I love me a retro food spot. My only complaint here was that the prices are not retro lol. (I especially wish the merch was a little cheaper; I would have loved a souvenir shirt but wasn't going to pay 30 bucks; I know, I know, prices are going up all over - boo). Anyway! I wanted to get a sampling of several items on offer. Keeping in mind that the key word here is "fried." The fish and chips were AWESOME. Get that. Perfectly cooked, mouth-watering, best fish and chips for miles (even miles on the other side of the water). The chicken nuggies for kids, a bit on the dry side. The burgers - good. The corndog for kids - underwhelming, didn't like the dog that was used, tasted like bologna. Must get the soft serve pineapple ice cream - OMG. This was something I had on the regular when living in Hawai'i so would not pass up a chance to have it again here - generous serving. Friendly service; however, the kitchen is slow. We sat outside and passed the time waiting. Very busy crowded place - every single party we saw on our outings earlier in the day came here for lunch!

Nice burger joint on Vashon Island. They were slammed with the memorial weekend crowds and orders were taking half an hour to fill but we were told this when we were waiting in line. The menu was limited but their burgers were good. I really like their crunchy French fries too. Next time, I'll have to try their onion rings. The condiment bar was nice with lots of options.

got the combo meal for $16, which is expensive, but the food was good. just soooo small in serving size that I was genuinely :/ while eating because food did not last. French fries were good with the variety of sauces available at the front. cannot even choose which one was my favorite because all of them tasted really yummy. u serve yourself, so make sure when at the front, u get ready to bring a lot of things back to your table by hand. Corn dog was delicious, too. first time having this type of food in a long time since i last had it when i was in elementary schools Hot dog inside thoroughly cooked and was warm for a long time. must try with the sauces! I love that I was able to exchange the "itty bitty ice cream" for a milkshake. Staff was very accommodating and let me combine 2 flavors with the milkshake. Flavors had classic options, but also unique ones like chai as a choice. the tiny ice cream makes this combo not worth the price because you are paying for so little food. The drink is also in a baby cup that you can refill unlimitedly, but still not much to satisfy the hunger. typical soda flavors at the fountain. but, shoutout to the staff for helping to make tweaks to my order so I could get the "most out of my buck". They even serve it to u, but not the condiments :( I wish that they did orientation to all guests who ordered upfront on where everything is so that they have sides prepared. I do like the color scheme of this restaurant because it fits well with the American diner aesthetic, but I wish that there was more wall decoration that alluded to the vashon island history.

    Perfect burger.

Oh man! This is why you go to an independent burger joint! Family-friendly, clean atmosphere. Order on-screen at the counter, then add toppings to your burger. The burger had all the right umami flavors. The fries were lightly battered, extra crispy, and not too salty. Really enjoyable. No wonder it was so busy.

Loved the retro vibe. Service was great so was the burger and fries. Thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance and food. Next time I'll try the ice cream.

Small town, big accommodations. Yes, they have gluten-free buns! Clutch! High IQ play! Pun intended. The servers are vibrant, youthful, and knowledgeable about the menu. I went with the build your own burger! Island Queen got that old school fat burger diner feel to it!

So freaking good. Everyone at our table of 6 was happy. Owner was also working and was incredibly friendly. We will be back during our next visit.

The fish and chips are great. One order filled both of us. The service is friendly and helpful. It is not fast food but good food. Enjoy the ambiance of a friendly local restaurant.

The newly remodeled Island Queen was the highlight of Vashon Island for me. We ordered at the counter an only had a couple minutes before I got the text that my food was ready. I had the Swiss baco-shroom burger. It was delicious! Seasoned well and cooked beautifully. The bun was soft and fresh. The fries were next level! They were a perfect golden brown and crispiness. Absolutely a great meal! I will be back!

