I have frequented Ivy for years on and off. It's in the Village right of Cbad Village a few blocks after you get off the freeway on the Westside. Everyone I have had is great. Loved Amy before now Coco is my go to. The take card and cash but there is a card fee. 90 minutes of the good stuff is $110. Private lot in the back with a convenient door. Very clean and friendly staff. Open 7 days a week. They just really know the human body! read more

Ivy Spa Massage - Couples room - Massage Therapy Near Me - Carlsbad, California

I'm not sure how there are so many positive reviews. I get massages at least twice a month, but my person is on maternity leave right now so I decided to give this spa a try. I booked a hot stone massage, but when I arrived I was told they couldn't do hot stone. That should've been my cue to leave. But I was undressed and on the table when I was told this change. The massage was extremely painful and aggressive, especially on my legs -- it felt like punching. They did check in about pressure, but even after I said it was too much, they immediately went back to the same painful technique. The room was cold, the draping was inadequate (just a thin strip of a sheet that didn't cover my whole body), and there were loud cleaning noises outside the room for much of the massage. It was so loud that it was impossible to relax. Checkout was chaotic -- they insisted I had a membership I don't have and seemed confused about how to charge me. Overall, completely unprofessional and not relaxing at all. My massage did not resemble a standard licensed massage experience in the U.S. Would not recommend. read more

Coco blew all of us away with her technique! Everyone in our family went back. I am very experienced getting massages and Coco has magical hands. While it's not a fancy place, this is a 5 star massage. read more

Just got the best massage of my life from MICHELLE. I almost don't want to tell you about her, so I can keep her to myself. She is so kind, and fixed my neck and shoulders. Book her immediately. read more

I went to Ivy Spa early last year after straining my shoulder and pulling some muscles in my legs from softball. I also had some extreme tightness in my feet and legs from marathon training and soreness in my shoulder and back. It was the closest place near my work's office, so I scheduled a 1-hour session in advance. The therapist was very professional and skilled, and we spoke very little. I actually wish I had gotten the ninety minute massage afterwards. The massage hurt only when the therapist massaged the tightness in my legs, but it was well worth it. I felt a lot better about a day or 2 afterwards like with other massages. I wish I could remember the therapist's name, because I would go back. They didn't leave their name in the booking or take mine. That would be my only complaint. I went to check the location and realized that I never left my review from April last year. read more

I had recently been in a car accident totaling my car; and one week ago my husband and I started moving into a new condo in Carlsbad; and have had many years of back and neck issues. With all that is going on with me, my back flared badly. Coco was simply amazing. She took the time to really focus on my troubled areas and when I left... I felt like a completely new person. I highly recommend her!! I did the 90 minute massage. read more

Had a 2 hour massage today. This war my 2nd time here in the last few weeks and it was absolutely the best massage I've had in a couple years. The quality, cleanliness are fantastic. The deep tissue is great, the walk on back was wonderful, and the reflexology had me feeling so much better. Thank you! read more

OMG!! I had one of the best massages last night. I had pain on my lower back after falling off a golf cart. However, after COCO did her magic. I can touch my lower back without any pain or discomfort!! The entire massage was also so Amazing! I would DEFINITELY recommend COCO and the Ivy Spa of Carlsbad!!!! read more

The best spa I've ever been to! Located in the heart of Carlsbad (Carlsbad village). My friend had recommended this place since I had a massage envy subscription, and I just wasn't getting the relief I was looking for. I love both Michelle and Coco. They are truly healers, I always leave feeling like a new person. My mom LOVES coming here as well. I have sent so many friends and family there and they've all been so thankful! Who doesn't love relief in your back after carrying so much stress!?? Or relief on an over-worked body!? Not only do they do a great job with massages but they give you tips on what you can do at home to help with back issues/pain/wellness, etc. They seriously have a customer for life. And I will continue to refer people there because they're the BEST. Thank you so much Michelle and Coco..!!!! Can't wait to see you real soon!!!! read more

Booked a couples massage a couple days ago and it was honestly amazing. My massage therapist name was CoCo and I am going to request her every time going forward. I was in so much back pain before our session and I had a nasty migraine all day I was so stressed and in so much pain, after our session my back pain was completely gone, migraine gone, stress gone. It was such a relief. I am not sure what massage therapist my boyfriend had but he said it was the best massage he's ever had. We will definitely be back. I was a little hesitant to book a session here due to the lack of reviews, but I am so happy I gave this place a chance. You should check this place out. I can't wait to book my next appointment. Thank you Coco and Ivy Spa Massage! read more

Best massage I've had in In Carlsbad. Michelle was easy to reach, on time incredibly thorough with her technique and I will definitely be coming back read more

Simply amazing!! Very professional, therapeutic, listened to my needs and fair pricing. Highly recommend!!

