So this is a standard breakfast spot. Decent food for breakfast and lunch. The one in Brookhaven is in a string of bars, shops, and restaurants, so it's a great area to walk around too. I had a friendly experience, the service was fast, the food was good. It was not anything overly dazzling, but it was solid if all you needed was a breakfast or a brunch spot that you wouldnt have to worry about hookah or trap music (not everyone is into that in Atlanta I guess lol). Tons of parking in the area located in a really nice place. Prices are obviously very decent. They have a huge menu selection including breakfast pancakes, eggs, toast, grits among other things. Came to J. Christopher's for the first time in well over a year. This was one of my favorite after-mass breakfast places, and I'd come to the location once or twice a month. Free parking in the lot behind the restaurant was easy to find. R and I entered through the back door. There was a host station just inside, and no one was staffing it, so we kept walking toward the paining dining area. A server saw us and told us that we could sit anywhere that didn't have a blue X made with tape on the table. We looked around, and the tables without Xs on them allowed for acceptable social distancing. We chose a table and sat down. While waiting for our server, I didn't really notice any big changes in the restaurant, other than most of the servers were different than the regulars who used to work here. The employees wore face masks, and face masks are required for customers. Paintings, most of them colorful and some of them in black in white, took up much of the wall space. All of the tables were stripped down - no spices, no napkins, no condiments ... nothing. There are tables outside in the side patio that is shaded by the building. Our server came by with eating utensils wrapped in a cloth napkin, and two menus. She took our drink order. While she was gone, I noticed that they had St Patrick's Week Specials still going on, so I checked them out and noticed they had a Reuben sandwich as one of the specials. Our server returned with our drinks and took our orders. I ordered the Reuben sandwich special with oven-roasted potatoes. R ordered the spinach and bacon skillet which included two sunny side up eggs. After about 10 minutes, our food was served. Just like the service, the food was just ok. My Reuben sandwich was soggy on the bottom, and there wasn't very much meat in it - maybe three slices of corned beef, if that, that was cooked on the grill before being put in the sandwich with sauerkraut and everything else. I don't suggest getting this sandwich. The oven-roasted potatoes looked great, but were dry and a little crunchy. Meh. R said his food was good. When we were done eating, we wanted the check, but the server wasn't around. We had to wait another five minutes before we saw here, and R flagged her down. When we were leaving, there was no acknowledgement from any of the employees, so this was consistent with us not being acknowledged when we entered. Overall, the mid to high energy and excellent customer service that this location had pre-pandemic fell to low energy level and not so good customer focus. read more

So, two of my friends work at this location and one of them brought quesadillas to one of our hang outs. I had no clue they had quesadillas and had no clue their quesadillas were amazing! Seriously, they were the best I've had, besting out the old style quesadillas they used to serve up at Chili's (before they changed their recipe and the quesadillas went downhill). The tortilla is nicely grilled and crispy, and there is the perfect amount of cheese & chicken. Plus, the beans! Oh my, very tasty. I decided to order take out last week from here and get the chicken quesadillas. The place is in a quaint spot in Brookhaven, nestled in off the sidewalk. You can find a ton of parking behind the building or opt for street parking. The place is very small but nice. I'd say they have about 10-12 booths and 6-8 tables. Very open. They were following social distancing protocol with spacing out guests and wearing gloves & masks. This spot is perfect if you have any safety concerns. When I walked in I was greeted with happy faces, despite the fact that it was Christmas Eve and all he stresses that come with the holiday season, and I goes to sit at the "bar." Tucked away on the backside of a building, is this hidden gem. Yes, there are other locations around Atlanta and I think I have been before but I dont recall; Okay, I eat out alot. It was early one Sunday morning, and I was trying to get breakfast on the table. There was plenty of time to eat, but the wait to eat was about 15 minutes. The sundried tomato bacon egg dish I had was something to go back and have