke with 2 representatives from BMW financial on multiple occasions who verbalized the lease agreement does not explicitly state in the event of a total loss, BMW will keep the entirety of the pay off from the insurance company. Another agent agreed that the lease agreement "does not have the verbiage in the contract that would state the customer would not receive the remaining balance". This is a binding contract where an agreement was signed, but since the contract does not state this then BMW Financial can just take the money anyways? When signing the agreement, I was not warned of this potential outcome, nor is it in the lease agreement. How is it that this is okay? A giant company like BMW taking advantage of the customer because they are the small guy in the situation without the resources a company like BMW has. After the they received the full amount, making the 12k, they sent me a bill for a late monthly payment which was after the accident. read more

84 month loan, never late. Made payment arrangement two years into the loan but then BMW reported the two payments as over 30 days late. The 84 payments have been made and I have title but BMW still reports the account as negative and will not correct the account. BMW fiancial services is a petty and dishonest company. read more

The worse financial institution in the automotive industry. My other half and I opted to end our 2017 6er lease early and paid close to $9K for early lease end. We paid the vehicle lease in full and turned the vehicle in on 4/21/2020. Since 4/21/2020, even though the BMW dealer has our $ and our vehicle, BMW FS ( Kendon Rodgers- Customer Services Advocate BMW Financial Services NA, LLC) continued to call and email us day & night. We responded to every single one of BMW FS's calls & emails, and explained we paid the early termination (paid the lease in full) and returned the vehicle to the dealership where we leased the vehicle, even provided proof of payment (i.e. copy of cashier's ck). Not good enough, BMW FS still haunt us. Someone shared with us that BMW FS mas-repo her vehicles and pushed her to commit suicide. What a horror! Guess we will NOT be patronizing BMW FS. read more

They require you to send a check (recommend cashiers check!) in the MAIL to payoff your loan! What kind of unsafe and antiquated policy is this?? Oh and when you send the cashiers check certified mail and it gets lost, they won't waive any accrued interest even though you made a good faith payment and upheld your end of deal. P.S. This was my 3rd BMW lease I never had any problems in the past. On 2/27/2022 I was hit by another vehicle which caused major damage and my insurance company totaling my vehicle. My lease by out was a little over $48k my insurance company paid BMW over $58k and they still refuse to remove the vehicle from my account. I've been calling everyday for the past week asking to speak with a supervisor and they all refuse to transfer me. I can't believe this is happening I was in an accident lost my truck and now bmw wants me to continue to pay a monthly payment for a vehicle I don't have and they've been paid for this is unbelievable. I will Never lease with them again! Not to mention all leases with BMW are "protected" by GAP insurance so why does this vehicle still on my account when I don't have it and clearly from the photo BMW has been paid?? Crooks! read more

They sent it to the wrong address 3 times and sent it by Fed Ex to the wrong address. However, yesterday I received a Power of Attorney but no Statement of Facts and it was sent to the address they said the former 3 copies were sent and then returned. I would never del with them again no matter how pleased I am with the car. This is something so simple which they have made one of the most frustrating. Avoid them!!! read more

Wow! Do NOT use BMW Financial Services! LOAN SHARKS! They will screw you over! During COVID, they convinced me to "take advantage" of their "program" to defer 2 payments until the end of my loan. I didn't really need to do it, but they made it sound like it would not cost me anything extra. They DIDN'T TELL ME that EXTRA INTEREST would accrue every day on those 2 deferred payments. I'm just finding out now, 4 years later, that I owe hundreds of dollars in extra interest on their SCAM deferment "program!" I even called them and spoke with a supervisor, and they refused to make the situation right, even though I've made every payment on time for 6 years, and this is my 3rd BMW that I've purchased. I like to file a complaint reference account 4xxxxx3730. I lease this vehicle on 4/27/2023. I decided to pay this vehicle off because I realize the mileage restrictions. I got a payoff from the automated system on 5/4/2023 for 89,869.04. The payoff was good through 5/24/2023. I got a cashiers check from my bank for that amount per their policy about certify funds. This cashier check and their payoff instructions were mailed on the 5/6/2023. (See attached postage receipt) With an expected arrival to their Chicago drop box 5/10/2023. I started calling multiple times starting on 5/12/2023. My lease payment was due 5/27/2023 and my account was not paid off yet so I initiated another payment online for $1512.51 so I wouldn't be delinquent. Today 5/31/2023. My Payoff miraculously shows up and applied to my account and said that I would be receiving a refund for $1149.61. I stated that was unacceptable because the pay off was sent in a timely manner and that I should be refunded my last payment 1512.51 the day before. The CSR was very condescending and argumentative and transfer me to a supervisor name LC (Escalation department) who proceeded to point the finger at me because the pay off was late. I asked her to show me the date the payment arrived because I could make the case that the employees in the payoff department failed to process my payment in a timely manner. I also explained to her that she can check the postmark on the envelope and the cashier check. (DTD 6 May 2023) She implied that only applies to the customer. BMW does not have to show proof of the day they empty the drop box. This is highly suspicious! I asked for my payoff back she said that would be 15 working days and I asked why since I paid in certified funds and she started talking about different internal checks for money laundering or fraud. She also inquired where the funds came from? I told her the cashier check has my name and BMW on it. Her actions are close to discrimination. She also became increasing hostel when I would not give her my contact information again after verifying it three times during our interaction. She then said that she needed to speak to make other inquires about my concerns and that I should call tomorrow and ask for her...I asked why do I need to call when you are making the inquiries and you should call me once complete. I also inquired about who was the next person above her and she stated shift leader which I asked for their contact information and she stated they would call in 48 hrs and that she would now not be calling me back. I paid off the vehicle on august 26, 2022. The state of Maryland requires the lien release to be submitted with in 5 days receiving full payment. BMW Financial Services refuses to provide the lien release --- Marylands law on lien releases. SUMMARY OF LIEN RELEASE REQUIREMENTS The Maryland Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Administration (MDOT MVA) is informing lien holders that, as of January 1, 2021, all lien holders and dealers who offer the service of financing motor vehicle liens, and engage in the business or practice of financing motor vehicles, are required to: ​Electronically submit their lien releases to the MDOT MVA, through their selected Electronic Lien Service (ELS) vendor, within 5 business days of receiving full payment for a motor vehicle lien, and If a lien holder/dealer meets the above qualifications and is not already a participant of ELS, they need to contract with one of the specified vendors listed below for ELS in Maryland before January 1, 2021. read more

