Awesome place with great food and a nice view. Ithaca Beer Company feels like a step up from your typical bar/brewery restaurant, but still maintains the authentic atmosphere of a local establishment. Their food is fresh and unique, and they pride themselves on their locally-sourced menu. We came for a late lunch on a weekend and there were a good number of people there, but were sat immediately and had prompt service throughout the meal. In addition to their regular menu, they had a solid set of daily specials, including pizzas, salads, and other dishes. Being a brewery, they have a great beer menu and overall everything is very reasonably priced. All of the food portion sizes are large, and great for sharing. We ordered the fry flight, which came with a big basket of crispy fries and three delicious sauces. For our table of 4, I was surprised at how many fries they gave us, but definitely no complaints about that! I started with a cup of the cheddar ale soup, which wasn't too heavy, but still nice and thick and flavorful. I ordered the special salad of the day, which had fennel, granola, and poached apples on top of mixed greens, which I thought was a unique and delicious combination. Again, the portions were large, and between the main and the appetizers, I was plenty full with leftovers to spare. The atmosphere of place is casual and fun. It was sunny when we came, and the large windows that outlook the patio and field in the back let in a lot of light and made the whole place bright and warm. There's a shuffleboard table you can get pucks to play, and overall the ambience is really nice. Stopped here for dinner after a day of exploring Ithaca. It was packed on a Saturday night around 6:30pm. There was a 30min wait for a table so we got a flight of beer from the bar and found a seat outside while we waited for a table. The atmosphere is awesome both inside and out. There's a full bar inside with 10+ Ithaca beers on tap. High top tables on one side and regular tables on the other. Outside there's a fire pit with chairs, tons of seating with umbrellas, picnic tables, and a tent you can purchase chips and salsa all overlooking a beautiful field. It's also very family friendly. There were a few little league teams having dinner and kids playing in the field while we were here. I ordered the white pizza. Garlic herb oil, fontina cheese, wood oven roasted broccoli & banana peppers. The pizza dough is made with NY organic flour and cooked in their wood-fired oven. It's a small pizza but can easily be shared by two people. It was delicious. You can not go wrong ordering the pizza! My friend got a burger and said she was a little disappointed. I mentioned to the waitress it was my friends birthday and she came out with a bowl of icecream with a candle. It was a nice touch! A really great spot for beer and food! My family and I came here on Easter Sunday after a hike in Ithaca for lunch, and Ithaca Beer co was a great place to warm up and eat. I ordered the harvest pizza and it was SO good- Brussels sprouts, butternut squash, apples, and pesto. We also ordered a beer flight which was good, also it was only $7 (maybe Bay Area has really conditioned me to expect much higher prices bc wow) My family also enjoyed the fry flight - it was a huge basket of fries with three different dipping sauces- I personally really liked the house ketchup as it was closer to a marinara sauce? But in a pleasant way. My only reservation with this restaurant is how strong the garlic/etc stays in your breath for the rest of the day lol Service was good, ambiance was nice. This was a nice end to our day trip to Ithaca. We found it fairly easily on our way out of downtown. This is a big tasting room with a large yard/patio to enjoy your brews in. We sat at the bar. My husband got a flight and I had a taster of their specialty tap. I guess each week they tap a beer they are trying out for feedback. Ours was pretty good. I did not drink another beer but had the root beer float made with non-alcoholic root beer and purity ice cream. It was really yummy and refreshing! We had great servers and nice conversation with other patrons. IBC seems to be a staple in the community and I'd come back as I loved the float and he loved the flight. read more

Dining outside here is a zen-like experience- rolling green hills all around, occasional chickens roaming. The food is good, the beer is decent, and, as others have noted, their root beer is downright amazing (and available at Wegmans!) THE FOOD. People come here for the beer, but THE FOOD! The pork belly sandwich is an absolute must try, my girlfriend and I both find it nearly impossible to order anything else when we stop in. The flagship beers (flower power, cascazilla, nut brown, etc) are *fine*, but the brewery really shines with their special limited release beers, which I find to typically be significantly better. The sours and seasonal offerings in particular are excellent. In the summer the beer garden outside seating is wonderful if you can swing it, the tables fill up quick, especially at peak hours. Speaking of which, getting a table on a Friday or Saturday night is a hopeless endeavor, be prepared to sit at the bar or stand at a bar table if you're lucky, otherwise you're looking at at least an hour wait in all likelihood. read more

