I'm guessing there was a new chef ... the date Sunday march 22. I'm telling you right now... I'm sure that's a different chef, it was bad. Everyone at the table was trying to be nice. Whoever was the chef tonight was very friendly but the food sucked big time. The calamari was barely fried. Everything fried was barely fried. Like soggy under done. So all the apps had that soggyness. Every dish came with pasta and all The pasta was over cooked ... mushy. The bar is held much higher for the price. We're in New Jersey as well. Our first night here and it's was Fantastic, we both ordered Chicken Parmigiana, we received garlic bread with a hummus dip that was delicious. The service and attentiveness were great, also everyone was so pleasant and friendly which made for a comfortable atmosphere. It's a byob so we were able to bring our favorite wine and then were served our chicken parm that was so delicious and would definitely recommend it. Friends and I went to Broadmoor last night. We have been fans for years. Broadmoor reopened in the last few days and we were all excited to what has changed. We viewed the menu beforehand, which is still limited as before, but it looked delicious. The interior hasn't changed much and the staff was very attentive. Some of us got the Caesar salad. It was very fresh but the Caesar had little garlic, anchovy paste, or really any flavor. Four out of six of our party had pasta as our main. We were shocked at the meager portion. First, the pasta dishes were delicious themselves. However, we received a very small mound in a soup dish (no exaggeration, I'd say it was the size of a snowball). We couldn't believe what we were getting for $29. One in our party got the chicken Parm. We are in a lovely Italian restaurant and it was served w French fries! To say we were disappointment was an understatement. We are a group of seniors and love Lambertville and all the wonderful restaurants, which very much has always included Broadmoor. Sadly, this restaurant will not survive unless they work on their portions. We were all still hungry when we left and went to get ice cream on Bridge Street. As we were at the counter, and still talking about our disappointment, a party of 5 came in. They politely interrupted and asked if we were just at Broadmoor. They felt the exact same disappointment and agreed that they would not go back unless they heard that the portions increaseed significantly. We paid for a full order and literally got what any reasonable restaurant would consider only a third of a plate. We are old fans of the Broadmoor, but sadly know there must be change to survive. read more

The Broadmoor has an excellent location near the heart of Lambertville. It is a smaller, more upscale Italian restaurant with an open kitchen for folks to glance at how their meal is prepared. Overall, it is a very nice, clean environment with good food and wait staff. Our take away impression was: over priced for Italian fare and much too loud (the interior needs noise deading materials installed). Parking in that area of Lambertville is always a headache as well. Worth visiting once as we did, too many other Italian restaurants that are better for less. read more

