I hate to even drive past this place.
I haven't written reviews in 5 months but I felt compelled to write one, just for this establishment.
Back when it was called "Mike's Nails", I gave this place a chance-- that was a bust.
The owner here messaged me a few months ago after I wrote a 1-star review for Mike's Nails, asking me to try the place again and even tried explaining that JB Nails stood for "Just Beautiful" Nails. I think they should change the acronym meaning to JUST BAD nails!
I came back sometime in September after one of my friends said that they changed the place and that it's really nice on the inside. I'm not gonna deny it, it is nice inside... it's super clean, they provide customers with a water or tea incentive and they also have great quality nail polishes (eg. OPI, Essie). I got the European Mani/Pedi and I wasn't impressed whatsoever. The same dude who man-handled me helped me again (and yes, his name is Mike) and I already thought, "Oh no". It wasn't too bad though; he's a buff-muscular guy so there were times when he wasn't very gentle (or maybe he remembered the bad review I wrote, lol). What annoyed me about this visit was how thick Mike laid that nail polish on my nails. I had to ask him to fix it at least 3x before I decided to leave... I wasted 3 hours and $40 here and when I got home the nail polish smeared on my brand new beige tank top! UGH!!
My last and final visit for life was the day before my birthday. My sister and I came here and I was helped by some lady with wavy hair and to put it mildly, she seriously SUCKED SO BAD! From the moment I sat on the chair, I knew I wasn't going to enjoy my $35+ European Mani/Pedi...
-- First of all, I should mention that NOT ONCE during my 3 visits here did these incompetent fools use anything to separate my toes with!!
-- Second, the lady that "helped me" kept messing up at least 5x (and this was just in the beginning of my session).
-- Third, this bimbo didn't even use the proper callous remover cream, she used Cuticle Softener as a callous remover. Now I'm not a noob; I know that most nail salons use it too, but that's only if you don't spend the extra money to get the actual remover... (and keep in mind that I was spending $35+ on mine and my sister's Euro Mani/Pedi so the least she could have done was tell us and not charge us for something that we didn't even get-- that THEY were supposed to provide).
-- Fourth, I asked for a design and she told me to choose something else because she didn't know how to do it. I appreciated her honesty so I changed my selection and when she was about to attempt "designing" my toe, she said that she would do something similar... I thought "OK, at least she'll get close to do the design I picked". WRONG. The "similar design" she came up with was absolutely horrendous! I don't even think she looked at the design I chose. After she finished, she asked "You like it?" to which I honestly answered, "No." (I'm not gonna lie, I'm not gonna waste $5 on a shit-acious design and I'm also not gonna have some ugly ass flower on my toe). I could tell she got angry by the way she removed it off. I told her that it was OK and that I just won't get a design. She tried to talk me into still keeping a design but I politely declined.
She messed up another 29382409 million times and didn't even bother to clean up the sloppiness. How hard is it to paint nails? I'm sure my 3 year old niece could have done a better job! Geez. I spent $70 on mine and my sister's shit nails (and that's not including the undeserving tip that I so generously gave) which ended up getting fucked up when I got home. I was livid. Thanks for making my nails look atrocious on my birthday!
This might sound cliche but Yelp needs to come up with a 0-star or a negative star rating because that's what JUST BAD Nails would get from me!
I loathe JB Nails with a passion. Not once during my 3 visits did any of these incompetent manicurists even attempt to hold a conversation with me. Bad service, unfriendly and unwelcoming environment and horrible technique. Please don't waste your time or give this establishment even half a penny from your pocket! read more
