I've always loved islands!! Their chicken burger is so bomb it's called "shorebird". Any time I think about it I end up craving it. If you're eating there it's nice, everything is decorated very surfer- beach style. I've never had a bad experience dining in or taking out. Their staff has always been nice and accommodating. It's not a very fancy restaurant it's just a casual family/friend place. If you like gourmet burgers (beef or chicken) I certainly recommend dining here. I've never tried any of their seafood but my friends have said good things about it. I can't wait until I can come back and have another shorebird I'm literally obsessed. Their fries are really good too and you get a good portion with your order. Idk if it's still the same but when I went the fries were bottomless and they continued to give refills. Either way they give a good serving size, you won't be disappointed. read more

Love and continue to love this location!!! Delicious food! And amazing service!!! 1000% recommend. Stop by and ask for Joey and JD!!

The wait wasn't long. The service was good. Islands is a chain restaurant so it's pretty consistent across most of their locations. The fries aren't the best, I'll definitely be skipping them next time. I also didn't like the cheese fries. The chicken sandwiches are always amazing! read more

As much as I love Islands Burgers, (I'm coming from Rancho Cucamonga when it used to be there) there burgers are great but the service was not the best yesterday with it being pretty much empty in there. The manager is great he did comp us and apologized which is great and no big deal. But I'm only writing this because there "water" taste horrible. Not even joking, I want someone to read this and please take a sip of the water. I don't know how you can enjoy a meal while drinking that water. Please check your filters (etc.) but again I always love Islands burgers, I'll be coming back for the burgers. read more

Islands Restaurant - Menu - American Near Me - Riverside, California

Executive summary: A family friendly mid priced burger joint featuring multiple tvs playing sports and a vaguely Hawaiian theme Ambiance They're all built to the same corporate standard. So there is never any surprise. And - no- there are no islands restaurants in Hawaii Food Mid to upper tier pricing. Mainly known for burgers but they do offer salads and tacos. I'd suggest you pass on the tacos. Their strengths are the burgers. I ordered a Malibu with everything. Next time I'll leave out the raw onions and the mustard (they really loved the mustard. It was doused in it) Sports: I happened to be in during the World Cup. They started with one tv showing it and then decided we really needed to watch the wnba. I mean, who does that? The manager kept changing the channels like an adhd kid. Fortunately I was near the end of my meal. The folks who work there do t really seem to be sports fans ... but there you go Conclusion All in all, it's a safe choice. Clean, tidy , good enough food , kid friendly. When you have those family discussions on where to go and no one can agree - this is the answer read more

I had the chicken nuggets appetizer, as a meal and they were okay. But the ranch dipping sauce was like flavored milk, by the end of the meal I was wearing the more of the sauce than I ate. Drip, drip, drip. Next time I'm going back to have a burger, hope it's good. read more

For those of us who don't eat meat, they have very few options. There are salads and sides and a veggie bowl. All those burger & chicken sandwiches and they can't offer a bean, veggie, or falafel burger? Do better, Islands. Not everyone eats meat, or haven't you heard? read more

My son picked up a Big Wave burger for me last night. The ingredients were fresh and the burger was nicely put together but it had ZERO flavor. They need to season the meat properly before grilling. I've never had a burger before that was not exploding with flavor. When I went to Gordon Ramseys restaurant at Caesars Palace in Vegas, it was BURSTING with flavor. Dear Islands: please remember to always season the meat and the tomatoes as well as commercially grown tomatoes are flavorless. However: my son said the staff at Islands were very friendly and accommodating. He always enjoys going there because of the staff. So the burger only gets three stars but the staff gets FIVE stars. read more

I've been coming to this location since they opened. As always, the weight staff was amazing. The restaurant was very clean. Unfortunately the food is not what it used to be. The salsa that comes with the chips is no longer made on site. It all comes out of a jar and the North Shore chicken tacos I received the chicken was very dry. I will still come to Islands. I just won't be ordering the chips and salsa or any of the Mexican food any longer because of the dryness of the chicken and the jarred salsa with that being said my coworkers's meal was impeccable It was very delicious. Hopefully the upper management will see this and change back to their original salsa. read more

I got a chicken sandwich and it was delicious. The French fries taste so fresh. Nachos, delicious. There was no wait, staff was very friendly throughout our whole meal. Eric, our server, was great. He had a great attitude, attentive, and very professional. Definitely will return when in the area again. read more

