My husband and I came from out of town to visit family, and I have to admit I was very hesitant to eat here because of the negative Yelp reviews. We almost chose another restaurant, but I'm so glad we decided to give this place a chance. From the moment we sat down, our waitress, Celeste, completely changed our expectations. She made us feel genuinely welcome and right at home. She was friendly, attentive, and checked on us throughout our meal without ever being overbearing. She also took the time to recommend some of the menu items and drinks, and every recommendation was absolutely delicious. The food, service, and overall experience exceeded our expectations. It just goes to show that reviews don't always tell the whole story. We're so happy we gave this restaurant a chance. This will definitely be our go-to spot whenever my family and I are in town. I didn't order any food however I got a virgin espresso martini which was delicious! I love coffee, so this is the best drink for coffee drinkers! Five stars primarily due to our fantastic server, Eric! Came here for brunch to celebrate a friends birthday and was provided very friendly and upbeat service. For brunch, there were tables set up for dining along with a dance floor and a DJ playing a variety of music. By 3pm the dance floor was fully occupied which created a lively atmosphere. I am on a health journey. And on rest days, I am still suppose to move to make them active rest days so I go out to dance finding a Zumba movement in clubs. A co-worker recommended this joint and I went to see, so I could experience it and then be able to see what he was talking about not, just not hear about it. Not quite trust but verify, but hear and experience. I went in around 10 and the club was mildly crowded but still crowded enough for the dance floor to be alive. It was a toddler dancing to the Macarena not yet a dance breaker in full backspin. I danced alone. Movement was the mission. This girl with a sash ( she was the birthday girl, or a bride to be, or a pageant winner, the less likely option) started to dance feet away from me. She started to mirror my movements. She started to mirror my music induced convulsions. I got shy. I was seen. I closed my eyes to feel the song on my skin, through out my blood and cells so my thoughts could be silenced and when I opened them I continued to see her mirror my moves. She was vibing with me. The joint had spirit that connected us both. Or maybe the girl just was down to have a good time, when she saw another down for the same. Eventually the dance floor did become a vibrant pulse--- it was a crowd full of revelers, dancing, swaying, searching, in a phrase the dance floor had become a singular movement of pump and purpose. I was now less seen. I turned to the wonder of the place and saw some bounces (staff) dancing, but not really. They were mimicking movement of dance but in a humorous way. The spirit of the joint had made some workers dance with glee. I wish I could dance at work, with glee. But I have an office job. If I tap my pen too harshly with enthusiasm, I become too loud. It made me envious for a second. I was positively jealous with green, then red, then yellow, then white. The place has bustling lights as well. I did not drink on this night, not because I took an oath, but because I had pre-gamed earlier at another local bar. I did not try the drinks but I definitely want too, next time I go. I just happened to be my own driver that night, and you know, I cant be on the road while even tipsy cause then I would be doing something wrong, not only for myself but for others. And I try to avoid that, when I can. What I appreciated a lot about this place, is that it had tables that were usually there for eating. So when I was tired, and needed a sit, I could easily find one. I was part of the crowd and the music, in the thick of it, at times, while others I was a viewer of the movement. I was able to be the Ying and Yang of the club, by way of space. This place is a small club but is mighty in punch and bounce. Go here, especially, if you are looking for more than just movement. AWFUL! Went here for a private ticketed event. Seems like everyone is having a problem with a particular waitress and we have had the very unfortunate experience of having her as well. She was very cold and ignored us for the rest of the night after checking in only once. On top of that she said no free water only 5 dollars bottled water. (Food establishments in CA are required by code to provide free water to patrons btw) Went to the bar, bartender gave me free cups of water. Some other waiter snatched them off our table very quickly before we were even done. Went back to the bar, different bartender and he also tried to charge for bottled. Even after I told him I had just got cups and also there were at least 3 people standing near the bar that had the same cups. It seems like every person there is pulling prices out their ass, I mean 20 dollars for a single vodka cran? Food is also over priced. On top of that they had a bunch of security that did nothing but drink and play on their phones. Many people got rowdy including one man who was harassing not only the crowd but got into the guitarists face at one point before jumping on stage and falling, nearing hitting the frontman before being asked to leave. Horrible service!! Jenny was very rude and unprofessional she kept "reminding us" we had to spend 20 dollars worth of food per person even though I had asked for water multiple times. We were waiting for the Mexico game to start even though it got delayed. We still ordered drink and sangrias in the mean time but she informed us we aren't "spending money" so she hasn't came to check on us. When I spoke to the manger and informed him about what happened and told him no one is ordering because the game was delayed he said "it is about money" I told informed him no one is ordering(including the table who knows him) he said he would address it with her "just not now because it's busy." The server the' came to us and asked us "what did you order." We proceeded to tell her we don't need anything thank you. She responded "okay want me to close you out." Absolutely terrible service. Walked into today to watch the Mexico world cup game. The host who sat me was respectful and nice when seating. Once our server arrived it was the total opposite. She was very rude and standoffish with my group. We've been waiting for the game to start and we've ordered drinks and 2 food items in the meantime until the game starts but the server approached us more than once claiming we must spend at least 20$ per person for food items, not just drinks. I understand if this is a policy but not once were we made aware of this before getting seated. We just said yes we understand. As time goes on she keeps approaching us in a rude tone telling us we need to spend those 20$ per person again. My group found this very rude, again we planned to spend this amount of money but to again be told in a condescending way that we need to order we found it outrageous. She then did not come back to check on us for around 30 minutes. When we then brought this up to her she said "well you guys aren't ordering enough" and she walked away. We got ahold of the owner and he said word for word, "I'll address this but not right now". How do you expect guests to feel welcome here when this stuff occurs. Very unprofessional. I'm surprised this spot has such a low rating! I've been here a few times for food and for a night of dancing. I ordered the empanadas and I really enjoyed them, the flavor and sauce topping was tasty. Next time I would order them again. The night life here is fun, although there is a cover charge. My friend was getting harassed and got threatened by a guy at the bar, and I went to tell security, and he told me that there wasn't anything he could do about the guy. And the security guard made up a lie that my friend was dancing with the guy who was harassing her but she wasn't! She was dancing with our group and he got behind her and she immediately stopped dancing to come toward me as I was at the bar, and he followed her. And that's when he harassed her for her number and when she said no he threatened her. The security guard was Caucasian, heavy set and I believe he had a beard but I can't remember. Seeing the reviews of this place and what we experienced, I would not recommend this place to any woman. The security here DO NOT care about your safety. read more
