Truthfully I walked into this place with low expectations as I am very picky with my ramen. Best to say, it's not what I call the "greatest ramen" out here in DFW but it definitely exceeded my expectations. To give credit whete it's due, the thing I liked best about my order (Shoyu broth with pork katsu) is the meat! A lot of ramen places make the meat too chewy that it's hard to swallow, or the texture is off. Itadaki does it perfect; the pork was soft & juicy to my liking. The broth was OK, I expected Shoyu to be "thin soup", but it was too watery in my opinion. Noodles were great! I have an intolerance to MSG, and I was pleasantly surprised that they do not use any MSG in their food. This can be difficult to find in Asian restaurants, so that was a plus right off the bat. The ramen was really flavorful, and they didn't even need to add MSG to get that umami taste. The service was also very good. The restaurant was small and had kind of hard seats. A MUST FOR RAMEN LOVERS!!! I can't believe I don't hear about this place more! My husband and I have tried all the popular ramen places around DFW and this place far surpassed all of them! You can taste the quality in the ingredients and we were told they're sourced from Japan but most notably the noodles actually have the proper spring and bounce to them that we have yet to find at other places. The broth is well balanced and flavored and has just the right amount of fat added to create that mouth feel and it isn't creamy like a lot of "Americanized" ramen broths. There were no short cuts taken that we've seen at a lot of places and everything from the ramen, to the fried squid, to the miso soup was on point. Aside from the amazing food the staff was fantastic so all in all it's a five star for us and we will definitely be coming back. read more

I really wanted to like this place since I enjoyed the food when this was a Chinese restaurant. The decor is cute and clean with limited seating, but since it wasn't full the amount of space was fine. We got there during happy hour and were told the hot sake was on happy hour, but when we ordered, the waitress asked if we wanted a small or large and I told her whatever one was listed on the happy hour menu. She told us they both are the same so of course we opted for large. However, the large was a higher price. The reviews were fairly good but the menu must have changed from the pictures on this page. The fried squid wasn't the full squid but more like bar-style calamari that was reheated since it came out soggy. The fried soft shell crab was actually tasty. The tonkatsu ramen is not what you typically see at other area ramen locations. This was made with pork katsu, which was unfortunately undercooked so my husband was sick for 2 days. The ramen broth was good though. Giving this 3 stars overall because of the cleanliness, decent soft shell crab and ramen broth and ease of location... but would give 2.5 stars since the front staff wasn't clear or attentive and the rest of our order was not good. read more

Sapporo Gara broth was really good and the meat was soft and tender. It was a little salty but the portion was huge. One thing to note is that their avocado yogurt and mango puree wasn't good. It doesn't taste much like avocado even though they used the real fruit. I think it is the yogurt. read more

The service was very good for us. The wait staff are very helpful if you have questions about the ramen types. For the food I had Sapporo Gara Broth ramen. I ordered mine with miso broth. This ramen comes with chicken and pork. So, it cost a dollar more for two meats. The broth was very tasty, not spicy at all. I do like some spices, so I may order it with some spice next time. Plenty of food at a great price. We did have an appetizer first, it was the Gyoza pan seared very good. Food came out fast not much of a wait. For a nice touch at the end of our meal the server brought out two slices of watermelon. That was very nice, I really liked that. I'm not sure if that is an all the time thing or not. I have heard a lot of good things about this ramen restaurant that opened in the last year. I tend to avoid Collins and Cooper, if I can, but it was Saturday and I was running errands so I thought I would pop in. There were three women sitting behind the counter who told me to just sit anywhere. One of them immediately brought me a menu and asked what I wanted to drink. She brought me a glass with ice, and a bottle of water. I really try to avoid single use plastic as much as I can and asked her if they had water that wasn't bottled, she just told me they don't charge for it and walked away. Environment be damned, I guess. The service didn't get much better after that. The table was clear when I sat down, but apparently had not been wiped down because there were soup spots all over it. There were only three other tables occupied and the women spent most of the time I was there on their phones, so it wasn't that they were busy. Then, my soup came out. And it was piping hot. Which I love. Soup needs to be HOT, and I have been to a few ramen places who send it out just warmed. The ramen was good. The noodles were chewy, in the best way. The egg perfectly cooked. The chashu was very tender. You could see that it had spice on it, but it wasn't spicy, however it was very flavorful. If I were judging just on the ramen I would have rated it better. My only complaint with the food, because of the shape of the bowls and spoon, it is not easy to get the last of the soup that has all the delicious bits left behind. Alas, they were left behind. The check was dropped down while I was still eating, and you pay at the counter. The ramen price is about on par with Ramen Izakaya Akira, in Lewisville, but I think only one is worth going out of your way for. read more

