Took my vehicle to Rick's on July 21st, 10 days later I called to check in to see what was going on with my car. The lady whom answered the phone said hold a minute then I finally got to talk with someone after waiting 15 minutes. A gentle man got on the phone the shop manager and said oh your car was a total loss I was like what why wasn't I called he said I have no clue. Sir you are the manager! Mind you they did an estimate on May 9th, and it wasn't a loss then. Will never do business with them again!!! Waiting 10 days to call the opener is crazy and very poor customer service. read more

Tyler, Murphy and his team took great care of me. I needed a Sprinter RV Van windshield replacement which is not easy to find a shop that can do it. Not only were they able to get the OEM glass, they calibrated it perfectly for all the features Mercedes puts into their van contingent on properly calibrated glass (lane assist, rain detection for auto wipers, etc.). The van is lifted 6" which made the camera calibration a challenge and they did not give up until it was perfect. I highly recommend them. When it comes to this type of work, you can always find someone cheaper. But if you want OEM quality work done right the first time, they are definitely the best bet and value! requested service and got an estimate. They kept asking if I was going through insurance which seems sketchy. I asked to itemize the work and total was 6,000ish dollars and 5 days. I asked for them to only work on one part of the car and agreed on 1,000 and 8 hours for their work. 3 months later they tried charging me 2,500$ minimum and were projecting 9-12 days. Several years ago, I took my car to Rick's after it was hit in a parking lot. For several months they kept telling me how they would have her as good as new...as soon as they got the parts. Eventually, they told me they didn't want to do the work and to take my car somewhere else. I should have. I did not want to go to the bottom of the list at another shop. They eventually said they would do the work if I gave them two thousand dollars right then and there. I did. A couple of months later, I picked up my car. The major work was done but they left plenty for me to take care of. They left the running board swinging by two retainer pins...one on each end. They said I could come back in a week to pick up the driver side mirror and attach it myself. The interior of the passenger side door was not installed properly. The edges were not tucked in. They also left some kind of sticky residue on the back of the car that took a lot of work to remove. I will say the paint job was good. I know Rick's can do good work. This is the second time they worked on my car and the first time was very good...even though I had to supply the parts. But the second time...stringing me on and then saying they didn't want to work on my car. And then insulting me by demanding two grand on the spot... It's strange. If you are in business to provide a service, why would you NOT provide that service? The car was repairable, it was not totaled, it just needed a couple of parts replaced. Maybe Rick's has changed for the better since then. But probably not. Well, needless to say, Rick's will not be considered if I ever need a body shop again. read more

My particular repair was on what they call a "body line," and admittedly I was concerned that nobody would/could return my tailgate to the factory specs, but I must write that not only did Rick's Paint & Body do just this, my vehicle was ready five days before the agreed upon due date. And as a man with an eye for detail I just write that I was impressed with their attention to detail. First, technically, this was in July 2021. I have a Lexus.RC F with the V8 naturally aspirated engine, a collector's item. Just over a month in, someone decided to attempt to rip the bumper off to steal the headlights. Rick's was listed as a preferred Lexus body shop. First even though they knew I was from out of town because Greenville didn't have an approved body shop, the car wasn't done when I was told it would be, so they were going to finish it and would be a couple hours. So now I'm waiting around and they get me a car because I already had given my insurance covered rental back. The car was in valet mode which means the car warned me someone drove my car over 35, them 55, then 75, then over 85 mph while eating lunch and waiting on them to finish my car. So when I went to pick it up, we walked around the front bumper and the guy tried to get me to sign off straight away. Instead because of the warnings, I walked around the car. They had damaged my now two month old car on the driver's side fender. They had to fix it. When they got done with that repair, it was great and raining out, so it looked like they had repaired the paint damage they caused joyriding in my car. Until the sun came out a couple days later. The buff and polish to the paint damage they caused looks like shit. There's swirls in it and I called and left messages to call me back. No one called me back ever. I got to the point that I accepted they were not calling me back. I was pissed but then thought I didn't wasn't these aholes joyriding in my car again and possibly damaging my engine that wasn't completely broken in. So now I just "live" with the swirls and get irritated everytime light his them to expose what this place did to my hand new cat. read more

