I'm deeply disappointed to write this, as Islands used to be one of my favorite places growing up I've loved the cheddar fries since I was a kid. But during a recent pickup order at the Riverside location, I had a very upsetting experience. Even though I had already paid online, I was treated with suspicion the moment I walked in. Instead of checking my order or name, I was met with uncomfortable assumptions and made to feel as if I hadn't paid. It felt like racial profiling, and I was embarrassed in front of others for no reason. The food was just as good as I remembered, but the experience made it hard to enjoy. Sadly, it no longer feels worth it when the service makes you feel unwelcome. I truly hope the staff and management take this as an opportunity to reflect and provide proper training to prevent others from going through something similar. read more

Overall really pleased with this location. Staff was friendly, sat us down immediately. Our server was helpful but wasn't overboard with the conversation which is my preference. Food was delicious - tortilla soup on a cold night is the best. Football season is louder in the restaurant since the games are on but it was comfortable. read more

Great portions, great taste, great service. I have seen these chains everywhere but have never actually tried it until today. The aesthetic inside is so cool and the ambience makes you feel like you are at an actual island. Great place for chatting, watching the baseball game, or just hanging out. Food was incredible, they had many gluten free options which really helped me make a decision. I ordered a lettuce wrapped BLT, they also have gluten free buns if necessary. The BLT was crispy, fresh and delicious. The fries were great but a little salty! Overall I had a 10/10 experience. We had two amazing servers that got everything g just perfect. I love Islands but I'm really disappointed in this location... my husband's burger was okay, but everything else we ordered tasted really fishy... and we didn't even order fish. We ordered chicken tenders, Baja bowl, and a Caesar salad. read more

This is my 2nd time here and it didn't disappoint. Service was great and with good attitude. My food was tasteful and look amazing, not half fasted made like other restaurants. Bad service...The server mixed up our drink orders but didn't tell us what they were so we didn't know until we drank them and she got one drink order completely wrong. She also got my food order completely wrong. When it was brought out by another employee and I let them know it was the wrong item, there was no apology, he just tried to get me to take the incorrect item, which I didn't want. Good lord in heaven that burger was good! I usually only take pictures and rate the Coke at restaurants, but this time I want to point out how delicious the burger was; crispy on the edges and tender and juicy in the middle. The Coke wasn't THAT carbonated but it wasn't missing its classic taste. Ever since I was a little kid, I've always loved the interior island vibe and the Surfing channels they play on the TV. This place is always popular for a Friday night out. Used to come here to watch the game in the bar area where they'd turn the volume up and everyone is hooting and hollering munching on some chips and salsa. It still has that great atmosphere. I like the new chairs they're much more comfortable. Ordered the sliders and it's just right when you want to share.. or even when you don't. The soft pillowy tops are nicely toasted to hold all the caramelized onions and seared beef patty. Served with the right amount of pickles and crispy onion strings to form that perfect chomp with texture. Service is always great and has those laid back Hawaiian vibes throughout the restaurant. Islands has very good burgers, and I also really like their fish tacos. However, I recommend that you avoid their "signature" cocktails at all costs. They are pre-made concoctions, and most are pretty nasty. I recently ordered the Big Island Iced Tea and it was just disgusting! Very cheap liquor especially the tequila. The other pre-mades tend to be either really weak or super sugary. The service at islands has always been excellent and their happy hour is pretty good (if you avoid the aforementioned cocktails). read more

As much as I love Islands Burgers, (I'm coming from Rancho Cucamonga when it used to be there) there burgers are great but the service was not the best yesterday with it being pretty much empty in there. The manager is great he did comp us and apologized which is great and no big deal. But I'm only writing this because there "water" taste horrible. Not even joking, I want someone to read this and please take a sip of the water. I don't know how you can enjoy a meal while drinking that water. Please check your filters (etc.) but again I always love Islands burgers, I'll be coming back for the burgers. read more

I've always loved islands!! Their chicken burger is so bomb it's called "shorebird". Any time I think about it I end up craving it. If you're eating there it's nice, everything is decorated very surfer- beach style. I've never had a bad experience dining in or taking out. Their staff has always been nice and accommodating. It's not a very fancy restaurant it's just a casual family/friend place. If you like gourmet burgers (beef or chicken) I certainly recommend dining here. I've never tried any of their seafood but my friends have said good things about it. I can't wait until I can come back and have another shorebird I'm literally obsessed. Their fries are really good too and you get a good portion with your order. Idk if it's still the same but when I went the fries were bottomless and they continued to give refills. I've been coming to this location since they opened. As always, the weight staff was amazing. The restaurant was very clean. Unfortunately the food is not what it used to be. The salsa that comes with the chips is no longer made on site. It all comes out of a jar and the North Shore chicken tacos I received the chicken was very dry. I will still come to Islands. I just won't be ordering the chips and salsa or any of the Mexican food any longer because of the dryness of the chicken and the jarred salsa with that being said my coworkers's meal was impeccable It was very delicious. Hopefully the upper management will see this and change back to their original salsa. read more
