At first I thought the leg massage was a bit short but oh no, the leg massage came AFTER the polish was applied. The massage was likely the best I have ever received with a pedicure and doing it after gave the polish time to dry. What a great idea! (I've never had that happen before). Small family-run business with three pedicure and two manicure stations. Clean and bright, even on a dreary, rainy day. My salon at home advised me to stay away from salons that use the plastic bags so I was happy to see they were not used here. I didn't ask ahead of time what the price was and was pleasantly surprised to learn it was $40, less than I pay at home. There was no upsell pressure, just one of the best pedicures I've ever had! I will have to say I've had many years of massages and this was a total different method of deep massage and I was so pleased with Wills skillful deep tissue massage and helped me relieved my pain, ache and stressed out body. I wish I had booked a longer session. I then got my gel pedi. She used the OPI gel on my toes. I have been going to Ivy nails for 2 years. I've tried other nail salons in Anchorage and this is the best by fa. I love all the people there they're so friendly and I always do exactly what you ask them to do. That was a fun friendly atmosphere. I have been there when they have been some people that are unreasonable asking for things that they shouldn't the staff always handled it professionally. there are always those people out there that want everything for free. That's just not reality. Keep up the good work guys best pedicures in town and I wouldn't go anywhere else to get my nails done. Or my eyebrows for that fact. You're loyal customer Kathy read more

I just had the worst manicure of my life. They have a pathetic selection of colors (basically all pastel) the polish started peeling mid manicure so she took it all off and did another one. I asked from a chrome color on 2 of the nails and the owner said that the manicurist did my nails incorrectly to accept a chrome color on those nails so instead of fixing it they just shooed me out the door with beige polish. Avoid this place if you like quality colors and polish. I should add that she didn't take all of the fist color off so I have dark black spots showing through the beige so my nails look dirty. read more

I've been going to Maggie at Ivy Nails for 2 years and I LOVE her service. She is hands down the best manicurist I've ever been too. I'm having to move out of state in May and Maggie and Ivy Nails are at the top of the list for what I'll miss about Anchorage. 5 star excellent service!!! Not sure what Adrian is complaining about on here. Maggie is ALWAYS professional, polite, and sweet. She is great at what she does and prices are beyond reasonable. That woman must have mental health issues or she's a con woman. read more

Steven has been doing my nails for the last couple months, but ivy nails as a salon has had my business for over the five years I've lived in Alaska. I don't recommend anything but them. And now I always refer my own personal clients to Steven. I have been coming to see Maggie for 5 years, every two weeks. She always did an excellent job and did anything and everything I asked for. Even when I was super picky while pregnant! Maggie not only took the best care of me but she quickly became my friend as well. I am moving out of state very soon and will very much miss Maggie and the rest of the staff at Ivy Nails for always making me feel relaxed and right at home. Love you guys!! read more

It's always a good experience at ivy nails! All the nail techs are nice and take their time with you! I've always left happy with no complaints! Also their prices are fair and they usually get you in pretty fast, even if you don't have an appointment. I usually see Maggie or Christine, but they all do a great job! I suggest trying to make an appointment with the tech you like because its a popular place and they stay busy! read more

The lady told me "my nails were too short, and ugly. How could my husband like nails like that?" Not only that but they insisted to out fake nails on me, when all I wanted was shellac. Then they stopped half way through because another appointment came in. Well I had an appointment too... So I'm not as important? I felt completely unwelcome. I did show up without an appointment at 3:45 PM, and they asked me to come back at five, and I agreed. I showed the young lady the picture that I wanted, and she didn't have a problem with it. She said it was fine. We started at five. She did not finish my nails till almost 8:15 PM. I also asked for a pedicure, and that wasn't started till a little after seven because the young lady doing my nails was taking more time than she thought it would take, I guess, to complete them. Everyone was obviously in a rush to leave the store and they went back-and-forth about who was gonna finish my pedicure, so once the gentleman came and put the acrylic on my toes and then another lady came to paint them and didn't give me a massage, didn't do my callus, didn't do anything, just painted my toes. She did not do a second coat. She just put clear on and put me under the light, and so part of my issue is that one, my entire toe is not even covered with the toenail or the acrylic that I paid for, so you can see in the picture. It's not even covering my entire toe. My nails, the gems on my nails started coming off because the young lady did not even put a topcoat on, and at this point it was already after 8 o'clock, so the gems have just been snagging and getting catching on to everything and popping off. Picture below, you can also see where on Monday night my nails were lifting. I don't work in any kind of strenuous job. I am an office administrator. I sit at a desk and type all day, so I'm barely having anything done around my nails where they're being aggressively forced to make my nails pop off. I did call Monday after my appointment was on Saturday night and I was told by the receptionist that she would pass my message along to the manager and the manager would reach out to me, today is Wednesday and no one has reached out to me about correcting anything regarding my toes or my nails. I did spend $220 and left a $40 tip.

Ironically, I love all things cat eye, so this was a treat! I moved back to Anchorage at the end of August, so I had to find a nail salon that carried Cat Eye Shellac. Not only does Tina carry that line, she has many of the colors I love, and even a few new ones! Tina did an amazing job! I love the colors I ended up choosing.