I've had a couple of experiences with body shops with my previous car, but l must admit my experience with Rick's is by far the best. Nicole, Christine, & Trevor kept me informed about the status of my Cadillac ATS. I signed the release form on Monday and my car was ready by Friday (with a 100% guarantee on the parts and the work). They ensured my questions were answered promptly. I was two hours away from the shop (it cost too much to get my girl towed to a local shop) and was not able to get to Rick's until right before closing. Of course I ended up arriving little later than expected (about 10min) listening to my wack a$s gps, but alas Nicole, Christine, and the rest of the staff kept the office open for me. I appreciate them for that and they did marvelous work on my car. I'm so glad I decided to bypass my insurance company's preferred body shops and choose Rick's. I would definitely recommend them. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. I brought my car here because when I purchased it the dealer agreed to pay to have several minor defects fixed. The very first time I took my car in for an appraisal, the guy Murphy, basically told me the whole car had to get repainted, he did a "very thorough" appraisal because it was over $8,000 in repairs (that in all honesty did NOT need, nor did I care for). the dealer's insurance of course only agreed to pay for what I had claimed. And I was ok with that. I made the appointment for the car to get the repairs and they notified me it would be 6-7 days... I rented a car for 8 days. (Sure, the insurance says they'll reimburse, but in the meantime it comes out of my pocket). On the 5th day, I called and was told that some parts were delayed (which i don't really understand since they had a whole month from the time i called to make an appointment till the day of. I called again on the 7th day and was told that the windshield had been ordered but not received, which was NOT part of the claim since the insurance had already paid Safelight to repair it. I notified them of this, the person i spoke to, Kevin, told me it was most likely the car would be done by the end of the week, which meant I would have to extend and pay more upfront on the rental. On the 10th (today) day I called again in the morning, and spoke to the same guy, Kevin. He told me that most likely this afternoon my car would be ready and that i would receive a phone call. At 3:15pm I decided to call again to see if it indeed would be ready since I had to work at 6:00 pm. I was told by a lady that the car was still in "repaint" which completely threw me for a loop since I had been told something completely different in the va morning. I made a fuss because apparently no one in there knows what the heck is going on, and I'm getting information that doesn't match constantly. She told me Kevin would call me back, and when he did, he told me to disregard what I had been told and that they were washing my car. I mentioned having to work at 6:00pm and he told me to be there by 5:00pm. Between having to go return the rental and waiting on an Uber to get me to the body shop I was able to get there at 5:28pm (I however called Kevin at 5:08pm and notified him of the delay waiting for an Uber but that I was on my way). When i got there, my car was not upfront yet. It took an additional 20 minutes to get my car to me. Yes, it was washed, still wet actually... i would have thought that it would be dry already since I was told it was being washed at 3:45! When I opened the car and started checking... NOTHING of the minor issues that were asked to fix were fixed. Let me be honest, only 1 thing was fixed. The plastic piece next to the driver's seat that holds the scoot front and back button (i don't know what it is called) but that's it! The scratches the car had all over that were supposed to get fixed... still there, the back panel of the back seat that was loose and needed clips, still loose. The roof rail still scratched up, everything we noted to get fixed... nothing was... so what exactly did they do with the car for 10 days?! And the Murphy guy had the AUDACITY to say, "we have cars that have been here since August!" Come to think about it, It doesn't surprise me, they can care less about the work, they're only there to collect money and not even follow through on the work. At the last minute, I switched from another excellent body shop in Augusta to Rick's because of their reviews and advertisement. I have never experienced the level of lack of professionalism and lack of skill in my life. The customer service was terrible because I had to personally call for weeks to get updates because they refused to call me.  They kept my car over six weeks for two small dents and when they finally called for me to pick it up, they tried to get me to come after dark because the new paint did not match the existing paint (no blending performed on the bumper).  The car had to again go back into the shop for another week to fix the mismatched colors. There was also a tremendous amount of paint dust and smell inside the car and in the motor compartment. I went to Ricks because of their ratings and the radio/TV advertisement (Lexus certified) which turned out for me to be a huge disappointment and I should have kept to my original plan to use another well known body shop in the area. Hopefully this review will give the owners a better understanding of the lack of customer service, quality control, and properly maintaining the customers equipment while being serviced at their shop. read more

