There is no mystery here on why Izabella's has a steady 5-star rating. I am a gel-freak, it all began visiting a girlfriend in LA a few summers ago, and getting a great no-chip manicure. Unfortunately all I found here in Chicago were inconsistent nail spots who have 0 personal appeal! The ladies at Izabella's are uniquely conscientious and complete sweethearts. The women doing my nails was very nice but she did a terrible jobs on my french manicure. She kept messing up on one of my nails and had to redo it 4 times. My nails also started to chip and crack after only 1 day of having them. Do not recommend. read more

this is a little gem i would not have found if it weren't for yelp. first of all bring cash! secondly, manicure/pedicure lasted forever. the girls are super friendly and this is a cheap, and relaxing cute QUIET little spot. there are lots of regulars in this place but they love new people. make sure to call ahead though and see if they're doing the mani/pedi special :) read more

I had Monika do a gel fill (this is different from no chip) and it was great. the service is great. She confirms the cut,color etc. She is very friendly and the overall atmosphere is great. I've been going to Marta for a few months now and she's amazing!! I want fake nails that look real since mine don't grow and peel/break immediately. Meh...my experience was so disappointing!!! I was excited to go here after all of the great reviews. I went three days before going on vacation. When I left the salon my toes looked AWESOME. But the very first day my big toe nail had chipped. And the store wasn't open for me to go back to fix it. I decided to forget it and move on. However, less than a week had passed when three of my other toes had chipped. I don't pay for a pedi I could have done myself. Not sure if I will give this place another chance...not happy. Also, I would advise an appointment as they seem really busy...and they don't accept cards. read more

I had to see what all the fuss was about. I got a gel/no-chip manicure. I had it done a week ago and it still looks as good and as natural as when they first did it. My feet hadn't seen the light of day all winter and the ladies were so courteous and kind when they did my pedicure simultaneous to my manicure to save time. Just left my new favorite nail place in the city. Basia did an amazing job with my nails. Removed the old gel and applied new gel overlay. I wasn't sure about the polish color so she applied different ones onto all my nails (1 color per nail) and helped me pick. Super sweet & gentle & quick! Love her! Will def be back!! read more

I recently moved to Chicago and have been in desperate need of a nail salon. Luckily I found Silvia at Izabella's (the new South Loop location). I've never had a nail tech who cared so much to educate me about my nails and take such amazing care of me! She definitely knows her stuff and when it comes to gel nails, she is a God-send, the shape is perfection! She took extra time to explain each step and why she was using a particular technique. Even better was she was able to give me tips and tricks to keep my nails healthy and growing strong! Last but not certainly not least, she is super spunky and so fun to talk to!!! I came across Izabella's while searching the Internet for a good nail salon in the Lincoln Park area. After reading reviews on the salon, I decided to give it a try. Best decision I ever made, in terms of treating myself to manis and pedis, : ). FYI - I am extremely picky and have always been one to re-file/shape my nails after appointments, but that has not been the case since I started going to Izabella's. I have been going there for the last 6 months and have not had one bad experience! I HIGHLY recommend it. The entire staff at Izabella's is welcoming and makes sure to get to know you personally. They also make a point to cater to your exact nail preferences. I see Sylwia for my nails, and she does a phenomenal job! Between appointments, Sylwia even brainstorms new nail designs for me! This is the only nail place I've found in Chicago that does hard gel right! The women take their time and are meticulous about getting everything perfect. I couldn't believe that this place consistently had a 5-star rating... However, after visiting for my first time, I could easily see why it was so highly rated. I started going to Izabella's when I moved to the area and wanted to start getting my nails done regularly. Since I work with my hands a lot, I don't like to spend money on a manicure that will just chip off the next day, so no-chip/gels/shellac really appeals to me. Izabella's pricing is extremely reasonable, and all of the girls that work there are funny and friendly. The salon is super clean and they have a large selection of no-chip colors to choose from. I am very particular about how my nails are shaped and painted, and both Basia (sp?) and Marta nailed it (no pun intended). They were so careful and meticulous with each nail, and even sat with me and painted each nail a different color to see which shade I wanted to go with. I always look forward to my appointments. I have been going to Izabella's for about four months every two weeks and I love it. I went because I saw on yelp that they did real gel nails. I made an appointment and Basha (sp?) did my nails. I am a nail bitter and my nails were a mess. Unless I have gel (or acrylic) I bite them down to a nub. She treated me great even though I new it my nails were hard. Four months later and I love this place. I feel like I know her and Marta well and look forward to going. They really take their time and make sure your nails are done right. I have had gel nails before but they do the best job ever. My nails are now grown out and beautiful. I am writing this because today I had Marta do my fill for the first time. She did a wonderful job on my mom's pedi when she was in town but I had never had her work on me. She did a fantastic job so I can honestly say that both Basha and Marta do fantastic work. They really take their time. I know I said this but it is very important to know that they really really care about doing the best job. Both are very nice and really remember you. They feel like friends. It is a small place so it kinda feels like a family. You can tell they genuinely love what they do. I am so happy that I found this place. If you can get an appointment do it. I have been coming here ever since I moved to Chicago (1998). I used to live right around the corner but have since moved a few times and will always keep coming back no matter how far away I move. I'm so addicted to coming here that I will even try and schedule my vacations so I don't have to miss a nail appointment (I have acrylic nails and no one else is as good as Izabella's). As far as the pedicures - there is no where else in own that is as good as these ladies. If you haven't tried Izabella's yet I'm not sure what you're waiting for. I 100% recommend!! read more

I have gone here many times and love it. I have always gotten a mani/pedi and think that they do a great job! It is a very laid back, clean place and they spend a lot of time on your nails. I am pretty sure they have a special Monday - Thursday - Mani/pedi $35. Call first to make sure it is still going on. Even full price they are very reasonable. read more

I came here after a bad "gel" set of nails came off. The place is small and cozy and had a regular customer base which I liked to see. The nail technician was meticulous at handling my nails and actually used gel for my nails!! I was there a total of 2 hours because I got a full set and she even took time to show me different designs if I wanted on my nails. I never felt rushed or uneasy my whole time there. Got a regular mani here for the first time, and it was awesome. Cost a few dollars more than the usual places I go, but it was 100% worth it. My mani looked perfect and chip-free for over a week. I've been going to Izabela's for 3 years and cannot say enough goods things about this salon. All of the nail technicians do an impeccable job and are perfectionists. They are always friendly and make an effort to get to know their clients. I get no chip manicures every 2 weeks and occasionally a pedicure with Basia and she is outstanding. My only complaint is they are cash only and it would be more convenient to use a credit card, but it is a hassle worth dealing with. read more

I've been wanting to try out Izabella's for a few months and was lucky enough to get in last Friday. Izabella did my nails and did a spectacular job. I wanted liquid gel nails and my last salon lied and said that the powder that she was putting on was actually gel. Nope, not the truth! Izabella slowly and carefully removed the old acrylic nails with a nail file and dipping my nails in a liquid to soften. She then painstakingly painted 3 coats of the liquid gel on my nails (with drying under the lights between each layer) i then had no chip french and a light final color applied on top. Perfection! My nails are absolutely gorgeous. The gel looks so much more natural than acrylic. The girls in the salon are all a lot of fun and very friendly. It took two hours to complete but so worth it. I have already made my next fill in appt for 3 weeks because I know how packed they get on Saturdays. I would highly recommend this salon to anyone. Honest and oh so nice.