I am updating and adding stars solely based on the spa's customer service. They called me and offered for me to come back so they could do some kind of therapy for my pain but I live two hours away and had already left town so that was not an option for me. They also offered to refund me, which I declined because I felt guilty accepting it. It was partially my fault for not speaking up during the massage. I appreciate their efforts to fix the issue. However, this could have been avoided if the spa had better communication with me beforehand and I hope they make improvements going forward. If you still decide to go here, I would suggest talking with your masseuse before the massage starts and explaining your preferences, and maybe you will have a better experience than me. read more

I stumbled across Ivy Spa when I was trying to use some Class Pass credits. Happy accident! I want to preface by saying that if you're modest in any way you should be clear what you do and don't want massaged. This in NO WAY means that there is anything inappropriate happening here. I just know that some people (primarily us prudish Americans) can be uncomfortable with our bodies in a way most other cultures are not. I was cured of this with my first massage in Bali. My favorite of all time anywhere masseuse, Agung, gave me a thorough massage that might have doubled as a mammogram... so I'm not squeamish when it comes to a solid therapeutic massage. I say all of this as a reference point to my comfort in the booty kneading I got at Ivy. This is something that I welcomed, as I have gluteus MAX pain and need the deep tissue work. I also say all of this so that when you go into this spa you should be specific about your own comfort level with your masseuse. They are wonderful and I wholeheartedly recommend them! read more

Maybe I just have high standards because back in my hometown, my masseuse was a teacher for a massage therapy school, but this was the worst massage I've ever gotten. Rubbing your forearm up my back and to into my neck repeatedly is not a massage. Left 20 mins into it, still paid, but came out in more much more pain, wasn't relaxed one minute of it, the first 10 mins it felt like there was a dime sized amount of lotion on her hand so that hurt, I didn't even know the masseuse's name, and the lack of knowledge of the body and it's muscles and how they run was insane. Not to mention the sheets to cover you were see through... I could honestly go on. Thank goodness I have good friends that could make me laugh about it hours later, but this was a horrible experience. read more

One of the best massages I've ever had! Thankfully I found a place in town that is absolutely amazing!

Great massage today very soothing and balanced attention to both sides of the body. You can tell the massage therapist is not winging it. She definitely knows what she is doing and applies great pressure and makes adjustments to pressure when asked. I definitely will be returning. Today it was about 75$ for 1 hour. read more

I went in for a 90 minute massage with Mary. I was really pleased at Mary's intuitive technique and professionalism. She was able concentrate on the upper back where I was tight from surfing. I went home and booked immediately for my wife and myself. My Wife had Co Co and I was not able to get Mary, but was given Summer. We are 100% impressed with Ivy Spa Massage and it's professional staff and will be returning customers. (we decided instead of going out for cocktails to get massages instead, feel better the next day) Atmosphere: pleasant and relaxing Cleanliness: very clean! Pricing: bargain Staff: clean and professional Massage: above par read more

Go here if you're looking for a high quality experience. Coco and Michelle were more than awesome and polite as can be. I just came back from my visit at this "spa" and i wont becoming back. My massage wasnt relaxing and my masseuse seemed as if she wasnt trained properly. I was Asked to pay before my service, I asked why and she replied "All my customers do it". A bit Odd.During my massage i got to listen to the man in the room next to me laughing and having a conversation. After my appointment was done i met the masseuse outside the room. She offered me snacks and a water, sweet! I tipped her as i was leaving and she laughed at the money i gave her and almost attempted to grab the water bottle back. read more

if it's my first time at a massage place, i always do 30 minutes just to gauge the skill and quality of the parlor. i will definitely be back for a longer massage after this! i mentioned in the beginning how my main issues were upper back/shoulders/neck and jolie paid great attention to these parts. i don't get massages often so there were some spots i was more sensitive/ticklish -- still felt great but my body would jolt. she stopped and asked if she was going too hard (which she wasn't) and i thought it was so sweet of her to check in with me. overall perfect pressure and strength. my entire body is relaxed, jolie massaged every part of my body while still keeping in mind my requests. the head massage felt so great! i will for sure be back! read more

One of the best massages I've ever had. I got the 90 min massage and it was wonderful!!! She was so strong and I would definitely be a regular if I lived in Carlsbad. I highly recommend and will definitely go back every time I'm in town. I'm quite picky when it comes to massage, so this is a very high praise. read more

Just got a massage from Mary, the latest addition to the talented staff at Ivy Spa. Mary is attractive, attentive, and has a happy demeanor. Her massage skills are great, and she concentrated on the areas giving me pain very effectively (sciatic nerve pain, lower back and glutes, hands and wrists). I loved her strong, long and deep strokes (much preferred to the "pushing" type massage given by typical Chinese masseuse). She did a fantastic job on my very arthritic wrists and hands, as well as my right knee and calf muscle. Mary must have been a Doctor in another life, as I felt her healing powers and left refreshed and with reduced pain in my problem areas. Mary is one more reason that you can't go wrong at Ivy Massage Spa, best choice in North County San Diego. read more

