I went here with a few colleagues for dinner. We ordered the octopus salad, loaded potato egg rolls. The rolls were crispy and delicious. It's probably my first time trying the octopus - not a great fan of cold sea food salad, so I'd rate it below par. For entrees, while all my colleagues got the prime rib, I got the seared scallops over orecchiette pasta. Definitely one of the scallops and pasta I ate in a while. The calamari with peppers and onions was tasty and came out first; it seemed intentional that the soup and salad were held back. The server was pleasant but very matter-of-fact when I asked about the lobster bisque, simply saying it was on the way. The lobster bisque was flavorful, though saltier than usual. K said the Caesar salad was average. The bread was fresh and warm, though I would have preferred butter instead of the tomato sauce (even though the sauce itself was enjoyable). Service was slow overall and the food took a while to arrive. The crab cake was fairly bready and fried dark, but acceptable. K said the 14-oz ribeye was well prepared. The crab Oscar was overly salty. The mashed potatoes and fried chicken were solid choices. I substituted broccolini for green beans for a $2 upcharge, and it was worth it. This is an updated review after our second visit to Aqua Terra Bistro since moving to the area. Our first dinner was good but didn't quite match the price -- some dishes were just okay, and the smaller room we were seated in felt a bit flat, with half the faux candles unlit. That said, service was excellent, and we were open to giving it another try. Glad we did. This time, everything felt more on point. The crab cakes with coconut rice, pureed carrots, and plantains were flavorful and well-balanced. The shrimp & grits were a hit, and the Lobster Bisque was just as good as we remembered. We were seated in a room with much better vibes, which made a big difference. Happy we gave it another shot -- we'll definitely be back. read more

Really good unique restaurant in historic Buford . The staff is very friendly and welcoming. We arrived for lunch so we ordered from their lunch menus a few appetizers and drinks . The potato egg roll was interesting. I think it was a bit too soft texture wise because of the mashpotato the crust was a bit under fried the entire egg roll was extremely mushy. The drinks were great . I had an old fashioned and my sister a martini which she enjoyed . The bread with the balsamic sauce was interesting a first for me but really tasty with the bread . The ceaser salad was good could have used a bit more dressing it was slightly dry but the truffle fries were perfect. Wonderful ambience like pub / rustic restaurant mix . It's also a lot bigger than it looks . Would definitely return to try other things on the menu ! read more

This place gets actually six out of five stars for over the top friendly staff, awesome food, and a great atmosphere! Me and my wife popped in here after getting our Christmas photos done for a nice brunch and we were not disappointed. The waitress did her best to make our experience really nice with a baby. She even held the baby for a few minutes while we ate so we could finish our meals. I had the burger which had a pretty awesome compliment of toppings! It was pretty good! My wife had crab cake Benedict which she really enjoyed too. We had crème brûlée for dessert which was honestly very good! The prices of the drinks weren't too steep so that was a plus and we were really happy with the food and service! We will definitely return! read more

This is our third time here. The ambiance is old. Smells old, feels old. The food is good not great. Went here with friends, drinks were good. They pour a 12 oz beer in a 16 oz glass. Looks 2/3 full. We ordered apps which were all very good. I ordered the swordfish. It was overcooked. The coconut rice mushy, veggies were good and the pickled melon a good acidic touch. Hubby ordered the short ribs and they were delicious. Most of the meals looked great. We had a sweet waitress but we were shoved into a tight corner for 8. All in all might be back again. read more

It was my 1st time here with one of my really good friends and her mom. The service was very good. Jenny was our server and she was amazing.. very attentive, and very nice. The food was very good. The martinis and the wine were absolutely amazing.. the food was very good as well. The ambiance was very rustic and a very cool restaurant. The berry creme brulee and port wine was very good. The ONLY complaint I would have would have is we were talking and catching up, and the manager came to us telling us we had to leave because people were waiting on our table. I don't think I've ever been kicked out of a restaurant before. I think they should of told us that we had a time limit at our table so we could of planned accordingly. I'm not sure I'll return again because of the time limit.. but the food and service by Jenny was excellent! read more

Great food, great service and even better event space. My sister and I were planning a surprise 70th birthday for my mom and were looking at aqua terra bistro to host the event. They let us know that they did not have room in their restaurant but they did have an event space called room 99. We toured the space and the event manager Kelsea did everything in her power to make sure that our event was a success. I couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. If you are ever in the Buford area, definitely try out aqua Terra bistro. They have a delicious bread that serve complementary with a tomato spread and everything else on their menu is really delicious. The event space has a very warm feel to it and the waiters from aqua terra bistro assist with everything you need at the event space. read more

