They charged me like $50-100 for air filters that cost like $5-15 at the parts store! My husband ended up calling because they were charging like $200 for labor just to put in 3 air filters that take about 5 mins each. Then they checked brakes (they said this is standard practice) and said they needed to be changed (they confessed to my husband on the phone they have a policy if brakes are at 40% good then they tell people they need to be changed but don't tell the people that but of info). They took hub caps off to look and when they put them back on they didn't line them up correctly on one tire and forced it on causing it to crack. They saw a woman (me) come in and did the quintessential thing and uncharged me for everything because I am not the "car" person. This place is horrible. I requested to just purchase the tire and I was told can't just give me a tire I purchased, they have to mount it (it's company policy they can't just sell it to me.) I have a preference for mechanic but I decided to go with it because I was advised by Ben tires plus was the only one who had the tires. I was told that it would be an hour and a half to change the one tire (I brought it with me and the car was elsewhere). He ended up getting the tire changed quickly. That same night, I get in my car to head home and the psi is at 16 on a brand new tire, I filled it back to 32 but Sunday morning at 7:45 it's back at 16. I go back to the store as soon as it opens and speak with Ben again requesting someone to look at the tire since it's new, I wanted to make sure I didn't run over a nail and it was mounted properly. Ben is clearly stressed out and frustrated which I get but the response of "well I don't know how long it will be because I wasn't expecting you" isn't a comforting or acceptable answer. I wasn't expecting to have to return after I just left 24 hours ago. The tire removed and checked by a different technician. I didn't speak with the technician directly instead I was advised the tire is perfectly fine and I have a hairline crack on the rim by Ben. I asked is that something they would usually notice when installing the tire, he stated no. They don't do those types of repairs but I'll keep having the same issue. Since the tire was mounted again I haven't lost any air in 48 hours.

Since then, I have had to return it three times for the same issue. Each time, the service team acknowledged the leakage. I paid $1610.14 for the first visit. For the subsequent two visits, they agreed to replace the defective parts again at no additional cost. The last time I picked up the truck, I drove it home and parked it. On July 9th, when I drove it again, it initially ran fine but then started acting up. The "add engine oil" light came on, and the vehicle stalled. I had it towed home and noticed a puddle of oil where it had been parked. I did not check for leaks before driving because I was assured the issue was fixed. I called Tire Plus and spoke with Jason, the supervisor. He claimed it wasn't their fault that the vehicle was in such a condition. I explained that they were the only ones who had worked on the vehicle. After some discussion, he agreed to have it towed to the local Ford dealership, where it has been since around July 11th. The service representative handling my case has since left, and the matter has been reassigned. I have made several attempts to resolve this issue and have been patient throughout the process. I just want my vehicle to run as it did before the initial repair. I have spoken to the area representative, Andrew, once and the regional representative, Bruce, twice. Both assured me they would look into it, but I have not received any follow-up calls. I had read online that it could be a fuse or wiring issue & knew that going into it. I called asking for a quote and after talking to the very kind receptionist who wanted to make sure my questions were answered, she handed me off to Garry directly. Garry gave me very reasonable pricing quotes for the brakes & oil change and let me know that the front electrical issue could be a few things (describing what I mentioned above) so he wouldn't know how to price it yet. I asked if they did electrical repairs and he said yes and would give me quote after the inspection. I asked for my car to be inspected for those 3 issues specifically and later discussed the pricing for repairs/to see if I would like to move forward with them & I happily agreed, to the tune of less than $300 (which I honestly think was a steal, since i was previously up charged by dealership mechanics). After paying and picking up my car, I showed my husband that my stereo worked (I had sound! The stereo showed the time! I could do more than just eject a disk! Yay!) and that the rear view mirrors were adjustable again (Yay!) by adjusting the right mirror. I went to adjust the left mirror and it all shut off, the power to the stereo/sound/mirrors didn't work anymore. I turned the car off and on again to see if it was a fluke, it wasn't. It wasn't fixed. I went inside and calmly let the receptionist know that all the electrical stuff went out again (with Garry sitting right next to her at his desk). I didn't raise my voice, my face was hot with embarrassment and a bit of irritation, and I let them know that the same electrical issue I had, just happened again. I wasn't happy that he said they would inspect my car and find the electrical issue cause (which i assume meant figure out if it was the fuse or the wiring DURING THE INSPECTION) and fix it--not just plug in a new fuse and move on, and they clearly didn't. Garry said "We replaced the fuse and it worked so we can check it on Monday" I say "Okay... but the issue is that I paid for it be fixed.. and it wasn't? Can i get a note that says you will check it on Monday and fix it?" and ask several times for a written note that says that (I prefer written acknowledgment over a verbal agreement, and wanted that statement so I could hold them to a timeline if an issue were to arise) and both him and the receptionist ignored/breezed past that despite my requests. I know that it's not a normal request but it's far from an unreasonable request and if he didn't want to, he could've easily said so but instead he said "You can just bring it by on MONDAY and we'll check it??" I say, "Okay? but I paid for it to be fixed and it wasn't so--", he cut me off annoyed, "REFUND HER, her TEN DOLLARS" like I had been begging for a refund. I am confused and say "That's not what I want..." I pause and try to clarify why I want the "paper trail" and say nervously, "It's just that.. I saw some reviews online and some of them said they've brought their cars in for service and also had issues with it after and that--they weren't fixed, so I want a paper to say that--" and Garry's face turned immediately angry. He cut me off again and told his secretary "REFUND her TWELVE DOLLARS." angrily. I started to say again that that wasn't what I cared about and he cut me off repeating himself as the receptionist grabbed cash. She handed it to me as I looked at both of them confused and said "So can I bring it in on Monday..?" and with a scowl he said "No, you won't be taking it to my shop anymore. You're NOT ALLOWED here any more, you can find SOMEWHERE ELSE to get your repairs done." I was confused and baffled, looked at him with shock and confusion as he turned to a mechanic at his desk and proceeded to ignore me. I turned to the receptionist with the same look on my face as she handed me the cash and said quietly, "I'm so sorry" I looked at her, saying "Okay..?" and then smiled saying, "Thank you very much." and left. I was refused service by Garry directly, and it was very likely because I mentioned bad reviews and asked for a note for accountability's sake since a verbal promise really wouldn't guarantee anything except potentially my time wasted. It's sad because I was really excited yesterday and earlier today about having a regular auto shop to go to and to have a mechanic/shop owner that I know won't up charge me because I'm a woman. I'm not going to suggest anyone not go here for services BUT I will suggest that if you do, you PROBABLY shouldn't bring up any negative criticisms/bad reviews on sites such as Yelp/Google, which speaks for itself.. Online reviews helped me find a quick and affordable place like Garry's AND will NOW HELP YOU not get banned & refused service there haha!

