Visited J. Christopher's for the first time this weekend. Wasn't sure how things were gonna go after waiting for quite a few minutes for a server after being seated. I counted 21 people in the restaurant for brunch, plenty of servers, but none came to visit us. Finally had to ask for someone to take our order. Once we got a server there, things went better on that side. We ordered our food and I was pleased with the amount of food we received. The skillet bowl was very good. Second time here. The service (provided by Jasmin) was excellent. She is very pleasant, professional and consistently efficient. This time, I had the traditional breakfast. Eggs were ordered over-easy and arrived perfectly prepared. Bacon was crispy and the pieces were large. No complaints here! There were not many cars around the restaurant when we were there around 10:30 am on a Tuesday. We were a bit hesitated to stop by but figured why not. It was nice and quiet and we enjoyed the view. All 3 different breakfast dishes came out hot and perfectly prepared. The blueberry crunchcake was memorable! We never had pancake that good! We eat here once a month with friends. It has always been fine. I ordered a chicken breast, eggs, and sliced tomatoes. The chicken looked like a pork breakfast chop, dry, and a quarter of an inch thick. I had to cut it with my pocket knife which snapped on the plate each time I cut. The $3.00 sliced tomatoes were two slices, a dollar fifty each, and the eggs were like rubber. We haven't had a great experience at this location any time we've gone. The food itself looks like it would be excellent if it was served warmer but it's hard to enjoy because they are so slow. Always understaffed and we do see their hiring but it's even slow when there are just a few guest/tables sat. Have to remind the wait staff to bring things often having to get up to find the staff. If you step inside and have to wait to be seated; that's your clue it's probably not a good day to eat there. They gave a small discount for the long wait which we didn't inquire about and luckily they did remember to remove the items we never received. While you can expect that brunch on Mother's Day can be busy with long waits, during our visit after waiting for over an hour, another group took our spot on the wait list when our name was called. I looked visibly disappointed and Martin was exceptional with making the moment right and ensuring we were seated right away. He brought a calm and friendly energy to the situation. It was my first time ever being here out of my whole time living in Atlanta for 8 years and not sure why I didn't come sooner. My husband and I ordered the blueberry crunch pancake breakfast and that is definitely the best pancake I've had in a long time! Enjoyed it so much went twice in one week. Our server Ivet was super pleasant and good at her job! Servers make their own lattes here and I drank half of mine before I remembered to take a photo. It was DELICIOUS. My husband ordered the Bubba which comes with scrambled cheese eggs, fried potatoes and biscuits with gravy. He described the gravy as having the perfect amount of seasoning and consistency. I ordered the Strawberry waffle with whipped cream, bacon and a side of cheese grits. The bacon is quality, the strawberries were fresh and THE GRITS were silky and delicious. We waited 12 minutes before anyone took our order and that was after my husband complained, no one was in the restaurant. The manager brought us a complimentary cinnamon roll for wait with an apology which was very nice. The waiter was pleasant. I ordered a skillet corn beef hash. The eggs were good, but the potatoes were burnt and hard. There was very little corn beef hash in the skillet. The restaurant was clean, but we will not return. my wife and I went in to eat breakfast this morning. only 1 elderly couple, like us, eating in the whole restaurant. we ordered and it took a while to get our meal BUT. the pancackes were somewhat dry, the grits were lumpy and had been sitting a minute or two before being served to me. the biscuit was very dry and crumbly for my wife and the potatoes apparently were made much earlier because they were dried out. her sausage links had a little kick and should have been cooked a little longer. we went because we had a gift card. frankly, I don't know how they stay in business without much business and the quality of food. This location has gone totally downhill! My Family use to frequent here all the time. Last two times we walked out because the service was so bad!! First of all the parking lot was hard to get to. Go early. We got there at 8:45 on a Saturday and was pretty empty. We had the 2 egg, hash brown and English muffin and I had the veggie omelette and fruit and subbed the crumble blueberry pancake. The omelette was very overcooked. The pancake had no flavor and the crumble was soft. Can't mess up fruit. Will try again but pretty hard to mess up breakfast. read more

