One of the oldest Pizzerias in Lambertville and conveniently located in the heart of the downtown area. Have enjoyed many different styles of pizza from here. Walked in and was about to grab something quick to eat when i heard one of the workers ,frustrated from an order not made, start rudely babbling. Not only did she use the R slur but also referred to another worker as special needs simply because the order was not prepared. I understand frustration in the workplace but being sure to have a clear head and especially being attentive when customers are around is important. This isnt the 1900s anymore. Definitely made me lose my appetite and didnt continue with my purchase nor will i return, that type of attitude does not deserve my money. read more

Pizza slices were mediocre. The place in general was not welcoming. Sooo many rules. Most tables had reserved signs on them, counter had a sign that said " No dirty dishes" , the bathrooms said out of order but not really. They had a lock code for the bathroom door. Just so many " don'ts and No's ". They also charge for fountain soda refills. ‍ We got some cookies for desert and they were really bad. Tasted like Walmart cookies. One bite and then to the trash. This is the second and last time I will attempt to patronize and subsequently walk out of this place. Having a lot of food allergies, I know I can't take the preservatives found in most restaurant and grocery store subs and rolls . On the menu they had a homemade focaccia and we saw it in the case, and I asked about it being home made, from scratch. - great-so I wouldn't have to worry about preservatives. So I asked to substitute out the roll on the sand which I would order for focaccia, seeing that other sandwiches on the menu were served on that bread, and what I got back was No, I can't or- won't- do that. Nothing about if it would cost more, which I easily would have paid, but it was a No with attitude, and a subsequent mumbling that the sandwich would fall apart or be soggy or something ridiculous. Wouldn't that be my concern to worry about? My boyfriend was disgusted with the tone with which the resounding NO was delivered and the lack of customer service so we bolted. Won't be back. We make frequent day trips to New Hope, PA and Lambertville, NJ from Manhattan by car. It's one of our favorite road trip destinations and less than a 2-hour drive from the city. However, we've always found the restaurants in New Hope to be too seasonal and inconsistent and so we began searching in Lambertville. We finally found a keeper! We happened upon Giuseppe's for lunch and it was so good that we returned for dinner. No frills, family run, excellent home-cooked pasta dishes, pizze, salads and you can bring your own bottle of wine with no corking fee! Alessandra was our server for dinner and Joanne served our lunch. Both were super friendly and efficient. Chef Mark even remembered us, which is always a nice touch! The food was delicious. I went there Jan 27th the night before my mother's funeral. I had no appetite but had to eat. I ended up spending about 60 dollars in takeout. The service was excellent thc place was spotless. Everything was . I even stopped in on the day me and my sister drove back to Maryland. Simple, well-executed and utterly unpretentious, this place has been a favorite for many years. The staff is friendly and efficient, the pizza is always hot, the crust is crispy. The specials--one of them is pictured--are never overpriced. I came with a friend who was a regular when she lived in the area...As I entered and walked up to the front counter I was greeted by a friendly girl behind the counter who remembered my friend and asked if they should make the usual shrimp and linguine. It had been awhile so I was pleasantly surprised our server remembered...The restaurant itself was very clean and neat several pictures on the wall..The kitchen was open style you could see the chef preparing our food. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan with Linguine. It came with hot fresh Garlic Bread... I was given a very large piece of chicken breast breaded and tons of melted mozzarella cheese over a bed of linguine done al dente with extra sauce..My chicken was moist and tender inside and crispy outside...The chicken and sauce reminded me of an Italian restaurant my parents and I frequented every week as I was growing up... Everything had great flavor... I only ate half because the portion was large... My friend got Sautéed Shrimp over Linguine... The dish was also a nice size with lots of shrimp, and marinara sauce no skimping...The garlic bread was toasted lightly and was a perfect accompaniment . Giuseppe's is a BYOB . I always love that because you can bring in exactly what you want to drink.. They serve soda, and Pellegrino. In the main dining room are about 10 tables.On the other side were more tables and a little more private. In one of the front cases was 5-6 pizzas, each one had different toppings...in another case was all different miniature pastries and tarts. In the last case was an assortment of all kinds of Italian cookies. Above that there was espresso machine and coffeemaker. I thought the prices were reasonable for this area.. This place tends to get busy around dinner time. They also have take out. When I return to Lambertville I will definitely stop back in and try another dish or pizza. read more

On 3/26/23 me, my parents, my boyfriend AND my SERVICE DOG decided to come to lambertville for the first time to walk around & grab something to eat. we decided to try giuseppe's and the first thing the lady behind the counter says is "here's the menus" then she proceeds to say "no dogs are allowed in here" in a VERY nasty way. my dad and i both said at the same time telling her she's a service dog and she replies with her hand up "okay calm yourselves." we all walked out right away... whoever this lady is needs to learn how to treat customers and talk to them the right way. if i could leave no stars i would. read more

