I'm new to DFW and had a ramen craving. Found this spot and I was not disappointed. The tofu dish was just amazing! The ramen was also very good and having the katsu with it was great. The value here for the amount of food you get is great. I'll definitely be back and if you are considering this spot don't skip it! read more

Holy Kara Miso. I'm overly picky about my ramen broth! I think most ramen connoisseurs are. I ordered a veggie ramen with the spicy miso broth last winter. Then I ordered 3 sides of just the broth and egg later that week. Then I kept doing that over. and over. and over. Then I had to give myself a break Still my go to place! The containers are "door dash safe" so you can tell they don't skimp out on containers. No spilled ramen. That makes me very happy. Definitely my go to spot, even when it's triple digits outside read more

Truthfully I walked into this place with low expectations as I am very picky with my ramen. Best to say, it's not what I call the "greatest ramen" out here in DFW but it definitely exceeded my expectations. To give credit whete it's due, the thing I liked best about my order (Shoyu broth with pork katsu) is the meat! A lot of ramen places make the meat too chewy that it's hard to swallow, or the texture is off. Itadaki does it perfect; the pork was soft & juicy to my liking. The broth was OK, I expected Shoyu to be "thin soup", but it was too watery in my opinion. Noodles were great! I also find it interesting that unlike many places, if you asked for a cup/glass of water, they provide a free water bottle. Personally I can see myself coming back if I'm with a friend. read more

These pictures are catfishing. Food is not good. Chicken Curry: Chicken was overcooked . Rice was bland. Curry was decent, but it's something you can buy premade. Broccoli, egg , carrot, and onion all tasted not fresh. No Bueno ): Ramen: Broth was good but the pork was overcooked and the vegetables tasted not fresh. The noodles also had a weird hard texture read more

super yummy! my boyfriend and i came here the day after the bts concert because we figured the broth would "heal" us, lol. it did exactly that! my boyfriend got the sapporo gara ramen, and his broth was really light but perfect. i got the chicken katsu spicy miso ramen, and it was really balanced in terms of flavor and spice. the chicken was perfectly crispy and seasoned, but not dry. it was juicy enough to eat on its own, but letting it soak up the spicy broth was even better. i much prefer the chicken katsu over charsiu with my ramen. this was the perfect meal to have the morning after screaming our lungs out at bts. It was pretty empty but we did go like 15 minutes after opening, so service was great. read more

I have lived in Japan for 15 years and I have to say that this is probably the best stateside Ramen I have ever eaten. The soup temperature is hot, the noodles are hard and sticky like they should be and the.Shoyu taste is perfect. It really is in the style of Hokkaido Ramen. read more

I really wanted to like this place since I enjoyed the food when this was a Chinese restaurant. The decor is cute and clean with limited seating, but since it wasn't full the amount of space was fine. We got there during happy hour and were told the hot sake was on happy hour, but when we ordered, the waitress asked if we wanted a small or large and I told her whatever one was listed on the happy hour menu. She told us they both are the same so of course we opted for large. However, the large was a higher price. The reviews were fairly good but the menu must have changed from the pictures on this page. The fried squid wasn't the full squid but more like bar-style calamari that was reheated since it came out soggy. The fried soft shell crab was actually tasty. The tonkatsu ramen is not what you typically see at other area ramen locations. This was made with pork katsu, which was unfortunately undercooked so my husband was sick for 2 days. The ramen broth was good though. Giving this 3 stars overall because of the cleanliness, decent soft shell crab and ramen broth and ease of location... but would give 2.5 stars since the front staff wasn't clear or attentive and the rest of our order was not good. read more

Sapporo Gara broth was really good and the meat was soft and tender. It was a little salty but the portion was huge. One thing to note is that their avocado yogurt and mango puree wasn't good. It doesn't taste much like avocado even though they used the real fruit. I think it is the yogurt. read more

A MUST FOR RAMEN LOVERS!!! I can't believe I don't hear about this place more! My husband and I have tried all the popular ramen places around DFW and this place far surpassed all of them! You can taste the quality in the ingredients and we were told they're sourced from Japan but most notably the noodles actually have the proper spring and bounce to them that we have yet to find at other places. The broth is well balanced and flavored and has just the right amount of fat added to create that mouth feel and it isn't creamy like a lot of "Americanized" ramen broths. There were no short cuts taken that we've seen at a lot of places and everything from the ramen, to the fried squid, to the miso soup was on point. Aside from the amazing food the staff was fantastic so all in all it's a five star for us and we will definitely be coming back. read more

