Beautiful decorated restaurant, with modern aesthetic. The appetizers were great and her server checked up on us multiple times. Even was able to change out some drinks that we don't like. The entrées were OK, I felt like they were not worth the price and the taste was mediocre overall this place you can come to if you probably want appetizers and drinks with a nice aesthetic.

We were recommended some popular items to try by our server, Thanos, who is from Greece and clearly enjoys them. The pastitsio reminded me of a cheesy lasagna, and the lamb ribs were very tender. It's a fairly new restaurant, but with its beautifully dim ambiance, authentic Greek menu, and delicious dessert, I can definitely see it sticking around! In addition to great suggestions, he was also an amazing bartender and server!

the second I stepped into Ithaki I was in awe. This place was absolutely stunning and I can't believe this was my first time here. The vibes and service were so perfect. We had a server from Greece so it made the experience super authentic! The food was delicious. We loved the Greek fries and steak frites, saganaki and all the cocktails. The lamb ribs were fire too

Tried this new Greek spot overall, a very good experience. The staff and ambiance were great. There is a somalier who gave a great wine recommendation and we ended up ordering multiple bottles For food we had a group and tried A LOT! We started with: Octopus 4/5 - great flavor but portion was small for the price, the four of us basically got one large bite each Saganaki 5/5 - what you would expect but perfectly delicious Spanakopita - can't say bc I didn't try but my friends said it was mid Zucchini chips - 5/5 - delicious. Would rate these as the best I've had in the city. Lamb ribs - 3.5/5 good but nothing to write home about. Still solid though if you like ribs. Mushrooms - 5/5 i'm not even a mushroom person, but these were absolutely amazing. Must get item. For entrees we each got something different and shared. My husband got the red snapper special and for $85 dollars we were sorely disappointed. It was a good portion but just very mediocre. They did prepare it well at the table though. My other friend ordered the grouper and also wasn't impressed with the flavor. So I would ship the fish here. I got the lamb chops which were delicious and it was a good portion. Would highly recommend. My other friend got the steak frites and it was also delicious. I gave him flack for ordering steak at a Greek restaurant, but I'd have to say I would recommend that as well. Again, overall tasty and great service! Lyra is still number one for me but worth the try.

    1. Village Salad - heirloom tomatoes, red onions, cucumber, bell peppers, kalamata olives, dill, oregano, barrel aged feta 2. Wood Oven Octopus - fava beans, marinated onions, olive oil, burnt lemon 3. Red Snapper - olive salsa, fennel pollen 4. Saganaki w/ lemon 5. Lemon Possets - lemon custard, raspberry dust, edible flowers 6. Loukoumades 7. Lamb Chops - fresh oregano, grilled lemon 8. Forest Mushrooms 9. Braised Beef Cheek - hilopites noodles, kefalotyri 10. Turmeric Pickled Vegetables Great presentation on all the dishes and portions are shareable. I'd recommend everything we ordered. Village Salad was vibrant and fresh. Octopus and lamb chops were seasoned and tender, not dry. I highly recommend the red snapper if there's at least 4 of you. Forest Mushrooms and beef cheeks were very flavorful. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. I like that there was ample space between tables and no loud music. This is my new favorite Greek restaurant in Greek town now.

Service was very nice and the food was delicious. Noise levels were a little high and it was hard to hear each other. We had: - Taramasalata: good portion with bread/veggies for dipping - Mussels: unique and delicious broth - Lamb Ribs: tasty but lots of bones - Squid ink pasta: tender noodles with a ton of crab - Beef Cheek: tender meat - Bougatsa: rich custard and flaky pastry - Sokolatopita: fluffy cake, would have liked ice cream with it to cut the richness (and justify the price) Overall, we had a good experience and would come back!

This past summer, I came with my auntie and mom. Service here is impeccable. I value servers so much as the work they do is often underrated. There were things he did (i.e., refilling waters or replacing silverware) that I didn't even see him do! No need to ask and by the time you noticed, it was already done. Exquisite. The inside is beautiful, relaxing & calm. The atmosphere prepares you for the meal. We ordered Roasted Beets, Squid Ink & Dungeness Crab, Red Snapper, & Greek Fries. Never order beets if you're not a beets person. My mom enjoyed them. On a better note, the Greek fries were good. After many watched culinary shows, I finally got the opportunity to try Squid Ink Pasta. Delicious! Now for the main event... the red snapper. As you can see from the picture, we could have licked the plate clean. It was so tasty and melted in my mouth. Enjoyed my experience and my food thoroughly. 9/10

