The whole experience was annoying to wait almost 30 minutes for someone to respond to the purse section knowing it's pretty much locked down. Why not have a person in the area with the keys to serve the customer?? Oh that's too much like great service!!! The cashier was helpful but I couldn't over hear a manager threaten to investigate who's pulling clothes and not putting them back! It was weird how she talked to the staff. Unfortunately, the person we were working with there just was really uninterested in helping us. He had said to just go online to look at the options and packages. It was like pulling teeth even just to get him to show us the shoe options next to the suit color tones. We felt like we were being rushed out and like a nuisance, maybe because you formalize the order online? But it's so hard to gauge colors on the internet and important to see swatches. We were really disappointed in the experience. The next week, my husband went to the Reston location to try for a better experience, which is just what he got. He said that location was SO helpful and much more attentive. Wouldn't recommend Fair Lakes for wedding suit rentals, but would recommend the Reston location!

The opportunity presented itself a couple weeks ago, and they did not disappoint. I needed a tux for a wedding downtown, so I figured I would give WT a spin. Todd was very responsive via email and phone once I filled out the form, and he did some juggling to keep my appointment when I needed it. Upon arrival, he took great measurements and helped me select a fantastic tux. The tux arrived promptly and was easy to pick up and return. It was also of a fantastic quality that I received many compliments on. While returning my tux, Todd complimented the coat that I was wearing. The coat happened to be new and was in need of sleeve alterations. Todd said that he could easily take care of that. He did so to my great satisfaction in a reasonable turnaround at a price that was fantastic. TL;DR-- go see WT if you want great service and a great selection of tuxedos or other custom attire. I came…read moreto the store because a good friend (who lived in Fairfax) past away and I acquired his last suit that he purchased at William T. Clothiers, and I wanted to get it altered for me in his memory. While I was there I decided to get 4 customs shirts made, as my last tailor retired recently. The shirt measurement process was strange from the get go, the owner/tailor Todd put 2 sample shirts in the dressing room. He stated 1 was for tighter fit, and 1 was for a looser fit. But didn't tell which one was which, so I put on the closest one to me. Todd then started asking me about how I wanted the length/width and such and started to measure me. Then we started to go over shirt patterns and fabrics, and I started to pick out patterns/fabrics/cuffs/collars pretty standard stuff. BTW, once this process started I never did try on the other sample shirts and he never mentioned for me to do so. After all the measuring was finished the pricing came, and OMG it was crazy expensive! The 4 shirts came to an average of $323.75 each, wow. All of my suits, jackets, dress pants, and dress shirts in the last 20 years have been custom tailored as I am an oddly shaped person. I know custom clothing is expensive, but the most I've ever paid for a shirt was about $200, but I bit the bullet and went ahead and ordered the shirts as I need a closet refresh. After a few days I got a message that 2 of the shirt designs were not available, so I had to basically let Todd pick the new colors/designs. About 4ish weeks later my shirts were ready for pickup, I was excited to see how the expensive shirts looked. When I tried on the 4 shirts, they were so tight that I was really taken aback. It was like his tape measure or eyesight was not working properly, they were so ill fitting. So all 4 shirts had to be completely reorder, and low and behold another color/design was not available again. That makes 3 of the 4 colors/designs picked out ended up unavailable. Well I picked up the 4 shirts yesterday, 5 months after my original order/measurement. Another bothersome thing with this tailor/Todd is that I ended up in that shop approximately 8 times, and Todd was only there 2 times. He as some nice whiskey displayed in the shop, never did he offer any to me. He knew how upset I was, and didn't even have the decency to be present when I finally pick up my shirts yesterday. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this tailor, there are so many tailors to choose from in the DC area to deal with this tailors crazy high prices, and awful customer service. The shirts are good quality, but this quality can be had for half the price.

The first pair I ever bought were in Prague, CZ because I didn't pack enough socks for my 10 day European extravaganza. We must take care of our feet cause we only get one pair. Good shoes and good socks are worth the little extra you might pay for quality. You can get a 10 pack of these socks for $14.99 and they will last you.

The problem with Vans shoes, is that they don't last long. Their prices have gone up significantly. If quality showed, I'd be sort of okay with that. Many places are or have followed suit. Still from what I have seen this lines are long and merchandise is going fast. Yes, you can buy the mannequin and do what Eminem did in his song 3AM. Catch lyrics too. I do see some clothing that might look good on other people, it's not my style.