I have an intolerance to MSG, and I was pleasantly surprised that they do not use any MSG in their food. This can be difficult to find in Asian restaurants, so that was a plus right off the bat. The ramen was really flavorful, and they didn't even need to add MSG to get that umami taste. The service was also very good. The restaurant was small and had kind of hard seats. We were there for a long time visiting with friends, and it got a little bit uncomfortable. The atmosphere was not super comfy and warm, but it was ok. Overall, we really enjoyed the experience. We'll be back! read more

We were in the mood for some Ramen, and I wanted to try a new location. We settled on Itadaki. This restaurant is a small store but still has plenty of tables. You sit down and order at the table. The service was very good for us. The wait staff are very helpful if you have questions about the ramen types. For the food I had Sapporo Gara Broth ramen. I ordered mine with miso broth. This ramen comes with chicken and pork. So, it cost a dollar more for two meats. The broth was very tasty, not spicy at all. I do like some spices, so I may order it with some spice next time. Plenty of food at a great price. We did have an appetizer first, it was the Gyoza pan seared very good. Food came out fast not much of a wait. For a nice touch at the end of our meal the server brought out two slices of watermelon. That was very nice, I really liked that. I'm not sure if that is an all the time thing or not. But it is a good idea. On the menu you have plenty of other items Bento boxes, chicken meals cooked with different sauces. Fried rice, Udon and Soba. All looks very good. read more

I was in the mood for ramen and my bf found this place for us. It seems newer since there were few menus so we wanted to try it out!! We were a bit surprised that there wasn't any Tonkotsu, or other typical dishes from Ramen restaurants but we were open to anything. We got the Kara Miso Sapporo Gara Broth and Shio Sapporo Gara Broth. Both were incredibly flavorful and the Kara Miso satisfied my craving and much much more. They were very generous with the servings of meat and everything added in the dish was delicious and filling. I had to take some home. We also got chicken karaage which was crispy but not oily! Very flavorful as well. Service was quick, and our servers were attentive. They gave us some watermelon after our meal as well ^.^ Will be showing this place to my friends and family. read more

A Hidden Gem with Heart in Every Dish If you pay close attention, you can really tell the chef puts his heart and mind into every dish. The ramen was full of umami flavor--rich, savory, and deeply satisfying in the best way. I also loved that you can customize your own broth and add extras to your bowl, which makes the experience even more personal. Overall, it's a really nice restaurant that deserves to attract more people than it currently does. A spot worth checking out! read more

I have heard a lot of good things about this ramen restaurant that opened in the last year. I tend to avoid Collins and Cooper, if I can, but it was Saturday and I was running errands so I thought I would pop in. There were three women sitting behind the counter who told me to just sit anywhere. One of them immediately brought me a menu and asked what I wanted to drink. She brought me a glass with ice, and a bottle of water. I really try to avoid single use plastic as much as I can and asked her if they had water that wasn't bottled, she just told me they don't charge for it and walked away. Environment be damned, I guess. The service didn't get much better after that. The table was clear when I sat down, but apparently had not been wiped down because there were soup spots all over it. There were only three other tables occupied and the women spent most of the time I was there on their phones, so it wasn't that they were busy. Then, my soup came out. And it was piping hot. Which I love. Soup needs to be HOT, and I have been to a few ramen places who send it out just warmed. The ramen was good. The noodles were chewy, in the best way. The egg perfectly cooked. The chashu was very tender. You could see that it had spice on it, but it wasn't spicy, however it was very flavorful. If I were judging just on the ramen I would have rated it better. My only complaint with the food, because of the shape of the bowls and spoon, it is not easy to get the last of the soup that has all the delicious bits left behind. Alas, they were left behind. The check was dropped down while I was still eating, and you pay at the counter. The ramen price is about on par with Ramen Izakaya Akira, in Lewisville, but I think only one is worth going out of your way for. read more

I've been here a few times now, and every single visit has been great--the food is always fresh, flavorful, and consistent. Even something as simple as the miso appetizer really stands out with how tasty and well-made it is. Perfect cold weather destination on Monday night. Parking was complimentary and we got sat right away. Ambiance was intimate and cozy. Server was attentive and friendly. The owner, Alex, was helpful and recommended SAPPORO GARA BROTH Ramen. We ordered that with miso and shio in low sodium broth and chicken karage. They also offered Bento boxes on the menu. The ramen hit the spot and karage was delicious too. Great experience and we will be back. read more