I had to get up and ask for clean wine glasses. Ambiance was tight but nice. The kitchen is right in front of you. Just went here tonight and ordered the chicken parm amongst many other items including Caesar, calamari, lemon cake, and Tiramisu. Let me say, as a customer of Broadmoor over the last few years, the service and food has only gotten better under new management. Danny and Alyssa were wonderful and truly brought top scale hospitality with the amazing food the served. We met the chef as well, who was a wonderful guy from Italy. Overall a spectacular experience and i found the chicken parm to be 10/10 and comparable to ones I've actually ate in Rome when i lived there. I would say the biggest change is the restaurant is truly italian now whereas before the identity was a bit mixed in terms of foods. Came back here after a year as I was invited by my friends who own a business in New Hope. This experience was better although there are still some things I had mentioned and there were similarities in this experience and was mentioned by Erin in her review about 7 months ago. Pros: Great location, excellent food, BYOB, nice decor and mostly friendly staff. Cons: Limited menu choices, the menu was hand written although was hard to read. From what I can see and reading another review after mine that mentions the owner being too interested in turning tables over still exists. I can't understand why the waitress refused to take our order unless we gave them the starters and the dinner together?? We shared a few starters which was the heirloom salad with mozzarella, and the meatballs. For mains we had the the salmon, chicken parmigiana, the NY strip steak, the pasta special, linguini Fra Diavolo and the ravioli. For desert we shared the banana ice cream, the cheesecake and the chocolate mousse. All in all I would still recommend them and feel the pros out way the cons. A Bean Spread along with some bread was brought to the table as we waited for our appetizer. It was very good. There were 3 of us and we shared the delicious and tender Grilled Octopus with Fingerling Potatoes, Olives and Lemon. A great start. The "winner"of the night was the Prosciutto Fresh Pasta with thicker than usual slices of prosciutto with house made pasta, asparagus, mushrooms and roasted garlic - amazing! The Seafood Linguini contained a delicious assortment of Shrimp, Scallops, Mussels and Clams in a red sauce. We had to ask for additional bread to soak up the sauce. The unusual sounding Grilled Swordfish with Mint Sauce was a little on the disappointing side, with, for me, the sauce overwhelming the taste of the fish. Good but ... We shared the Chocolate Brownie with a Carmel Sauce and scoop of Ice Cream. Again, delicious. Before tip, the bill per person was around $45 - very reasonable for such a delicious meal. Be sure and get it spicy! It was a very quiet night and so few there, albeit it was a Thursday. We really need to rally around this place before we lose it. My name is Howard and I came in to do a job for this restaurant on one of the hottest days of the year. The job required me to work in the scorching heat to complete the installation and I was feeling so weak from heat exhaustion that the host of this business was gracious enough to offer me water and a meal to get my strength back. I was very greatful for her kindness and the meal was definitely A1 Quality. I definitely will be coming back when in the area again. If you think about other Italian establishments in the area you get so much more. The inside of the place is very nice but small. Our family had salads which were good and a nice portion after that it went down hill. Two of us ordered chicken parm and the others seafood dishes. They liked their meals but the potions were very small. Now the chicken parm... OMG, awful... Came out cold, but the FRENCH FRIES were hot. French fries, even diners serve pasta! We ordered a side of pasta and it was drowning in red pepper. Wow, just horrible. That is not the pasta that should come out with chicken parm. Now for the parm. We were both nice and did not post to NJ chicken parm ratings. The meal would have been slammed. It was horrible. Served cold, and looked like a chicken patty you get from a box of OnCor. Yes OnCor. It took forever for our server to come back. At one point I started eating because we had not eaten all day. When the server arrived which I had to ask for her, she simply said you should have sent this back right away! Well I tried, you didn't check on us. It had to be the worst meal I ever had. Our family members ate theirs because they too didn't want to wait. I am sorry but french fries on a plate with a tiny, tiny chicken patty is pathetic. I don't care if this is a trend, for 27.00 dollars I will go to another establishment. The meal was taken off, Shame on the server for not checking with us to see how the meal was. I rarely have sent back a meal over the years but this meal was just horrible. Thank you for making it right and taking it off the bill but the experience was one we talked about after. I really would prefer a good crusty Italian bread, not the whole wheat, oat encrusted, molasses laden bread we were served. Having said that I will return. I would probably give it a 3.5 if you could on Yelp. This is the second time we have been to Broadmoor. The place is spacious with an open kitchen and old world charm. It is very noisy and at times had to keep repeating ourselves. Our server was great and paced the meal out perfectly. Don't forget the cash only gratuity, which we did. Thankfully the other couple we dined with had enough to cover. Our salads were good. Beet and orange, Caesar, and a cucumber with grilled octopus. The entrees are what brought the meal rating down. The over sauced pasta, made the pasta congeal, leaving a heavy ball of mush at the bottom of the dish. I would have expected some restraint. The coconut tart was delicious. Great app choices had the beet salad & oranges drizzled with balsamic, feta crumbles and pumpkin seeds! Yum!! Definitely enjoyed it and plate shared. Here's the deal, so I really love bolognese sauce. There's only a few ingredients but ya really need to break down the ground meats. Make it velvety. The 1st time I came to Broadmoor I ordered this & loved it and it's why I came back. They didn't disappoint, but tonight I felt the sauce could have been refined just a bit more. Wanted that velvet. The Vodka rigs were good but could have added a bit more crème. The pastas were amazing. Cooked perfect. Limited meat selection if you're meat eaters but I'm Sure you'll find something to enjoy. Had not been here for a few years. Excellent BYOB place in the past. The visit this time was not favorable. When I arrived, I confirmed with the waitress that they took credit cards for payment. We ordered garlic bread as an appy, and chicken parm and shrimp fradiavolo as entrees. I requested a different pasta with the shrimp dish. The appy was different but pretty good. When the main dishes came, the shrimp came with the pasta on the menu, not the pasta I requested. The shrimp were overcooked and quite tough. The chicken parm dish was mediocre at best. When the check came it included a note that gratuities were 'cash only,' particularly annoying because I asked about credit cards when I arrived. We didn't have enough cash with us for a tip, and I refused to pay a local bank $3-$4 dollars for use of their ATM (my bank would have charged the same on the back end). Service was just OK by the waitress, and excellent by the runner. We will not be returning anytime soon. read more

My husband and I have frequently been getting take out from here. Yes, its expensive, but the portions are big enough for the two of us to split a meal and make a vegetable side at home. Plus, they throw in complimentary bread and the tastiest bean dip to go with the meal! My favorite is the eggplant parm(which we got just last night-delicious!), but I have tried many dishes from the Broadmoor, including the vodka sauce and meat sauce with pasta and everything is always on point. I like that the chicken they use is organic and beef is grass fed. This is definitely more of a sit down place than a take out spot, but I'm pregnant and have been preferring my meals eaten on a couch in my pajamas. Expect more take out orders and keep up the great work! read more