Having lived in so many cities in the "Good Old U.S. of A.", I've treated myself to any and everything each city offered me. San Francisco's Chinatown is very Chinese and very good Los Angeles's Korea town is exactly that - Korean food that really delivers New York's Little Italy gives you everything Italy has to offer Kansas City just kills it with BBQ and last but certainly not least is - Chicago's Greek Town completely captures the distinct flavors of olive oil, feta cheese, garlic and lemon making you feel like you're eating in the Greek Isles. I've eaten in many restaurants here in Chicago's Greek Town; and all have been very good. Tonight at Ithaki Estiatorio us six dove right into their very eclectic menu: * The Braised Beef Cheek were sensational * Their Lamb Chops were hearty, cooked perfectly and seasoned very "Greek" - we Loved Them * Crab Spaghetti - was my FAV and we demolished it * Lavraki - is the Greek word for sea bass, with a fresh and light ladolemono dressing, and man was it good * Hamachi - wonderful * Saganki - Fried "Flaming" Cheese - Loved the dish / Loved the presentation * Wood Over Octopus - delectable * Grilled Eggplant - ever so Greek and ever so savory * A couple of bottles of Skouras 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon and this meal went into The Record Books! With food this good and a very beautiful dwelling in which to eat this food Ithaki Estiatorio should have and could have a Five Star Review; and I believe they will - very soon. They are very new and the growing pains are slightly showing. This intricate and complicated food was taking a bit too long coming out of the kitchen. The wait staff needs to brush up (just a little) on clearing plates that were done with and not bussing plates where people were not finished eating. I'm not knit picking, but.......... This restaurant is "THE REAL DEAL"! Small things like that matter and I'm sure Ithaki Estiatorio is up for the task on these minor corrections. I Loved Ithaki Estiatorio and will absolutely come back!

Very good, modern Greek restaurant with a nice vibe. Located in the original location of the famed "Parthenon" restaurant (obviously demolished", this both a modern take on Greek cuisine with an apparent nod to the old Parthenon restaurant. Review is based on a single visit on a Saturday night, 2/7. I ate at the bar which is very large and well stocked with wine and sprits. Below are my notes on the food. (From the Chicago Restaurant Week menu which represented a tremendous deal). Interior: large, euro chic music and environs, with large wrap around bar and open kitchen. Tarmasalata: too much lemon? Unbalanced. Great presentation with fresh veggies , pita and bread. topped with Greek Salmon roe. Took it home but not my favorite. Sagnaki: great. Hard to muck up though, yes? Cod: with grilled onions, caviar, micro greens. Flavored from the wood fire, herb olive oil sauce, topped with Greek Salmon roe. Excellent and well prepared, presented. Chocolate cake: infused with cinnamon syrup. It's moistness, presentation and unique flavor profile made this stand out. Service: my bartender, Sam, and staff made me feel well attended without being annoying, Bathrooms spotless and aromatic. L

I made Tuesday dinner reservations for 2. Good thing I did since the place was full. Lots of diners and it's a pretty big restaurant. It's very nice with Mediterranean charm and warm lighting and inspiration from the sea. The earth tones of the walls were very aesthetic. A full bar and a good selection of wines to serve ur alcoholic needs. My daughter couldn't stop smiling from the deliciousness of the food! Her favorite was the Youvetsi and it really was delicious. The braised lamb so fine and soft that I barely had to chew. The orzo actually tasted like rice even though it's a pasta. The Souvlaki chicken was to tender and juicy, probably the best chicken I've had in a while. The zucchini chips were light and crispy. The grilled Horta was awesome, I can't believe I ate dandelion:) Finally we had Sokolatopitta chocolate cake for dessert and it was just like the other dishes...so yummy! Our waitress Maria was also so friendly and they promptly cleaned our tables after every dish and kept refilling our waters. Prices were very reasonable considering the quality of the food. Delicious food and great service!

I finally checked out that new Greek spot in Greek town which is exciting to have a new option. The second you walk in, you're hit with this gorgeous vibes, open spaces, with a beautiful bar. Our server was attentive without hovering, which is always a win, and seemed genuinely excited to walk us through the menu. Everything that came out with impressive presentation. It's the kind of place where you want to order way too much food just so you can try everything, and honestly, I'm already planning my next visit. It's a great spot for anything from a date to a group.

Flavors were bland. Service & aesthetics were ok but does it even matter when the food isn't good. Flambeed cheese was the first snoozer as was the whole fish. Of course you get the dog & pony show of "flown in fresh from Greece" but the fish was on the rarer side of the aspect & could've used some seasoning. Pickled veggies could've used some dicing. I'm not the foremost expert on Greek cuisine but I'm convinced there's far better fare than this.

Great atmosphere, beautiful bar and lighting. Nice to sit there in the summer with the windows open. Service was good, didn't try the food yet, just had a cocktail at the bar but everything looked amazing passing by.

