Never in your life have you had an Everything Bagel that is SOOOOOO GOOD!! I usually get a sandwich...The Captain Planet (but with regular sausage and dairy cheese) or The Champ. The sandwiches are hearty and really filling. I do prefer the savory sandwiches myself. You can expect to pay about ~$10 per sandwich. The large pig in a blanket (the size of a hot dog) is a wonderful option as well. The coffee is superb too! Service is always friendly and short wait times. Fun aesthetic with a small breakfast nook corner complete with couches. Highly recommend. You'll be hooked on the Everything Bagel for sure! Closed Monday and Tuesday. Opened from 7am - 1pm on Wed/Thurs/Friday 9am - 1pm on Sat/Sun.

Wow! As someone who tends to be a harsh critic when it comes to bagels, Macon Bagels knows how to do it right! Stopped at the shop as I was passing through the city and very glad that I did. Not only was the shop very cute, retro, and decorated with iconic stuffed animals/toys, but the food was actually great as well! Service was friendly and quick - order at the counter and they'll call your name. Highly recommend the warmed cream cheese danish with scallions. Will need an excuse to come back to Macon just for this item!

This one jumped out to me as being a surprise. It's hard to find really high quality bagels anywhere, let alone central Georgia. But here, the line was consistent in an otherwise muted downtown area, and I left with little doubt as to why. Ordering a fresh bagel yielded a deliciously browned creation with a hint of sourness. The poppy seeds were thickly applied to the top and bottom, and the freshly toasted and sliced bagel made for a delicious breakfast, with a seltzer water as an on point accompaniment. They had a small selection of other baked goods, and I could have given them five stars for the cookie sandwich alone, centered around a majestic chocolate ganache and with a little strawberry note at the end. I got a half dozen bagels to go as well, knowing I wouldn't likely come back too often as it's not in my neighborhood. I'll be sad when they're gone.

Macon Bagels was the perfect breakfast stop on our trip. The bagels were fresh, chewy in the best way, and had that classic New York-style quality that's hard to find. The menu had a great mix of traditional choices and creative options, so it was tough to pick just one. The service was quick and friendly, and you could tell this place is a local favorite--people were coming in nonstop while we were there, and for good reason. Everything we tried was delicious, and it's the kind of place you wish you lived closer to so you could go all the time. If you're passing through Macon, this is a must-stop for breakfast or a quick bite. We'll definitely be back next time we're in town!

So many great options!! Love that there were vegan options as well. They also had an assortment of juices that I loved! Will definitely be coming back when I'm in town.

A cute bagel shop in downtown Macon! You walk in to a counter displaying the bagels available. There's over 10 to choose from! The staff was very friendly and helpful. I went with the cheddar bagel. It was dense and delicious. I requested for it to be toasted. I'd say it was slightly toasted & recommend if you want a little crunch then make a request. The cheddar bagel was good - I'd get it again! I also ordered a cinnamon roll. YUM! Not overly sweet - it had the perfect amount of icing. It was almost a little doughy, exactly how I like a cinnamon roll. They heated it for me as well. There's tables to dine-in or grab your bagel to-go.

    Best breakfast place.

The place for a fantastic breakfast while in Macon. We visited during Macon's Cherry Blossom festival ,and stopped here for breakfast. Despite showing up super early, the place was packed already. You can tell this is a popular place with the locals. The bagels are fresh, and they offer a variety of sandwich combos. We went with a more traditional offering, and it was great. The coffee was so-so. Perhaps the blend of the day was more dunkin D type, and I prefer a more robust type. Overall, very cute place, with fresh bagels, and friendly service.

Yum! I love breakfast and I really love a good bagel. As a first-timer, the cashier was welcoming and friendly and had good suggestions . I got The Champ added cheese! The everything bagel with avocado x cheese x bacon, caramelized onion spread was simply divine. The flavors are explosive. The customer service is superb, and the location is amazing, and it has ample seating.

Neat little breakfast spot. The bagels were above average and the servers were fast and efficient.

I love this place. Just chatted with all the employees in there. Normally I ask who the owner is but they were so nice. We just kept chatting away so I wanna come back. there's a line out the door this morning. I'm sure it's like that every day. Simple menu, lots of awesome bagels sandwiches just waiting in the morning perfect you could sit in there hang out or you could take it to go and have a great day so I'm a big fan of this place already I can't wait to actually eat the thing but everything looks great and I'll be back.

Egg & cheese on everything bagel (add bacon & garlic aioli)

We were in Macon on Sunday morning and were craving a bagel- Macon Bagels saved the day! It was very easy to find and had street parking available right in front (very parking on Sunday AM!). The shop itself is just the perfect size - all the table the tables were full when we got there but within a few minutes of ordering, one was available. You order at the front and they call your name when it's is ready. My wife had a egg & cheese (add bacon + garlic aioli) on everything and I had the out of towner on everything with a pig in a blanket. Both of the bagels sandwiches were amazing- we both thought that the bacon, egg and cheese was the winner between the two. The garlic aioli really made the sandwich. We also appreciated that the eggs were patties versus friend eggs (it made it easier to eat). We really enjoyed it and have already planned to return next weekend.

Cute little place with bagels that are very close to authentic for the South. Delicious cookies too.

AN EXPERIENCE NOT JUST A MEAL…read more This place is located in a kind of seedy downtown area of Macon. We walked in and the vibe throughout the place won me over instantly. When the staff seem to enjoy their jobs and working with each other as well, chances are you have a winner. We were seated immediately in a cozy booth with floor to ceiling graffiti. The place just oozed character! We were told that at times in the loft above our heads they had live music FYI. The waitress was friendly and on point. We never found ourselves waiting to order or for drinks, etc. The food was great. We started with the solid gold soul rolls which were tasty. I'd say 2-3 people for this app. My wife had the hot pig and fig which she enjoyed. She wanted something a little light and it was perfect for her. I ordered the Dr John Burger. The cook forgot my bacon . No bueno. Our waitress was game and was quick to bring me bacon to complete the burger. It was well cooked and the flavors were excellent so all was good. Our companion enjoyed her food as well. We all left full and happy. And, yes I would return and I recommend trying them yourself.

The Rookery is definitely worth a visit if you're in downtown Macon. The atmosphere is fun,…read morewelcoming, and full of local character, and the service was friendly throughout our meal. We started with the fried green tomatoes, which were a great appetizer--crispy, flavorful, and a nice way to kick things off. For our entrées, we had the fish and chips and the smoked turkey sandwich. The fish had a nice crispy batter, and the smoked turkey sandwich was tasty and satisfying. My only disappointment was the fries. They were a bit soggy and lacked the crispiness I was hoping for, especially with the fish and chips. A crisp, hot fry would have taken the meal to the next level. Overall, the food was good, the atmosphere was enjoyable, and I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu.