Pizza was good. Hawaiian pizza was good but crust was very thin (had to cut it to eat it) and it came with onions which was odd. Calamari was ok but maybe frozen. Had to pay for soda refills. Worst veal parm I have ever had in my entire life, I think they microwaved the meat. Partially my fault when they asked the kitchen if they served veal so chewy I threw it out. Bathroom out of service. Ambiguity on whether you had to take your table service trash out or not. Not nice and semi bitchy, clearly did not want to be there. It's a beautiful Saturday afternoon in mid-September. Lambertville is crawling with people. We were starting to get hungry for lunch and came to the corner and saw Giuseppe's and said,"Great!" We noted the sign by the door that said "Restrooms for customers only". Excellent. We walked inside and the place was empty. That should have been our first clue considering the mobs in the streets. We also see chairs blocking the entrance to the restrooms. The girl behind the counter took several minutes to ask for out order. We told her what we wanted and asked about the rest rooms to which she replied,"Oh, they're not working"..... ummmm what? You're open from 11am-11pm and NO ONE USES THE BATHROOM DURING THAT TIME?!?! Ugh. We got our pizza quickly but what a waste of calories. Flimsy, soggy, thin crust with oil dripping off it. Stay far away from this place. There are so many cute places in Lambertville and across the bridge in New Hope. Don't wast your time or money. read more

Miserable people run this establishment. The lack of service is offensive. The pizza was doused in oil. I felt nauseous while sitting at the table after eating one slice. After a beautiful day in Lambertville tricker treating with my Grandaughter I wanted to get her something to eat before we left so we went to Giuseppes Ristorante in Lambertville ...I should of walked out when the young lady was rude taking the order I asked do you have plain slices ? She replied do you see any then it's a no !! So I ordered a personal pie and baked ziti and a fountain soda I figured they were busy so I dismissed the rude behavior by the time the food came the baked ziti was half cooked and the pizza was soggy and all the self serve fountain soda were flat I asked for a refund they would not give it back instead of me arguing with them I figured I can take it home and toast the pizza and rebake the Ziti !! So if your not going to refund the money and you wouldn't give me a personal pan pizza box to take it home and they had a whole stack of them on the side instead they gave me a cheap paper plate and a bag when I asked for a box they said no you only get only a paper plate and a bag then the owners son or grandson asked me how many slice you have left ? What does it matter it was more then the paper plate can hold when I told them I wanted a box she threw it at me how cheap can you be times are hard they should be blessed to have a bussiness but instead you threw a box witch lead to other things falling in me and told me to get out. And before I even asked for the takeout box they told a older man the same thing when he asked if there is any slices ? Her reply again was do you see any !! Then he asked are you making more she replied I don't know so what do you want !!!!! And then there were people waiting for the bathroom and the girl tells them if your not eating here go outside and use the bathroom somewhere else and the people had there people in line to order food !! It's unbelievable that these people are even doing any business even with bad food if the people were kind people mite return maybe. So looked forward to visiting Lambertville on Thursday, 10/28/21, to see the amazing Halloween decorations in the neighborhood. Also looked forward to pizza at Giuseppe's. The women who take your order and let you know when it's ready are outright nasty. I hope they decide to sell the business and the new owner keeps the chefs. Such a shame regarding the service. Wonder what Giuseppe would be thinking if he could see the way it's being run! Sooooo sad. Not the first time we were treated poorly by the staff but went back because we like the food. That was our last visit. BTW, when I ordered a coke the girl gave me a cup and said you need to get at at the machine. When I go to use the machine, the Coke is out of order. Pizza is great service is quick but the older woman has an absolute mouth on her. My friend order pizza I was on the way to him so I figured I'd help him out and pick the pizza up. Yes I was there early but as I went up to the counter I had mentioned we called in... she proceeded to use the f bomb a few times saying it wasn't ready. Now it looks like she does this a lot considering her employees look like they get it from her enough. All you can do is kill her with kindness... The place is clean and it's located in downtown Lambertville walking distance from everything. They don't serve alcohol, but you're welcome to BYOB or wine. We have our weekly family (usually Saturday night's) outing at Giuseppe's, here in Lambertville, New Jersey, and Joanne and the staff always provide a pleasant place for us to gather - with their BYOB policy, we enjoy a festive time, excellent background music (usually a nice mix of old classics), and of-course great pizza (from white pizza, vegetarian pizza, and regular red pizza) with all the toppings you want. It would get two stars because of the decor and the music. However, the pizza is terrible. It was so soggy the box was wet. The toppings literally fell off the slices in a messy glob. Additionally, the crust was burned on a quarter of the pie. Would never eat here again. read more

The lady that is behind the counter usually making the pizza is by far the worst person in the world. I went in there one day and was one of the only people in there, she was rolling her eyes and yelling at the kids that work there. She then came to the counter and asked me, "What do you want?" I gave her my order, she literally threw my cold, gross pizza and order of mozzarella sticks on the counter. I said thank you and she didn't respond so I said the nice thing to say is you welcome. I had been meaning to try these guys for a while. We stopped in at 8:30 on a Monday (they close at 9:00) - the waitress was quick to point out that they close in a half hour. I said that we would definitely would be done with the kitchen in a half hour, but may not be done eating - was that going to be a problem? The woman just looked at me with a look that did not even try to conceal her disdain. I have owned restaurants in the past. I would have NEVER turned away that business.