again. Plus, it had blue cheese crumbles. I also ordered a pancake with blueberries but barely got through half of it. I had to make a decision on what to eat as it was so much food but I decided on the sundried tomato bacon egg dish. There was only room for one and this was the best choice. Family-friendly and coffee in the lobby for those waiting for a table. There is often a wait as most restaurants in the area don't open til closer to lunch because of alcohol sale times. However, you can get on the waitlist from your phone and I would highly recommend! Food is consistent and fresh. I haven't had any bad experiences. Service can be hit or miss when there is a crowd. Be sure to request any extra things like Jelly etc. that you need upfront. Christopher's a good, solid place - nothing spectacular but always satisfying. The local chain is busy every time I go, but tables turn pretty swiftly. It's especially popular on weekends, attracting lots of families with children and young adults. I usually dine with adults but when I came with my niece & nephew, I realized why it's such a family friendly spot. They're very accommodating to kids, providing coloring pages, crayons, kids seating & a kids menu. And the price point doesn't break the bank. On most visits, I get an omelette ($7.79) or an eggs Benedict ($8.99) and I'm a happy girl. I LOVE their blueberry crunchcakes so I'll often sub the English muffin for a crunchcake (+$1.50). My niece and nephew got the strawberry crepes ($6.79) and loved them. What's not to love about strawberries, whipped cream & syrup?! The pantry feast ($9.59) is another fave on days when I'm super hungry, indecisive or just hungover!! It's SO much food & you get a little bit of everything. Actually all dishes are very generous serving sizes. Other items I like include the yogurt parfait ($5.49) and the cinnamon roll. And I like the section for diet-conscious diners - egg white omelettes, fresh fruit, turkey bacon, etc... The coffee is pretty good. I haven't tried their hot chocolate or lattes, but they always tempt me. My least favorite item is their grits - even with cheese & added salt/pepper, they're very bland. I'd go with breakfast potatoes instead of grits. I've had a few lunch items (soups, salads, etc...) but I think they do a better job with breakfast. I ordered the San Bernardino omelette last weekend at the Sandy Springs location; it was giant and full of ingredients. I ordered it here and it was probably the most pathetic omelette I have ever eaten- it was not even 1/4 the size of the one last week. This is not an isolated incident however, as each time we have visited the food is disappointing. I totally dig this colorful breakfast joint. Brookhaven is one of my favorite neighborhoods in the ATL area and we stopped in to try their menu for lunch. I ordered one of their skillets. While I'm not a fan of these at most restaurants, I was pleasantly surprised at my entree choice that day. My spinach and bacon skillet had 2 sunnyside eggs with cubed potatoes, sun-dried potatoes, bacon, blue cheese and spinach. YUM! My boyfriend choose to keep it healthy with the Goddess omelet. The omelet was made with egg whites, diced tomatoes, spinach and feta cheese. The colored coffee mugs were a nice touch. The restaurant itself is colorful, bright and has a great positive atmosphere. It'd been quite awhile since I'd visited any J. Christopher's to eat (last year was mostly to buy a gift certificate) until today. I'm bunking at my parents due to my apartment building having a tree in it, and this was convenient for both J and me before work. We went for something unusual for us - one of their "skillets" - hash brown type potatoes with toppings - we went for the ham and mushroom, which on the menu says has a dash of red onion (cool) but doesn't mention the peppers (red, ok, but green, eep!! I despise them) and cheese. Somehow I didn't get a single bit that had green onion, so all was copacetic and the dish was actually really good. We got toast on the side which was a thicker white bread than at, say, WaHo, and yummy. Good coffee. Nice staff. I don't know how long I'll be up Brookhaven way, but I will happily go back. read more

Today the service wasn't great. I was seated outside since I had my dog with me, but I was just kind of forgotten about out there. The food was mixed. The chorizo scramble was good, but the side of potatoes was under cooked and portions were raw. The coffee tasted funny today also. Normally it's fine, but it was as if there was still soap left in the coffee pot or my mug or something. They also apparently changed their military discount policy from every day to only the 11th of each month. Not a big deal, but it will affect my decision to how often I eat there. read more
