We came in Sunday after church for a great dining experience but that wasn't the case. I've had great experiences in the past but this one did not stand up to previous ones. The service was still great but the food just didn't have the taste or flavor. We started with the spinach and queso dip. The chips were very salt and stale. The dip was cold and very runny. The pork chop, that took the place of the pork tenderloin, needs to be reversed back. The meat had no flavor of it being grilled, the meat was tough even after we ordered it medium temperature. The chicken was the only thing that tasted like it did before. The prime rib was just plain but the cooking temperature was good. Spending almost $200, you want to get what you pay for!! read more

It's been quite some time since I've been to this location and it was still great! Wait staff was efficient and worked as a team. The FOH manager even assisted the staff. I had the French Dip a the meat just melted in my mouth as it was so tender. The baguette as warm and soft. Cole Slaw was very good. Carrot cake dessert was unlike any I've ever had and was a great compliment to end my meal. The atmosphere was warm and intimate. The glass dividers between booths offered quiet and privacy. We were staying at the Marriott in Ross Bridge and decided to try this restaurant. My husband and I split the Caesar salad which was wonderful and the split was huge. He had a steak and said it was great and I had the potato soup which was good as well. Jesse, our server, was awesome! She was friendly and attentive and gave great recommendations! Came here to celebrate my dad's birthday. We were a party of 8 and the table that they seated us at was so small. I mean I guess that is where they sit their larger parties but it was a no for me. Our waitress was super sweet and an attentive to everyone's orders. However, I personally feel like the overall meals were just OK.. the queso was really watery, the prime rib sandwich just cannot be cooked too, the guest liking after being taken back twice. Apparently the crabcakes were great. However, the roasted chicken was a bit on the dry side. I personally ordered the steak skewer and I have to say it was pretty good. No complaints on my entrée. My dad and his wife said they used to come here quite often and it's just not the same so I'm basing my review off of their opinions hopefully things will change. read more

After sightseeing in Birmingham, Al. we needed good food fast before the crowds. My daughter's fiancé said he had a place that I would really like-Redlands Grill! He was right! When I walked inside, I was a little apprehensive because it was a flux of people waiting, but we were seated in less than 20 minutes. Our great tasting food was serve rather promptly. Dinner today was a birthday celebration for my coworker.there were 11 of us and they chose to sit us in the round booths by the bar which I didn't think was a good idea because we had to sit at seperate tables and 2 sat at the bar. But we all enjoyed ourselves. I ordered the Surf 'n Turf medium rare with the loaded baked potatoe, which was one of the daily specials. The filet was cooked perfect. The steak was well seasoned and very tender. The lobster tail was also seasoned well and came with a side of butter. The loaded baked potato came out steaming hot with the right amount of butter, sourcream, cheese and bacon bits. To wash it all down I chose a Shirley Temple. This meal is definitely at the top of the best meals I've had here. read more

This was our first time at the restaurant in Hoover, Alabama (we'd been to the restaurant in Memphis). Everything you see in these pictures was fan-tastic! The turkey burger was perfect, as was the red cabbage ( our waiter has been convinced to try it) and I don't eat chocolate cake too much, and this is the reason why. It was warmed to perfection. Carrot cake is truly all I will ever need here. It's warm, it's moist, it's spiced well... just YUMMMM. The cajun trout was on special and was absolutely delicious. The entire dinning experience was amazing; from the host, to the wait staff, to the food. I got the steak maui with mashed potatoes and a Caesar salad. The steak had a great match of sweet and savory with a wood fired taste. The potato's were creamy but with little chunks of potatoes that I thought went well with the natural gravy of the steak. The Caesar salad dressing and croutons you can tell were made in house, and the entire salad was tossed with just the right amount of dressing! We started the evening with drinks. My friend ordered a gin and tonic. It arrived without a lime. Manager came by and corrected that. While there, she suggested a red wine that was delicious. Food: starters were grilled asparagus and Cesar salad. The asparagus were a huge disappointment. While I was still trying to eat them, our entrees arrived. So now we have a table full of food. Do we finish the starters and let our entrees cool or sacrifice the starters? We went for the entrees. The grilled halibut, pork chop, and steak were all generous portions and delicious. Food was good but the service was lacking. Saturday night dining should be a leisurely meal. This group needs to up their game to accomplish that. read more

Ate here last week found a sharpe object in my food ( the eggrolls ) and everyone acted like it wasn't a big deal but I found it when I was chewing my food and bit down on it and spit it out! The manager came over and explain that the foreign object was maybe in the Erggroll mix and came from the container that it was in and then offered me another order of eggrolls from that SAME mix!! I don't know if she had a brain fart but that literally makes no sense. At the end I was given one free lemonade refill for my troubles! I definitely won't be ever eating here again. read more

This is such a gem located by the riverchase galleria. It is a large restaurant yet has a cozy feel to it. The bar area is very classy. Tonight we sat in the bar area in a booth. Our server was Nathan and he was very attentive. We got the spinach con queso as an appetizer and it was delicious. Very creamy and tasty. The sourdough bread and butter was great as well. I ordered the old fashioned cheese burger well done. It comes with shoe string French fries. The burger is huge and comes cut in half. I only could eat half. I hadn't been here in years but will definitely be back soon. read more

It comes with great disappointment that I feel the need to update my review, yet again, and in the process lower my ranking again. It continues to baffle me that a place that is classified as a steak house doesn't have the ability to cook to order a steak. This is now two consecutive visits that I ordered the filet and it's the second time I ordered it with a heat level of medium. It's the second time that my order came out ultra rare. This is unacceptable! The last time I did this I sent my order back 3 times and they were never able to get it right. Wasn't worth it this time, cut around the raw section and ate what I could and called it a day. Kind of sad when a place like McDonalds has a better hit rate for getting orders right over a specialty place such as Redlands. I guess I really only have myself to blame for this one, I went back. I also ordered the same thing again .... granted they said they could cook it right, but they told me that last time as well. Not impressed!!! read more
