The food here was decent, and the ambiance was nice enough, but I was really put off by something I overheard during my visit. On my way to the bathroom, I heard the manager, Mike, speaking to one of the servers in a tone that was dismissive and condescending. It wasn't yelling, but the way he spoke to her was demeaning, as if he was blaming her for something in an unnecessarily harsh way. It was extremely disrespectful. Is this how he talks to all his staff? What made it even worse was that the server was providing great service and absolutely did not deserve to be spoken to like that. The interaction made me and probably others around me uncomfortable. It's extremely unprofessional for a manager to treat their staff this way, especially in a setting where customers can hear it. Unfortunately, it overshadowed the rest of the experience for me. Treat your employees better, Mike! read more

Always Great to eat at Islands. Service is always great and so is the food. Always a top 5 choice for my kids to choose to eat in the area and I am not going to complain. Islands restaurant in Temecula is our family go to burger retaurant. The food and quality of service has been consistently good each time we have eaten here. I love that it is family friendly with a laid back tropical vibe. They also have a good variety on their menu of not just hamburgers but chicken, turkey, and fish options. My kids and I agree that ordering a cool breeze beverage is a must when we go here.. so refreshing! Among our favorite food items are the Hula burger, fish tacos, and spinach artichoke appetizer. THEY SET THE MOOD FOR GREAT FOOD · Ambiance - bubbly, energetic staff primed for friendly service. Well-lit has plenty of seating and feels inviting. You can almost hear the surf. · Fries - Hot, lightly seasoned, and crisp befitting any restaurant plate. · Pricing - On par with bar and grill menus in the area. · Menu - Tons of Hawaiian-themed foods from nachos to burgers - something for everyone. BUT THE SLIDERS SLIPPED INTO LAST PLACE - ISLAND BURGERS (4PK) · Bun - Soft, golden-brown crown, but the underside and heel (bottom bun) overdone headed toward dry, which created an unpleasantly crisp texture while chewing it. · Patty - Tasted like a frozen patty with no seasoning. It had no discernable beef flavor. It was overdone. Finally, the patty was dry and lacked traditional fat-producing moisture found in gourmet/restaurant burgers. · Grilled Onions - unless eaten immediately, the onions tasted like grease/oil - not uncommon, but still a bit off-putting. This place was really good. We haven't eaten at Islands for years and it was our first time at this location. The decor is beach vibe, which was cool. We went for lunch a few days ago and were sat relatively quick. Our waitress was attentive. The food was delicious. My kids enjoyed their meals, which is rare, and my husband liked his salad. Next time, minus the blue cheese. We'll definitely return and you should give it a try! read more

We dine at the Temecula islands once or twice a month. The food is consistent, fresh and very tasty! We usually sit in the bar because we like the vibe, but today the bar was full with a large parry so we sat in the restaurant portion. The manager Jason knew this so he was kind enough to give us happy hour specials anyway. Our service from Grant was fantastic...attentive and just very friendly and kind. My chicken teriyaki Beach Bowl was delicious as always, as were my husbands tacos and my father in laws burger. I've been going here regularly for years. The food is always delicious, hot, and served timely. The waitstaff have always been friendly, checking in often and taking food allergies/accommodations seriously. While we've had positive experiences with all staff, the waitress with the ponytail braid is amazing ! Where is the Chili? Huge mistake in taking this off the menu. We used to come in twice a week, at least, for happy hour and we'd always get the cheddar fries with Chili. Now, we are lost. Islands is a chain right? I always know what to expect when o go to any islands. Living in the area, I've been to this location at least 15 times I've the last few years. They did an excellent job during COVID lockdowns of expanding to the parking lot and offering full service. Now that we're back to "normal", they still provide the same level of service that I got before the pandemic screwed everything up. Been here 3 times in the last couple of months and they are always staffed sufficiently and with friendly, attentive servers and host staff. The only reason I can't give 5 stars is because it is a chain and the food is good, but not spectscular. My wife always orders a Longboarder which she enjoys a lot. Me, I'm a taco guy and their tacos aren't real Mexican but they are good. My favorite part about eating at islands however, is the fries. Order them extra crispy for a hot, crispy fry experience. Kids love them too! We will continue to eat at Islands as long as they continue to serve good food and the service level stays the same. For a chain, well done indeed! read more

My husband and I been regulars of Islands since we were each children in San Diego. Now that we live in Murrieta with 2 kids of our own, Islands is the place to be to make sure all 4 of us have menu options. Taylor, in the bar, goes above and beyond with her friendliness and efficiency. We asked for a few recommendations on drinks, etc. and she was more than happy to give us advice on each item. Abbey was also super sweet and very attentive. We let manager Jason know how great the service was too. He was equally as welcoming and friendly, even though I'm sure he was expecting a complaint when we asked to speak with him. Everyone is so quick to complain, so we really try to take the time to praise when we receive exceptional service. We love it here. It's been a few years since I last ate here. Had a friend come up from SD and we decided to eat here after our workout. They have outdoor seating available and nicely spaced out. Hand sanitizer at the front for your convenience. We ordered our food and it came pretty quick, and all at one time. Food was good, and tasty. We had 2 servers, a man and a woman, both of whom were really nice and very efficient. When it was time to pay, it took a little while for them to bring us the bill, hence the 4 star rating. Other than that, it was a pleasant experience and I'll be back again soon. They do have a happy hour menu which I was not aware of. Pleasantly surprised to see it. Next time I'll grab one of those adult capri sun pouches to go! Parking is never a problem here since there is lots of it. read more

I love islands. It's always consistent with service and quality. I go here often with my family and never any issue with wait times or much else. The last two times we went, we had Grant as our waiter. He's just so on top of everything. Knowing to suggest exactly what we need before we asked. Checked on us frequently, super amazing with my kids. Just super personable. It makes a great difference with our dinning experience when they are just super genuine. The food is mediocre at best. The service was absolutely awful. I ordered takeout an hour prior, showed up and waited 27min to even talk to someone. I finally spoke to someone after the bartender completely ignored the 7 of us standing there trying to pick up our orders. I must say that the service was extraordinarily amazing but the food was disgusting. Rachel was one of the best servers I've ever experienced. She was personable, most pleasant and attentive. I got the beach bowl. The swordfish was as dry as cardboard and really almost too hard and dry to swallow while the rice in my bowl was undercooked and hard. It was extremely unpleasant to eat it but we were a large party so I didn't want to cause issues. 4 of us got the same thing and one had to actually send her fish back because it was burned black on one side. Whoever is in the kitchen cooking isn't taking any pride in their job, that's for sure! I'm sure their burgers are okay but, gee whiz, learn how to cook rice and fish. read more

They designed a new look to the menu, updated it with more healthier options, burgers. Favorite place to dine in. During football season they have great deals. They also have other HH during the week I believe 3pm-6pm for food/drinks which you have to sit in the bar for. They make the best drinks, so worth it. The price is reasonable. Waiter/waitress always deliver great customer service. Sign up for the Islands app. You can earn free burgers, other goodies. Love the beachy, tropical, laid back vibes.