It's been a while since I've been to this restaurant, and I now remember why. 11:30 AM. The place was not busy. Sat at our table for 12 minutes before a waitress showed up and that was after I flagged somebody down and told them to find someone to wait on us or I was leaving. I ordered a waffle and requested at the time that I ordered sugar-free syrup and additional butter. The order arrived with regular syrup, and no additional butter. The food was not hot - not enough warmth to melt the waffle butter. The waitress returned with the sugar-free syrup, but forgot the butter. Now the food is cold. My wife had the blueberry crêpes, which were also delivered cold. Poor service, cold food, mediocre taste. Won't be back - a shame as I live close by. read more

Not really sure what the hype is with J. Christopher's as better omelet dishes can be found at other joints one exit north on 85 like Jack's or Pat's Eatery. Maybe going at 11 on a weekday - that not-quite-lunch, but just past breakfast time (wait, could that be ... brunch? The meal that J. Christopher's is known for?) - when their staff is turning around, wasn't the wisest of choices because many of the tables were still sloppy, the wait to be seated (when it was close to empty) was pokey, and the service was less than stellar. I was also surprised to notice that the shelf running between the booths was a thick layer of dust that was starting to settle into sticky territory from the food's residual grease wafting in the air. And speaking of grease, the omelet that I ordered was slippery and nothing extraordinary, and the vegetables that made up its filler were scant. On the plus side, I like the eclectic art on the walls, and that they leave a carafe of coffee on the table for ease of warm-ups. The restaurant's location, tucked in the shopping center's hidden corner, was once a Mellow Mushroom and while pizza is a farcry from breakfast fare, I think I would've preferred a greasy slice of pie to my omelet. read more

Came to eat brunch on a Saturday and after a lengthy wait to get our drinks we placed our order. And waited. And waited some more. My wife finished her coffee, I finished my drink, and then... No service. The person who took our order never came back to check on us, never refiled our drinks, never gave us an update on our order. In the old corner strip mall with Iron wok still booths like Mellow Mushroom or all the other failed places in this spot- but clean and somewhat crowded. So we both order the Egg Benny- one reg one Christopher, potatoes or grits. Got a side of bacon just to see what they offered- crispy thick cut, greasy thin cut. Have to say, not impressed. The eggs- I could have easily done at home as well as the potatoes and grits. Diner type place, mostly young people running- service was good but food just didn't do it for me. 2 eggs beeny and coffee $36 with tip. Eggs were cooked perfect, just a standard eggs benny with turkey instead of Canadian bacon, bowl of grits just like waffle house, and thats it. No special twist, a casual, less than classy atmosphere, so not sure why $11 for the entree. Then the bacon have to say was awful. First, they forgot it. Then it came out- undercooked, lots of fat- so greasy I wrapped it in my cloth napkin and the 3 small this slices of bacon soaked half the napkin with grease. Rolled it up and hid it in the napkin. Took a couple of bites and knew it would kill me so just not impressed. Some of the sandwiches looked ok but just not impressed enough to come back. It was fine, but again if I'm paying $40 for breakfast, I expect a classy atmosphere, a bit of creativity in the food and tastes. Will do at home next time and save $30. Sorry guys. I have only been to J Christopher's twice now and I am not satisfied with the customer service.The "white girl up front and the black one are extremely rude threating to kick me and my best mates out if we do not tip even though we can't afford it because of personal reasons. she even said "like they would know it was us". which shows lack of empathy and just complete and utter disrespect. This is the WORST location. I went into the restaurant this morning. Beat the crowds. Walked in for myself meaning one person. Nobody was at any of the tables or bar and I was told there was a 10 minute wait. Yet nobody was there. It was a strange exchange between myself and the host. I sat down for 10 minutes. Looked around at an empty bar and restaurant. Still didn't get sat. Very strange. I decided to leave after the rude host exchange and as I was walking out I looked back at the host and a group of waiters that watched me walk out. For a little God mother Godson quality time, I ventured to this place for breakfast. So far everyone seems super polite and professional. The speed of service is also noticeable. My waiter was a man by the name of Brett who seemed to stay on the ball with making sure everything was ok. I ordered the French vanilla caramel which was good a little on the sweet side but delicious none the less. My Godson ordered the blueberry pancakes topped with granola and whipped cream,and I got the grits with bacon and jalapeño. Definitely great food. The flavor of the grits was evident and the jalapeño added the right amount of spice. I'll definitely come back. read more
