Whenever we make the trip to New Hope I always hope that we get to eat at Italian Cucina. If our timing aligns, which is rare, (it's closed two days out of the week and opens in the evening for dinner) we love to stop in. It's a small eatery, shoulder to shoulder dining when it's busy. The staff are always very nice, albeit a bit slow due during peak dinner times. Plus, they're BYO! The food is the star here, the bread to start is fresh and delicious served with a fragrant olive oil. We usually go for some family sized appetizers as well, the long hot pepper is a favorite of ours. The bolognese is my favorite dish but anything served with their delicious red sauce is satisfying to my palate! My husband has had the clams and the pork chop which were both hits as well. Hope to stop in soon!

Came down to visit friends in New Hope for the day and had this trip planned. Reservations are a must for a Saturday night so I made them well in advance. What can I say the restaurant has an awesome reputation, great food, every dish was perfect, very attentive and friendly service which starts with the manager Colleen. Everything is perfectly orchestrated from the decor, charm, amenities, the bar area although it's BYOB, cleanliness, vibe, even the entrance is welcoming with a chiminea. Had the Burrata salad and Shrimp On Fire for an appetizer. These are shareable and family style for under $20. Main course was the scallops over pasta and scungilli (conch) over homemade spaghetti and marinara sauce. All the dishes were bursting with flavor, are super fresh and served at the perfect temperature. Prices are good, deserts, coffee and tea are downright cheap! $3 for coffee or tea and $$5.95 for a desert. Try finding that in New York City. No bakery or coffee shop can match that. I can honestly say come eat here and enjoy yourself. I highly recommend Italian Cucina.

The ambiance is very nice, but the food is rather mediocre. For such a lovely interior, that was a disappointment. The bread served beforehand was very good, as well as the dinner salad. However, my dining partner was still hungry after his meal. He had Linguine with Clams, but said it should've been called Clams with Linguine. It's not that a lot of clams is a bad thing, there was just not enough pasta for him and he mentioned still being hungry when he finished. He is not a big eater. I had the Scungilli dish over spaghetti, and it was a bit too spicy for my liking. The dishes were way overpriced. $70+ for 2 noodle dishes with no apps or drinks is a bit ridiculous. There was only one other table in there, so we understood why. Also know that there are not a lot of choices for those who don't eat meat. If you're pescatarian, there are a couple choices. Vegetarians or vegans will not be happy here.

Oof. Had a hard time rating this because there are pros and cons but ultimately I wouldn't come back without some changes. Things to know if you read no further 1) it's BYOB 2) it's expensive for the quality 3) don't go if the chef/owner is having a bad night 4) maybe just stick to the pasta dishes We stop in New Hope regularly on our drive from MD to NY to have a nice meal. This was our first time at Italian Cucina - excited to see they were open later than other places on a Sunday and had great reviews (maybe others have had better experiences). We found them after researching on Google reviews and Yelp. Pros: - lovely setting, bar is beautiful large countertop lots of romantic (votive) candles -rigatoni was good; would not purchase again for the price (would not pay those prices for that dish in NYC) but it was good -servers really seemed to be trying despite the general situation and hand they were dealt -cute little street we hadn't been down before, lovely decor /atmosphere (phantom of the opera music playing was a bit cheesy but generally atmosphere is very nice) Cons - Wow. The chef/owner. Apparently he was having a bad night but he felt unprofessional on multiple levels 1) complaining about the amount of work he was doing that others on staff should be doing - no doubt a head chef shouldn't also be cleaning up the flood in the hallway but the language and tone of language to other colleagues was inappropriate especially with the server telling him multiple times others could hear. 2) despite the language etc while he was at the bar cleaning up while we had our meal - no sort of acknowledgment, how is your meal? Thanks for coming ... 3) near the end of the night he and a server were talking about covers in front of us- not crazy but gave the impression given our experience he cared more about numbers than experience... - food is pricey for quality. Fig salad came out with dressing squeezed on in z shapes instead of benign tossed- also $20 for the salad was steep, $5 up charge for rigatoni we split despite splitting bc we weren't all that hungry; shrimp arrived in a sort of cereal bowl with sauce - not much flavor despite being called "fire shrimp"; did actuality think the rigatoni was good but not for $37 (with the upcharge) - if you're an Italian restaurant you have to have good coffee. Period. The nespresso was disappointing. TBH we might give this place another shot with better coffee and sitting further away from the chef. The server did go above and beyond to make sure we were happy with coffee with what she was working with but it Was still disappointing to have nespresso as the option. They also had flooding on the way to the toilet. While that was annoying given everything else happening I'll assume that was a one off so this review doesn't consider that... We'd come back for the following - 1) chefs attitude shift/professionalism 2) real coffee 3) reasonable prices and change the sharing upcharges, felt like we had to split everything and then on the main we got up charged for sharing

Place was awesome. We came here because of the reviews that we saw. And man did it live up to the hype. The staff was extremely nice and accommodating. They made it clear they want you to have an experience while eating. Food wise, it was exceptional. We did the sausage app and the scallops app to start with. Both were great. I got the pork chop for an entree, it was the best pork chop I've ever had. My girlfriend got the rigatoni and that was very good as well. We left stuffed and fully satisfied. We liked it so much that we are coming back the next night. Also - their lemonchello is unreal.

