Very good the closest to k-sisters which are the best. Light dough, nice filling. Had the farmers cheese which is my favorite.

I learnt that Ukrainian cuisine shares a lot of overlap with Polish cuisine. I enjoyed trying the cabbage rolls (Holubtsi), pickled vegetable dish, Salo (cured bacon) assortment of Ukrainian dumplings (Varenyky), borsch, and potato pancakes (Deruny). I also had their pork shashlyk and potato/egg plant dish. Though the pork was marinated very nicely, it was a bit too dry and tough for my liking. Food was plentiful and it was great to sample such authentic cuisine.

I think the quality of the food is good but the flavor profile was a little redundant for me, so this is probably more of a taste preference difference then. My impression was the whole menu was potatoes in every dumpling form, lots of dill, butter, sour cream, and cheese. Yes the actual dough was airy but a very heavy meal here that can leave those intolerant of oils and cheese to feel a little full. Good service and definitely a good group experience for those wishing to try new cuisine. Potato pancakes- similar to latkes- oily and decadent. Latkes are usually shredded potatoes and this was more potatoes dough. Still good. Nalysnyky- it was somewhat of a folded mini crepes with a savory stuffing that went with a chicken noodle soup. It was heavy on the dill which is why you have to be in the right mood to appreciate this dish. Varenyky- potato dumplings with lots of cheese. Usually good but definitely heavy on dill and a bit too cheesy for me. Would not get if you're sensitive to oil. Would recommend for those looking for new experiences, caution on taste profile which is more acquired taste but still good.

All religious organisations should follow suit! Anyway, just follow the signs that lead into a room that has a counter with chafing dishes and some industrial sized fridges. Someone actually approached me, asked if it was my first time, and helped me to order! P.S. He also tried to upsell me, so that guy was doing his job. In comparison to dining out, prices are quite reasonable. A dozen pierogies were ~$8, a tall plastic container of soup was $6, $10 for 8 smallish, but adequate sized cabbage rolls, etc. Menu is also online, so you can call ahead! With the exception of the baked goods, everything else is made on-site. Soup was really tasty and garlicky! It only had goosha of beets. Rice/pork cabbage rolls were REALLY good. There were other kinds available as well. They also stamp a loyalty card with each purchase and when it's full, you get some bonus pierogies. I'd definitely go back to try some other EE specialties! Btw, it's takeout only. So no place to sit. Service was nice, but more "relaxed". Lady in front of me was ordering a feast!

I honestly wasn't sure what I was getting myself into when she told me that she had ordered us squirt guns and that the girls were supposed to spray they boys and a supposed to get the girls with pussy willows. Sadly, the squirt guns did not arrive from Amazon before we left the house for the event bc no one else had squirt gums when we're got there a little after 5:00pm, I did however see some people with pussy willows. The set and flow to order and pick up food went very smoothly. My friend got a platter and I opted for 6 pirogies and a side of kielbasa and a ticket for water or soda. If they had listed the beer/wine options in the tent where we purchased the food tickets, I may have spent the money on an alcoholic drink. I did like that they had the schedule posted and for the most part they stuck to it. There was a decent amount of people there but it didn't feel too crowded. We got our food and sat at a high top table right on the front porch which allowed for conversation while still people watching. The food was really good, probably the best pirogies I e ever had to be honest! We listened to a few songs from the band but the pirogi eating contest was quite the sight! I do wish that the women running/coordinating the contest didn't use a microphone. I think it would have been a bit more polished if they were able to announce the rules and then learn about each of the participants and then announce, honor and present the prizes to the winners. I had a prime view and captured a number of photos of the pirogi eating contest.

From what I understand, Friday has more singing, and Saturday more dancing. Even if you don't understand the language, it is so much fun to enjoy. Service is definitely on the slow side - they could hire a couple more waiters. - Borscht: always a good way to start a meal. Soup was nice but nothing out of the world. I enjoyed the smoked meat pieces that were added in. The garlicy buns that came with it were nice and fluffy and delicious. 4.5/5 - Family meat platter with buckwheat and sauerkraut sides: a hefty platter. Nice smoked flavour in a lot of the meats. Everything was juicy and well seasoned. There was enough variety so it didn't feel redundant or monotonous. Usually I am intimidated by blood sausage, but this one was delicious. Does not have a very strong iron flavour, it is moreso umami and meaty. One platter can feed a family of 4 no problem. Sides were well portioned. 5/5 - Sour cherry varenyky: the dough felt a bit thick to me, and I would have loved more sour cherry on top rather than the maraschino cherries. The maraschino cherries are very sweet and pack a different flavour punch, which draws the attention away from the sour cherry filling. 3/5 - Kvas: delicious rye bread flavoured, non-alcoholic beverage. The flavour was rich enough and not too sweet. Makes for a perfect meat and bread combo. 5/5

Parking (paid) is right beside the church. Enter the door on the north side of the building, following signs to help you find the way to where their perogies are! I got Ready to eat (take out) - Potato and Cheddar Cheese Perogy - Sauerkraut and Mushroom Perogy Frozen - Potato and Cheddar Cheese Perogy - Sauerkraut and Mushroom Perogy - Mushroom Vushka The take out perogies were great, especially the potato & cheddar one. I am not a fan of potato & cheddar cheese perogies - and I wanted to try their potato & cottage cheese one. But they were sold-out when I was here. It was around 4:30pm. So, I got the potato & cheddar. But surprisingly the potato & cheddar tasted great! Right saltiness. They bring out the best of potato flavor, fluffy yet creamy texture, with a hint of cheddar cheese - oh they were sooooo good. I felt that the sauerkraut and mushroom one was a bit too sour for my liking. I wished for more mushroom flavor in it as well. But the wrapper itself had character, natural, chewy and soft. Nothing goes wrong with this wrapper! Frozen perogies were a bit tricky. Unlike other store bought frozen perogies, they came in tin-foil container, and it instructs to heat in the oven n 20-25 mins. One container had 12 pcs, which is too much for my household (2 persons). I tried to boil a few, which turned out to be flabby leaking perogies. Then I tried to fry a few, adding a bit of water. Which was a huge success! Most impressive was Mushroom Vushka. Full of Mushroom flavor enclosed in this tasty wrapper. Addictive. I should come back for this again. I liked this place a lot, humble and truly tasty! Cannot wait to try more food here!
