I also love the themes they always have going on but I have to admit I stick to my usual: the seared scallops are my favorite, I have to get minimum 3 plates each time I visit a Kura. My mouth is watering while I write this review waiting for my friend to show up haha! The seared salmon with miso and cream cheese? Delicious. Their regular salmon? Not fishy and delicious. I have very sensitive taste buds so I really enjoy how none of their fish taste fishy (I know... sounds weird). Anyways, just wanted to drop a quick review and get back to drooling

Spicy popo fish is definitely a lot to eat with two, and this is much more manageable and cheaper. There was a lot of fish and I loved that we could add ramen noodles! You get a full whole fish packed with flavor, plus your choice of add-in proteins and veggies. Because I was dining with friends with lower spice tolerances, we went with the lowest spice level and it was still incredible. I'm definitely coming back to try the spiciest level next! * Dan Dan Noodles: Nailed the exact flavor profile I look for--properly spicy and numbing (ma la) rather than being washed out by overly sweet peanut paste. Cant say it's the best dan dan noodle that I've had but loved that it wasn't too sweet. * Smashed Eggplant with Century Egg: I was so hyped to see one of my all-time favorite dishes on the menu! Rich, savory, and delicious. My only wish is that it included a few blistered hot peppers for an extra spicy kick, but it's still a must-order. * Lucky Beef Trio: Solid, savory, and very well executed. Pro-Tip: The flexible spice scale makes this spot ideal for group dining, even if half your table can't handle high heat! - though it's best to go with friends that has similar spice tolerance to have the most satisfaction

There's more parking behind the plaza where Young Tea is located. Upon entering the restaurant, it was already packed so we had to put our name on the waitlist. After about 20 minutes, we got seated nearby the window. The restaurant did not look too big from the outside but it was spacious when you walk inside. Restaurant had nice Chinese art decors and red painted walls. Our waitress instructed us to scan the menu QR code and order from our phone. Looking at the extensive menu, here are some items we ordered: Sweet and sour pork ribs: Thought this was pretty good. It was sweet and tendered. A good alternative dish if you can't handle spicy food. Dry pot tofu sheets: This was one of our favorites. It is a recommended dish to try when dining here. This dish was spicy and flavorful with lots of spicy peppers and peppercorn. A very numbing dish that requires you to eat with rice. They place the pot on top of an open flame for you to enjoy. A must try item! Dan Dan noodles: I like this way better than DTF. It was flavorful and spicy but a bit salty. Chili oil dumplings: The dumplings were soft and silky, which made the dish very soupy. It wasn't too spicy which was great considered that there were too many spicy items already ordered. Overall, a solid restaurant to try. It was our first time trying Hunan/Sichuan cuisine and it did not disappoint! If your palate can handle spicy, then this place is a must try. I will for sure come back and try their other dishes. Just expect to wait for a bit since it can get busy.

The soup was delicious, tangy and refreshing, not too spicy. My favorite dishes was the classic egg tomatoes and the eggplant and potatoes. Ugh, the sauces in there are too good, so oily and greasy but so good with rice. My only complaint are they do charge for rice, which I find rude at Asian restaurants.. it should come with each entrees. Who eats these without rice? They are super busy so they kinda time you on your dining experience. I would come again and again. Not bad, each entrees was about $12-14. The soup i think was $40 something but enough to fed 4-6 people.

Maybe the sign is still getting made?....after being open for 3 years now I think? Anyway, once you find it and go inside, you're greeted by very friendly staff and you see the sushi chef at work by the sushi bar. I recommend sitting by the bar if you'd like to see the chef in action. This establishment is owned by the same owner of I Love Sushi in Bellevue and brings Japanese Kaiseki -- a multi-course Japanese meal emphasizing seasonality, balance, and aesthetic presentation. The menu has course options priced at $150, $200 or $250 (per person). A 20% service charge gets added. Since it's our first time and not sure what to expect, we chose the $150 course -- 8 courses: Soup, Tempura Hand Roll, Sashimi, Steamed Dish, Appetizer Assortment, Grilled Fish, Iron Pot Seasoned Rice, Dessert. We were warmly greeted by the staff including the chef. Our place at the sushi bar is nicely set with a more detailed menu of the course we had chosen (see picture). Everything was delicious! At first we were worried that it's not going to be enough because the portions are small (more like a tasting menu), but by 5th course (6th course for my companions), I was feeling full. It was fun watching the chef worked his artistry with the food. We had sake pairing with our dishes at additional cost. Because we were there to celebrate a birthday (mine!), I was given an extra dessert. Servers were very attentive and food was great! We will be back!

