I received a gift card to J. Crew for Christmas. I haven't shopped here in over two decades. I went online and couldn't believe how bougie the brand has gotten. I saw $400 Christmas sweaters, really? Anyway, I got a pair of black pants. They arrived on time but the size wasn't right so I went to the store to exchange the size. The gal who assisted me was friendly and very helpful. My exchange was easy and I just happen to come in when my pants were on sale so I got money back (extra that I had to pay out of pocket online.) I appreciated the good customer service but I wouldn't shop here. (I hate the mall, haha!) Plus, the pants were made in China too, so I think it's crappy that they charge such outrageous prices. C'mon, J. Crew! You're not fancy. You're just more expensive than Gap and Gap's not even that great. :P read more

Always messy feeling when I visit. And service is so so probably has to do with manager who usually passes you without greeting or act as if you are invisible. I have visited this store two times in the last month. In the past I was always greeted and provided assistance when needed. The last two visits I was completely ignored. A salesperson was directly in front of me as I was searching for items. Not a smile, thank you, or even a greeting at the cash register. I normally do not buy anything from J crew at full price. Their clothes are expensive if not on sale. As such, I wait when they have additional 30-40% marked down on the sale items. In my experience, online store has more in different sizes and it also carried a wide swimwear selections. If the items do not mark as final sale, you can return them in stores which is very convenient. I also found that their customer service is very helpful. They helped me track down a pair of pants from other locations because online did not have my size. I even got free shipping directly to my house. read more

I rarely write reviews but had to take a moment to acknowledge Tiffany Do at the South Coast Plaza location. I wanted to try on the bridesmaid dresses before making an order online so I called and ended up speaking with Tiffany. While she explained wedding attire is not carried in the store, she invited me to come and get measured. When I got there, the place was extremely busy, yet she still took the time to help me and found a sample dress (which fortuitously WAS one of the bridesmaid dresses on my list and EXACTLY MY SIZE). She joked that I made her job easy for her. She then gave me her card and encouraged me to give her a call if I have any future questions, while balancing the hectic demands of other customers. read more

At the very least, I am greeted by a lot of the staff. On another note, I know that this is a "high profile" location, so there must be a model-look criteria when they hire because hot damn the guys in the men section were just terribly distracting. I received the BEST customer service I have ever experienced a few days ago here. We received a shipment from the website with some ties from last season and some from this season. They had the same item number but looked different. We wanted them all to be the same as they were for our groomsmen. The JCrew female associate with the short blonde hair is AWESOME. I wish I got her name so we could give her the recognition she deserves. She went straight away and called several different locations for us having them check each tie for the measurements. Usually stores send you on your way but she really independently decided to do everything possible to get us what we wanted. Honestly, it was awesome and the team there is great. read more

This has to be my favorite out of all the J.Crews I have visited, which is perfect because it's closest to my home. I am always approached by a friendly sales associate within minutes of beginning to browse, which is great because I am usually looking for something. The store is always well kept, items are folded and in their proper places and like most J.Crews, the decorations are tastefully classic. My only complaint is that I hardly have good luck it this stores sale section. read more

I wanted to take the time out to say what an awesome manager Jean is for taking the time to resolve my issue with the San Francisco store. Short version: San Francisco charged me for a pair of shoes I wanted but never shipped them. Charge was on my statement. I called Jean and she got right on it and was able to figure out the glitch and credited my acct properly. Bad news about the story was that I never got the shoes but at least I rightfully received my money back. Thanks so much Jean. Employees will pretty much never greet you or ask if you need help finding anything. It's really, really bizarre. Like all of the employees are really aloof and standoffish....almost like they work in a library or something, just silent. They move silently through the store as if they're already just sooo busy providing outstanding customer service to other customers, but if you actually GET help from one of them, the service they're giving isn't particularly outstanding or even good. I literally get better customer service at my local post office. If I happen to stop by on a weekend, there is almost always, always, always a manager or a few employees standing near the entrance in a circle, ignoring customers and discussing like important store things? all the while ignoring almost everything and everyone around them. This is literally the store with the worst customer service ever! I waited in line for over 20 minutes with only one cashier open. The girl that was working the register did not open another, even when there is an extremely long line. After I asked to open a new register, they said no. Then, after I left, they opened one. Wow, what a rude way to treat your customers. Also, received no apologies about the wait. She gave me a cold response. Also, if you are an employee and you do not know how to work the machine, ask someone for help. Don't stand around poking at the computer. Never going back ever again! read more