It took me over a half an hour on the phone to figure out their error myself. It took 3 representatives who spoke over me, didn't listen and just kept repeating themselves. This has to be one of the only leasing companies that won't allow you to sell or trade your leased vehicles to a non BMW/MINI brand vehicle. We have had three leases on new MINI's buying out the residual on two. On our third lease a dealer has offered us $10,000 more than our residual to outright purchase our car. But BMW Financial won't allow it. We either have to purchase the car or turn it in so they can reap the difference. When I posted a comment on their Facebook page, instead of giving an answer they chose to delete my post so others don't see what a scam they are. I've got a 2023 MINI on order, now I'm not sure if I want to take it, or move onto a manufacture that has favorable leases for people that trade vehicles every two years. Furious at deceptive and discriminatory practices I purchased a 2019 MINI on March 29, 2021 at MINI South Motors on March 29, 2021. I have good credit and was given BMW's most competitive rate for a used car. Ms. Fanny Alfaro, the Finance Department rep from MINI South Motors told me there was an issue with my credit approval because I had a 2007 bankruptcy that involved repossession of a a BMW car. Nonetheless, because my credit score is so high, and the bankruptcy so long ago, my financing was approved and I was told I could register my account on the MINI website in about a week. Today when I tried to register my account on MINI's website - which is called the "Owners Club" to give it an air of exclusivity - I was denied access. When I called to inquire, a rep from MINI Financial Services in Dublin, OH told me it was because of my previous bankruptcy. So due to the 14 year-old bankruptcy, the entity that approved my financing is saying that I may only receive paper statements and make payments by check through the mail. This is discriminatory, offensive, nonsensical and stupid. I called the reps in Dublin, OH again - one actually said that not being able to set up an account online was a matter of bankruptcy law! I'm a lawyer so I knew that was nonsense. I finally got a rep who walked over to the bankruptcy "department" in Dublin, OH and returned to say that customers with prior bankruptcies are not allowed access to the Owners Club, and cannot make online payments due to a "glitch". So this supposedly world-class company is improperly discriminating against customers (whose credit they already approved) who long ago had bankruptcies and then they claim it is all due to a "glitch" that they don't know how to fix. I was promised that I could make payments online and would never have gotten financing from a financing source that didn't allow online payments. read more

I have just contacted BMW Financial Services because I am refinancing a property. My banker advised me that BMW Financial has made an entry in my credit reporting to the effect that my transactions with BMW Financial have been affected by a natural disaster... and the payment data has been wiped. I have not had any kind of interaction with them, my car is just fine and I make my payments with direct bill pay through my bank. I was advised by Maresa(sp) that I could contact the credit reporting company directly! She advised me that their credit department is not a customer interacting unit.. nice way to put it. read more

trying to sell a car I had purchased last year from BMW dealer. Paid cash, went to sell yesterday (excellent full cash price), and even though I had a clear title BMW financial had incorrectly placed a lien on the title. When I called, they acknowledged it was their mistake, but had no concerns what ever about fixing it in a timely manner. They would not let me talk to a manager and the man I talk to, Dan, Indicated the ONLY thing they would would do was send a letter saying they have no lien by snail mail, would try to get it out in a day or two. If I could give this company negative stars, I would. I had never missed a payment and had a credit score of 786 but after accidentally missing a payment, my score has dropped to 600. No reminders, no calls, no emails, no mail, no notifications of any kind in regards to being behind. My grandmother had died, my company was going through a merger, and it was the holiday season. As soon as I discovered the error, I paid the amount due, genuinely shocked and embarrassed by my lapse in memory. I had always had every intention of keeping my financial obligations to them. I made ONE mistake in forgetting and they sliced my credit without warning. Their methods are brutal, rigid, cold, insensitive, unyielding. I realize that the excellent customer service associated with the BMW brand has zero correlation with BMW Financial. And although I will continue to be a loyal BMW customer, I WILL NEVER GO THROUGH BMW FINANCIAL AGAIN. read more

