One day, we were feelin' some Dim Sum and ultimately decided to order in while eating and relaxing in our living room. We ordered a little bit of everything on the menu. We purchased the following: Crab Sticks, Xiao Long Bao, Siu Mai, Fried Fish Filet, Steamed Shrimp Wonton, Pan Fried Chicken Dumpling, Baked Sausage Bun, House Bento Rice Box, and Sesame Ball. The crab sticks were so good in addition to the other items. The bao was a juicy pork dumpling that came with cabbage, ginger, garlic, and scallion. The siu mai came with steamed pork, shrimp, mushroom, and egg wrap while the pan fried dumplings had chicken, cabbage, and mushroom. The sesame ball is always good and contains red bean or lotus seeds paste filling. All in all, it was like a mini buffet that we had at home since everything came separately in their own boxes. I believe by the end of the meal, only a couple pieces were left over and even then, they were devoured later that day. It was truly an amazing feast! read more

I've been going here ever since they first opened and ixlb never disappoints. A mostly take out-based restaurant (there's a few tables but it's pretty small inside), you can either order at the counter or use tablets that have pictures of the various dishes. Everything I've gotten here is good and they have all the dim sum staples. There's a parking lot in the back although finding a spot can be hit or miss. I'm from NY so I needed to see if my one true love, the great pineapple custard bun, is any different in LA than the ones I'm used to in Chinatown in Manhattan! It surely is just as yummy! Alright. This place smacks. Walked in and was greeted by the nicest man, not sure if he owns it, or what the vibe was, but his kindness was a nice touch. Went there for a snack while in LA on vacation. When you walk in we ordered from the kiosk on the right side of the store. We Ordered the soup dumpling, bbq pork steam bun, shu mai, shrimp dumpling, and pickled cucumber. Pickled cucumber was really flavorful, the bbq steam bun is pretty good and flavorful too. It's not super sweet like many other places who makes them. The soup dumpling was hot and the broth inside the dumpling very good. Service was quick- I ordered through grub hub and it was ready when I arrived. Store is small but there's stool seating inside and a few small tables. They have kiosks inside you can order from which is useful. There's not a lot of parking so be aware of that. Food was okay- for the price I don't think I'll be coming again. This is a review for my first visit at ixlb DimSum Eats. I am currently trying out new dim sum spots closer to Mid-City. I have passed by this location in the past. Look for the huge mural of a smiling dumpling by LA street artist Chase. Very easy to find but unfortunately, parking is still hard to find, even during the pandemic. I placed my order through an app but if you prefer to order there, they have a checkout wall with iPads set up, to ensure a contactless transaction. I ordered the following: Steamed shrimp wontons: You can also order pan-fried, which I will certainly do next time. This came with chili oil. These are flavorful! Very delicious on it's own. Har gao: Shrimp dumplings, casing is not too thick and there is a generous amount of filling. Sesame seed balls: One of my favorites, this is the first time i had some with black sesame. These dessert deep fried mochi balls must be eaten shortly after ordering them. Crispy on the outside and chew on the inside. Shui Mai: These are huge! Another delicious classic dish. Overall, it was an impressive first time experience and I look forward in checking them out again. Again, parking may be an issue but there are street parking and a small parking lot in the back. Really great and quick place to get a bite! the portions are normal for take out dimsum but might be small to you if you compare to something like din tai fung. but the prices are 5-7$ a plate so its very affordable. We each got $18-$22 dollars worth of food and we were full with leftovers. xlb: good, does the job, a tad dry and would not order again in lieu of other dishes we liked better siu mai: my friend got the chicken and said it was really good. good skin and the chicken had a good amount of ginger chicken over rice; ginger soy sauce marinade. chicken is moist and good. not enough chicken to make this dish feel enough for a meal on its own, but good supplement esp at $6! i heard their noodles are also good. shrimp dumpling w chili oil: my personal favorite! it has a good kick to it and its very filled with shrimp! veggie bao: could have had a bit more filling (friends opinion) but i liked it, bao itself was delicious. smiling pork bun: great w a good crunch of veggies and sauce. my friend said there was a sweet sauce she didnt love but still good and finished it. i would say definitely try this, and if you dont like sweet and salty ask for sauce on the side. I understand they want to make sure nothing spills and packaging is done well but the amount of plastic they use is a bit too much... I think they can reduce it. Stopped by this place on a whim but noticed good reviews. Parking is not easy. It's a small restaurant with adequate bar seating which makes for some good people watching. They even have kid seating! You can order at several kiosks or counter. There is one restroom that's pretty clean. We ordered a variety of dim sum. For me, the stand outs were the soup dumplings and chicken shu mai, and the cucumber salad. The rest of the food was not bad but not great. Overall still a good spot and quick service! read more

