I love Pierogis so this place is a real treat for me. I came here with a girlfriend before going to the Van Gogh exhibition. It was her first time here-- my second. We both got bowls, I had The BFLO which is Potato & Onion Pierogi, Schnitzel, Mozzarella Cheese, Caramelized Onions, Banana Peppers, Fried Onions and Buffalo Aioli. She got the Dzień Dobry which is Sauerkraut Pierogi, Mała Pork, Pickles, Banana Peppers, Pickled Beets, Mozzarella Cheese and Horseradish Aioli. Both were delicious. The dough is rather thick, but soft, and I liked it. With the combination bowl, you should cover eight 'pierogi' of your choice with: sauteed mushrooms caramelized onion bacon bits cold mozzarella and cheddar dill crispy fried onion banana pepper green onion sauerkraut pickled beets, red onions and pickles ... choose up to seven from the list above, included with your $9.90 Pierogi Bowl. Chrusciki Bakery, Sto Lot, and Simply Pierogi are actually three separate food spots sharing the same large space. My company grabbed a table at the Sto Lat section. We weren't sure whether we had to exclusively use their lunch menu, or we could bring food from the rest of the area. It's kind of a busy food court feeling. Maybe because dinner is served from 5PM, I was able to join the fancier part of the lounge with a tray from Simply Pierogi. I didn't like my food served on disposable plates with plastic utensils. There was a little bit of jealousy from my side to see the nice, good quality forks and knives my friends were using who ordered from Sto Lat. We even wanted to ask someone to bring an extra set of regular utensils for me, but my food was getting colder, and there was no one around to catch. Also, our bottled beer was served without glasses. I was too excited during our meeting to care about it at the time, but now I think it was strange. My 'Pierogi Bowl' contained two cheese, two potato and four sauerkraut 'pierogi'. I asked for caramelized onion, sauteed mushrooms and creamy mushroom sauce. The chicken schnitzel landed on the top and it was a very good choice to have. Don't cover it with anything, just enjoy the crunch. I also asked for a side of pickles to know what kind is offered. Everything was very good except the 'pierogi', but like I mentioned before, their 'pierogi' are just a canvas background to your topping creations. If you have diet restrictions, skip the $15 special requested salad with a small grilled chicken from Sto Lat lunch menu. Instead go to Simply Pierogi and order a Cauliflower Bowl with all the toppings and sauces, add proteins to make your food taste even better. Also, there is a salad on the menu, with many combinations of ingredients. A Polish Platter can be an interesting choice. It's a little bit pricey for what they offer. The 'Mizeria' is just cucumber with cream and dill. Including two sides would have been even more attractive. Simply Pierogi also sells some Polish delicacies like dry mushrooms, pickles, and mustards. We tried red borscht concentrate, but I would not use it again. The color was brown and tasted like Maggi. I'll definitely come back to purchase some mushrooms and to have a Schnitzel Sandwich. It looked very appetizing. I would recommend Sto Lat for dinner, for sure. Just be sure to make reservation, I think it would be a good idea. In general the European Lounge is a beautiful, open space area. But there was a lack of harmony between all three sections. Thanks to fellow yelpers Linda & Frank for posting that this place was open, as I was excited to try it out. Due to the cornovirus they opened a little bit later then there original slated date of sometime In March. The new location combines Churuski Bakery & Sto Lat Bar, walking in you would never think it was an old Sears location. The space was open, warm, inviting and bright, plenty of comfortable seating, as you walked in there was a sign directing you to either Churcski bakery, Sto Lat Bar or Simply Pierogi. As it was there second day, it was nice to be greeted entering and thanked as I left as well...often a rarity in previous pre-covid 19 dates. Simply Pierogi ordering system was easy for take out, the kitchen was in the back area, and there was a smaller open kitchen for heating food, topping selctions and take out. Little glitz in the order ended up getting an extra main dish, but that was alright who doesnt love Polish food. Ordered the Polish platter ( 5 pierogi), Bigos, and the mistake was the other server through in the Golumka with the Polish potato salad. Overall everything tasted great, all reason for not giving it 5 stars were the piergoi being smaller were a little doughy. The add touch of the gelato and the baking class area on the other end of the resturant were Churski bakery was a nice touch. Simply Pierogi just opened their fast-casual restaurant today. (8/7/2020) . As far as I know, up until this point you were only able to get their food frozen to be cooked at home. This location in Eastern Hills Mall in was the old Sears appliances department. They share the space with Chrusciki Bakery and Sto Lat Bar. The space is very bright and wide open with plenty of comfy seating. Their menu has a variety of polish