The staff is wonderful and the food is delish. It is always a nice experience dining at IC.

Small portions, high prices. Appetizers are served "family style" but are portioned and priced for parties of two. If you are dining with more than two people, they increase the price (do not tell you by how much) and keep the sizes the same. The clam appetizer was really good, but I was only able to have 4 clams because we split the "family style" serving among 5 people, so no one was able to truly enjoy it. Our "family style" burrata salad left us fighting for pieces of prosciutto, tomatoes, and burrata because each person was able to get 1-2 of each. The flavors were really good but there was simply not enough of anything to fully enjoy our dinner. Two appetizers, 5 entrees, and 3 soda put me out $215 before tip. I have no plans to return anytime soon.

After a few minutes, they said they could squeeze us in. It felt a bit odd -- the space isn't very large, so you'd expect the dining room to be easier to manage. We shared the burger and the carbonara. Both dishes were underwhelming, especially given the expectations we had for this spot. The burger was on the bland side, and the carbonara was made with store‑bought noodles, which took away from the dish. While the food missed the mark, the dining area itself is very nice and the service was great.

It's a place that feels special and welcoming, great for a night out with friends or a date. We started strong with the appetizers--the meatballs and burrata were excellent. Flavorful, well-prepared, and a great way to kick off the meal. Unfortunately, things took a nosedive when we got to the main course. My friend ordered the lasagna, and his verdict was harsh but honest: it reminded him of high school cafeteria food. I ordered the New York strip steak, and I can only describe it as awful--tough, flavorless, and poorly presented (photo attached if you're reading this somewhere that allows images). Thankfully, dessert helped redeem the experience. Everything we tried was delicious, beautifully done, and left a great final impression. Bottom line: Taverna 54 is worth visiting for its appetizers, drinks, and desserts. Skip the mains. With such a beautiful setting and solid service, it's a shame the entrees don't live up to the rest of the experience.

When you walk in there is sort of a vestibule before the dining room, but it felt as if we had actually come in by the wrong door -- I'm still not sure. Either the front door is well hidden or the entrance is not very welcoming, and there was no one there to greet us. Once seated, however, the atmosphere was charming. We had some light trouble communicating with the staff. It wasn't at all clear who the three different people who visited our table were. The youngest one, in particular, spoke so fast and low that it was difficult to follow him, and even though the room was relatively quiet. The food made up for some of our difficulties. The cioppino, in particular, was excellent, even if it didn't contain exactly the items listed in the menu; it's the nature of the dish. Once we had our meals, everything was quite agreeable. The food was great; the rest of the experience kind of 'mid.' It seemed that if we were regulars, already acquainted with the idiosyncrasies of the place, we would have been more comfortable, but as first-timers it was all a bit discomfiting. I suppose would go back again, but it hasn't won it's way into a spot among my favorites.

Staff is very professional and friendly, always making sure everyone is having a good time. Honestly, all the food is great here but some of my favorites are definitely the carpaccio and calamari appetizer (the calamari is the BEST I ever had, hands down) and their coffee panacota for dessert is also out of this world, just amazing! For appetizers, we got zucchini chips, fried calamari and mussels. The calamari was fried too hard and it had a very salty, spicy Chilean type sauce over it. The zucchini chips were thinly sliced, lightly battered with Parmesan cheese sprinkled over them. They were decent but nothing to write home about. In fact, after having about six or seven of the zucchini chips I began to experience heartburn from the grease. For entrees, my husband had the chicken parm. He said it was too thick and should have been flattened more before frying. It was also very breaded. My brother-in-law ordered the chicken and waffles and he said the chicken tasted day old so after having a bite of one piece of the chicken he pushed the chicken aside and called it a day. I called the waiter over and informed him about the chicken tasting day old. He didn't try to change it out or take it off the bill or get a manager. He just apologized by saying I'm sorry. My crab Mac and Cheese was decent. It wasn't seasoned the way I would have liked but the huge, plentiful chunks of crab made up for that. I ate a third of my dish and packed the rest for home where I will doctor it up to my taste. I've never been to this particular restaurant before. The only reason we came today is because my brother-in-law was here on business and staying at a hotel in the area.
