Drove past this place the other day & decided we'd try it out on my husband's birthday. 100% glad we did. Has an old time diner feel & loved that we were able to choose our own table. Menu was bigger than expected with options for everyone. We both ended up getting the Route 66 skillet and loved it. I also got a side of French toast that was good. Our daughter had the kids meal that I believe was a good portion for her. Our waitress was Ashley and she was super sweet and attentive. To be honest, the food is why I won't go back. The last several times, the food was cold and tasteless. No seasoning whatsoever on the hash browns, rolls were hard and cold. Could barely get the butter to spread. Scrambled eggs were lukewarm as well Service was fine, just not a fan of the food anymore. read more

The server was less than welcoming. The table had been "cleaned" because it was wet but the customers trash that was there before us was still on the table. The coffee was in a nice,cozy mug but cold. The potatoes were tasteless but chewy. The breakfast tacos allowed only one bite and that was enough. Googled a good breakfast place in Macon hoping for a hidden gem. The menu looked enticing. Ordered Eggs (over medium) grits and English muffin. Pancakes for my granddaughter. The order of grits was so very disappointing. No more than 2 tablespoons of grits in a bowl about the size of a child's fist. The English muffin was cold and chewy instead of a warm and a little bit crunchy. The pancakes were disappointing as well. The pancakes were crumbly. The service and the atmosphere were GREAT but the food was just barely average and definitely overpriced. For the money, could have eaten twice at Waffle-house or one and half times at Famous Mikes. Famous Mikes gives you an adult serving of grits. I doubt I will return. read more

The service was great!!! Our server was sweet and very attentive. I gave it a 3 star rating because the food was disappointing. It was just OK to me. I got the J Christopher eggs Benedict, and the eggs weren't that runny; taste was subpar, I added more salt and pepper...it was nothing to rave about it. I've had better at other establishments. The grits definitely needed more seasoning too and my hubby can make better grits at home.. The one thing I can rave about is the delicious cup of Spanish latte I received. I drank it all up once the temp dropped to something I could handle! It was scorching hot! Definitely would get it again. Nice brunch place, sans the mimosas. I keep hearing there is no where to eat breakfasts on Sundays around the area, but this is a great spot. It was lightly filled, four tables including ourselves on a Tuesday right at 11. Friendly service, food delivered fairly quick and fresh. We came from the gym down the road and only wanted a quick bite. We ordered two cups of coffee which comes out as bottomless carafe, but a charge for two, so drink up! We split the Huevos Avocado, so I can't speak for much else on the menu, but this hit the spot. Avocado and pico was fresh, poached egg runny yummy! Very large booths, great for families. I went to visit a friend in this area and was looking for a cute little brunch spot for us to eat at. This is literally the only brunch spot besides the regular known chains. (Cracker Barrel, Ihop etc) I checked Yelp before going, and I wasn't impressed by the pics of the food but for the most part they had pretty good reviews besides the ones that I SHOULD have listened to (The bad ones) When we got there the parking lot was empty... 1st red flag. When we walked in we were greeted and told to sit wherever we wanted. We sat down and immediately realized that it was colder inside then outside, and it was pretty cold that day. So we decided to keep our coats on cause it was freezing. I hate being uncomfortable while eating. Anywho the waitress came over to take our order I asked her a couple of times like what she recommended, if she had any favorites? and she was like super bland about it like "yea you might like the pancakes... or the scrambles skillets are pretty good" I guess that was my 2nd hint I missed. I guess she was secretly trying to tell me to get the heck out of dodge. Once our food came we were highlyyyyy disappointed. Well when she brought my food over it didn't look bad, it actually looked pretty satisfying. Well let me just say this "Everything that glitter ain't gold" Our food was not hot at all... it wasn't even warm for that matter, everything had an after taste. My waffle was as hard as a brick, everything was bland and it just wasn't made with love and it showed. My friend ordered some type of scramble skillet with like spinach and the whole dish was as dry as the Sahara Desert. The spinach wasn't cooked well, and the funny part about her dish it was served in like a cast iron skillet with a hand mit to hold it with but guess what it wasn't hottttt. They will bring you the same food you sent back. As a customer I have the option to not want real silverware in my food and opt for plastic so if I don't want real silverware in my food I shouldn't recieve backlash or paper in my grits for that. The only good part about my visit today was the host who was so hospitable and bubbly. I wish we could've had her as our server as she was the only person to check on us since our server ignored us the entire visit. Woke up this morning wanting a good breakfast and a taste of something I've never had. I came across breakfast place in Macon that had wonderful reviews and tried them out. I ordered the blueberry crunch pancake, eggs and cheese, bacon, and homemade potatoes just to be simple. It was actually better than expected. The bacon was crispy but not too hard and the blueberry pancake with the granola came out to be a super nice mixer. They had a lot of good looking things on the menu including a dietary and healthy side. I plan to try something different next time. I have been here several times now, but I'm rating them three stars because they are inconsistent. Sometimes we go and the food is great. The omelettes are well seasoned, the pancakes are fluffy and full of granola, and the skillet is cooked well and comes out hot. Other times we come and the pancakes are flat and rubbery, EVERYTHING needs salt, and the food come out cold or lukewarm. The service is always pretty good, I've never had an order come out wrong. I wish they were more consistent because then this would be a 5 star breakfast spot! COVID may have something to do with this though, maybe they are training new cooks quite often with the shortage of people willing to work. Idk, but I will probably come back at some point, since there aren't many breakfast places outside of WH, HH, Cracked Barrel, and IHOP. read more