Tile fish; a bit small for the price. Greek fries were fried nicely but feta cheese was unnecessary.

This year I was so excited to bring my family and Ema was the only restaurant in Chicago I couldn't wait for them to try. I booked it as our final meal in Chicago and lay awake at 4am being so disappointed in my choice. Our server's greeting was monotone and emotionless, which I realize now, would be foreshadowing the meal to come. Ordered the following 1) Smoky eggplant- arrived appearing as an unappetizing curdled purple grey mush. This was the worst tasting baba ghanouj I have ever eaten. It was acidic and had the texture of cottage cheese. The only redeeming thing about this appetizer was the warm naan. 2) house made stratciatella with side of green falafels- The stratciatella was bland and stringy. I would not order this dish expecting the creamy interior of typical burrata. However, if you like string cheese mixed with heavy cream- you may enjoy this dish. The tomatoes and basil were good. 3) chicken kefta- kefta was bland, rice even blander . 4) short rib with polenta- bland and the meat and polenta had the same texture, which seems impossible but somehow the plating was over complicated by the addition of mushy dates and grapes. 5) buttered noodles- my 8 year old ordered this. It was decent with a good amount of Parmesan and cooked perfectly al dente. By the end of the meal, I was so shocked by how terrible the food was I didn't even want to order the sticky date cake that was my main purpose for returning to this restaurant. The fish was prepared and deboned at the table, which took out all the stress and work! I can't wait to come back for another dinner experience!

I was really excited about the limited menu because I wanted the shredded lamb shoulder. Our reservation was at 5:30... About as early as you can get for dinner and yet they were already sold out of the special so that was really disappointing that they would be so unprepared for one of the most popular dinner date holidays of the year... Alternatively, we went with a bunch of appetizers and split two entrées. Somewhere delicious somewhere very mid and somewhere a let down. Here's the breakdown: - Fried zucchini chips 5/5 - one of my favs in the city - Octopus 2/5 - one of my least favs in the city... it lacked flavor, was a small portion for the price and had a gooey string that grossed us both out - Fish spread that started with an M... haha 5/5 - I can't remember the name, but this was delicious! It was definitely pricey for the portion though especially because it didn't include pita... We had to pay an additional seven dollars for two pieces of pita, which was ridiculous - Oysters - 4/5 - husband enjoyed - Katifi cheese pie 4/5 - very tasty! Sweet and pricey but worth it - On special - fried fish- 2/5 - the waitress described these as small bite-size fish, but that is not how they came out and instead, it was really difficult to debone them and you hardly got any meat out of it. The flavor wasn't bad, but the experience was disappointing. I will say that they comped these after our feedback. - Gyros - 2.5/5 - it's not that these were bad per se... But I've had way better in the city to include fast, casual restaurants, and the price for the portion was pretty ridiculous again. Hardly any accoutrements. - Rockfish with pistachio brown butter - 5/5 - I believe this fish was on special and she described it as being a sweeter fish. They did come to the table and cut it for you so it was a lot easier to eat. The fish was cooked perfectly and had a sweet flavor. I also liked that you could choose your own dressing because the brown butter pistachio was delicious. - baklava froyo 3/5 - i'll bump this up to three because my husband liked it more than I did, but I was very disappointed by this dessert. The Greek yogurt was sour as to be expected, but instead of having actual baklava or pistachio flavor to balance it out, it basically just tasted like they dumped simple syrup on it and it was like a sour ice cream with just pure sugar drizzle... It really didn't come together for me. Overall, the service was really good and our waiter was very sweet. Also, our wine was delicious and the zucchini chips and fish spread were good, so maybe we would come for appetizers and drinks, but I definitely wouldn't return for a Greek dinner with the other options we have in the city.

I opted for the chicken kalamata dinner for the main event, which came with more french bread and a salad. The salad came out first, and it was pretty simple with minimal dressing. I wished there had been more variety in produce and something besides iceberg lettuce for greens. I'd recommend getting some feta on the side to add some flavor. The chicken, however, was absolutely outstanding. It was super tender, seasoned beautifully with za'atar, and brined in vinegar (I think). When I asked to be seated at one of those tables, we were told they were reserved for bigger parties. The table they sat us at was for 4 people; as were the ones supposedly being saved for a bigger party. I accepted the table because at that point was too frustrated to push back. Our waiter was friendly; however more concerned with asking us if we wanted more drinks, than taking the dirty dishes off the table. He rarely came back to the table. When we finally got our check he informed me that 20% gratuity was included. At that point I was so flustered I did not push back. This gratuity was definitely not earned and explains why he was not inspired to take care of us.