Hidden jewel. I have lived in Buford for 6 years and can't believe it took so long to try their food. I had country fried chicken meal, and it was the best I ever had. The chicken was well seasoned and fried to perfection, the gravy was thick and flavorful, the garlic mash was yummy, and I ate all the green beans first they were so good. They do come with bacon but I subtracted them. 10/10 highly recommend. read more

A perfect evening and dinner. This is one of our favorite places to eat in downtown Buford. We arrived very early for our 615 reservation. They sat us anyway and Autumn our waitress had a great smile everytine she visited our table and very friendly throughout the night. The piano player was a very nice touch. She was not too loud and yet you could here in the background, very nice. Sadly, no tips were in her jar at around 8 so we tried to make it worth her while to play for everyone. We started with beer / wine and added the bacon wrapped dates appetizer, it was awesome as always. Next we both ordered the cranberry dijon grouper special, it was amazing, the fish very fresh tasting and cooked to perfection with the hazelnut risotto and asparagus, wow what a dish. The service was absolutely wonderful! However all of the food was lack luster. My table of 6 all ordered different things and none of it had any flavor. All of us were unhappy from appetizers to the meal. My husband and I could not even finish our meal because it tasted like nothing. I had to ask for salt and pepper just to get a little flavor in there. I'd much rather take my $200 for dinner down to bare bones or Frankie's. We all got seated and admittedly, service was a bit slow getting water and then ordered drinks to us. Once we ordered entrees the pace picked up to a more normal pace and food began to come flowing out to us! I think they got all the orders perfectly and were attentive to refills and condiments. My Salmon BLT was perfect!! Nice hint of sweetness to it but the salmon and bacon were perfectly cooked! Grits were perfect as well. 4Stars only due the early lag in service which AT soon corrected. Aqua Terra Best Kept Secret in Buford? Secret you say... I've been going there since 2003. Buford's original fine dining... but this wasn't dining, it was breakfast on a beautiful, rainy, cool Sunday. Brunch/breakfast on Sat and Sun. Open at 10am both days. Who knew? At least I didn't. Always enjoyed Aqua Terra, usually on a quieter night (rainy Thurs were my MO). Heard from friends who go frequently so I went today. I still read a Sun paper so it's the ideal setup at the bar. Jennie was there to greet me as always, and Todd and Ivee were serving the bar as we enjoyed the conversation and mimosas. Great service... Great dishes... or you can à la carte eggs, bacon, Belgian waffle, grits, fruit bowl. What's not to love? Wonderful addition to the weekend breakfast scene in Buford. First off I've been here quite a few times and just trust me when I say whatever comes with the bread...just order more of it because you'll need it. So, it had been awhile since we've been here and decided to come here for our friend's birthday dinner. We got a table downstairs and settled in. It was a bit loud downstairs so just keep that in mind. I started with a wine flight then switched to a glass of wine. Several in our party tried beer or mixed drink suggestions. All the drinks were delightful. We wanted to try a few appetizers so we ordered the ahi tuna bites, the flatbread, and the bacon wrapped dates. Every bit of it was amazing. The ahi tuna bites were so fresh and a great combo of flavors, the flatbread (make sure you like mushrooms) was the perfect ratios of toppings in my opinion, the bacon wrapped dates had a great flavor as well with the goat cheese and beets complimenting it perfectly. I got the pan roasted halibut as my main course. The fish was cooked perfectly and the risotto is so creamy and delicious. I can't remember what everything else was but it was all delicious. The only thing my husband complained about was the broccolini in that it lacked flavor compared to everything else. The Cesar is delightful and enough to share! read more

We were exploring around lake lanier but, it was extremely hot outside. We needed an indoor AC restaurant and found this little gem! We sat at the bar since we had an early brunch at Wolf Mountain. We met Heather the bartender! She was very friendly, knowledgeable and made some great recommendations for my hubby. She brought out the bread with this AMAZING DIPPING SAUCE that blew our mind! Lucky for us they sell a big mason jar of this magical stuff! He ordered the chimichurri Ribeye , Ahi tuna bites, and the loaded potato egg rolls. When we went home he reheated his food and Said " WOW" that Ribeye was so tender and flavorful .. I will definitely go back for more"! I didn't see any where on the menu that the loaded potato egg rolls had any meat ( Bacon). I am a vegetarian and took a bite... oh gosh I unfortunately got sick. However, the hubby LOVED IT! He also said that The Ahi Tuna was also outstanding!