We were a bit surprised that there wasn't any Tonkotsu, or other typical dishes from Ramen restaurants but we were open to anything. We got the Kara Miso Sapporo Gara Broth and Shio Sapporo Gara Broth. Both were incredibly flavorful and the Kara Miso satisfied my craving and much much more. Order: Chicken karaage -tender with a crispy outside Takoyaki -more tokyo style, fried well and not gooey. Saucy and savory just how I like. Squid geso karaage -fried squid, can't go wrong. Crispy, chewy and would pair perfectly with a beer. Agedashi tofu -fried perfectly without falling apart or being too wet. Big portion! I'd need extra sauce cause I basically drink it lol Fried oysters -incredible texture, crunch and fried well with fresh juicy oysters. A summer staple. Well we finally made it to Itadaki Ramen and were quite pleased and a little aggravated that we had waited so long to check them out. I have seen comments on them, some saying that they are authentic and others saying that they were not authentic. If you ask me, I'll say that I have no idea if they are or not. I have lived almost all my life within 10 miles of the location so how in the world would I know. All I know is that everything that we had was very good. We felt rushed when ordering, and the staff wasn't very attentive throughout the meal. Their ramen options were limited, especially in terms of customization. I prefer chicken broth and avoid eggs due to an allergy, but there weren't many alternatives offered. On the bright side, the happy hour sushi was fresh and tasty. We ordered California rolls and shrimp tempura to start while chatting and enjoying the food. Mid-meal, the server abruptly dropped off the check without asking if we were finished--despite us clearly still eating. We had planned to continue ordering, but at that point, it felt like we were being pushed out. I noticed we were charged full price for the California rolls, even though appetizers were advertised as $2 off during happy hour. When I asked, the server claimed they were "new" items and not included in the discount--something not noted anywhere. I also inquired earlier whether the $2.50 sake applied to both small and large sizes, and she told me yes--but the check reflected a higher price for the large. When I asked for clarification, I overheard the server speaking with (what I presume was) the manager, who remained seated drinking tea and moving between the dining room and kitchen. Their conversation, which I could clearly hear, included comments about my questions--something that felt unprofessional and uncomfortable. For the higher prices on ramen and other items, I expected a better experience overall. I am a shoyu ramen lover, so I wanted to try the clear chicken broth with the shoyu base. The noodles were bouncy and chewy, and the veggie toppings were nice and crunchy. The meat was also cooked really well - you can tell it's been simmering in a broth for the day, which makes biting into it like biting into a piece of butter. The staff was incredibly kind and attentive during the whole meal. They were also willing to answer any questions and provide as much information as possible. They were also sweet enough to package up my leftovers! Additionally, the modern decor is very pleasing to the eye when you first walk in. Overall, the atmosphere is very comfortable and pleasant. I did a take out order and the food was ready within 20 min and still hot when I got in! I'm from Hawaii and finding places that remind me of the ramen and Japanese shops at home is hard to come by in the mainland, but Itadaki filled that void. The yakimesi was really a highlight for me and reminded me of the fried rice I ate during my visits to Japan! The shrimp tempura was a great price for the amount of pieces you get and the yakimesi came in a big container that will certainly feed me for a couple days. When I entered the restaurant I noticed how relaxing and clean it was, definitely somewhere to have a nice meal. Really looking forward to going back and trying even more things read more

I couldn't even eat it. Someone ordered the bento box and they wanted to try it with the pork but they told her they were out, just for them to bring it out to someone else who arrived 10 minutes after us.