dishes with their famous pierogis being the star. Today we decided on a split order of pierogis with half potato and onions with the other half with farmers cheese. There's several topping, both hot and cold to choose from. We went traditional with sautéed onions and sour cream. We also got a double order of potato pancakes. Again with the traditional toppings of apple sauce and sour cream. There was a bit of a glitch in the order since we originally only got 2 pancakes and it was suppose to be 4 so we had to wait for 2 more to be made. I'm assuming that was a first day open stumble and will improve in the future. We brought the food home and had a carb filled dinner! :) All very good but my favorite was actually the farmers cheese filled pierogi which had a nice creamy texture. The applesauce was nice and chunky, just the way I like it. Don't recall if they sold their frozen pierogi packages. I'll check that out on my next visit. read more

Until now if you wanted Pierogies from Simply Pierogi, you had to go to their location in Lancaster at the Chrusciki Bakery and purchase ready made refrigerated or frozen Pierogies, bring them home and reheat them. Their new location is at the South end of Eastern Hills Mall, in the same space as Chrusciki Bakery and Sto Lat Bar. In addition to having plenty of seating, they offer a variety foods like Pierogies, Kielbasa, Mata Pork, Bigos, Schnitzel, Gotabki, a Pierogi Hoagie, Potatoe Pancakes, Salads and a variety of sides, toppings, sauces & dressings. We ordered grilled Pierogies and Potato Pancakes for takeout. The food was good and we will be going back to try other items on their menu. A couple of negatives that caused a deduction of a star. 1) They don't have a P.O.S ordering system so they food not cooked at the counter grill has to be yelled back to a kitchen through a small hole on the wall.this resulted in our Potato Pancake order having only two pancakes instead of four. We had to wait for them to make the other two. 2) they do not have a non contact payment system like at the Bakery. At this station we had to physically hand our card to the cashier who then handed it back with no gloves on. That's a bad thing and unsanitary nowadays. read more

I've never heard of this place before but my fiancé suggested we try it out because we love pierogis. Apparently their fast casual restaurant just opened so I was excited to try it out. First off, the staff is really nice! The two guys working there took their time to recommend what I should try. I ordered a pierogi bowl with potato and onion pierogis, schnitzel (breaded chicken), and multiple toppings. I tried their tomato and garlic sauce and they were both so good! The bowl was fantastic. Ngl, I do think my bowl was an odd mix of everything but it worked. My fiancé got a platter with sausage. The sausage was great- grilled perfectly with lots of flavor. We also ordered the potato pancakes which comes with either apple sauce or sour cream. We didn't know which one to try so the staff just gave us both on the side. Not sure if the pancakes were supposed to be THAT salty, but goodness gracious, they were almost inedible. They were that salty and I was wondering if they're supposed to be like that? I also found navigating the restaurant to be difficult. This place was packed and I didn't feel like I was six feet apart from other people. If you come in, the sit-down restaurant Sto Lat Bar is to your left, Simply Pierogi is in the middle, and the bakery Chrusciki Bakery is to your right. To get to Simply Pierogi, you have to pass everyone standing in line at the bakery, the sit-down tables, AND once you get there, you have to take a left to get to the back of the line because you end up at the cash register if you don't. It's a little confusing and could be done more efficiently. Also, I didn't like how there was no contact-less paying. The guy had to take my card. I'm personally not a person who ever craves pierogis - I didn't grow up eating them very often and they just don't pop up on my radar super often. But I knew next time I was back in Buffalo I wanted to carve out a meal for this place, I can only eat so many chicken finger subs in one week. I LOVE all the customization available, kind of like a Chipotle for pierogis. What a great concept. The choice of proteins are awesome. I went with the "Buffalo Bowl" and traded the potato and onion pierogis for the farmers cheese pierogis - I think for me that was a great choice. The Schnitzel was crispy and flavorful, I love a good schnitzel and they're not easy to come across in a fast casual place, so I was excited for that. The pierogis were packed with cheese, I loved the toppings like onions, banana peppers, Buffalo aioli, etc. It was a great choice to introduce myself to what this place is all about. The inside of the restaurant is expansive and brand new and clean - it felt like a they put a lot of effort into creating an awesome space. There's a few restaurants that share the space, and the BFLO Store and Event Center is right next door. It's part of the European Lounge so you can order from here Chipotle-style (stand in line and select your toppings/sauces) and grab