After a horrible experience at Banana Republic, I ventured over to Jcrew to check out their newest collection. I was surprised to see the EXTRA 50 off sale going on and quickly had a good pile of clothes going. Heidi approached me and offered to start me a room. She was extremely helpful & knowledgeable & wasn't annoyed by me trying on 15 items and needing several different sizes. She was quick to retrieve my requests even though the store was busy & I'm sure she was helping other people. I have had a hard time at higher end stores getting employees to help me because I look young & usually shop on my days off in more "comfortable" attire. Very positive experience here as clearly the staff is professionally trained to serve anyone & everyone that walks into the store. I didn't find any sale items but walked out with some great items from their new collection & will definitly be returning to the store vs online from now on. Thanks Heidi! read more

It was advertised around the store "Corduroy on sale for 30%" which I thought was a sweet deal. So I pick up some cords and go to the register. The hipster dude at the register looks at the pants and tried to justify giving me the discount because the cords I picked werent a standard cord but a "thinner cord thats not really a corduroy" pattern. So he acts like he's trying to hook me up by giving me the 30% discount. Wth even though they were in the very same section as the corduroys duhhhh! In addition, online on jcrew.com you receive an additional 25% off for fall items. He then tries to tell me that the item is not a fall item. EVERY ITEM IN THE FRIGGIN STORE IS A FALL ITEM! so he doesnt give me the extra 25% off even though the website does. I know its just a few more bucks but man why cant they just be honest and transparent. Obviously if the website is doing it, the store should do it to! Obviously the reps are not up to speed with the marketing campaigns of the website. Inconsistency between store and website shows poor company standards and training. I like the clothes, but I'm not crazy about the high prices sometimes. So of all things, I needed a suit. A freakin' suit. So I was ready to spend the cash to get a suit that fits. Now it's a huge deal for me to find a suit. I'm short (or to be p.c., vertically challenged) and not a skinny mini, so I had to find a suit that fit me well. Well, I stroll into the store and find their women's suit separates. Alright, I'll take a look. I found a jacket and a pair of pants. Amazingly, they fit and I learn for the first time, that I am a different size on the top and bottom. Whoduthunk!! Anyhoo, the store does not care any peitite sizes. Alright, I'm not gonna wait for them to ship me a suit I need to wear in 4 days. So I went for it and bought the jacket and pants in the store. On top of that I had to get the pants hemmed and the sleeves shortened. An extra $43 for that. Fine, whatever, keep sucking me dry!! I better look damn fine in my suit after taking all my cash! read more

J. Crew is alright. The clothes doesn't really thrill me, occasionally there's something really cute, but not often. I tend to like their jewelry though. This location carries men and children's clothing as well. The staff here is very friendly though so that's a plus. Doesn't help that this store is boring though :( read more

I have been Jcrew's customer at South Coast plaza since 2008, The quality of the merchandise and customer service is awesome and it is getting every year better than previous year. The store has been renovated in January,and it is very beautiful with new face, the merchandise that they are carrying has been changed to the best. I used to shop at Nordstrom, Bloomingdales and Neiman Marcus but since I started to shop at Jcrew in Costa Mesa, I stopped shopping in any other stores. The Store Managers: Mark, Tiffany, Tom, Frank, Liah and Sarah they are very helpful and friendly, the professional and expert personal Stylists are doing awesome jobs. I work with Leslie and Alex both are very knowledgable, friendly and they can assist you choosing best outfit suitable for the occasion that you are planning. The staff behind the register are very helpful directing you to the stylist or trying to complete your sales as fast as they can. Aya, Cathy, Tiffany all of them are very helpful. I highly recommend this store and suggest to try, I guarantee you will have the same experience, make sure you ask for Personal Stylist Leslie or Alex, they are very knowledgable in the merchandise that they carry in Jcrew plus they have awesome taste that any one will be leaving the store happy with big smile on their face. J. Crew was over 1 week late so I finally called, they said it "was weight listed" and said the order would arrive July 13th. Over 1 month from now without an apology or anything.
