First off this place is beautiful there is a rainforest & roses theme to the decor which I love and the venue is oh-so instagrammable there are many places to stop & take photos. And a hallway that leads to the bathroom with a ring light ( the owners KNEW who the audience was for this ) I went for a dance lesson with Latin Dance Factory there was a good amount of people without the place being packed. Wanted to experience something different for date night. Unfortunately, Ivy House fell short. We came here for a performance of Ostora, whereas Ivy House is the exclusive home. The venue itself is small. Parking is onsite but a joke to be required to valet for parking your car steps away from the front door and to be charged for it. The interior decor is unique and photoworthy. I purchased a ticket package for a dinner table and got a pub table with four barstools that had no cushion or backsupport. In addition it is advertised as a 3 course meal and that didn't happen. What was given to you was an appetizer menu with inflated prices and no variety of selection. There was also a cocktail menu. We were also required to be joined by another couple we didn't know, and it kind of ruined my date night. The show itself was ok with a lot of storytelling and short performances of song and dancing. I guess if you are into semi nude women, you may enjoy it. Some of the acrobatics were stunning! This is brand new bar located along Washington Ave. I'll start off with the positives. The location is huge with a lot of high-top seating and private booths. There is a main bar and a smaller bar close to the outdoor patio. The outdoor patio has plenty of tables and hammocks. It was raining pretty hard when we went though so we didn't spend any time outside. There's endless photo opportunities and Instagram-worthy backdrops. I could see this place being a destination for bachelorette parties or a girls night out. What I'm most disappointed with is their drink options. The cocktail menu didn't really have much variety but they could be expanding since it's still fairly new. Again, I'm trying to give them the benefit of the doubt since they're new but it took a while for us to get served from the booths considering there weren't that many people. There was also a DJ that started playing music at a certain time but it did not fit the vibe and it felt very out of place. Lastly, when we went, valet parking was the only option but I read other reviews saying that they were able to self park. Valet was either $20 to have your car parked in the lot or $10 to have it parked in the lot across the street. read more

This is the former Hughes Hangar with a big makeover. Lots of cool drinks and decorations to take great pics. Mixologists. Valet parking. Bouncers. DJs. Bathroom attendants. I have been here multiple times and keep going back. I love everything about this place, the vibe, the music, the atmosphere and how it's beautifully decorated and spacious. I can't stand crowded bars where u can't even walk around and end up spilling your drink all over yourself trying to get through the crowd. This place gets busy but between the space inside and outside you have room to move and explore what the bar has to offer. Great spot for photo ops. I gotta say, even as an older guy who doesn't go to these types of bars/lounges much anymore unless accompanied by younger people in our group, I was pleasantly surprised. This used to be Hugh's Hanger but I never actually make it there back then because it seemed like kind of hassle. As such I was fully prepared to get harassed at the door, wait behind the velvet rope, or that other nonsense that some other places still do, but the door guy was very pleasant, our waitress at our table was nice (we did have bottle service so that probably helps), and it was a nice environment. They have a lot of decorations with flowers and places to pose out for selfies for your insta and tik tok (or whatever it is people post their selfies at nowadays) but just last night I found out that after Hugh's closed, it became a wedding venue so I'm guessing they probably still have some of that stuff still around. One area that still sucks is parking. They have a parking lot but it looked like valet was using it. Nobody was around to ask about it and there were no signs so did what I used to do back in the day when we'd go to Liberty Station and just parked on the street. Alas, street parking is paid now too until 2 AM and it's $3 an hour which kind of sucks. After reading some of the other reviews on here, it seems that valet might have actually come out cheaper but again, there was no signage and I wouldn't want to get a nasty surprise at the end of the night when it comes to get my car. Vibe- This is a fairly new spot on Washington Avenue. It's so cute inside, there's ivy all around and other flowers too for decor. There's a huge area to sit outside and plenty of seating inside too. If you go for happy hour, you can park for free in the lot. Valet parking starts at 7pm! Customer service- The bartender I had was great, he was so kind! Food/drinks- I had the La Jamaica and it was a good cocktail. I just wish they had more food (veggie options for sure) items on their menu. Parking- Great during happy hour. We arrived for happy hour right at their 5 PM opening. Valet wasn't officially set up yet, so we snagged some parking spots on our own. As we were leaving, it looked like a mix of valet and self parking options. Outdoor patio is quite large and there's plenty of seating indoors and out. Our bartender was fantastic, and she recommended some of their top sellers to us. Great cocktail menu! They also serve a pretty decent list of domestic and craft beer; wine options are minimal. We opted for the Gardenia and La Jamaica, and both were great! Happy Hour prices weren't advertised, but we were happily surprised to see a lower charge on our bill. read more