A friend recommended this place as it's close to Buttermilk Falls State Park and Ithaca where we were staying. Arrived around 5 on a Friday and it was packed (tables were still at least 6 feet apart). Their outdoor space is huge and some people brought a picnic blanket to sit on. The apricot beer was so refreshing and their house burger was one of the best burgers I've had in a while. You can taste the char on the outside and the burger was so flavorful. I had the vegan chorizo burger with fries. The fries were bomb and extra salty, which I love. The burger was pretty good but a bit dry. That's ok, as long as there's a good sauce or topping for it. I enjoyed the mayo and slaw, but with there was more of it on the burger. Add some more and I would have given it 5 stars. I enjoyed the vibe and the flatbreads looked great too! This is not a welcoming place for POC, if you do decide to come here just know they are ready to weaponize the police to get their way. Mel Romag is the service manager my group and I unfournately had to deal with. The ID asking is so out of control* - which is fine but considering we are in a pandemic DMV hasn't been exactly great so our friend with an expired ID was declined even though we were served their the night prior and the same day of. Mel brought up expired VISAS making this problem one that's racial. Now, since our friend was getting kicked out we all asked for refunds as we did not touch our food or drink our beer (plus we are four hours away from home) which Mel agreed too but quickly revoked once she realized how incompetent she was to handle 6 different refunds. (She was only addressing the white person in the group, she didn't ask any of us questions about our orders directly) My friend and I tried speaking to Mel on the side and it did not work, ultimately we were escorted off the site by police. Let me make it clear that we were okay with leaving, we were patient and we were trying so hard to be reasonable with Mel. We even offered to write out all of our orders to help with the refunding process. I have reached out to the general manager Mike Wilber who has yet to respond to about two emails regarding this issue. I will send a third one I suppose but the unprofessionalism is outrageous here. This is interesting as they continue to block my social media platform calling them out on this situation. I wish I could say this was an overreaction but just by suppressing us I have now come to the understanding that they do this often. Instead of dealing with the fact that there is racism happening in this establishment they rather block you, ignore emails, and even mark serious Yelp reviews as "Funny". So if you are all confused as to why people aren't saying anything - they are trying to but Ithaca Beer Co is actively suppressing any racist allegations. I'm sorry for those who continue to support this place. I hope yall will unblock us, refund us, and take accountability - Ithaca is supposed to be a town full of progression but I don't see that anywhere at Ithaca Beer Co. ITHACA BEER CO DO BETTER. BIPOC ARE NOT WELCOMED HERE. I came here with a group of friends to enjoy some beers before taking the 3hr trip back home and experienced the worst service. The night before we came here for some beers and enjoyed ourselves. We came back the next day thinking we would receive the same service and instead faced racism from Mel (the manager at this establishment) We were asked for ID as soon as we walk into the brewery and with no issue we are seated. One of the girls in our group goes inside to order her drink and is turned away because her ID is expired, which is strange because she was served here the night before. She is told by Mel that they don't accept expired visas, insinuating that she's an immigrant. We order food and drinks outside with no problem. Mel then approaches the table and tells our friend she needs to go. We all drove to Ithaca together and there was no way we were going to make our friend wait outside alone. Instead we politely ask for a refund for the food and drinks we did not consume but paid for. Which Mel said she would gladly do. She comes back and addresses the only white person in our group, asking her who ordered what. As if we weren't right in front of her. Nel then changes her mind