In-person quick friendly service or option to order from an automated self-serve kiosk. Everything was clean and all the options are properly displayed. There's a large selection of slushies, smoothies, teas with a variety of toppings like boba, pudding, jelly, fruit etc. Dairy and non-dairy options. Some pastries and fried foods. We ordered the taro smoothie, coconut slush, brown sugar tea with boba, coconut pudding, and mango jelly. Everything we ordered tasted great and not super sweet and size for the price was not bad at all.

It's Boba Time is pretty consistent between locations. My group got the peach lychee fruit tea with mango popping boba, the taro milk tea with boba, the matcha tornado (cookies and cream with matcha), and the hibiscus berry lemonade tea with strawberry boba. We've never had the matcha tornado before and it was very sweet but good. For the peach lychee fruit tea, there was a lot of pulp/fruit pieces. Boba toppings are .75 cents extra and a large size (vs a regular) is .50 cents extra. The service was quick and nice. There are about 3 tables inside to eat, 1 2-seater and 2 bench-style seats.

We love Boba Time!!! Whenever we see one (it's part of a chain), we always get drinks there. My kids are more adventurous and try different drinks every time. Me not so much. I always get the same thing... either the Taro smoothie or Mango smoothie. Hey, I'm a creature of habit. But either way, we always go away feeling cool and refreshed!

Stopped by here during lunch time. We were next door having a quick lunch at Panda Express and wanted to get some boba drinks. We ordered the Thai tea boba and taro milk tea boba drinks. Both drinks were not bad, except the taro one tasted pretty watered down. Service wasn't good. Our drinks were done and ready, but they just let it sit at the counter for a while. There were enough staff in the back to complete our order instead of waiting for the front staff to do everything. Not sure if we would come back to this location. Their macarons and other desserts didn't look appealing either. It cost $2.50/macaron which isn't too pricey.

This boba place was not what I expected. Don't let the long lines and crowds of people coming here give you FOMO to come here. It's not really boba or at least that what I tasted. On a Friday night this movie theatre area on Main and Garfield is very busy. Full of movie goers and people who just came from a movie. First thing people do is wither grab something before a show or after as a snack. Inside this store was packed of people waiting for their orders. There were only 2 guys working there. Once people got their orders the place started to clear, otherwise this place can feel claustrophobic. I tried their Strawberry Match drink on their Top 10 menu item list. It was tasteless. It was as if I was drinking milk in a cup of ice. No Matcha flavor and no taste of Strawberry at all! I opted for a regular size since a large would be an investment. Glad I did not go for a size up. Their regular size for the price was steep! Also tried a macaron while I was there. They were just there staring out in front of the display case in its array of colors. I chose earl grey since it has a nice subtle taste and it was in this color blue color. Sadly it did not have any earl grey taste at all... it tastes like a chocolate soft cookie with a vanilla center dyed in blue color. I think if you go for other drink flavors that have a popular distinct taste like "oreo" then the drink would be ok. Otherwise, I would steer clear of this place. If you want real matcha taste go across the street to 7 Leaves! It's much better.

i forgot how good its boba time actually is. i tend to overlook this place with all the other tea places in the area, but this place is a perfect alternative for people with children. they offer non caffeinated drinks and is on doordash

New boba shop just opened in front of the theater. I get my usual at it's boba time, thai tea with boba and hubby got the boba coffee. We both enjoyed the drink we each got. I personally did not like the boba coffee. It was a bit bitter not that sweet. I have yet to try other drinks here, but their boba is so-so. Their boba is smaller than normal and not as small as a mini boba. I don't prefer this unusual size boba and it can be cooked a bit more. Overall decent boba place and would come by when I have boba cravings in that area.

Just opened and we couldn't be happier

Writing this review because after being sorely disappointed from another acai bowl, this perfect bowl was soooooo satisfying. I like that they layer in the granola on the bottom and the top, because it acts as an insulator that helps keep the bowl frozen longer! The fruit was ripe and sweet, the honey and agave drizzled on top of all types of coconut (raw, sweetened, toasted, shredded), and bee pollen. The service is polite, friendly, and efficient. The spot is small but looks modern and clean. Parking lot is a bit chaotic, but it's in a plaza so you can park on the other side that has lots of space and walk over!

You can't go wrong with either a build-your-own açai bowl or smoothie (personal fav either the Cloud 9 or Zendaya's Smoothie -- I can't pick hehe!). Also a plus with the free whey protein boost when you want to hit your macros for the day! Presentation is also very aesthetic so if you love taking food pics as much as I do, you'll never be disappointed here . The staff here are also very friendly so I always feel welcomed to mix up my bowls :)

Came here with my daughter yesterday, after she raved to me about how good they were. She was right! We each got their small size, but it was filled with so much goodness to fill our hunger. It's build-your-own everything here at Roots & Rye! Not just acai bowls, but toasts and smoothies as well. Unlimited toppings is a dream come true. I chose green tea matcha and overnight oats for my base. Topped it with banana, strawberries, oats, almonds and almond butter. It was SO good! The matcha tastes just like frozen yogurt. I can't believe these babies are good for us. When I got home around dinner time, I was still full from my açaí bowl. I will be thinking about these bowls until the next time I get them again. Goodness with each bowl, heaven with each bite.

I have not yet tried their açai bowl although what I have seen from others, it looks delicious and it has a vast range of toppings that are unlimited. I even saw toddlers, ordering it and super excited to eat it. What I have ordered often from the shop are there toasts. You can get a choice of bread which is very high-quality, and add either avocado spread or a nut butter spread. I went yesterday on a very hot day and the avocados were not ripe enough, so I chose a cashew butter toast. There are many toppings to choose from like granola's, nuts, seeds, chia pudding, fresh fruit, and even natural sweeteners. I got some berries, fresh and toasted coconut and date syrup drizzled on top. It is such a satisfying snack with a bit of protein and other healthy ingredients that I did not feel guilty about eating I don't know if it was the bread I chose, but the size was a little smaller than what I remember. However, it hit the spot until my next meal. The shop is extremely clean and Service was very pleasant and friendly.

I loved the avocado and hash brown combination, and the salsa that came with it paired really well, a little kick with it. The portion size was great and definitely filled me up. [Parking]: Free small public parking lot directly across from the shop. [Amenities]: This is a really small coffee shop with no indoor tables and only two small outdoor tables. No restroom is available. [Menu]: Yelp's top highlighted items are the Breakfast Burrito, Teddy Bear (double espresso, agave, housemade vanilla cold foam, Teddy Grahams), and Banana Nut. All drinks are made with oat milk. Please note that the kitchen closes at 1 PM on Monday - Tuesday and 2 PM on Wednesday- Sunday even though the cafe remains open for another 1 - 2 hours. Come early for anyone wanting to try kitchen items like breakfast burrito or breakfast sandwich. *** Banana nut (double espresso, house made vanilla cold foam, house made banana syrup - medium $7.50): It came with two banana chips. The cold foam was quite underrated and I could taste a hint of banana flavor. The drink wasn't as sweet as I had expected - I liked it. Breakfast burrito (Refried beans, soyrizo, tofu scramble, crispy hashbrowns and sliced avocado wrapped in a flour tortilla - $13.50): Portion wasn't huge, but it also wasn't small enough to finish in one sitting. It had one of the softest texture for breakfast burritos. The soyrizo was very flavorful. It also came with a side of salsa - quite spicy but flavorful at the same time. *** I probably still prefer meat-based breakfast burritos, but their soyrizo breakfast burrito is quite good and the coffee drink is excellent (4.5-star for both items). I would definitely recommend this small coffee shop for a quick grab-and-go.