A few weeks ago, my husband attempted to post a review about our experience here, and for some reason it's not showing up (along with a slew of other 5 star reviews that this auto body shop has earned!!). So this is take 2. That's how passionate I am about the kind of work this place did for me. The other month, I got into a car accident at the corner of Washington Road and Bobby Jones Expressway. I was driving through the traffic light (which was green), and a Tahoe turning from Bobby Jones pulled out and crashed right into me. No one was hurt, but it was a huge pain, as pretty much all accidents are. I pulled my Honda Accord over so we could assess damage and contact police. My car wasn't drivable, so I told the cops that I wanted to have the car towed to Rick's Paint and Body (which was literally just a couple of blocks away). I was relieved and surprised at how quickly the tow truck got there. I went over to Rick's to get set up in a rental car. I had my fingers crossed that I would get a vehicle that was comparable to my own, and it ended up being nicer than my own car (a new Passat). The next week they called when everything was done, and I took the rental car back to Rick's, and there was my car, repair work looked amazing, and they had even cleaned out the inside of the vehicle for me. Every single person I came across or dealt with at Ricks Paint & Body was friendly, had a smile on his or her face, and all seemed to be going out of their way to make sure that I had a great experience. Dated: April 12, 2012 I went to Rick's Paint & Body Shop because it had good reviews form Google so I decided to check it out. The staff was very courteous and helpful. Problems started once an agent came to look at my car to do a quote. I have a Toyota MR2 MKII and I was looking at just getting body work done, no paint job. There was body damage from the previous owner that required the following. - Reconstruction of the front trunk well around the front left headlight, previously pounded out by owner but it just doesn't sit well with me. Sheet metal, welding, some sanding and it'd be done. - Damage in the driver door well. All that needed to be done was sand down, fill with bondo, sand and prime for future painting. - Rear fender needed to be pounded out, bondo, sanded and primered. The rear tail didn't sit well and the trunk doesn't completely close. It closes, just not snugly. The agent only glanced at the damages after showing him the problem spots and said no thank you. To add insult to injury he said the car was a wreck when all but the previously mentioned areas were in good condition for a 20 year old car except the rattle can job done. He did not even consult with any of their body specialists to see if it could be done. It makes me question the skill set of their body specialists. Customer Service: 1-2 out of 5 Workmanship: N/A Availability: N/A Price: N/A Overall: 1 out of 5 For newer cars they may do a good job, but if they cannot do simple restore bodywork I do not recommend bringing a car manufactured before 2000. read more

Last week my Ford Explorer XLT was brought in for a repair. I was called on Friday to pick it up early. However, when I arrived at my home, I realized that the inside of the vehicle was covered with a thick white powder, from the rear of the vehicle to the front. Every crevice, every cup holder, every vent and under the seats, the inside of the vehicle was absolutely filthy. It looked like my vehicle was sitting for months in a junkyard and was given to me to take home. I could not take the car back because the battery was dead, I guess they left the doors opened and drained the battery as well. I spent four hours on Saturday cleaning the inside of the vehicle. Not something I was planning to do for a Father's Day weekend. I took photos and I will be sending these to State Farm. Whatever charges they added for Quality Control will be disputed and should be removed. Truly and embarrassment for Rick's Paint and Body, finishing Quality Control inspection process. read more

This is the worst paint & body shop in Augusta. I had a job done earlier this year (February) and I'm still waiting on an accessory that was supposed to be ordered a long time ago. Every time I call or stop by, I get a different excused. First they get my name/number and tell me I should get a phone call as soon as the accessory is delivered (that happened at least 3 times). I get tired of waiting so I call back (a month later) just to make them realized they can't even find my file in their system and say I need to have the technician's name for them to locate it. I had to go there personally for them to finally find my file (which apparently couldn't be done over the phone, even though I provided the exact same info). These people are very unprofessional and don't care for their customers. If I could only give them ZERO stars! Please go to Kendrick's or somewhere else. I have been to Kendrick's twice and had no issue. read more