My husband and I come to Lambertville quite often but had never eaten at the Broadmore Restaurant before anddecided to give it a try. We had a table reserved at 5:30pm and when we got there the restaurant was empty but for one table. I jokingly said to my husband, where would you like to sit? So the woman, who turned out to be the owner said, I will tell you where you'll sit, all the way in the back. Come with me. Wow, that was rude. It gets better, there are only two servers, the owner and her daughter, so be prepared to wait! I ordered the escargot as an appetizer and my husband ordered the chicken liver mousse. The escargot were on top of a crust that was swimming in oil, the escargot were old, tasted musty and just simply gross. I gave them back. My husband's appetizer was ok, but he has an iron stomach. The main course for my husband was eggplant on top of spaghetti with some kind of spicy sauce. His dish looked like something you could get in a cafeteria. My Branzino was a small piece of fish that consisted mostly of greasy skin surrounded by some frozen and defrosted vegetables like you get in a big bag from Costco. Completely without flavor. I picked a bit but left most of this slop on my plate. When we were leaving, most of the people who had now arrived were waiting for service from those two ladies - good luck. Good to great restaurant with a classy dining experience and an excellent space. Broadmoor is located on a hip street in Lambertville, which is admittedly overshadowed by the resurgent New Hope these days. It felt good to support an independent restaurant such as Broadmoor, especially as it competes against the vestiges of the coronavirus and bigger boys across the way, such as Stella and Odette's on the River. Parking, as you know, can be a bit tight in Lambertville on weekends, however, there are a few public lots and those in the know are aware of a few more auspicious areas in which to snag a spot. The ambiance is great. Very open with some al fresco dining but otherwise the dining room is open in the spring/summer all out front and there are beautiful french doors in the back which opens up the otherwise rustic dining room. The room and vibe is elegant Italian. Everyone was dressed well. This is not a shorts and t-shirt place. BYOB too so some creative choices of des vins. Service is prompt and attentive. All servers are well masked and shielded. The dinner menu is updated daily and features a pleasant panoply of salads and charcuteries before a host of entrees spotlighting pasta dishes. They seem to have one homemade pasta option of the evening and otherwise are known for their seafood linguinis. Since this is still America the proportions are large and the plates veer to the buttery side. I enjoyed the salads especially as an opener and there was a colorful profusion of colors and flavors in my salmon crab imperial entree. I thought they did vegetables very well. Everything was cooked well and although I wouldn't consider this haute cuisine by any measure it' is an upscale dining experience in an overall enjoyable environment. read more

This is a rather small venue with high ceilings, hard floors and walls making the ambience loud after reaching capacity of 49 bodies. Particularly if alcohol is being consumed. You know what I mean. Not a complaint just a point to note. Food: Excellent quality and value, large portions and well prepared. Service: Good. With one more experienced server and one more busser (maybe to man the coffee bar) the service would be very good to excellent. The service was not bad but they are understaffed IMHO. Menu is a la carte which is appealing to many but not all. The salads and apps are large and can be shared. The sides, not so much. I had Eggplant Parm over angel hair pasta which is one of my favorites anywhere. This was a very good rendition with the eggplant being thinly sliced with a light, crispy breading, maybe panko. My Queen had the lamb shank over mashed potatoes which she said was delicious. Coffee was just ok and was cold upon arrival. Not to worry though. After a quick trip to the microwave it was steaming hot. Buyer beware. I would go back. read more

Honestly, no difference between this food and what you can get at a corner take out place. Okay, now for the reviews. The chick pea spread and bread is okay, but expensive at $8. We ordered it because the old restaurant used to give out freely as a starter. The chicken liver mousse was the best thing we ordered. The veal parm was bland and the sauce was dry and flavorless. Tiramisu was gritty. Honestly, maybe we hit it on a bad night, but the dining room was not busy. Unfortunately I will have to remember how it used to be, but that's alright. read more

We didn't have a reservation and at first were told we wouldn't be able to get a table when we stopped in at the last minute on a beautiful autumn Saturday night. Not surprising, but we figured we'd give it a try. We left a cell number "just in case," knowing that was a long shot, and proceeded to buy a bottle of wine and roam Lambertville in search of another restaurant. Then the Broadmoor called. We returned and were seated right away. The dinner was AMAZING! I loved everything, and the chef has some very creative dishes on the menu. The vibe is very chic and comfortable there.
