Good old fashioned southern food! Everybody enjoyed their plate. It's a cool little spot. I love all the Allman Brothers memorabilia and the mural outside. The service was excellent. Everybody was super friendly. I just wish they hadn't been out of the brisket! Guess I'll have to come back sometime.

Truly ashamed to say we've lived in Macon 3 years and this was our first time eating at H & H. My pregnancy cravings put me on the hunt for biscuits and gravy and I am soooo glad that hunt lead me here. WOW. This is GOOD food & great people! A nice corner restaurant with a at home feel, truly a gem. Thankfully the day we went wasn't busy so we took our time going over the menu and asking for recommendations. Having an uncle Red Dog myself, my husband knew immediately what meal he will be ordering. I on the other hand was torn after I saw they had salmon patties. Obviously I had to try both the patties and my biscuits and gravy. They were amazing!!!! No regrets. Our daughter had a kids meal, nice portions. We will returning here. Such a great experience & an amazing nap once I was home LOL

This was some of the best food I've had! Our server, Kiki, was absolutely amazing! We actually tried to go back the next day, but couldn't wait in line. (It was close to an hour wait the first day. Absolutely worth it!) I got the brisket hash breakfast and my husband got the Chank. If you get a chance, I strongly encourage you to go!

Great soul food joint in downtown Macon. It was packed Saturday morning, mostly family groups. Easy parking with a lot right out back. The smoked Turkey was very tender and flavorful. Whiting fish solid and fresh. Collards got a kick to it, I devoured 2 portions all by myself.

Everything was outstanding from the moment we walked in and were greeted by Terrence, the food was delicious. Everything was good. The price is just right. I love this place such a southern gem , being a city sleeker I really appreciate this place I will definitely be coming back

So this is a down home diner. We arrived @10am on a Sunday and there were no open tables. The place was packed with a broad mix of folks. Turnover was fast though. Waitress arrived quickly as did the coffee. We were lucky on timing bc when we left there were people qued up outside. Good strong coffee. Offer coffee to go if you want it. Great service and friendly. They have parking lot next to them on corner for about 12 cars. We had the brisket hash and Bisquits and gravy with an egg added. Both were delicious. Light, fluffy Bisquits. Good gravy and plenty of it. Eggs properly cooked. The brisket hash - a fee pieces over cooked, but generally well prepared. Good cook on potatoes, onions and peppers. Huge portions. I took half of my hash home. Really hit the spot.

Amazing food. The waffles are delicious but the biscuits will bring me back! Love the customer service. The wait was worth it!

When in Macon, you must visit this place if you're wanting a great meal. I walked in, just me and was greeted kindly. The lady seated next to me suggested the pork chop. So I got that and some catfish and sides. Plus some fried green tomatoes. Those were so good. Everything was delicious and came out fast.

OMG don't walk...RUN to H&H and eat abundantly! There's a reason they've been in business since 1959! Their staff and food was absolutely amazing! our waiter was a sweetheart, didn't catch his name . His mom works there also! Hubs had the KIRK'S MYSTIC GRAVY BISCUITS $11.00 and bread pudding $4. I had the MIDNIGHT RIDER $8.50 and took home an order of SQUASH CASSEROLE. Everything was perfect!!! That bacon jam was to die for! Their iced tea was great too! A must go!!!!!

Definitely a must. This soul food restaurant in the city of Macon, GA did not disappoint. At H&H restaurant est. in 1959 still serving southern hospitality. Be sure to say hi to Kiki.

The Red Dog. Biscuits, greens, fried chicken, side of fried green tomatoes with their house sauce. Ridiculously good and filling.

Real food. Authentic family-friendly service. Relaxed dining area. Such an amazing place to enjoy a hearty breakfast. A real gem in Macon.

Fried catfish, collard greens, squash casserole, and cornbread.

Found a hair in the fried green tomatoes and a live roach on the table behind us, just ordinary cooking and food if you are from the south.

You need reservations to dine here. There was complimentary bread and peach jam. They have a rotating selection of daily specials, cheeses, and change their menu frequently. I also appreciate the "small plates" section for when you're not that hungry. The cheese board appetizer was a surprising favorite. It had items sourced from local farms. So after a tasty cocktail and a very nice charcuterie board I went with the Crab and Panko Crusted Cod. Oh my goodness what a delicious entrée. A tasty crusted outside and so tender inside. And that lemon and miso creamed kale topped it all off. Definitely a place to try when in Macon. The only draw back is that it's up stairs on the 2nd floor with no elevator.

Got the salad & it was a pretty underdone piece of salmon after asking for it well done. Asked the waiter why it wasn't blackened (out of curiosity) still ate it & called it good & told me we had to ask for it blackened. It was a very basic boring salad with a frozen piece of salmon for $20. My husband ordered a burger & fries. The burger was really good & he got goat cheese & bacon on it. The fries on the other hand were not it. Bummer because they are supposedly hand cut. They were drenched in oil. Like to the point that you couldn't even eat a few without feeling awful. They were soggy & heavy. Think homemade fries but in a super old fryer with lots of crisco. Overall very underwhelming for a place with such high reviews. Won't be back! Gotta step up it up if you guys plan to stay in business for another 50 years!