During our…read moreconversation, he acknowledged a breakdown in communication between the original technician and the one who later attempted to complete the work. He admitted that key information wasn't properly passed along. Eddie also confirmed that the confrontation with the tow truck driver did occur, and while he acknowledged it was an unfortunate situation, he said there was blame to go around. That said, my experience with Butler's Automotive, located at 1401 Reynolds Street in Augusta, Georgia, was truly awful. We initially brought our Toyota Tundra in to have the rear wheel bearings replaced. After the job was supposedly completed, I noticed a persistent noise while driving. I returned and asked them to recheck the work. They told me the bearings were fine and instead claimed the driveshaft needed to be replaced. They quoted me $2,200 to install a new driveshaft. Alternatively, if I provided my part, they would charge $400 for installation. I was also told that if I chose not to proceed with the installation, I would still owe $200 for labor already performed. I ordered a new driveshaft and had it shipped directly to their shop. After the driveshaft arrived, they told me it wouldn't work and insisted I now owed $400--double the amount originally stated if I chose not to go forward with the job. When I pushed back and reminded them of the $200 agreement, they justified the higher charge by citing time spent moving the truck in and out of the bay. Though I strongly disagreed, I paid the $400 just to get my vehicle back. Once I had the truck, I installed the same driveshaft myself without issue. The part simply required a universal joint strap--something any competent technician should have recognized and handled easily. Their claim that the part didn't fit was unfounded. To make matters worse, when the tow truck driver arrived to retrieve my vehicle, Eddie and several employees were disrespectful and used profanity toward him. Their behavior was completely unprofessional and uncalled for. In total, I lost $400--$200 in unnecessary shop fees and $200 for towing--due to poor communication, misdiagnoses, and unprofessional conduct. While I appreciate the partial refund, the overall experience was unacceptable. I would not recommend Butler's Automotive to anyone. If I could give them a rating below one star, I would.

And for someone who has had more lemons than diamonds in my life, I typically do not enjoy the experience. Last year I once again came to this point of decision, costly repair or start over. It was time to start over. I owned a Kia many years ago and that car lasted for quite a number of years. The only reason we sold it was because we were wanting something with more space. This time, I needed the same (three furry family members in tow on trips). What I found here was above and beyond what I could have hoped for. 2019 Niro (smaller SUV), hybrid, minimal miles (dealer used vehicle). Since then I have had to have the radio console replaced (no charge-was already an issue at time of purchase) and two oil changes and both were a smooth process. When I told the salesman that, he quickly told me that 'we have a lot of people flying in to buy Tellurides so our policy is that we don't let people test drive them." I could hardly believe my ears. He defended that by saying that these people who flew in didn't like to see miles on the cars. When I responded that I didn't like to buy $50,000 cars without driving them he said, "well, we have $12,500 markup over MSRP on the Telluride. if you sign a paper saying you will agree to the $12,500 mark up, you can drive the car.