My husband and I just finished eating breakfast at this location. The two servers were both so sweet and gracious with big, genuine smiles. The food was very good. My husband had bacon, cheese grits, scrambled eggs and a blueberry crunch waffle that has granola for the crunch. I have to eat gluten free and it was so great to be able to eat a waffle too as they have GF waffles and toast. I also had bacon. It was all very delicious! Grabbed a quick breakfast from here and it was pretty good. I got the goddess omelet and toast and grits. The grits are so good at first I thought they have me regular grits but I'm guessing they use cream cheese or a white cheese because they definitely had cheese in them. The omelet was good it came with tomatoes and pretty sure it's supposed to be egg white and has spinach but I wish it came with avocado. J. Christopher's is our favorite place to get breakfast at. Their to-go deliveries (via UberEats) have been super hot, which adds to the experience. For the price of their meals, they give a decent serving and have been incredibly tasty. So far, I've had the pantry feast, sausage and gravy, and strawberry crepes. Their french toast is decadent and moist, and they give a hefty serving for the sausage and gravy! I asked for eggs over easy on my sausage and gravy dish...and they gave me exactly that! (I absolutely hate it when restaurants overcook it!) My only complaint (minor) is that I wish there was more gravy on my plate! The best part, though, is the sausage links! read more

Have not been to J Christopher's in probably 5 years, because each time we would try the restaurant we were disappointed. Our server was very nice, just did not understand the duties of a server. The syrup dispenser handle was all sticky, the coffee cup still had lip stick on the cup. I had to clean my fork and spoon myself, may not have been dirty but they were both spotted up. My wife ordered the Eggs Benedict, supposed to be one of their specialty's. The plate looked very nice when it was brought to the table. I then heard the hostess talking rudely of my family to someone in the kitchen. My wife and I were going excited to eat somewhere new and we had high hopes for the food. The staff congregates in the kitchen for 15 minutes at a time. After you get your food you won't see them until you are ready to leave. Some friends of ours were going here for brunch and invited is to come along. The place was busy but there wasn't a wait when we got there so we got seated right away. We had a very pleasant waitress who took good care of us. I got the eggs "Benny" (eggs Benedict) which is my favorite breakfast meal of all time. It lived up the the expectations and was very enjoyable. My wife and friend got the Route 66 which is a corn beef hash skillet. My other friend got an omelette.