Char Siu Bao () - I love the portion for this dish, char siu bao normally is too heavy and sweet for me but the ratio between the meat and the bao is just right here Har gow () - good quality shrimp Egg tart (5/5) - the pastry is light and flaky, the custard is creamy and not too sweet. highly recommmend! Xiao long bao / soup dumplings () - can be better, the wrapping isn't that soft Fried Shrimp balls (4/5) - deep fried and flavoured to perfection, i love this one! Shrimp wontons (5/5) - This is by far my favourite, the shrimp in the wontons are tender and the sauce is just the perfect, right amount of spice Veggie () - tender and a perfect complement to the heavier dimsums Overall, it's a good DimSum meal but there are much seatings. They don't have options for tea... which I kinda wish they had. Tea is a must for me when I have heavy Dimsum meal. I think this place is best for a To- go order. If you want a proper Dimsum brunch I wouldn't pick this. But this place is great for convenience and it's an excellent quick fix for my DimSum craving. The price is also reasonable! 11/13/22 -- We came here as a group of 4. Seating was limited. There's wall counters with bar stools and a middle community table. You can either order to the cashier or on your own on the iPad on the wall. We visited on a Sunday evening after watching a movie at El Capitan. ixlb offered a variety of dumplings at an affordable price. We ordered basically two of everything -- xiao long bao, siu mae, har gow, cha siu bao, steamed egg custard bun, egg tarts, and shaved ice tapioca. In addition, they have a section of the menu for vegetarian options. What we ordered was absolutely delicious! From the quality, flavor, and meat inside was *chefs kiss.* For a party of 4, we ordered a lot but it was perfect because we were able to go home with leftovers for later. I wanted to give an applaud to their staff. Each person I interacted with was genuinely kind and had such great hospitality. It's small restaurant with lots of to go orders, so they were very busy, yet still made sure their customers were taken care of. If you have room for dessert, get the egg custard bun and tapioca shaved ice. Both were sweetened to perfection and was a great option to end our time here. Ixlb's business model works out perfectly in times of COVID. You can preorder via phone or go into the store and order via iPad. There's photos of each dish if you are not familiar with the dishes. I'm so impressed that they make their own dimsum from scratch. Not many dimsum places even in the SGV do they these days. Dimsum was solid. A favorite was the pineapple custard bun and egg tarts. Overall, I highly recommend. I know Hollywood isn't somewhere you would associate with authentic dimsum, but it really hits the spot. Plus the owner is just so kind. Stopped by and made a pickup order of bento box, Pork Siu Mai, spicy noodle and Pan Friend Pork Dumpling. Restaurant has very limited bar and counter height seating. There is no table service so it's first come first serve. Limited parking in the back. Kitchen was quite busy for Sunday morning. The bento box I think tasted more like Taiwanese style cuisine which made me believe this is a Taiwanese shop, but actually it's kind of a mix of canton and Taiwan. Bento box came with a tea flavored egg with fried tofu. Was well seasoned. The spicy noodle had its good amount of "5" spices, which I really like. But might make your tongue tingle a bit if you have never tried them before. Get it! It's not on the menu but it's available to order in person or via the order screen. Pork siu mai was huge. Double the size of even the well known dimsum places in sgv, but then it's also double the price so ‍ Overall great and authentic tastes, at the premium prices. read more

Went here to pick up a to-go order earlier today. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and flavors that came through each and every bite! The fillings for the 8 different items we ordered were filled with proteins, not just fillers, and were all large pieces! I am picky about dim sum and this place was really good and the price point was better than fair.