I was looking for a good burger today and sit down so the family and I could relax a bit. Upon arrival, we were promptly seated and it was lunch hour on a Friday, but not too busy. Once we were seated, our server arrived to provide drinks and we were able to put in our appetizer order. We went with the buffalo wings because we are on the keto diet, but that means we can eat wings with ranch as well as celery. We did have to pass on the carrots though. Next, we ordered burger and fries for my daughter who's 5 years old. It was more than enough for her. My wife and I went for the Maui burger with a side salad and she ordered Kilauea (lettuce wrapped) with a side salad as well. I also added an egg and avocado. I didn't know the lettuce wrap was a bun type lettuce, whereas, I am used to usually having a big lettuce piece that wraps the burger. This did make it a bit difficult to eat the burger, but once I got the hang of it, the combination of flavor as well as additions made it worthwhile. On the other hand, my wife was no fan of the Kilauea because of the mixture of tastes and the shredded onion rings. As far as the side salad, it is nothing special whatsoever. Now price wise, it is rather costly to visit Islands. The appetizer and two entrees as well as a kids meal brought our bill to $60+ which is sorta pricy for a burger. I thought it was cool you're able to pay your bill via their mobile app through scanning the barcode. Overall, we did receive quality customer service and had a decent experience. Unsure if we will return anytime soon because of cost. read more

Food is great...service is great but every time we come in it is freezing cold! Bundle up even in summertime

"I ordered a pickup order from Hula Burger. The bun was soggy, and the burger was just okay. The fries were old and looked like leftovers from another order. The tortilla soup was good, and the lemonade was also good. However, there were no napkins, spoons, or anything else. How am I supposed to eat the soup without a spoon? The service was not good. read more

We waited 6 minutes to get greeted by Shonny. She is serving a party of 6 behind me. Takes our drink order, then takes an order from a 2 table, another order from a table of 4. Clearly short staffed on a Monday. It's 4:45pm, where's the manager helping out? Very disappointed We waited 10 minutes to order. Still no manager on the floor. We waited 17 minutes to get 4 bugers, 4 sliders, fries, and a salad. Remember, it's Monday, 515pm. Shonny never comes by to check on us, with no refills and no clearing plates. I ask the hostman for a water, which he does a couple of times. I then ask Shonny for drinks. Our glasses have been empty for 7 minutes while we are eating. Eating with nothing to drink sucks. She gave me the check, which returns, then she runs, but I stop her to get Togo boxes. Which she gets, but no bag to carry them out. Very unorganized, very busy, not much attention to her $100 dinner party. But hey, I seem to get this 2 out 3 times a visit. The food is always perfect. It's a little long but perfect. Perfect burgers and fries, and we ran out of ketchup. Remember, it's after 5 pm, it's Monday, and I'm very frustratsocks. Still no manager to be seen. read more

Came here for the first time with a group of friends, who are from Riverside, on 10/17/21 when I was in town. I had the Hawaiian burger, garlic fries, and tried the Tiki Tai. The Hawaiian burger was great. I underestimated the pineapple but it actually paired wonderfully. The garlic fries were decent, not too soggy but I would've liked it a tad bit cruncier. Unfortunately, I was not able to finish the garlic fries because that Tiki Tai and Hawaiian burger got me full. Atmosphere was great. I believe there was a baseball game and I could tell everyone there were fans. Our server did a great job with all our orders. Overall fun environment to be in and great food. Wish there was a place like this in the Bay Area. Next time I'm back in Riverside, I'll make a pit-stop here. Honotable mention to the staff closing up. I forgot to use the restroom right before leaving and it was near closing time so the doors were locked. Luckily a staff member, who was also locked outside, got the attention of the nearest worker who let us in. I then proceeded with my business. Thanks to the Islands Restaurant staff. read more

My family and I had an awesome dinner at Islands. Normally restaurants are too crazy for our toddler, but the environment allowed us to enjoy a meal as a family. Also the Hawaiian burgers are the BEST pineapple teriyaki burgers of all!! And the service was amazing thanks to Eric! We have two kiddos (a toddler and an infant) and Eric made our night so much easier. He had our toddler laughing non-stop and was incredibly attentive to us as parents juggling these cranky babies. His kindness and extra care made our meal not just enjoyable, but memorable (: read more