a table in the dining area. The staff were super friendly and gave us some good tips as to what pairs well with what. We enjoyed our Polish Platter with the Bigos and Schinitzel. The Schnitzel was cooked to order so it wasn't sitting around. It was a bit too thin of a cut for me (I like more meat than breading), but it was a great vessel for the warm tomato sauce and mushroom sauce. (I highly suggest the mushroom sauce - buttery and hints of lemon). The Bigos has some delicious chunks of meat in it. For the side the cucumber salad was a great choice. It was saltier compared to what my polish grandma would make, but nonetheless it was yummy; lots of flavor from the dill. I was also so happy when they had the option of getting non-seeded rye bread. I've stopped in twice now for lunch and both times were DELICIOUS! I tried the BFLO bowl my first time and the Tadeusz's pick my second time and both were phenomenal! So many flavors. The bowls cost is the $12-13 range. They do have some cheaper options on the menu as well. I did have to wait close to 15 minutes in line because the process does take a few minutes. The pierogis are freshly seared to order and one of the workers messed up one of the bowls before mine which added to the wait (no big deal though. It happens!) The space itself is beautiful with the Sto Lat bar to the left, the bakery to the right, and the kitchen in the middle. Plenty of seating. Finally had a day free to stop down here and do some sampling. I started out with the loaded pierogi bowl and I ended up splitting my pierogies half potato cheddar half potato onion. A Polish girl, I do enjoy a good pierogi every now and then, so we chose Simply Pierogi. The pick up process was easy, and it was pretty cool inside. Simply is attached to both Sto Lat Bar and Chrusciki Bakery, so if you wanted to pick something else up it would be easy enough. I got a Polish platter with the farmer's cheese pierogi, chicken schnitzel, and potato salad. I absolutely loved the schnitzel, it managed to be light and crispy without being greasy. The pierogi were delicious as well. My boyfriend got his own Polish platter with kielbasa and sauerkraut pierogi and he enjoyed it as well. We also got a side of their buffalo aioli, I dipped my schnitzel in and it was super delicious. I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for Polish food in a pinch. I have yet to actually eat prepared foods in the Simply Pierogi restaurant. But I hope to some day, as the menu and the food I see coming out of there looks delicious. My experience with Simply Pierogi has been to purchase frozen pierogi to cook at home. I stop here specifically for frozen pierogi because they have vegan options. Frozen pierogi in the supermarket usually incorporate eggs, which is a no-go for our vegan teen. But Simply Pierogi saves the day when I need vegan pierogi, usually for a holiday spread. The ingredients list indicates they do not use any eggs in their dough. The Potato and Onion, Sauerkraut, and Apple flavored frozen pierogi do not have any dairy either, so those are my go-to when feeding my little rabbit. They are all delicious! The apple in particular is very unique. It tastes like the absolute best version of a McDonald's apple pie, when those used to be better, circa pre-90s. :-D There are other flavors that include cheese products that I would love to try someday myself, like Farmers Cheese and Blueberry & Cheese, which still make the cut for my vegetarian diet. But they are pricey, at $8.95 a bag, so we usually stick with flavors the whole fam' can enjoy for now. Wow what different concept. To start the owner of the place was super attentive. He made sure we all enjoyed what we had in front of us. The food was different then anything I've had recently. I know this place just opened and are most likely trying to figure things out but wow this place was totally a miss. I know the people working here are new at making the dishes but then seem so confused. I ordered the build your own bowl with the farmers cheese pierogis, sautéed onions and a creamy mushroom sauce. I'm pretty sure I got the pierogis that where supposed to go in someone else's meal. So sad they're just premed and fried in front of you. The sauce was alright but I didn't care for the onions. Someone else with me had the tomato not grilled cheese specialty bowl. This was supposed to come with the schnitzel but it wasn't given to us. I tried some and it was alright. The sauce was tomato sauce was watery and bland. I think the person who had this dish got my cheese pierogis. The last person with me got the Specialty buffalo bowl. All I tried from this was the schnitzel with the buffalo aïoli on top. It was probably the best thing I tasted from there even if it was just a chicken finger with a bit of semi spices sauce on it. All the workers where friendly all be it very confused. This places major down fall is how overpriced it is for only decent food. Come on over 40 dollars for a few bowls Pierogis! The drinks where okay but be away you'll need to ask the bar for straws as they are no where to be found around the soft drink stand. Overall this place was not up to my expectations.
