I love that it is family friendly with a laid back tropical vibe. They also have a good variety on their menu of not just hamburgers but chicken, turkey, and fish options. My kids and I agree that ordering a cool breeze beverage is a must when we go here.. so refreshing! Among our favorite food items are the Hula burger, fish tacos, and spinach artichoke appetizer. I have passed this place many times in Temecula and decided to stop in shortly after 830PM - Saturday night. I was digging their Cali surfer vibe, so I decided to try them. THEY SET THE MOOD FOR GREAT FOOD · Ambiance - bubbly, energetic staff primed for friendly service. Well-lit has plenty of seating and feels inviting. You can almost hear the surf. · Fries - Hot, lightly seasoned, and crisp befitting any restaurant plate. · Pricing - On par with bar and grill menus in the area. · Menu - Tons of Hawaiian-themed foods from nachos to burgers - something for everyone. BUT THE SLIDERS SLIPPED INTO LAST PLACE - ISLAND BURGERS (4PK) · Bun - Soft, golden-brown crown, but the underside and heel (bottom bun) overdone headed toward dry, which created an unpleasantly crisp texture while chewing it. · Patty - Tasted like a frozen patty with no seasoning. It had no discernable beef flavor. It was overdone. Finally, the patty was dry and lacked traditional fat-producing moisture found in gourmet/restaurant burgers. · Grilled Onions - unless eaten immediately, the onions tasted like grease/oil - not uncommon, but still a bit off-putting. I've been going here regularly for years. The food is always delicious, hot, and served timely. The waitstaff have always been friendly, checking in often and taking food allergies/accommodations seriously. While we've had positive experiences with all staff, the waitress with the ponytail braid is amazing ! We dine at the Temecula islands once or twice a month. The food is consistent, fresh and very tasty! We usually sit in the bar because we like the vibe, but today the bar was full with a large parry so we sat in the restaurant portion. The manager Jason knew this so he was kind enough to give us happy hour specials anyway. Our service from Grant was fantastic...attentive and just very friendly and kind. My chicken teriyaki Beach Bowl was delicious as always, as were my husbands tacos and my father in laws burger. Where is the Chili? Huge mistake in taking this off the menu. We used to come in twice a week, at least, for happy hour and we'd always get the cheddar fries with Chili. Now, we are lost. Islands is a chain right? I always know what to expect when o go to any islands. Living in the area, I've been to this location at least 15 times I've the last few years. They did an excellent job during COVID lockdowns of expanding to the parking lot and offering full service. Now that we're back to "normal", they still provide the same level of service that I got before the pandemic screwed everything up. Been here 3 times in the last couple of months and they are always staffed sufficiently and with friendly, attentive servers and host staff. The only reason I can't give 5 stars is because it is a chain and the food is good, but not spectscular. My wife always orders a Longboarder which she enjoys a lot. Me, I'm a taco guy and their tacos aren't real Mexican but they are good. My favorite part about eating at islands however, is the fries. Order them extra crispy for a hot, crispy fry experience. Kids love them too! We will continue to eat at Islands as long as they continue to serve good food and the service level stays the same. For a chain, well done indeed! read more

My husband and I been regulars of Islands since we were each children in San Diego. Now that we live in Murrieta with 2 kids of our own, Islands is the place to be to make sure all 4 of us have menu options. Taylor, in the bar, goes above and beyond with her friendliness and efficiency. We asked for a few recommendations on drinks, etc. and she was more than happy to give us advice on each item. Abbey was also super sweet and very attentive. We let manager Jason know how great the service was too. He was equally as welcoming and friendly, even though I'm sure he was expecting a complaint when we asked to speak with him. Everyone is so quick to complain, so we really try to take the time to praise when we receive exceptional service. We love it here. It's been a few years since I last ate here. Had a friend come up from SD and we decided to eat here after our workout. They have outdoor seating available and nicely spaced out. Hand sanitizer at the front for your convenience. We ordered our food and it came pretty quick, and all at one time. Food was good, and tasty. We had 2 servers, a man and a woman, both of whom were really nice and very efficient. When it was time to pay, it took a little while for them to bring us the bill, hence the 4 star rating. Other than that, it was a pleasant experience and I'll be back again soon. They do have a happy hour menu which I was not aware of. Pleasantly surprised to see it. I finally spoke to someone after the bartender completely ignored the 7 of us standing there trying to pick up our orders. We came for our daughter's birthday at her request. Greeted by who I am assuming was the manager. Very friendly and entertaining. Took a minute for our server Isabel to greet us. We ordered everything at once and even ordered something to go and asked for to be prepared later. (Bring a former server it is possible to put in a to-go order later) Our to go order was brought our before our food. In which I had to flag down our waitress and ask her to keep it warm. When our food arrived the chicken tortilla soup was basically broth, a few pieces of shredded chicken, no tortilla strips, and two bite size pieces of avocado. The ranch was watery. They also have other HH during the week I believe 3pm-6pm for food/drinks which you have to sit in the bar for. They make the best drinks, so worth it. The price is reasonable.