We were reminded by the text system a day and an hour in advance, and since it's tucked away in a plaza in Redmond, it's got plenty of parking. The only issue you may have is not knowing where the door is, because there's no big sign - the towa sign next to the doorway is smaller than the window panel in the door. When you step in, you feel a sense of quiet and calm - because that's what it is. Nori Morita (of the I love sushi group in Bellevue) runs a music-less, authentic Japanese kaiseki experience here. There's 6 seats at the counter, and maybe about 10-12 seats in the surrounding tables. It's a small space but it doesn't feel cramped. There's one all-gender bathroom and one single-stall female bathroom at the very back. Service throughout the meal was generally polite, courteous, and proactive. My water glass and the missus' tea were never left below half. They cleared each course quickly as we finished it, and the meal pacing is such that Nori can keep up with you, even if he's making all six counter dishes and all 12 table dishes at once. It's kind of like a maestro orchestra, but he has plenty of helpers - at least two wait staff, and an additional one or two sous chefs that are handling the auxiliary things around him. Food: while the meal was overall satisfying and filling, there was no standout highlight, or any particular dish that disappointed. It wasn't "meh", but it didn't really wow either the missus or I. I'm sure it'll be forgettable in a few weeks, which is the main reason for 4 stars - it's a bit more pricey than I'd expect for something this high quality. It qualifies for top 10 Omakase / Kaiseki in Seattle by nature of having high end ingredients and baseline high service quality, but those are table stakes given the competition.. The Miyazaki A5 wagyu was genuinely a decent portion size, but given that I've had it before, I guess maybe I expected a deeper flavour profile? The dish that I enjoyed the novelty the most was the Shabu Shabu king salmon - being able to eat sashimi-grade King salmon that you dip into boiling hot soup was a fun treat that definitely elevated the fattiness in the taste profile. Drinks: besides water, the missus ordered the hot hojicha tea, and I got the seasonal sake flight for $39. It was a decent selection, but it was heavily overpriced for the quality of sake and the amount you got. At most I'd expect to pay $25 for four 2oz pours, especially since one overlaps with Ltd Edition (kokuryu - black dragon). Verdict: it's lower half of the top 10 in Seattle - but it's still worth going if you want to celebrate something with high quality service and ingredients. I personally probably wouldn't do the $250 version again, but I'd be interested in doing the other ones. We both enjoyed ourselves - but idk if it's worth $700 for two people (service charge of 20% is added, plus tax...), so take that for what you will. Fun coincidence: all three couples seated at the counter when we were there were celebrating an anniversary - 11th for the farther couple, and 18th for the couple next to us. So for what it's worth - this place is definitely a destination for those that want to celebrate something.

We were not let down! It wasnt the bestttt I've ever had but definitely the best I've had in a while, and likely the best around the Seattle area that I've found. And they gave a generous serving of meat and noodles (could do more veg & tripe for paying for the extra though). We also ordered the protein combo with popcorn chicken, spicy pepper chicken, and scallion oil chicken. The popcorn chicken and spicy pepper chicken could both have been better battered - they weren't as crispy and spiced as we would've liked (and would've loveddd some fried basil with the popcorn chicken) - but both were definitely superr juicy and moist. The dipping sauce was amazing! The cold scallion oil chicken was great - a little lackluster compared to the others, and presentation wasnt great (it was pulled dark meat in a pile rather than chopped into slices as it usually comes) but it still tasted good enough that I'd order it again (better than other places around, even some hainanese chicken spots that have way more bland chicken). They werent busy when we went but noticed lots of takeout orders piled in the window so I assume most orders go by takeout/doordash/ubereats/fantuan. The employees were hardworking and so sweet.