When I first walked in everyone was so accommodating and attentive. Before I start I want to say the front receptionist was the most pleasant person in this whole ordeal. She always had a smile when I walked in always was so nice. As for the rest of the staff, awful. I got my car back after a week. The day of ,they were keeping me updated and it was ready to go by the end of that day. I go to get my car and looked and thought everything was great. As soon as I got back home I realized that was not true. The work was so extremely sloppy. I was hit towards my lower front bumper, they gave me my car back with marks that weren't even from my wreck. The gloss of my paint was literally dripping and there was a chunk of paint missing by the headlight. I'm extremely upset so I bring my car back the next day after no one even bothered to call me back all day when I left a voicemail with their assistant. One of the estimators walks out after I say there's a problem with my car and he looks like he doesn't believe me at first. Gets his pen and scratches it on the chipped part of my vehicle and then says he will go talk to the manager. The manager was very understanding and said it would take a couple of hours to fix my vehicle and says he can get me a rental and everything is set to go for that Monday. I was upset but I felt like it would be fine after that. This was not the case. I dropped my car off on Monday at 3 which I understand if they couldn't get to it but did not get any updates on Tuesday so I had to call myself. I was told that they had to wait for a new bumper and my car was taken apart and it would be ready by Wednesday. Long story short I then call late in the evening on Wednesday because no one has reached out to me and I am told my car is being cleaned up but I will definitely get it before the end of the day. They close at 6 and it is now 5:10 and not one word so I call AGAIN and whoever answers doesn't have a clue about me or my vehicle so at this point I am beyond frustrated because I was told it would only take a couple of hours for their sloppy work from the first time around and then no one bothers to call me to tell me I can come get my vehicle. I inspect my vehicle when I finally get it home and of course , still sloppy work. The last 5 pictures are from their second sloppy work the first 3 are from their first sloppy work. As you can tell clearly they did not get me a new bumper like they lied , they painted or glued or whatever they did over their mistake. I then go to inspect the rest of my vehicle which I also forgot before I dropped my car of this second time I took a video of the whole inside of my car to all the way on the outside Incase they damaged my vehicle . I go to look into my backseat. It looked like someone was finger painting with white paint. I have a clear as day video of my vehicles backseat before I dropped it off with zero white whatever they got all over my seats. They didn't even have any business being in my backseat. This place is completely not worth the time. You will be extremely disappointed unless you take your vehicle back to get fixed over 4 or 5 times until they finally can get it right. I will never ever use this business ever again and I should have just waited on the waitlist for Cushmans. You have been warned if you value your vehicle as I do mine do NOT go here. UPDATE : It is 9/16/21 (the morning after all of this) I have now realized they have scratched 3 out of the four of my rims. Busted the underside part of my hazard light. AND NEVER PUT MY LANDSEAAIR GPS TRACKER MY VEHICLE CAME WITH BACK INTO MY CAR. I am now scheduling an appointment to my dealership to have it reinstalled and to check my vehicle for any other major damages. Ricks, my father is an attorney so be prepared for a lawsuit. read more

Rick's has helped me out with paint and body work twice this year and I am more than pleased with the results! I had damage from a hit and run and from road debris, but each time my car came out looking like new! I paid my deductible and my insurance took care of the rest. My husband took his car here after an accident, at the recommendation of the towing company. Worst decision we ever made. His car sat there for 3 weeks before they STARTED working on it, after they had told him repeatedly that they were working on it, waiting on parts, etc. No parts had been ordered, and the car hadn't been touched, for 3 weeks. Finally when it was fixed, we got it back and the paint job didn't match at all. After the first hard rain, while riding in the car we hit the brakes and heard water rushing in to the BACK SEAT. Completely flooded the back floorboard with water. When he took it back, they supposedly fixed the issue but didn't bother to vacuum out the water or clean up the floorboard. My husband had to do it himself. After another hard rain, we had the same issue. Took it back again to get fixed, got the car back, and it was overrun with ants. They had parked it in the grass over an anthill and ants were everywhere. Safe to say my husband's car is ruined. ANY place in Augusta would be better than this place. read more

These guys were a complete and utter clown show when it came to fixing my car. They lost track of my car, told me to come in to pick it up when it was still in pieces, didn't even know it was being repaired under an insurance claim and literally nothing they ever told me was accurate. During the hours I spent in their waiting area I heard almost nothing but their people arguing with people who's cars they had previously "repaired". These guys are shady as hell I was just glad to get my car out of there with nothing being stolen, although someone did go through the interior of my car even though the repair to my car was minor and exterior. I guess they were on a treasure hunt. I'm glad I can't take a handgun to where I work cause it probably would have been stolen-even my tools from my old job in a steel mill in the hatch- double plastic bagged because they are so greasy -had been uncovered out of the bags. I am new to this town so didn't know better. Just stay away. read more

The office staff is very friendly and helpful. I was not very happy with the body work and decal placement that they did originally but they made things right for free on a second visit. The price was a little high at first, but they were willing to negotiate and come down a little bit, at least beating their local competitors. read more

I brought my brand new 2016 Mazda here after I hit a deer. I looked at several body shops in the area and I decided on Ricks. I dropped my car off on a Monday morning and everyone was so helpful and got me in and out quickly. They even had a rental car waiting on me. I knew by the next day my estimate and when my car was due to be done. It took a little over a week for my car to be fixed and anytime I called to check on the progress I was quickly connected to someone who knew exactly where my car was in the repair process.