Came here for the Yelp Passport to Vashon event because we had a voucher for a free ice cream cone. We came in and there was a choo choo train winding it's way around a track above our heads. Looking at the menu, I noticed the fish and chips and the cashier looked at me with all sincerity and promised me it was probably the best fish and chips around. I LOVE when people want to talk food, so I was in for lunch. Being a fried chicken fan, I ordered that and added malted vinegar to the fries and it reminded me of sunny days at the beach when I was a kid. I don't know if there was honey in the batter, but it was slightly sweet and tasty. The restaurant has a nice outdoor patio, so they are very dog friendly. The owner came out because she couldn't resist Emma and Professor Henry who were wearing their Yelp bandanas around their necks. She gave us an insider tip to go to the Estate sale a few miles north so we could see the farm of a famous author and that was so cool of her to recommend that. I plan to visit again as soon as the weather breaks because I am determined to have the best fish and chips around.

Expensive fish and chips, not bad but nothing special

Lemony sweet, with refreshing topped raspberries to bring you back to your senses. Sticky toffee pudding was a contrast to the fresh panna cotta. It was so scrumptious and rich. It's like the British pudding, essentially like a cake/muffin with a delicious sauce. The main meal was mushroom risotto with asparagus. I'm not a big risotto person but there were only 2 vegetarian options on the menu for the entrees so I needed to pick something! It was nice and buttery, but could have used more asparagus in my opinion for variety of textures. The other option for vegetarian entrée was a polenta! It was decent but this place could definitely do better vegetarian entrees! I have full faith on that. Appetizers are delightful - we had the crispy cauliflower with a chutney that was surely inspired by some tangy Indian tastes. The other dish for appetizers was patatas bravas - delightful. The menu is not overwhelming, it's seasonable and there will be something you can enjoy. Parking and seating is super limited so make sure you arrive on a slow day, arrive early, or are prepared to wait. Tip is also included. Good for special occasions. Bring your love, your best friend, and/or your grandma. Clean and cozy. Has outdoor seating too in the front and back.

Was our waitress and she was just delightful. A little spacey, like both of us, but just absolutely delightful. The food came out quickly, as ordered, and hot. The only criticism I have, and the only reason I didn't leave a 5* review is that there really ins't an evening menu. And now in hindsight, I'm going to presume that what they called corn beef was probably some pink slime aggregate that was marketed under that name given seasoning and whatever else. I tried to beat some of the flavor by having a little bit of someone else's pancake, but whatever was in the pancake batter just tasted like VOCs and other assorted chemistry I wish I was joking. If I was, my gut wouldn't feel like the absolute cesspool that it has become trying to pass this ***slop. Someone else had fried potatoes and I thought that at least potato might be a little bit more pure since it was a whole ingredient, but it just tasted like resin because of how long the grease had been on the fryer that had cooked it If I didn't know this country for what it is, I would have called the health inspector on the place

Now, I'd just had some bad things happen in my life and was looking for something that might bring me some joy, so I ordered the strip even though it was a little pricey, and I didn't know much about the place. My brother in Christ, let me tell you, that was the most gloriously delicious steak I've ever eaten. Cooked perfectly. Buttery. An almost crackling crust. Seasoned well but not overwhelming. My wife's noodles were also fantastic, but that steak was out of this world. She made me trade once she tasted it. We finished with a really nice, not too sweet chocolate mousse. They nailed all of it. I'm as shocked as anyone to tell you that this was the best restaurant meal I've ever had, and I don't like anything.

This place commits to sourcing almost everything they have locally and they make a lot of their own base ingredients including every sauce they serve. The Ruby Brink is particularly well suited as a good bar that still has restaurant class food, especially if you just go out with your adult friends and not necessarily your family of five. Different restaurants are tiered to different clientele and I especially appreciate that they serve their target audience: adults looking for a damn good meal, super well! Their menu is prepared every single day depending on what's available at the time. Don't be surprised if you see different dishes on it from just going there a week previous. In my opinion this keeps it fun although they still make sure to keep their classic favorites around. Definitely five out of five stars for me