Ivy House HTX owes Texas Frozen Tropics $984.90 for the rental of 2 margarita machines for 2 months. They have ignored emails, texts, and phone calls. The vibe is great! The decor is really beautiful and I would go solely for the feel. The cocktail selection was limited. I felt the bartenders were really mediocre and just very unimpressive. I went on a day it wasn't busy and it just didn't feel personal. With it being a big venue and in a populated area, I'm surprised there's not really food. a new bar tucked in by the cemetery! i love: - their aesthetic plant chandeliers - the cute photo spots (for insta) - the layout (booth, tables, bar tops, & outdoor patio) - that it's for everyone and for all celebrations they have a $5 valet parking which isn't bad at all but they need to speed up the process. they were highly short staffed on a saturday night, took forever to get drinks. a good tip: go to the side bar rather than the main bar. the drinks are stronger too lol. def will be coming back, it's a chill spot to hang. my fav was that you are able to go from the spacious patio section to the live club section at any time :) they should prob start checking IDs though, gotta control the crowd! music is good. read more

A cocktail bar that doesn't serve cocktails after 9pm and will rob you. I came here on a Friday night with my co workers/ friends and the experience was subpar with a premium price tag . Let's start with the service, the waitress was less than stellar. Didn't check up on us after ordering food or bring us utensils or napkins. But she was having a good time on her phone and dancing like she was the patron and payer of the experience. Second the drinks were overpriced and not worth it. I tried to order a several cocktails and was told they could not make any of their signature drinks after 9 pm because it was happy hour menu. How when the drinks on the menu were 14 and 16 in what world is that happy hour. Shots were 18 and we barely were given any liquor. My group of 5 people paid over $500 for one cocktail and two round of shots. It was absurd for these prices we could have gotten bottle service and a better experience. So my friend and I saw this place on IG. Very cute and IG convinced us this was the place to come to. First off the only way to park is to pay $15 for valet. It was no one in the place and it was a Wednesday. So to be charging $15 for valet is ridiculous. Online they promote "kitchen open until 2am" and there is only one thing on the menu, steak and fries. The waiter didn't know what drinks were included in the happy hour and had to go ask someone. I wouldn't try this place again. It was just for IG picture taking, not somewhere I would recommend for somewhere to go. There is much better places in houston that I would recommend. read more

Super chill place! My party and I had a great time. No parking, valet only but its complimentary until 9pm. Drinks were strong and reasonably priced for the area. The bartenders definitely know what they're doing, especially Ryan. They're still working on their food menu - all they had is steak with unlimited fries but it was A+. They have a big outdoor seating area too, but it was pretty cold so we stayed inside. We were there almost 4 hours and there was plenty of room for everyone to sit or move around. First be prepared to valet unless you are familiar with the area and park at your own risk. The time is 9:11 pm when my wife an I approached the main entrance, mind you this was a casual day in the city for us it's early spring I'm wearing shorts. At the door a decal posted after 9:00 no baseball cap, no shorts I forgot the 3 rd one. So I'm hesitant to walk in but no one is at the door I scan the crowd I see a lot of people wearing shorts. I approach the first bar I see very cool bartender informed me he's a speed bar the main bar is inside cool. Now inside very club like instagramble scene the attire was a lot more polished. Some patrons were decked out others super dressy at that moment my wife and felt super undressed. Anywho ordered our regular old fashioned not on the menu, went outside by the exit/entryway and now in front of the door is a doorman. Appeared laid back but enforced the after 9 rules. Which now seemed confusing he was very strict about baseball caps but shorts was hit or miss. Now for the good part if you look them up they show food in some website photos I didn't see food menu or anyone eating inside or out. Very mixed crowd from all walks of life but the later it got the younger the scene. Cocktails are now finished my wife and I are done talking and people watching as well as swinging on the swing set. Go checkout see a itemized receipt $12x2 for bourbon, $5x2 old fashioned, $2x2 for the ice tax then service fee which if you read is a automatic 20%. I chuckled sign my receipt showed the wife we laughed like wow never seen a itemized bar receipt now for the best part while walking out the doorman seized his opportunity " hey big guy next time no shorts" I draw his attention to the sign it says after 9, he replies " Yeah buttt" I stopped listening was not looking for unnecessary dialogue.