Today I wanted to apply for a premium credit card only to discover that my transunion credit score at Chase bank dropped 107 points over a mistake on the part of BMW Financial services . I am absolutely LIVID. I now have to file a dispute which will certainly take weeks if not months to resolve and then who knows the outcome. I am LIVID !!!! All of this has impacted my plans to lease a new car in the near future as well as obtain the rewards credit card I have waited so long for. I will never do any business with this company. After having my car from 10/2017 and always making payments on time, one month they tried to collect the payment from a closed account and did not notify me that that payment was unsuccessful and reported me late. I have never been late with any payment and has an excellent credit score. They insist on this reporting and I already started a process of a law suit. Imagine having an excellent score, maintaining it for so many years and doing a deal with the wrong company that affects your future and your opportunities. Now after 100 point of a drop because of their reporting, I can't even re finance my house. STAY AWAY- take a different car. read more

Bought a certified Pre-Owned BMW through a dealer in Madison Wisc, I live in Illinois. It has been a nightmare trying to get a copy of the title sent to DMV so I can get license plates. I have called 4 times a gotten 4 different answers. Promised e-mails have never arrived. Packets of information have never been mailed. Packets that were going to be "expedited" were mailed U.S. Postal service. Now they are refusing to Fed-Ex overnight the information I need. The on phone reps can not even send you things by e-mail, has to go someone else. They were quick to get a bill to me. But can not get me title information. Every time I call I get a different story. Absolutely inflexible. Will not vary their procedure to fix their errors. Do not finance with them. read more

Instead of contacting a long time customer who has never missed a payment and clearly pays automatically, BMW financial immediately reported me to two credit bureaus .. basically ruined my credit forever. Poor communication during the lease buyout process. This contributed to me incurring $300 of additional fees at DMV. On the phone during the lease buyout, the BMW FS representative said that "it takes the California DMV several weeks to issue the title". This, and the rest of the conversation, sounded like that BMW FS will do the title transfer process by themselves, and that I will receive the title in the mail from California DMW. [Btw, the fact that I will need to pay additional sales tax was also never mentioned.] The way the representative described the process, it sounded like the BMW FS paperwork IS the entire process. This is not the case, as I learned later. The BMW FS representative on the phone never mentioned that after they send me their paperwork, I will need to go to DMW and transfer the title. They never mentioned that I only have 30 days to do so, counted **from the day of the lease buyout**, and not from the day of receiving their paperwork. They did inform me that because I will pay with a personal check, they will send me the paperwork with a 2-week delay, but never told me that this will count towards the 30 days. When I went to the DMV, they told me that I am late. It was 27 days after receiving the paperwork from BMW FS -- but, because BMW FS took 2 weeks to send me the paperwork, in total, it was over 30 days. DMV charged me a $300 late penalty. read more

Even a broken clock is right twice a day. Only way I can explain the few "positive" ratings here. I did not have an issue with the leasing end but returning my lease has been a nightmare. BMW Stealership (can't bring myself to call them a dealership) will not accept my lease return if I didn't buy the car from them. This is there way of holding local residents hostage to pay premium prices or else you will have to return the car from where it was purchased. I got a wonderful deal from a Dealership but they are now 60 miles away from me. So in order to return my BMW they are telling me to drive 120 miles round trip...yeah right. I've been the owner of over 8 BMW's in my life but never again. What is the point? They are over priced for what they offer, technology is dated and slow, and if you end up with a lease, good luck finding a dealership willing to entertain your return if you didn't lease through them. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. BMW Financial is the worst in the industry, and I've dealt with many financing companies. I assumed a lease last year and prepaid most of it. My bank recorded 21 payments. BMW recorded 22, so eventually corrected the error and reversed one payment. I thought we were good. Fast forward a couple weeks and all of a sudden I get this email that another payment was reversed, payment applied incorrectly etc. so I called them and they provided a breakdown but no details of why or where the money went. I checked with my bank, got check numbers and verifications that yup, 21 payments were sent. But BMW still shows 20 net being received. I mean, when you pay your amounts due through your bank and the account number is WRITTEN ON THE CHECK and the receiving company still screws it up, that's very bad. Stay away from BMW Financial, FAR, FAR away. Now it's for the lawyers to figure out. So stupid. read more

Hold times of 30 to 45 minutes AT LEAST.... they are understaffed and one department just transfers you to another like a hot potato! Just terrible experiences every time I need to call and deal with them! read more
