21 piece sushi sampler and Red skin Roll
Dinh N.

Ordered through Uber eats. I got the 21 piece sushi sampler and the red skin roll. The sushi was good quality and the rice was still warm when it got to me. The sushi sampler was a good deal and the nigiri was pretty good. They did a good job with the eel but gave me shrimp and imitation crab, I would preferred more fish. The red skin roll was very good, I would definitely recommend. I would try their other rolls too

Love this place. Yes it is in Wheaton plaza yet they manage to create a great food. The owners are often there and are very welcoming. Please stop in and try the food you will enjoy it. Update January 2020. This place continues to be my go to sushi place. Quick and always fresh.

Shrimp shumai fried 6pc A12. Seaweed Salad - The image features two black plastic sushi bento boxes placed on a table. The top box contains a serving of seaweed salad garnished with sesame seeds. The bottom box holds sushi rolls topped with crunchy tempura bits, with visible slices of pickled ginger on the side. The table surface appears to be dark, and part of a glass and a cord are also visible.

I loved the sushi here. It was fresh and the chef made it with such attention and precision. You could taste the effort that was put into it. Both the fried tempura rolls and seaweed salad were phenomenal. The customer service was amazing too they really helped me pick the perfect meal for my diet.

Decent sushi here. Definitely come here for lunch specials. Highly recommend the spicy salmon. Their spicy tuna is nothing special. Their miso soup is pretty good too.

C7. Veggie Combo (minus 3 pieces because I was hungry) ....12 pieces of veggie sushi with 2 inari...delicious! $9.99

Hidden gem located in the Wheaton Mall food court. Tons of vegetarian sushi options including multiple combos available, including a lunch special. I got a veggie roll and also tried inari for the first time here. It tasted excellent and I can't wait to try it again. Sushi tastes extra fresh and was made quickly. Definitely will be heading back soon!

Teriyaki chicken bento box

Everyone here is so kind, swift and the food is the BOMB.com Today I had a chicken teriyaki bento box that came with 2 crab sushi pieces, lettuce sticky rice with avocado slices on top. I will say that the chicken was alil over salty but the vegetables provided a beautiful balance. All in all, if you are in the mall and you want to eat light try this place

What a great Deal! Freshly made spicy tuna roll and a big bowl of miso for $5.99. Delicious and a bargain!!!!!

Hibachi Express Japanse Grill - Chicken and Beef Hibachi Combo

Hibachi Express Japanse Grill

We thought…read moreit was strictly a takeout place but were happily surprised to see a row of booths along the side wall and counter seating in the front area. We were greeted by their friendly staff and ordered a bunch of food, because we wanted it all! You order at the counter and they bring your food to the table. We started with chicken egg rolls. One order included 2 egg rolls. I loved that they were not greasy and that they were lightly fried. Inside was ground chicken. Very tasty comfort food for a cold night. Next we had sushi rolls. We thoroughly enjoyed the spicy tuna and shrimp tempura rolls. They were perfect in every way Finally, we had the steak and shrimp hibachi platters, mine with teriyaki sauce and noodles and my husband's with rice. Both came with cabbage, broccoli, and carrots. The portions are good-sized. We could only eat half and took the rest home for dinner the next night. Scrumptious! I highly recommend Hibachi Express. Delicious, high-quality food at reasonable prices. I am putting this restaurant in my favorites!

The DC area Mormon Temple had an open house to get a free tour in the first time in their 50 years, went with that friend, and he suggested Hibachi Express for dinner. I was game, and it was delicious. This isn't gourmet, but it's a solid choice. Staff was cordial. When I did the Yelp search on Hibachi Express, I saw multiple locations in the area. Kensington location of the website is specific to this location. I looked up the Laurel location. Although it's a separate website, the logo is the same smiley face with flame. So, I may want to go back as that new Laurel westside development is only about 6 miles from my home.

Even without a reservation, I was seated immediately, which was a great first impression. The service was excellent. Our server mentioned it was her first day, but you would never have guessed as she was attentive, warm, and handled everything beautifully. The food truly stood out. The sushi was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. The hibachi experience was just as enjoyable. The chef was entertaining, skilled, and added a fun, engaging touch to the meal. The restaurant itself is clean, inviting, and has a great atmosphere that makes you want to stay and enjoy your time. I'll definitely be returning and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great sushi or hibachi experience.

We ordered a party boat that was about $81 which is more than reasonable. Finished almost all of it. I also had my 2 piece roe selection since that's my personal favorite. Service was nice. We had a waiter in training so it took just a bit longer but he did a good job. Ordered a Yueling and drank my draft in a cold glass. The fried oysters and seaweed salad were just ok but I liked their tempura. It's a very casual restaurant with a huge bar, some tables and habachi.

It already feels like a place I will return to regularly. The space is large, modern, and thoughtfully designed, with great lighting and a polished but comfortable atmosphere. It works well for both date nights and family dinners. Gyusan is currently in a soft launch phase, so a few items may not always be available yet. A membership program is also in development, which should offer reduced pricing over time. Service was a highlight. Ellena did an excellent job explaining the all you can eat format, pacing our orders so we did not overload the grill, and keeping everything running smoothly. The table stayed organized, water glasses were always filled, and nothing was overlooked. We chose the Master's all you can eat menu at 78 dollars per person and added sushi for 5 dollars more. Ordering is done through a tablet at the table, with a brief delay between rounds that never felt restrictive. The menu offers a wide selection of meats, seafood, vegetables, and sides. The premium Wagyu bucket is limited to one per person, which makes sense given the quality and richness. It arrives with a dramatic dry ice presentation, and the beef itself is well worth slowing down for. Standouts included the tuna tartare and Japanese wings, both of which we reordered. Grill items were consistently strong, especially the pork belly and hanger steak. The sushi was fresh and well assembled, holding its own alongside the barbecue. For this style of dining, the pricing feels appropriate for the quality, setting, and service. When compared to other grill at the table concepts nearby, Gyusan feels more refined overall. Even in its soft launch phase, Gyusan delivers a high quality dining experience. Between the food, service, and atmosphere, it is a place I fully expect to keep coming back to enjoy.

When we arrived, they asked if we wanted to do AYCE sushi or barbeque, or both. We just did BBQ this time, but you can add sushi for $5. The AYCE BBQ also includes appetizers that are quite varied. There are three tiers for the BBQ, and the server recommended the Prestige tier, which is the middle and gives you some wagyu options that come in a special box. I believe it is $68 a person, which is a solid deal. The appetizer selection is good. I got the seaweed salad, gyoza, and one of my husband's takoyaki. The seaweed salad was my favorite, the others were fine. The meat quality varied a lot. Some of the cuts were fantastic and really flavorful, and some where flavorless and bland, even with the sauce additions. It was an overall enjoyable experience, and you do get a lot of food in 90 minutes. I don't think I would rush back when there are other AYCE options in the area that I personally enjoyed more.

It's clearly popular, and after eating here, it makes sense why. The ambiance of it is very "cafe style" so don't expect a fancy restaurant. Despite the crowd, the staff was fast and efficient with getting food out, which I really appreciated. Service stood out as well, everyone was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. One small detail I liked was the waitress complimenting my rose pink debit card, which just added a nice personal touch to the experience. Another bonus is the location--it's right under a Japanese grocery store, which makes it super convenient if you want to grab anything before or after your meal.