and decides to call the cops on us. Is this how you treat your customers? We were no threat at all, we just wanted our money back. We paid for a service that we didn't receive, I'm not sure why the cops were called other than because we are Hispanic. I'm sure this would have played out worse if we didn't have a white person with us. Honestly, disappointed by the way management handled this situation. Don't waste your money here and support other breweries. UPDATE: the founder Dan Mitchell reached out with a very vague email, we responded requesting refunds. still no refund. It has now been 3 weeks. For someone like the founder to ignore a racial discrimination at their establishment is disappointing. I work in the service industry so I will never write a bad review over wait or having my order messed up. But here we are.... if I could give this place -100000 stars I would. We came in with a group for self service bought a lot of food and drinks and topped 25%. We were actually there the night before and had a good time. One of my friends has an expired ID (1 year expiration) they served us the night before because the ID was real and obviously Hers (we're all over age 24-29) We had a good time so decided to go the next day. One of the bartenders denied her because he asked his manager (Mel) if it was okay to serve regardless (she didn't even look at the ID) so She bought her drink instead at the outdoor bar. The manager started spying our table and asked her to leave which we were complying with. She told us she would give us a refund and bc she didn't want to anymore SHE CALLED THE COPA ON US. Came here with my family originally just for a beer but after seeing the beer tasting menu and food menu, we decided to stay and really enjoy the full Ithaca Beer Company experience. My parents ordered the harvest pizza and white pizza and loved them. I ordered the F.P. Burger which was so good, especially with the flower power mustard. We ordered several beer flights to try and our unanimous favorite was the Apricot Wheat Beer with the Raspberry Soiree coming in as a close second. Highly recommend! read more

I originally wanted to give 4 stars because the food and drinks were truly phenomenal, but the blonde waitress who gave us our check and stated they needed the table was a bit rude. What made me drop another star, is my family and I went outside to finish our drinks and about 15 minutes later I went inside to use the bathroom. From drinking Ithaca Beer Co beers in the Philly area for a while now, it was cool to finally go and check out the brewery. The place itself, is ginormous, as I was kind of expecting, given the reach they now have. Their outdoor area is larger than their inside, in addition to a summer beergarden tent. After a morning hike at Watkins Glen, we were famished and ready for some food and drinks. After waiting about 15-20min, we were escorted to a table outside. They have bar seating, as well as tables inside, but we opted on waiting for an outside table. The outside was bustling, with people lunch'ing at the tables, drinking out in the grassy area and playing some lawn games. Feels like a great spot to chill on a nice afternoon. I wanted to try some of their beers I've never had/heard of before, and ended up getting a flight - Happy Pils, Green Trail, Midnight Sun, and White Gold. My favorite was probably Happy Pils and Green Trail (which I've had before). The Midnight Sun is dark, but is really smooth and doesn't feel heavy. The White Gold was probably my least favorite, as it was pretty thick/heavy, but still a solid beer. We split the vegan burger and the garden pizza. The burger was grilled nicely, but pretty dry...there's not sauce on the burger itself, so make sure to add some. The pizza was light, but filling, and a perfect complement to what we were craving. I really wish my experiences here were better. I'd love to love it but it falls flat. Good French fries. We arrived on a Friday eve at 6:20. It was busy but not wildly so. We waited for over an hour to sit at the table and then another 45 min before any food came. Other tables were in and out. We had 4 adults in our party. The manager didn't seem to care at all, and I will quote him: "Expect to be here more than 2 hours." Fine. But he didn't add "Expect to be here almost 2 hours before you get to eat." We stopped in here mainly to get some Ginger Beer, which is pretty great. They do let you try beer, but we decided to order a flight and some fries. Pretty chill atmosphere, with a bunch of games to play, and the fries were tasty. The beers were also quite good, though we ended up not bringing any back. The packaging on the one that I might have wanted (White Gold) was a big bottle, and it would be hard to finish it all at once. I suppose it could have worked for sharing.
