    Beef Shish Kabob Entree

Absolutely horrible. No flavor. Hard pita. Rough meat. Flavorless rice. Never ever going here again.

Delicious and plentiful portions. Grilled meats were exceptional. Vegetables were fresh and delightfully prepared. Baba Ganoush had a delightfully creamy texture and smokey flavor. Very friendly and kind staff. Food was prepared fresh as we waited and dined in. Took home leftovers. Would definitely repeat.

A hidden gem! We stopped in at 8:45pm just before closing, and the staff were super nice, they welcomed us to dine in even though they close at 9, they stayed till 9:30 when we finished, and gave us great service through and through. Huge entree, enough to share for two people. Fries were fresh. No stale fries. We also ordered 4 beef samosas which tasted authentic and delicious, not overly stuffed with only onions and no meat inside like most places, these samosas went great with a cup of chai (upon request). Can't get over the great service, I hope this place gets good business. I noticed their catering menu as well and it's definitely more affordable than the bigger and more popular middle eastern/ Mediterranean restaurants. I will be coming back.

Delicious food. Family owned. It's called fast food but not sure why. They make everything from scratch.

I'd rate it on par, or even better, than San Francisco's Burmese options. Service was much friendlier here, that's for sure! Tawk was a delightful host...making jokes along with dish recommendations. Sadly, we gobbled up the food before I remembered to take photos. D'oh! I highly recommend the Tea Leaf salad--a Burmese staple and a real treat if you haven't had it before. Very flavorful and just a hint of spice (don't eat the sliced peppers if you're spice-adverse, but we devoured them). We also had Shan Noodles (B8). I also recommend that. A mild to medium spice level and very tasty. Generous portions. Two dishes was enough for two though I wish we had tried the spring rolls or samosas too--we might have had leftovers if we had! The restaurant itself is inviting and clean. They did a good job considering the location in a strip mall. The lighting looks nice, and the textured walls add to the inviting ambience.

Pretty quiet for a Saturday night, however with nice music playing in the background I felt right at home. Rare to find Burmese restaurants outside of the West Coast. Naturally, the first thing I ordered was the tea leaf salad, followed by moh-hin-gar and nangyi dok with beef. All 3 dishes were delicious and I would order them again. There were a lot of vegan options too. I don't often think of the suburbs as a dining destination, but this was certainly worth the stop on the way back the city from West Chicago.

They still sell bananas and local Middle Eastern cookies from Chicago bakeries for desesrt. The menu might have changed slightly, but fans of Pita X-Press will probably find their favorites. We ordered a vegetarian platter, which had baba ghanouj, hummus, two kinds of cucumber salad, four falafels, and a generous, freshly warmed pita. It was enough food for a light lunch for two. We enjoyed watching the cars pass under the Belvidere Oasis as we ate our food. So glad that this business is back.

The moment we walked in, the plane of Panda Express went down the drain as the first food stall was Pita X-press. Full fledge Mediterranean menu with onsite fresh shawarma, pita wraps, falafel were just irresistible. I went for #4 gyro with rice and salad. My friend had chicken, gyro and rice. They were happy to offer a range of sauces and add extra meat for free. It tasted fresh and delicious. The best part was enjoying the food on the benches right on the top of I-90, the real oasis experience. Courteous staff. Great food. Cheap gas lol. It may sound like guilty pleasure to go to an oasis in wilderness to enjoy Mediterranean food, but I am definitely going there again.

Service was fairly quick, and there's decent seating inside, perfect for catching up with friends or relaxing solo with a drink. We tried the karak chai, which was super flavorful and refreshing, and the madras coffee -- which honestly stole the show! It tastes just like authentic filter coffee from India, rich and perfectly balanced. The bun with malai and honey was light, fluffy, and paired perfectly with our drinks -- a simple but absolutely delicious snack. Definitely recommend this spot if you love authentic chai or South Indian-style coffee -- a true hidden gem worth visiting!

It took about 15 for the roll to come out and then another 10-15 minutes for the samosa chaat out and they literally forgot the doodh pathi until we asked about it at the end. The excuse was that they were making it from scratch? The roll was decent, really just tasted and felt like they got the ingredients from Patel Brothers and threw it together. Same with the somosa chaat, which didn't even have a samosa. It was just one deconstructed samosa crushed along the plate and covered in yogurt and some chutneys. There was more chickpeas than samosa. Both dishes were something I'd expect to put together at home last minute if a guest showed up unannounced and even then i'd be embarrassed to serve this stuff. We got the doodh pathi finally as we were heading out and we expected a soothing drink of tea leaves brewed in milk. Unfortunately all you taste is milk. Wouldn't recommend

The vibe inside is lowkey but elegant, great for a quiet night out or a new food experience with friends or family. The menu reflects a wide variety of authentic dishes -- some comforting, others bold and new depending on your palate. Pelmeni (dumplings): Very strong in flavor, not what I'm typically used to. The texture might take some getting used to -- I wasn't the biggest fan, but my friend loved it. Plov: So flavorful and hearty -- slightly on the greasy side but still really satisfying. Manty: If you're into juicy, steamed dumplings, this is the move. The spices are deep and warming. Honey Cake: Hands down one of my favorites.