I'm on vacation. Easy to make a reservation online and there was availability! One of the best massages I have ever had. Hands down. Easy efficient and great massage. Hands down best massage I have ever had. I get deep-tissue, therapeutic massages and have never been so satisfied in 15 years of trying different masseuses than I was with Michelle yesterday. She listened and did exactly what I needed, performed techniques that were new to me, and put more effort into our appointment than I was expecting. Above and beyond! read more

This review is five stars because of what an amazing massage therapist Coco is. I need very deep work on the suboccipital muscles in my neck to alleviate gnarly tension headaches and Coco knows how it's done. In addition, I have chronic pain and Coco always seems to find what is ailing me that particular week whether it's low back or neck. She works on, and knows, the meridians too and she does accupressure on those. I need regular massages for my pain and she is able to do the type of deep pressure that alleviates that pain. (So many therapists don't or can't do the type of deep work I need. She is a godsend.) I am a former massage therapist, massage instructor, and spa manager so I know and appreciate a talented therapist when I am worked on by one. Coco is a true healer. read more

My masseuse is a true healer. I felt relaxed, vibrant and healthy after my massage. Seriously felt relaxed and invigorated at the same time. All my aches and pains from working out and hiking are gone and I ready for another adventure. I'll be back again. read more

Michelle and Coco are both AMAZING! Myself and my boyfriend have been going here for 2-ish years now: we started going here before the pandemic hit then once they were allowed to open back up, we went with masks. It's great every single time. The realllly work out your muscles and tension. I feel so zen after I leave. You can't beat the price either. I really enjoy that you can book an appointment right through their website as well, instead of having to call and leave a VM and waiting for someone to call you back. Highly recommend! read more

My first time here and it was such a wonderful, professional experience with Angela, better than any massage I have ever had. She went out of her way to work out my knots and gave great attention to the details, all the while making it relaxing and comfortable. I can't say enough about Angela, she has a magic touch and I will definitely be back! My wife also had a massage with Coco and couldn't stop raving about the deep tissue and acupressure she did on her. Serious therapy and care. We will never go anywhere else. read more

I'm definitely no massage connoisseur but I was able to drop in and get a super awesome massage with hot stones for less than $50! This place is right by my office in the village and I love that they are open late. It was nice and clean inside and all the staff were sweet. My masseuse was attentive and made sure I was comfortable and the pressure was good! They asked me if I would like to pay first or after, which I LOVED because I would much rather pay first since I look like a hot mess after an hour with my face in a pillow. Thanks ladies! I'll be back for sure and send my clients over also :) read more

i was searching for a place to get my hair cut and ran into Ivy Spa and a wonderful lady named Emily... I had just come back from a weeks business out of town and slept in a terribly uncomfortable bed at the time, which finally caught up to me... My Back and shoulders were wrenched from my final night of sleeping on that bed, so I figured a good massage might take the pain away. When I got back from my trip I went and had 2 massage procedures done to deal with my aching upper back and shoulder region, while both procedures did help a little bit but I was still in knots. After spending the money and time on those 2 massages I was nearly over the idea of another attempt at a massage to help with aching back and shoulders. Thinking sleeping in my own bed time and walking would take care of my discomfort. I stumble across Ivy Spa, while I was going to get my haircut and had the best massage I have had in years from a sweet gal named Emily. I was skeptical at first about another massage especially without an appointment and my past experiences but was welcomed and comforted by the staff at Ivy Spa.... And that was the best find I have had in awhile... Emily my masseuse was very attentive to my needs while giving my poor aching back and shoulders the work that was needed for me to float out of Ivy Spa to get my hair cut.... Emily was a doll and gave me the best massage I have had in very long time... I will definitely go back to Ivy Spa... I can't thank Emily enough for a great massage and relieving from the discomfort that was magically taken from me... Very clean facility .... My choice for massage from now.... Thank you Emily... read more

I have been getting massage for about 10 years on average once a month. I have settled on Ivy Massage. They give an outstanding therapeutic clean massage. I always call ahead to see if Michelle is available. She knows how to zero in on where I am sore. I always leave feeling better then when I arrived. I usually fall asleep during the massage at one point. I tell Michelle that she is "Number One" because she is the best! I know there is a slight premium, which I figured was because of there convenient location, but Michelle is the best and most consistent masseuse ever. So she is definitely worth it. It turns out she teaches massage and I respect her and how she is dedicated to her craft. read more