Tucked away in the whole foods plaza, is a gem of a ramen shop. Itadaki Ramen is authentic Japanese, Kansai-style 関西 ramen. The restaurant is clean and welcoming with plenty of tables. The owner learned the methods from Japan and imports the noodle and broth. The noodle is especially QQ and the flavor is very unique. Definitely worth the try. Order: Chicken karaage -tender with a crispy outside Takoyaki -more tokyo style, fried well and not gooey. Saucy and savory just how I like. Squid geso karaage -fried squid, can't go wrong. Crispy, chewy and would pair perfectly with a beer. Agedashi tofu -fried perfectly without falling apart or being too wet. Big portion! I'd need extra sauce cause I basically drink it lol Fried oysters -incredible texture, crunch and fried well with fresh juicy oysters. A summer staple. Soup-less Ramen On the saltier side, pork is tender and braised well to really balance it out. Nigori chicken broth in shoyu sauce and pork chashu - savory, rich and filling. Ramen egg made perfectly, noodles are chewy and very QQ, broth isn't too salty Come try out this new ramen shop!! It's a bit of a drive for me but 100% worth it. read more

The chicken karaage is pretty good. I dipped it in some sauce I had at home (got my order delivered) and it was great. I was extremely disappointed in the ramen. This place has ramen in its name, so I assumed it would be tasty. Unfortunately, the meat (chicken and pork) was under seasoned and so was the broth. Overall, the meal was pretty flavorless. Well we finally made it to Itadaki Ramen and were quite pleased and a little aggravated that we had waited so long to check them out. I have seen comments on them, some saying that they are authentic and others saying that they were not authentic. If you ask me, I'll say that I have no idea if they are or not. I have lived almost all my life within 10 miles of the location so how in the world would I know. All I know is that everything that we had was very good. We started with the Gyoza and then I had the Nigori Chicken Broth Ramen with the Miso base. Both were great. I'm not even a little bit of a ramen expert but I know that I really enjoyed the meal and will be back for more. read more

Itadaki Ramen specializes in ramen that originates from Sapporo. However, they did have a wide range of different broths to choose from. I am a shoyu ramen lover, so I wanted to try the clear chicken broth with the shoyu base. The noodles were bouncy and chewy, and the veggie toppings were nice and crunchy. The meat was also cooked really well - you can tell it's been simmering in a broth for the day, which makes biting into it like biting into a piece of butter. The staff was incredibly kind and attentive during the whole meal. They were also willing to answer any questions and provide as much information as possible. They were also sweet enough to package up my leftovers! Additionally, the modern decor is very pleasing to the eye when you first walk in. Overall, the atmosphere is very comfortable and pleasant. All in all, the flavor was great! It's definitely worth giving a try as it has only recently opened. read more

I stopped in after seeing some great reviews. The restaurant was clean and quiet--we were the only ones dining at the time. Unfortunately, the service didn't match the setting. We felt rushed when ordering, and the staff wasn't very attentive throughout the meal. Their ramen options were limited, especially in terms of customization. I prefer chicken broth and avoid eggs due to an allergy, but there weren't many alternatives offered. On the bright side, the happy hour sushi was fresh and tasty. We ordered California rolls and shrimp tempura to start while chatting and enjoying the food. Mid-meal, the server abruptly dropped off the check without asking if we were finished--despite us clearly still eating. We had planned to continue ordering, but at that point, it felt like we were being pushed out. I noticed we were charged full price for the California rolls, even though appetizers were advertised as $2 off during happy hour. When I asked, the server claimed they were "new" items and not included in the discount--something not noted anywhere. I also inquired earlier whether the $2.50 sake applied to both small and large sizes, and she told me yes--but the check reflected a higher price for the large. When I asked for clarification, I overheard the server speaking with (what I presume was) the manager, who remained seated drinking tea and moving between the dining room and kitchen. Their conversation, which I could clearly hear, included comments about my questions--something that felt unprofessional and uncomfortable. For the higher prices on ramen and other items, I expected a better experience overall. While the sushi and tempura were genuinely good, the customer service and lack of transparency left a bad impression. I won't be returning. read more

I did a take out order and the food was ready within 20 min and still hot when I got in! I'm from Hawaii and finding places that remind me of the ramen and Japanese shops at home is hard to come by in the mainland, but Itadaki filled that void. The yakimesi was really a highlight for me and reminded me of the fried rice I ate during my visits to Japan! The shrimp tempura was a great price for the amount of pieces you get and the yakimesi came in a big container that will certainly feed me for a couple days.
